Adachi had made sure to hang up the phone well before he got to his apartment, just in case Naoto got any idea of the conversation he'd just had.

Balancing school, multiple jobs, and raising a kid was proving to be harder than Adachi thought, and once or twice, he'd had a test where the score slipped underneath the As he strove for. Fundamentally, he knew that a B wouldn't have been the end of the world, but of course his parents kept tabs on his grades, and he'd just been on the receiving end of yet another lecture from them on him not trying hard enough, and what did he need all those extra jobs for, he could get money once he got his education and a good career.

When Naoto got old enough to where her grades came from exams and not art projects, Adachi knew he wasn't going to act the same.

Inside the apartment, he could hear Naoto watching cartoons as he hung up his jacket and set down his satchel, and when she ran up to him, excited, he gave the best smile he could muster.

"Hey, kiddo."

Clearly, she could tell that not everything was alright, because as soon as he had a seat on the couch, she was asking him what was the matter.

"It's just been a long day. You know how little things stack up? It was kinda like that.

How about you tell me about your day? That would cheer me up."

Crosses over with another of my fics, The Fall. It would be useful to read those (especially The Deal) first in order to have this make the most sense. Disclaimers: All credit to Eric Kripke and the Supernatural writers for their influence on this story. Especial credit to Eric for one line that I straight out 'homaged' from Series 4, Episode 1 of Supernatural (Lazarus Rising). The poor actors are not mine, the characters are not real, and this is definitely not for profit. Summary: On his birthday in 1999 Orlando made a deal with the Crossroads Demon. He bargained for ten years of success in return for his mortal soul. Not a bad deal when you're on the edge of despair and surviving on drugs and prostituting yourself. Now, ten years on, his situation has changed - but his time is up.

These fics are quite possibly behind a friendslock. I have no clue whether Idrilla is still active somewhere or adds people or reads DMs, but I'm reccing it anyway, because I just re-read it and loved it even more than I did 15 years ago. If you're Christian this *might* offend you, because there are a lot of religious themes in there. But I found all the ideas in these stories brilliantly handled. You could read "The Fall" seperately from the other two, but why would you when these make for such a wonderful trio. It's wing!fic (for which I always had a soft spot), it has angels and demons and a historical setting is still "canon" compliant as far as you can talk about "canon" in any RPS fandom. Loved the tone of "The Fall" (very Bible-like), loved the absolute desperation of "Five Times" ... If a chance to get your hands on these fics presents itself, grab them and enjoy! They're just as deliciously sexy as the cover art.

(Also, the way I remember it, the art used here was originally done for a rockstar AU called "Unnecessary Evils" of which I can only find an Italian translation. The English original sadly seems to have vanished. I used another iteration of that fanart - bare-chested rockstar Viggo in leather pants with spiky hair, nipple piercing and tattoo lounging suggestively against a table - as a desktop image in the past, but people kept fainting at the sight, so I had to change it. It's smoking hot.)

@ls-daydreams - ahhhhh, the way laura aspires to be a screenwriter??? astounding. i admire the passion she puts into the stories she’s got. the way the emotions get a grip on me, makes it enthralling. and she’s got a true knack for writing thrillers and anything associated with it. the intensity in her characters is also a goldmine. 💛💛💛

Mary and butterflies - the inevitability of death, murderous calling cards and collectors

Some ramblings with links to other people’s excellent meta, in which I suggest that butterflies (and/or moths) symbolize Mary as Moriarty’s reincarnation and or calling card, while also hint at her inevitable death.

Disclaimers: credits are below the cut. I’m not an expert in any of these topics. Thank you, @thewatsonbeekeepers​​ for the beta. In this post I’ll be using moths and butterflies interchangeably, apologies to any entomologists.

Mary’s appearance in the show brings with it new imagery we haven’t seen prior to The Empty Hearse - butterflies. Once Mary’s in the picture, there are butterflies in some very strategic locations, all are either visually or subtextually leading to her. The show has done that previous to season 3; Moriarty is connected to some well established symbols like magpies, apples and IOUs. 

When I first started reading meta I used to think these themes were a bit of a stretch, but I’ve since accepted  that this is a show that puts barely noticeable phoenixes in a restaurant scene that shows us Sherlock rising from his death.

