Connor placed another package aside. Creating a pile of gifts for his family, he focused on setting up the remainder of his tree. It was a smaller one. Perfect size for his apartment. He had several boxes of brightly colored bulbs and various glass blown ornaments to get through. 

Before that he moved for the kitchen and picked up two mugs of freshly made hot chocolate. He smiled bringing one over to his girlfriend. “I know it’s cliché but,” he offered her one of the mugs. “All I want for Christmas is you. Since I do I think I was pretty good this year.”

Connor nodded at her mother with a smile. Partly acknowledging her approval of him to date her daughter and another to agree with her request. Too much fun might get them in trouble. Though he would never mind being alone with Genevieve. She was absolutely beautiful. An absolute princess to have on his arm. He was high school sweethearts with her at the very end of their senior year. Carrying their relationship over into college for him is one of the best things he has ever had. He just sees more than that with her. Connor looks beyond all of this and knows she is the one. 

“I will make sure Gen gets home at a reasonable time. Thank you Mrs. Scott.” 

He turned his head aside to Gen, placing a hand to the small of her back. Guiding her to the door, Connor brought his convertible. He moved ahead of her after to open the door. 

Just the needed touch for their night. He admired how she moved in that dress. The corsage looked right at home on her wrist. Tonight is something he looked forward to. As much as it might not have to do with their usual important studies it was personally important. 

Homecoming is an all around importance for someone on the track team. They always make a big deal about it. 

“I already said you were beautiful but I didn’t say you were beautiful enough to eat up.” Connor pressed his lips slowly against her neck. Lingering there longer than he should right outside her parents house, he chose to pull back before it became obvious. 

He made sure she could easily get into his car. “After you, Genny.”

Connor pushed the humongous stuffed bear up onto the couch. Straightening it from its lopsided position, he huffed taking a look at it. Maybe it’s too big? Know what they always say. Go big or go home. 

He placed a large box of chocolates against the furry belly. Propping up the wrapped heart added the final piece. A card attached to the front. 

Adjusting his collar and making sure he looked decent, Connor grabbed the bouquet of roses. Holding them up and clearing his throat he walked over to his apartment door. The knock is clear to him. Time to give his babe a good Valentine’s Day. 

He unlocked the door, bouquet hidden behind his back as he opened it. His grin was obvious. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Genny babe.” Connor swept the flowers around in a grand presentation. “Red roses for my lady.”
