Cherik Fic idea: During the gay mutant roadtrip in XMFC, the CIA secretly follows them.

Erik, having spent his entire life being hunted, can naturally outmaneuver them in spy-movie style even without using his mutation, more skillfully than ordinary people. Like it's nothing.

Charles is disappointed by the CIA's lack of trust, and gradually learns through experience how Erik has lived in a completely different world from his own.

Just as Erik naturally has the skills to shake off surveillance, Charles has the power to move people's hearts. Though Charles often fights with Erik because he 'tries not to manipulate people', he outsmarts the CIA in silly and witty ways that feel like illusions.

Erik is fascinated both by Charles as a person and by his power. At every moment, he thinks about what it would be like if they were together. Over and over…

Erik is someone who gradually expands Charles's world, and in that process - to quote "Demian" - "the bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must first destroy a world." = Charles loses his ability to walk, just like in the original movie.

But the journey there is quite bright, fun, and exciting enough for two men to grow fond of each other even while arguing.

So I watched My School President after a couple years of my brain convincing me I wasn’t going to like it and fell absolutely in love. To the point where it is now my new (BL) comfort series.

I bring this up because I’ve been the exact same way about a lot of the newer (like 2022 and on) BLs for the last couple years but now I’m thinking I should give Love in the Air a chance as well because I’ve heard great things about it. Should I?

I’m also down for any recommendations. I’ve watched a couple newer(ish) BLs like Bad Buddy and Cooking Crush and love both of those. But most others I haven’t watched bc my brain hates me and doesn’t want me to have nice things sometimes.

Basically: should I watch Love in the Air? And/or does anyone have any other recommendations (preferably from 2022 and onwards) to try to get into the current BL world?

I only have like three authors I can depend on for the BEST wlw fics I’ve ever read. I’m trying to search for more but every time I get….unlucky to say the least.