Here are some of the butterflies I spotted so far:

Butterflies (and in the case of this piece of meta, moth) symbolize most commonly resurrection, change and renewal. Behind the symbolism stands the transformation of a small, ungainly creature into something full-grown and unbound. In that case, in the simplest way, one could argue that butterflies were chosen to symbolize her because the ‘Mary Morstan’ persona was a stillborn’s identity that was stolen and used ‘reborn’ to create a new person.

But more than this simplistic idea; butterflies carry multiple symbolisms. When it comes to Sherlock, I and many others tend to look at Victorian symbolism, considering the detective’s Victorian roots. 

I find the appearance of butterflies interesting in Mary’s context, much like I find the skull interesting in Sherlock’s. The skulls, in Sherlock’s case, serve plenty of purposes, but one of them is the idea of memento mori.

Memento mori (Latin for 'remember that you [have to] die') is an artistic or symbolic reminder of the inevitability of death. These are representations that can appear in any form of art such as paintings, literature, poetry etc. It’s a concept that existed in many ancient cultures but is also deeply rooted in early Christianity. It serves to remind people of the inevitable; that even if we choose to ignore it, not think about it, it’s always there lurking, and the purpose is not to scare us but to encourage us to make good use of our time when we’re alive. Memento mori was the philosophy of reflecting on your own death as a form of spiritual improvement, and rejecting earthly vanities.

Victorians were obsessed with the concept (weren’t Victorians obsessed with everything?). They would take photographs of the dead and keep locks of hair of those who died in mourning brooches. It is said that they found these practices comforting. 

Another expression of the ‘remember that you must die’ concept was vanitas art;  vanitas is a symbolic work of art showing the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death. The Latin noun vanitas (from the Latin adjective vanus 'empty') means 'emptiness', 'futility', or 'worthlessness', the traditional Christian view being that earthly goods and pursuits are transient and worthless. It alludes to Ecclesiastes 1:2; 12:8, where vanitas translates the Hebrew word hevel (הבל), which also includes the concept of transitoriness. 

This concept reminds me, most especially, of the skull used in The Abominable Bride, which is actually Charles Allen Gilbert's 'All is Vanity' Illusion art.

Back to butterflies - butterflies are a staple component of vanitas art - paintings executed in the vanitas style were meant to remind viewers of the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death. They also provided a moral justification for painting attractive objects - in a way, it’s a justification for the vanity, or the human need of enjoyment of beautiful things.  Below is a vanitas by Jan Sanders van Hemessen:

But butterflies are also considered an omen of death: 

“Butterflies and moths were associated with death, sometimes merely as omens, sometimes as the soul or ghost.” These butterfly omens came in many ways.  For example, in the nineteenth century United States, some people thought that a trio of butterflies was an omen of death.” [x]

Oh.

But I also think there’s more to the butterfly symbolism than Mary’s imminent death; I suggest that, in keeping with @loudest-subtext-in-tv​ M-Theory (suggesting that Mary was planted in John’s life by Moriarty), they symbolize Mary as Moriarty reincarnated following his death in TRF. That Moriarty had indeed not disappointed Sherlock - there was a posthumous game after all! That Sherlock was supposed to understand that while one form of Moriarty died on that roof, another had emerged, continuing the mission of burning Sherlock’s heart. Mary is Moriarty’s calling card, left behind in the crime scene. They’re different, but not separate, which is why Sherlock is so obsessed with Moriarty between HLV-T6T; he’s both wrong and correct at the same time.

So far, what I’ve suggested is that in Sherlock, skulls are Sherlock’s symbolic memento mori - the skulls are associated with Sherlock in some very significant ways. 

However, Mary’s character was doomed from the start - she dies during Sherlock’s hiatus in ACD canon. I believe many fans assumed Sherlock’s Mary expected the same fate when she was introduced to the show. Although the story of Samarra is told by Sherlock, who expects his own death in T6T, Mary is the one who ends up dying. 

Butterflies in ACD canon

Searching for the significance of butterflies in the ACD and BBC canon led me to a number of interesting directions in meta written by others. 

The first and probably the best place to start is this meta post by @tendergingergirl​​, which I strongly suggest you read in full: Butterflies, Sexual Deviancy & The Bloodline Theory in The Hound of The Baskervilles. 

