Aislinn was Niamh‘s elder sister.  The two of them were as different as day and night – whereas Niamh was tender hearted, friendly, and passionate, Aislinn was withdrawn, stoic, and struggled with expressing her emotions outwardly.  She often came off as cold and callous to other members of the pod, and preferred to spend most of her time with her sister.  Sometimes the two of them would bicker due to Aislinn’s rough attitude, but it wouldn’t be long before they made up.

She harbored a deep distrust of humans.  Their mother had warned them of human men who would steal their skins if given the chance, and it was something that she was deeply terrified of.  She was fiercely protective of her sister and whenever they went ashore she would hover, worried that someone would come after them.

Unfortunately, her focus on keeping Niamh safe was what led her to leave her own seal skin out in the open, allowing it to be stolen by Niall.  Though she would have went with him to spare her sister, Niamh offered to trade places, despite Aislinn’s insistence that she should simply flee while she could.

Niall accepted the bargain.  He let go of Aislinn’s skin and took Niamh’s instead.  For a moment, it seemed that she would be free, but then she felt him press the knife against her neck.  Her last memory was her Niamh’s tear streaked face.
