@brotherhoodofm continued from here;
âHuh. Pretty sprog like you shouldnât ever feel like a spectator, I should think,â Toad snorted. âIf anything you should feel ogled.â There was no envy in the words; by now he was far past being thick enough to envy anyone for what he couldnât have. But there was just a hint of mockery dancing on his tongue. What would Professor Xâs chosen few know about being relegated to the sidelines?
Ogled was such a horrible word and he couldnât hide his disgust at that. Maybe Toad did have a point but Warren couldnât actually imagine that feeling ogled was truly better than being just a spectator. âI know what youâre trying to say but I canât say itâs making me want to be a spectator any less.â He had been raised from money, as everyone knew, and eyes had been on him as soon as he could walk, only increasing in their observation as he got older. âAt least you never hide who you are.â
#I love Warren but he's definitely someone who would unironically say it's hard to be pretty#brotherhoodofm#( queued. )#[v:oldercomicverse]#[sv:pre-archangel]

@blind-mutant continued from x;
Rhys paused as he felt Warrenâs fingers trace over one of the scars on his back and asked what it had come from. It wasnât one of the ones correlated with a particularly awful memory. Not that most scars came with good memories, but he definitely had ones that brought him to a bad place if he thought about them.
âIt was from one of tâ first times I hid in an abandoned warehouse. Accidentally backed up into a piece of metal sticking out from tâ wall,â he explained and then turned a bit to gently place a hand on Warrenâs thigh. âAlright, now itâs yer turn. Tell me âbout tâ big scar on yer chest. Iâve felt it plenty of times before.â
Admittedly he had felt a lot of scars on Warrenâs body. The winged man had definitely been through from scraps before, though Rhys didnât ever know if there was a right time to ask about his scars. He didnât doubt that some of them came with traumatic memories but if they were going to talk about old injuries... well, he might as well know about Warrenâs too.
ââCourse, if any of yer scars are too difficult to talk about yeh donât gotta tell me. Okay?â
It was great that they were upholding their promise to each other and opening up more frequently, making a point of speaking about their pasts. Warren was sure it would make their relationship stronger and so far it had been the case, increasing the bond between the two of them now that they knew each other more intimately.
He let out a quiet hiss in sympathy at the pain he must have felt to get the scar as he let his fingers trail down the raised flesh again before his hand dropped to Rhysâ waist to rest there in contentment. Heâd been through a fair amount of pain, of course, but very few of his scars had been as a direct result of his own actions. Theyâd been inflicted on him by situations he couldnât control or other people who wanted him dead.Â
âSome of them are difficult to talk about, but I still want to tell you,â he said, taking a deep breath as he looked down to the long but old scar on his chest. It had been quite nasty before it had years to fade into his skin, leaving it feeling worse than it looked. The other deserved to know considering that he could tell it represented an awful injury. His boyfriend must have felt it a hundred times but he had never asked, despite the fact that he must have wondered.
âI tried to dodge being shot out of the sky, but I ended up losing control and crash landing into something sharp. It was probably debris from the fight but I donât remember what it was exactly because I blacked out from the pain of the crash. I hadnât been a member of the X-Men for very long back then and I wasnât used to flying evasively for a long time outside of training,â he explained. It was the first serious injury heâd received after joining the X-Men and before then heâd felt invincible. Even now it served as a reminder of his mortality.

@bastxrds // vaguely plotted starter
Warren always got annoyed at the way in which Tony swooped in and caught the attention of the woman he was talking to. It was getting to the point where it could hardly be considered to be accidental. All heâd done was go to get them both a drink and all of a sudden the bubbly brunette was tucked into the side of the very person he would consider to be his greatest rival, at least in this kind of event.
âTony,â he sighed as he approached, keeping the drink just out of reach of the woman he had been talking to so that she would have to detach herself from the side of Tony to receive it.Â
âItâs good to see you again,â he said and although his words were polite, his tone was largely indifferent to try and stop himself from being angry at the way heâd bumped into Tony yet again. It was bad enough when heâd sidled in and danced with Emma while he was talking to her, but he knew that she was his friend and would undoubtedly come back to him. Setting up a situation where he had to compete for the affection of the woman he had just tried to talk to was ridiculously unfair. He couldnât show off his wings like Tony could demonstrate his genius and they subconsciously reminded him of that, bristling against the small of his back from their confines like they wanted to show themselves off too.