Stapleton also has a hobby. He collects bugs…Butterflies, to be exact. This can often be seen as purely academic, but depending on the actions of the hobbyist, they can indicate more disturbing things. That of holding something vulnerable captive, treating it as your hostage, pinning it down. The torture of animals has come to be a good indicator of someone who would do this to a human. He had already shown callousness by laughing as he recounts to Holmes of ponies wandering onto the Moor, becoming trapped, and dying. In 1974, there was a release of a new edition of Sherlock Holmes stories, with the forward of The Hound of The Baskervilles written by British author, John Fowles. He is responsible for several well-known works, including The French Lieutenant’s Wife. Another, was a novel that Mason finds himself wondering why Fowles doesn’t mention in his introduction, since the villain is such a close parallel to Stapleton.(but as we have learned through the study of ACD, most writers will not come right out and say where they got their inspiration. They like for you to guess!)

A lonely young man, works as a clerk, and collects butterflies, becomes obsessed with a pretty young girl, Miranda, an art student. He chloroforms, and kidnaps her, taking her to his cellar basement, to add Miranda to his collection. That book was called The Collector. But what else does it sound like?

“So yes, I googled. From an article on the release of the movie’s Documentary. "The docu proves a poor reference point for anyone who wants to understand the literary and movie links for “Lambs.” There’s no mention, for example, of how Harris partly based the butterfly-loving Bill on John Fowles’ kidnapper in “The Collector” …And here I thought Mofftiss added allusions to Silence of The Lambs into Sherlock just for fun. SMH.”

So what we have here is a chain of metatextualities/inspiration, starting with ACD’s THOB, where Jack Stapelton inspires a book about a disturbed butterfly collector (The Collector by John Fowles), which inspires a the author of Silence of the Lambs in creation of his character Buffalo Bill, a serial murderer who inserts a death's head moth into the victim's throat because he is fascinated by the insect's metamorphosis. Silence of the Lambs served as inspiration for Sherlock  as analyzed by @garkgatiss​ in Bond, Hannibal, and Holmes (I suggest you read the whole Hannibal section) . 

Let’s look again at some imagery from His Last Vow. Mary shoots Sherlock’s heart, essentially burning his heart out, and who does Sherlock meet in his Mind Palace in a very cocoon-like straightjacket? Yes, the dead dude who encourages him to die already (“one more push, and off you pop”).

What’s the next thing we as an audience see once Sherlock opens his eyes? Mary coming to the hospital to hear that Sherlock had, in fact, survived. And what is she wearing? Her butterfly scarf, one which will another appearance later in the episode, during the tarmac scene.

I also find it interesting that in the context of Sherlock and Silence of the Lamb, there’s an element of gender-switching between Moriarty and Mary. Buffalo Bill, the murderer from Silence of the Lambs, skins bodies of women to create himself a woman’s 'suit’; in Sherlock, Moriarty is a man-villain who transforms into a female-villain in the form of a bride and/or Mary. 

By the way, who else is obsessed with his suits?

Also, let’s not forget the worms, maggots and other such crawlers in the grave scene:

Now, let’s go over some of the photos I included in the beginning of this post a bit further.

Mrs. Hudson’s butterfly tea set is first shown in TEH - she uses it to serve John tea when he comes visiting her and tellis her about Mary. We also see it near John’s chair on the day of the wedding. This isn’t Sherlock’s set - his set is different, featuring the British Isles. Moriarty drinks from it in TRF. The next tea set we see, now that Moriarty is dead, is the butterflies one. In TLD, Mrs. Hudson uses Sherlock’s tea set - the butterflies are gone.

Mary’s bedroom wallpaper is very feminine, with flowers and butterflies, both complementing symbols while also very common in vanitas art. Much like Mrs. Hudson’s wallpaper in Baker Street, Mary’s wallpaper is supposed to show the contrast between Mary’s flat/Mary and Sherlock’s flat/Sherlock.

There’s an interesting moth reference in The Empty Hearse, which in my opinion, is Mary & Moriarty related. In short, in a previous piece of meta I wrote, I suggested that the Jack the Ripper case in TEH is subtext alluding to Mary’s skeletons, which Sherlock ignores because he’s upset by his reception by John. And what’s one of the first things Sherlock notices about the skeleton? New mothballs smell, hinting at an attempt to get rid of moth/butterflies - maybe a hint to  the fact that Sherlock has a chance to discover the truth about Mary but misses it. Also, in the context of Mary and the Jack the Ripper case, notice this transition:

Transitions are important on Sherlock - they’re nearly always there to draw our attention.

