Lottie: Oh, I'm passing judgement. I'm passing so much judgement. I'm not really passing it against Liam, though. Most of my annoyance and anger lies with the showrunners. I'll give Liam a good chance because he's a great actor. I was pleasantly surprised how much I really liked his roles in The Dressmaker and The Hunger Games franchise (and that is the most recent of his films I've seen sadly lol), so I feel like he'll probably do good with the role. I'm just pissed that Geralt is being recast in the first place. Lottie: Did you see that Baginski said that the reason they've had to change storylines is because Americans don't have the "higher level of nuance and complexity" to follow the original stories? Lottie: What kills me about Netflix is I'm really upset with them for the way they're handling 90% of their shit, but I also can't bring myself to cancel my subscription or anything like that. They have me addicted to their stuff, and they know it. That being said, I do think their marketing team needs to be fired. There are so many things they could be doing to market their new shows and seasons and stuff better, and they're just not doing it. Prime example, like you said, those screen tests/chemistry runs and stuff make amazing promos. They could just throw something together to keep their fans waiting; at the very least, to make the fans who are nervous about Liam feel a little better about everything. Lottie: I honestly haven't read the books or played the games, so the show is all I have to compare it against, but I've read enough about the differences to understand exactly why Henry and other fans are upset. I own the books and will eventually read them, but I'm currently making my way through the Outlander series so literary Geralt will have to wait ha. Lottie: And I just realized how much I rambled there; I apologize lol.
Gabe: Eh, I'm not really passing judgement until I actually see him in action. Like yes, Henry was great at Geralt, I will be the first person to say so! But that's not to say Liam won't be great also, and who knows! Maybe he'll bring something to the character that we didn't know Henry was lacking. Gabe: From everything I've seen it kind of sounds like they've started filming! Or at least have done screen tests at the very least, and dude. Those make great promos, idk why Netflix isn't jumping at posting that kind of thing online to try and generate buzz for the show! Gabe: I just wish I had the books to get me through this dry period. I've never actually read those, just played the games because they looked amazing. And of course I was right about that lmao but for real. I'm actually curious about how different the books are since that's the big issue everyone is taking with the series.
