World Info Word Vomit
In Eidem, there are three general groups of "higher powers".
The Eidolons, the Fovos, and the Evlogia.
The Eidolons refer to the elemental titans that have created the realm through ... I don't know. Smashing? Arts and Crafts? No one has ever bothered to ask "how?" There is only mention of them using their elements to forge and create world and its inhabitants.
These beings include...
Vinir - titan of light; creator of the ghriac
Vexani - eidolon of darkness; mother of the shon
Ulena - eidolon of the forest (plants); progenitor of the eluinn
Onaiis - titan of earth (stone and soil); ancestor of the khefa
Phiias - titan of the sea (water); forefather of the syreni
Alotyl - titan of the sky (air/wind); crafter of the ourana
Ghehena - eidolon of fire; forger of the yeu-li
They're depicted as very neutral entities that show no maliciousness toward the world but also little to no regard for it either. Like "We made a thing! :D Now moving on!"
-----
Then we have the Fovos, or the Primordial Fears. Entities that have plagued Eidem since the dawn of time. So much that humanity has come to fear them on an instinctual level. Funny enough, they are not depicted as "evil" per se. More like facts of life. These things do what they want when they want, but they're not seeking people out on purpose or anything. They are merely creatures of their own nature and it just so happens that what they do brings bad things to everyone.
These beings include...
Fear of the Unknown - includes fear of darkness and things you cannot understand
Fear of Ego Death - humiliation and such
Fear of Beasts - monsters, wild animals, etc
Fear of the Perverse - when things just don't look or feel right; includes the uncanny valley stuff
Fear of Suffering - pain, hunger, anxiety, etc
Fear of Isolation
Fear of Control - or like the loss of control; also claustrophobia
Fear of the End - death, nothingness, annihilation, etc
-----
And lastly, we have the Evlogia. Children of the Eidolons and the closest Eidem has to prime deities. The Evlogia refer to powerful entities that, unlike the Eidolons, had worked to help the realm thrive in spite of the Fovos. They represented powers or the ability to fight against the Fovos or resist their influence.
Previously, physical entities that would answer the people's prayers, as the realm grew, they found themselves unable to keep up with everyone with their physical forms. And so tore their own bodies and souls apart to spread their powers throughout the realm. Blessing everyone with a spark of their power and providing them with the tools to defend themselves.
Ahreum - the Turtle; Gift of Knowledge; represents the power to learn and understand
Byena - the Hydra; Gift of Peace and Rest; represents inner peace and the power to find time to heal and just step away from stressors
Kyaris - the Angler; Gift of Dominion and Will; represents self discipline and the power to stand your ground against other forces
Luleda - the Phoenix; Gift of Life and Creation; represents appreciation of life and its gifts as well as the power of creativity to inspire hope and escape
Melous - the Dragon; Gift of Death and Destruction; previously the Fear of the End before being won over by Luleda and detracting to the Evlogia; represents the acceptance of things ending (you do not need to fear Death) as well as the power to just fight and destroy what it is that plagues you
Yfarae - the Winged Stag; Gift of Community; represents the power of having people with you, to depend on others and have those people depend on you (power in numbers and power in kindness)
Ymis - the Chimera; Gift of Choice and Change; represents free will and the knowledge that you have more power than you may think
And then there are the Blessings which refer to individuals born with the shard of the Evlogia that contain their will, their soul, and more of their power than anyone else. Often believed to be and treated as Avatars of the Gods rather than actual, different, people, if known, they're given a pseudo-deity status among the people. With powers and entities often fighting for their favor. Whent he previous Blessing passes, if they do, the search for the next one starts immediately. With people hoping that if they can find them young enough, they can groom and control the new vessel.
This is very apparent with Theo, the new Blessing of Knowledge. As previous avatars of Ahreum have been great prophets or innovators, so the Helion Conservatory has great expectations for him.