This, I think, is perhaps the most telling about a possible connection between Mary and Moriarty: we have both magpies (a Moriarty hint) and butterflies together here. This isn’t the only hint of Mary’s past we get in the wedding; there is, after all, the telegram from CAM.

Mary’s scarf is colorful, and it appears by the time Sherlock’s subconscious suspects Mary. Mary’s black butterfly dress - an ominous dress, I’d say - is the one she wears during the labour scene in the car. The third photo is a behind the scenes photo uploaded by Amanda Abbington, although I’m unsure whether this necklace is AA’s or Mary’s (but I couldn’t pass on including this).

Interestingly, the butterflies do not appear in Rosie’s context - either because it’s a telling sign that Mary won’t be with us much longer, or because Rosie is spared being considered a part of the ‘burning Sherlock’s heart’ plan. Sherlock, on the surface, seems to love Rosie and accepts her.

Also, another BTS photograph I came across during my research which I’ve never seen before and ties nicely to the vanity topic is this one (found here):

The Death's-head hawkmoth and ‘Death with Interruptions’

You’ll recall that I referenced The Collector and Silence of the Lambs, both featuring butterflies on their cover art. 

The Silence of the Lambs cover features Acherontia atropos, otherwise known as the death's-head hawkmoth. It gets its name from the sinister-looking skull shape on its back. In many cultures it is thought to be an omen of death. In a bit of another coincidental but stunning piece of symbolism, all three species of the Death's-head hawkmoth are commonly observed raiding beehives of different species of honey bee; A. atropos only invades colonies of the well-known western honey bee, Apis mellifera, and feeds on both nectar and honey. They can move about in hives without being disturbed because they mimic the scent of the bees and are not recognised as intruders.

Anyway, the use of Acherontia atropos reminded me of the book ‘Death with Interruptions’ by Jose Saramago. Interestingly, this is another book about a deathly collector with a butterfly on the cover:

In Death with Interruptions death is a woman, and she falls in love with one of her future victims. She decides to spare his life: Every time death sends him his letter [notifying him of his imminent death], it gets returned. death discovers that, without reason, this man has mistakenly not been killed. Although originally intending merely to analyse this man and discover why he is unique, death eventually becomes infatuated with him, so much so that she takes on human form to meet him. Upon visiting the cellist, she plans to personally give him the letter; instead, she falls in love with him, and, by doing so, she becomes even more human-like.

It’s pretty common to read theories about Mary who maybe was one of the assassins due to kill John both at the pool and in front of Barts. So we have a death harbinger trying to kill someone twice and failing. She then falls in love with him.

But how does the butterfly fit in?

Well, at some point in the story, death (that’s her name, sans a capital d), contemplates that using the death head butterfly, instead of a violet piece of paper, would have sent a much stronger message to those whose death is coming for.

And here’s another last bit of coincidental reference to Sherlock: I’d argue shades of purple, among them shades of violet, are associated with Mary and her secrets. There’s the purple dress she wears in TEH, her bridesmaids’ dresses include various shades of purple (including what I would argue was a violet sash) and let’s not forget:

Oh and, by the way, remember the song Donde Estas, Yolanda from TEH, about a woman called Yolanda? Always thought it was a bit of an odd choice for a song?

Yolanda is a female given name, of Greek origin, meaning Violet.

Fallout 76 Beta on ps4

Well, at first i was very sceptical. my earlyest experience with fallout was new vegas on the pc. it had a lot of deph and i enjoyed the fact i had to repair my equipment, wich meant it was alot more planing involved.

Im GLAD that came back. also the fact you havbe to drink and eat while youa re on teh road. that gives it a survival feeling, the penalitys are harsh, leveling was fast, even solo. so far i mor eor less finished a trainingpack of missions wich shows the knacks. how to make cleanish water, and basic prpaired food to stay alive.

the new levelingsystem is realy amazing for each level you gain you can set one point in your Special. just the basic atributs, but you gain perc cards one rare and a few common (randomized in a sort of bosoterpack). these cards coem in teh special flavours and you can strap one per atribut for each point you set in.

