🌙 — cyno telling a joke in the angel's share, and it's dead quiet until you hear a snort and chuckle. everyone turning to see diluc snickering to himself because the way cyno delivers his jokes tickled something in diluc's brain. diluc realizing this, diverts everyone's attention and then disappears out of embarrassment for another 4 years the next day

diluc wears low ponytails rather than high ponytails like he used to. high ones tend to give him a headache after a few hours due to the constant tight pulling of his roots, scalp and hair throughout the day, especially with how thick his hair is.

if he isn't wearing his hair down, he either has it in a low ponytail or in a loose braid.

i'll articulate my thoughts better later but for now take my messy ramble. using the current interaction as a springboard, i'm gonna touch on diluc's extremely unhealthy idolization of crepus and the impact it has on him and his life.

across all the board and all verses, no matter which way it goes, diluc has and always will view crepus in a golden light. i touched on this briefly in his bio, but it is true when i say that he lived and breathed for crepus, and allowed crepus to influence his life because why question that? in his eyes, crepus was a great dad — fun, loving, supportive — so there was never a single doubt in his mind about crepus. so he was ready to take on anything his father wanted him to do: become a knight (or become a harbinger), carry on the clan's legacy, etc.

but this mentality has huge repercussions. viewing his father as perfect, diluc blinds himself (intentionally or not) to the fact that crepus had flaws. he can't and won't ever see his father in a bad light, and if his viewpoint gets challenged, he goes off.

this is dangerous in his alternate verses, most especially his harbinger verse. this life wasn't and will never be for a literal child, and crepus was wrong to raise diluc into it with the intentions of priming him to take over for himself. this is why diluc is so stubborn and volatile, especially when his faith is pushed at.

worst part of it is whether or not he's aware of his idolization. he can't face the idea of crepus having faults or being wrong. it's unfathomable to him, especially when he dedicated so much of his life to him.

fashion / beauty headcanons —

wears ribbons and bows around his ponytails, usually in black

has wildly curly hair so he has to have a high rigorous maintenance routine it

loads his hair with products to keep it from floofing out

washes and braids his hair before bed so it's not a tangled mess in the morning

will let the klee braid his hair if she asked

hairstyles: ponytails (high & low), pigtails (low, resting on shoulders), buns, braids, half ponytails

wears dresses around the winery (sundresses) for particularly warm days. will sometimes wear fancy cocktail dresses to events

doesn't wear makeup but will put on lipbalm, cream and occasionally sunscreen when he's working out in the winery for the day

showers every night, some for hygiene, some just to relax from a long day

will take a bath if he's too stressed

uses products with coconut oil (hair) and aloe (skin) to lock in moisture

pro:

diluc's love language is gifts and acts of service. he wants his lover to feel appreciated and even spoiled. granted he won't simply drop thousands of mora on his partner, but he'll give gifts that comes from the heart or things that his partner likes and wanted. he's very observant so he knows everything about his significant other, so he likes to surprise them.

con:

he's a very a busy person. not to say he'll ignore his lover or spend time with them, but there are times where he can't predict if he'll have a hectic schedule, and he'll be swept away with matters involving the winery, or his vigilante duties, so there's a good chance he won't be around often

diluc's mother, esperanza (witch of the moon), was one of the members of the hexenzirkel and close friends with alice. she studied magic at the age of fifteen and was inducted into the circle when she moved from natlan to mondstadt, long before she met crepus. diluc is not fully aware of her ties.
