New Criterion Closet with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche. Loving this because they basically do just start shopping and ignore the camera; it really is kids in a candy store. Ralph claiming the Fellini box set for himself is hilarious.

when she was looking for a date that would be more than just arm candy, he had been her first choice. her oldest friend and confidante outside of the entertainment industry, jonathan was her comfort. he was the one who she called when she needed a distraction from her hectic life, and she loved that he always said yes. "as best i can," she answered honestly, giving a single shrug. "better now that i can bring you to things like this." he typically shied away from this part of her life and she didn't blame him. it was crazy and loud and intrusive and could easily tear a person down. in a way, he was too pure for it. "he was good looking?" she answered, giving him a confused expression before she let out a laugh. "sometimes i don't make the best choices, okay? that's what happens when you leave me to my own devices." when she had asked for a distraction, she hadn't expected to be whisked away, their table left forgotten as the pair danced to their own beat. her hands immediately found their place, one on his shoulder, the other holding onto his tight as they moved together. quite well, something she hadn't anticipated. "when did you learn to dance?" she asked accusingly. "when we were younger, you had two left feet." it was nice, and she liked that she wasn't thinking of him but was rather enjoying the moment with jonathan.

if there was one thing jules loathed more than anything in the world, it was being bad at things. when she learned about the horseback riding lessons, she immediately dreaded them. if she didn’t succeed right away, she had a tendency to quit. it was one of the negatives of being such a perfectionist. although she wasn’t thrilled to marry a prince she barely knew, but if she had to, juliette would make the most of the situation. she’d known about the arrangement since she was a girl, but it didn’t make the move any easier for her. parting ways with her courtier, the princess tugged open the stable door with ease. her eyes widened at the sight of the prince’s sibling — yet another person she’d only met once. “g’morning.” jules nodded briefly, averting her gaze to the horses surrounding them. “bit early for a ride, isn’t it? what are you doing here?”

Me: [sits upright in the therapist couch] I just realized exactly why Mercutio wearing purple in the Revival isn’t my favorite color symbolism choice in the world. True, Mercutio is an Escalus, so I suppose it makes sense that he’d be in Escalus colors. However, that doesn’t work because 1) Revival Prince’s colors are gold, not purple and 2) Mercutio’s character itself. While Mercutio is very much a bit of a maverick, in the terms of the social context of Verona he has very much chosen his side—the Montagues. He goes against the Capulets with Tybalt almost as his personal rival. In that sense he isn’t apart from the feud at all, but is completely immersed in it. I think that’s why the Italian and Toho/Takarazuka made different choices—actually more in line with the original French—to his costuming. I feel that you could keep Mercutio being an Escalus but still have him in blue—a Montague of choice rather than blood. It would certainly be in character for Mercutio. It would give great commentary when the Montagues mourn for him as their own contrasted with his family’s much colder response. I don’t know, does that make sense?

Ensign JULIETTE MARIE MARCHAND was an orphan raised on a small research and agricultural colony. She soon discovered her interest in, and talent for, exogeology and exobotany, and set her sights on joining Starfleet Academy.

Upon her graduation, she got assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise-D to further her work, studying under Keiko O’Brien.

During the encounter with, and subsequent analysis of, the Ressikan probe from Kataan, she got hit with a nucleonic beam and found herself waking up as Meribor, completely taken aback by how everyone was calling Captain Picard Kamin and why he was suddenly acting as her adoring father.

She lived a whole life— childhood, adulthood, parenthood— on Kataan, only to return to herself on Enterprise under the care of Dr. Selar.

Juliette takes the loss hard, grieving the family she finally had and the community she felt embraced by, her only reminders being Eline’s Ressikan necklace left in the probe that she constantly wears, and the Captain.

Both Deanna and Beverly, as counselor and chief medical officer, feel it would be beneficial for the two to spend more time together. Jean-Luc and Juliette feel drawn to each other, both remembering what it was like to be father and daughter and bonding over being the only two chosen to share the Ressikan culture with the world. The bridge crew takes it upon themselves to help them and support them through this, and Juliette finds herself getting that sense of family back.

She is very similar to Meribor in that she is gentle, kind, and intelligent, if a bit overly pragmatic.

Though she at first feels awkward with her newfound situation, she eventually changes her name to Picard.

i used to not be a fan of JetJ but it's growing one me lately. i wasn't in to them since I feel like their pieces are so OTT that you can't really wear them in a toned down way, but their insta shows a lot of lolitas doing so. they also sell a lot of pieces that aren't as OTT as what I usually associated with the brand.
