[Norm was exasperated, and rightfully so; how dare she imply that he and Phonegingi ought to be grateful for their time spent in exile? It was like she was BEGGING for a bullet in that fuzzy head of hers.]

[Neither of them should be grateful to her, not in the slightest. Norm had been shacked up in the outskirts of town, becoming a reclusive hermit who pushed EVERYONE away -- and Phonegingi, bless their heart, hadn't let their exile deter them. They didn't deserve to be booted out of town -- for fuck's sake, Norm might've been a decorated veteran back in his day, but Phonegingi deserved to live in Dialtown far more than he did. Phonegingi was a better person than he was. They hadn't given up on him, even now.]