PERK AND SKILLS I USED

i went with a perception agility and int focused skillset and had 0 in strengh, 3 perception, 1 in endurance, 0 carisma, 3 int, 3 in agility and 0 in luck.

in the endurance i used Butcher's Bounty (more meat when looting), Concentrated Fire ( Every V.A.T.S. attack on the same body part gains 10% accuracy and damage.), Green Thumb (You have a 25% chance to reap twice as much when harvesting flora.) wich enhanced my survival chances greatly

my single endurance went for Dromedary (All drinks quench thirst by an additional 15%.)

the INT went for First Aid (Stimpaks restore 10% more lost Health.) Master Hacker (Gain +1 hacking skill and terminal lock-out time is reduced.) and Makeshift Warrior ( Your melee weapons are 30% less likely to break and cheaper to repair.) sooner or later early on you will run out of ammo or get overwhelmed by enemys, and a big board with nails in was among my best friends.

and ym agility was used for Dodgy ( ap cost to avoid enemy attacks). Marathoner (Sprinting consumers 30% fewer action points.) becasue, in case of doubt bail out. and as last Point Goat Legs (reduces falldmg)

near the end of my first demotime i managed to aquire a small basis, all i had to do was clear out a few robots (lvl5) and insects, after claiming teh post i had to defend if against some ghouls. and when iw as done i was able to build my own little fort, begining with teh necesetys, gunturrets, campfire and a waterpump. new to this is tehf act i was able to build harvestingtools on certain palces wich gives over a time extra recoruces liek metal, nuklear material, scrap or fertilizer. wortyh to mention teh craftign for teh base has its own recources pool and was already quiet full as i begun.

summed up, i was not disapointet, fallout 74 is a welcoming combination of fallout new vegas and fallout 4 youc an completly solo most of the stuff. the map is okay in size, and there are not way to many people on it.you just pump into them a few times ( i did because we all begun at the same time and made the same stuff). i plan to become a trader with a good trading outpost investign my perccards for crafting and modifying equipment

“I don’t know why you’re freaking out!” Stiles gasped as you walked round the apartment until he grabbed you to make you stop before he got dizzy.

“Someone experimented on Derek, you want to save him on your own and the reason Scott convinced me to move with you to New York, was not because getting out of town would be good for us, but because you had the crazy idea of becoming a vigilante with powers you gained while failing to rescue him.” You ranted and he shrugged as he nodded.

“Yeah pretty much.” He smiled until you took a deep breath and pinched the bridge your nose as you sighed and shook your head.

“We grew up in beacon Hills. You got bit by a spider and got your powers! Spider-boy, not a werewolf, a spider” You flailed your arms and he groaned.

“Man, i’m a man!” He sighed and you giggled.

“I guess.” You muttered as you headed to your room.

“They want pictures of Superman.” You told Stiles as you plonked yourself on the seat next to Stiles who looked up from what he’d been typing with his tongue still poking out.

“Um, ok.” He mumbled and you nodded.

“Shall I call Derek or are you gonna do it?” You asked rolling your eyes when Stiles started to object and say you were wrong. “Seriously Stiles he looks like Derek after he shaves.”

“What, no… he’s not… oh. My. god. He’s Derek!” Stiles yelped and you held in a laugh as you rolled to your desk.

“Yeah now come on, Derek’s just taken a picture on Insta… seriously he took a picture of the city while flying, why does nobody believe me when I say he’s Superman!” You sighed as Stiles grabbed his camera and led you out before you could draw attention.

“I just said I believe you!” He hissed as you reached the elevator.

“He’s not even trying to make it hard to know it’s him.” You groaned.

Stiles dragged you along, hailing a cab as you kept track of the pictures Derek was posting, until they suddenly stopped at a government building. “Is he in there, how are we supposed to… oh right the whole spider-thing.” He chuckled when you got out of the cab and glared at him.

“You suit up and i’ll take the stairs.” You sighed, grabbing your ID as you dodged through the crowd that was pushing into the building trying to get a story. “And in Beacon Hills we just…” You hit the side door just below the lock and it loosened allowing you to swipe your reporters ID through the lock.