â To be perfectly honest with you, I am a bit annoyed about the situation.â
@notgoodwithviolence
Warren looked at Charles, trying to decide between belligerence and looking somewhat apologetic as if that would fix what the other was thinking.
"It was hardly my fault though. It was Hank and Bobby's idea for the most part."

@prfxxor continued from here;
âchildhood is not a countdown, but a state of shelter and protection. Â some ends sooner than others. and for many of us... it ends the moment the mutant gene activates. but with the school, perhaps now we can preserve it for a little longer.â
Warren didnât always agree with the other, as students often disagreed with their teachers but he couldnât disagree with the sentiment of his words. âI hope that we can, especially for kids who end up being like the Morlocks and wonât ever fit in.â He had his own physical mutation too, so he understood how they felt, but he could hide it day to day, even as uncomfortable as the harness was.

A slight nudge of the elbow. (from marrow)
@badmusesdoitwell // Unspoken Fluff Prompts
Warren turned his eyes from the television to the mutant sat next to him who had just elbowed him. Theyâd just been sat together but he knew what Sarah was trying to do. Their relationship had been a little uneasy with their background of them watching while heâd been attacked by the Morlocks. Still, they were in the mansion now and it seemed like they were trying to make an effort, which he did welcome.
âDo you want something else on the T.V?â

âAnd I feel that when Iâm with you, itâs alright. I know itâs right.â
@shinobixshaw // Rumours Sentence Meme
Shinobi could be so sweet considering his background and Warren couldnât help by smile. How someone could so easily speak to him like that and say their emotions after having Sebastian Shaw raise them and presumably repress anything they were feeling was some kind of miracle.
âIt does feel pretty right,â he replied with a slight nod of his head.

" Family isn't who you're born with, it's who you'll die for. " (from Hank?)
@impaviidus
Warren raised an eyebrow before slowly narrowing his eyes. âIs this you telling me that youâd die for me?â he asked, a little surprised. He and Hank werenât as close as he was with the other members of their little original group of X-Men but they were exactly that.

â Your friendship is dearer to me than any fame or reputation. â
@shinobixshaw // Dorian Grey Sentence Starters
Warren couldnât stifle the grin at the way the other spoke about him and their friendship. It was rare that he was actually valued above what he could give to people and who he was. So many people wanted to be near him because he was rich, a member of the X-Men and a socialite.
âThanks, Iâm glad that weâre friends too.â

â i honestly look so good lounging in an oversized t-shirt and no pants. when will someone experience the blessing of domestic living w/ me? â // here we go again
@emmafrrost // popular text posts meme
âMy go-to is the quite the opposite,â he chuckled, a playful lilt to his voice as he cast his gaze at Emma who was draped across his sofa in nothing but one of his own way too big t-shirts that sheâd acquired as one of her own and stored in his guest room. It fit both him and his wings so it practically drowned Emma in its size, falling almost to her knees.
âThereâs definitely a reason that you canât keep anyone you try to experience domestic bliss with that isnât a friend. Maybe itâs the high maintenance aura you give off.â He stretched out along his chair, wings stretching in a way that mirrored his arms as he did so.

 â         about loganâs secret bdsm kinks ???  â  she canât quite contain a laugh.  â  yes, but it wasnât because of my mutation. i found magazines, too.  âÂ
Warren tried hard not to stammer through his sentences at the revelation. He wasnât always comfortable with Emma telling him things about people he knew when sheâd read their mind but this was definitely different. She had concrete evidence that he could see too to back up her gossip.
âWhere did you find them? You werenât snooping around somewhere really seedy like his room, were you?â