It took you a few minutes to jog all the way up stairs without getting spotted and when you did you found the confused wolf or Superman looking around. You jumped when something red and blue thumped into the window. “Ow, crap, Scott was right I need to practise landings.” You groaned and pinched the bridge of your nose as he skittered up the building and dropped into an open window.

“Derek!” You hissed, darting between armed soldiers as you hurried over to the tights clad man.

“(Y/N)... how do you know it’s me?” He asked and Stiles chuckled as he hopped over.

“I wouldn’t ask that it gets her pretty mad.” He whispered as you fake laughed.

“Derek! You literally shaved and painted yourself in primary colours!” You whisper yelled then pointed at the armed men gathering around you. “Why are you here because we’re about to get shot at!”

“I was taking pictures and I flew into the building.” He admitted and you groaned.

“I long for the dark brooding days.” You grumbled as Stiles slung a web just above the window he’d come through.

“Yeah the dark depressed werewolf days where we could barely make it through the week without being murdered by a teacher.” Stiles said sarcastically. “Hold on!”

Before you could object Stiles grabbed you and you squeezed your eyes shut as he swung out of the building and around the corner while Derek followed. “I hate it when you do that.” You groaned and tried not to look over the side of teh building.

“This is almost as high as our apartment.” Stiles teased while Derek started taking pictures.

“I think he’s a little… off since he got experimented on… we should really take care of him.” You whispered to Stiles who nodded.

“We have the sofa bed and there’s a job going at the paper.” Stiles answered quickly and you nodded.

“You know if we turned you into Strawberry-man put some yellow dots on you, the two of you would match.” You teased and he laughed, perching himself on the air conditioning unit.

“What kind of strawberry shoots spider webs?” He asked, pulling his mask half off as you leant against Derek, the three of you enjoying the sunset and snapping pictures of Superman.

My thoughts on Kizoku Tantei~

As Kizoku Tantei drama has ended I felt the need to actually write down my feelings regarding the last episode and the show as a whole.

This post contains major spoilers and my own opinions. Read at your own risk!

I really like detectives. Expecially the unrealistic or historic ones. The more original the plot is the bigger are the chances that I will actually love the show or book. 

In that aspect, Kizoku Tantei has undoubtedly succeeded in catching and keeping my attention. Some would call this kind of show “silly” or “childish” but I genuinely love this genre.

Almost every episode a new case was introduced, and we not only got to see the proper introduction of the characters involved but also hear two possible reasoning. Showing that there is always more than just one way to think for an investigator. The cases didn’t have the “Oh by the way there was also that one thing that changes the whole picture and we never talked about it!” factor, which also made it more enjoyable and easier for the viewers to try and solve the mysteries themselves. Also, as I watched the show, I started noticing that Gozen-sama drops the important clues in each episode. At first his comments seem silly and careless, as ways to spend time meanwhile his servants are busy gathering the clues. But actually everything he did had a meaning and played an important role in solving the case later on. I found this little detail very nice~ The other thing about this drama I adored were the servants! All of them are just so lovable! Even though we don’t know much about them….but I take that as yet another mystery. And I have nothing against some secrets!

So, considering all I have said so far, I cannot call this drama bad. I did look forward to new episodes each week. And if they would to make a second season or a SP, I would watch it no questions asked! But But But But

BUT! Of course there are things that I didn’t like.

(And now, if you are reading this and you are sensetive to any forms of criticism, please close this post and scroll scroll scroll! I’m not writing this to start a discussion or a debate. I simply want to write down my thoughts.)

The first thing I disliked was Aika, the heroine. Even though we got so know her and her past. And I understand that she went through some tough things…I just can’t bring myself to like her. And you know why? Not because she was stupid, or mean, or indifferent. No. Simply because the plot portrait her as a loser! Think about it! She only got right ONE case! ONE! How many cases did she do in the past!? How many innocent people did she accuse before Kizoku Tantei showed up?!!! How the heck did she get the detective licence?! I understand that it is hard work and all but come on! ONE case!(00;) And you know what? It would be SUPER EASY to make Aika better as a character! If she at least would aid the Servants or present important clues in at least SOME episodes! She would be so much more likable! At least to me….

The second thing I didn’t like was, lack of the information about the characters! As I said previously, I don’t mind teh mystery/think of something yourself factor. But imagine how cool it would be if we would get an episode about Gozen’s past! I want to know at least a bit more about his life! Who is he really? We never got the answer to this question. Even though Aika spend the whole season looking for it! Mystery is good but too much of it makes me lose the interest… And also I’m a sucker for the flashbacks, so….

And this brings us to the ending. And boy was it really an ENDING. It felt highly unrealistic! And not in a good way. The case is solved but guess what, Aika’s Master is alive! And she always was close to Aika, ah but wait, then what’s up with the illusions Aika was seeing?! Were they really the illusions or the actual Master wandered into the office and then disappeared as she pleased?! Why isn’t anyone questioning this?! And oh boy, the app AI - Giri, Aika was so found of, turned out to be the woman Aika thought has killed her Master, yet she felt no awareness or resent towards her! The whole “OMG, you are my App!” situation was so silly! That didn’t take the “I can’t belive this Sh*t”-cake though! The winner of it was the meeting between Aika and her Master! They haven’t seen each other in forever! They really liked each other and all we get is an awkward hug and “Bye, I’m off to Italy to get married! You solved one case, but hey if that doesn’t make you the real detective, then what does? Haha! Good for you! Ciao!” This! This! THIS!!! WHAT IS THIS EVEN?! Where is the drama?! Where is the exciting culmination this whole show was preparing me for?!

It felt as if the hey fired the writers and asked some random AD to just wrap everything up in 5 minutes!

I hoped for a second season or a SP! I really did, but how do you make a special where there is nothing else to unravel?! When everything is perfectly fine and everyone are happy!

“Kagi nakatta Heya“ never really explained who En-kun really was, leaving us wondering and hopping for more.

“NazoDinner” had an infinite possibility to solve more and more cases and also the possible evolving of the characters.

“Kizoku Tantei” had a ridiculously happy ending!

And the kiss ( or was it the kiss?) At the very end didn’t make anything better! You know what! No offence to all of the shippers out there, but I would like it better if Aika actually would say something beta as “Kizoku Tantei I will take any chance possible to prove that I can be a detective who doesn’t need your help!” Or something like that! These two didn’t have enough of lovely-dovely moments to start kissing out of the blue! It felt forced, fairytale-like! And once again! Not in a good way! Knowing that Gozen-sama is terrible womaniser I can assume that their relationship would be just another “avanture” for him. In that case, POOR AIKA!

I could go on for a few more pages about the silliness and “wtf”-ness of the last episode, but I won’t. Because I like this drama. It’s a shame that it took so long time to get translated because I wanted more of my friends to watch it with me as it was coming out . And…..maybe just maybe….we can hope for a special (^^;)

It's your ever faithful High Priest Rey here, sending the Moon Knight love to you as I wear an MK shirt in bed typing this and hoping not to annoy Eef with my keyboard clicking!

This is a bit of a turn of events - last episode we mentioned that we in essence have a free pass to do whatever we want for the next upcoming episode, since the ISLA RA I've been working on has unfortunately still been left unfinished (won't reveal the guest - it's a Loony and it's a great interview - we've just not had time to finish it!).

After mulling it around with some fellow Loonies, and considering Geronimo's awesome suggestion of the Moon Knight/Shang Chi one-shot, a few of our beloved Loonies have asked that I be put in the hot seat and be asked my four favourite all-time books!

I want to stress that I haven't nominated to do a show on myself nor talk about my own faves -I jibber and jabber long enough on the show, I usually think listeners out there would not want to have to hear more than they need! But those awesome Loonies in the Loony Bin (you know who you are!) have urged me to set up an ISLA RA on myself, and I'm just so honoured that they showed an interest, so the least I can do it honour that!! (Of course, I'm chuffed to be talking about my four fave books too! :P)

My ever awesome Connor(Shu) will be there to have a good ol' chat with, and it's been a while since we headed over to Grant Mansion, so will be good to see what other rooms the mansion has to offer...

Haven't sprung it on him yet, but will also see if one of our Loony regular guests is keen to join in on the action! REmember - ITK is an inclusive community! If you are keen to come on the show, we will make it happen! :) Hit us up on messenger and we'll sort it out! :)

Seeing Samuels again will be fun as well as our popular 'on location' reviews of the books!  Previously , we've gone to the Antarctic, New York City, Punisher's safe house and deep space to name a few...let's see where these books take us next!
