Alright, paperwork is signed, so it looks like we are ready to go in. That was a... very long waver they had me sign. Almost an inch thick!
Before I go in, I've got three working theories on what I believe is causing this.
1) Temporal anomaly caused by someone attempting some Pomeg abuse. A common side effect can be a person's pokemon appearing to fuse with another as their forms accidentally overlap one another. It isn't harmful to the pokemon, the effect is merely visual, though it could still mean a Decamark (or ??????????) Is present near by.
2) A Kantonian glitch pokemon has somehow become lost here. The closest I could find to the given description is Z ゥ, which takes the form of a cat like pokemon, but it's much closer to a Persian than a Skitty. It's harmless, though if being in this biome caused it to shift its form, we might not know what it's capable of. It has a variant that can produce a powerful visual toxin, but it shouldn't look like a cat in that case.
3) Gas leak. Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one.
Anyway I'll be updating as I get further in. I'm bringing Gilligan and Kadabra with me, as well as little Query. Protection wise I have pokeballs, some repels, and a P̸̺̩̈̎̒̔̽̔͌͊́̔͂̎̌̅͝a̸̛͇͕̩̤̜͈̭̘͂͆̂͊̍ň̶̮̈̋i̷̧̙̮̦̱̺͖̹̲̦͒̑̓̃͛͋͒̋̾͘͝͝c̸̨̞͍̲̣̬͉͔̈́̀̊͑͋̎̌̔̿̉́ ̸̧͖̹̭͕̘̥̙͍͙̠̃͌̉̈́b̴̛̳̞͉̞̥̬̓̇̂̈́͠u̴̥͔͍̻̞͛͒͆̒̓̕t̸̡͖̗̮̀̀̇̉̈͗̌̍t̷̬́̂͜͜ơ̷̦̩̟͉̳͙͇̠͉̼̈n̷̺̤͕̖̱̮̲͉̲͓͓̠͆̈́ͅ that I don't think I'll need to use.
I've also brought a few recording devices and a detector for temporal anomalies, so I think our bases are covered.
Wish me luck!

So I made it home last night!
A big thanks to @local-pokemart-worker for letting me in last night, and also... er... to the rescue team for helping me find a way out.
Results of last night's excursion was unfortunately a little inconclusive. We've narrowed down what didn't happen! You have in fact not discovered a hereto unknown pokemon (glitch variety or otherwise.) You do however have a Very large, strange Skitty in your Backrooms. And probably a lot more than that. Something played havoc with that video footage and I'm certain it wasn't the Skitty.
One thing that occurred to me, is that in testing we found that certain moves when used in battle while under Temporal Pomeg Effects can result in some... visual oddities occurring. Nothing harmful to the pokemon, but it can look very strange. If anyone around your mart has a pokemon that can use Sunny Day, that could have been the culprit.
Or it could have been the use of an undefined move. These are harder to predict since they're... well... undefined.
Either way, I think it would be best to leave that place alone. There is definitely a deeper anomaly going on down there but, I don't think it's something I'll be able to get to the bottom of myself. Devon's health insurance isn't THAT good.
But thanks again! Good news is that the weird Skitty is... really just a weird Skitty! You could probably make friends with it if you wanted!

That is the plan! Not to worry, I'm a trained professional with these sorts of Pokemon. I'm.. hoping that what's down there IS a pokemon anyway! So far it has been quiet down here. I took a bit of footage, but it's not very interesting.
[ID: Some video footage of a mostly darkened backroom lit with the light of a single flashlight. The picture is grainy, probably more than it should be considering that the equipment its being taken on is clearly of decent quality. A Kadabra can be seen in a few shots floating sleepily along. Otherwise its quiet] You were right about it being cold down here. I should have brought more than just my lab coat and a sweater.
Well, I'm going deeper! If things stay this typical I think we can chalk it up to a one time thing. I guess we'll see!

Ok! We have an update! I think I've found the pokemon that @local-pokemart-worker was talking about. My video camera is refusing to capture anything now, but I managed to get a photo.
[The photo is of... Skitty? It definitely looks like one, but it is absolutely massive. It appears to have only continued to grow, and its coloration is bright red. There is a large amount of video distortion in the picture as well. It would likely be even larger if it weren't lying down]
It appears to be sleeping right now. Maybe I'd stand a chance to try and catch it? If it's a pokemon it should still be catchable, and that would allow us to learn much more than we can here through observation.
I think I want to get some video first. I'll have to set up my alternate camera first. I'll update if anything more happens.

Odd that you should say that. We really weren't that deep yet when that first bit was recorded. Though, I'll admit, it feels like I've been here much longer than the time on my monitor has recorded. It's really been only about 20 minutes since I started but it feels like it's been closer to an hour.
I'm not detecting any temporal interference, but it FEELS like time is moving slowly. If that makes sense.
You're right about it getting colder further in. Kadabra had to come back to her ball. She's a bit delicate. Gilligan is fine, she can handle the cold pretty well.
Here's some footage from further down.
[ID: Video footage that appears even darker, and far less clear than before. The footage looks like it's flickering. There is a few minutes of footage that goes on like this. In the last few seconds it looks like the edges of the footage is moving strangely before it goes out]
Camera has been acting a little strange. I have a back up in case it stops working. Will continue to update

[ID: Another video, this one just a little less grainy. A bespectacled man is up close now to what appears to be the same Skitty (?) which has now grown even larger. It's giant head is in its paws, in position to be pet. S- Okay, okay, just one more of these. It let me get close to it. It looks like it isn't hostile. It's just... really big? And maybe a little genetically strange? It doesn't really feel like petting a Skitty. It's skin has a gummy consistency. It's a little like a ditto, but I don't think it can change forms like one. It doesn't seem to have any other abnormal qualities other than being incredibly large. Well, and it does this... ID: The man presses against its paw, and it moves like its made of jelly.
S- So that's this mystery solved. You have, er, a really big, weird skitty down here. I don't have an explanation for this one. I've been wandering around down here for two hours and it just keeps going, doesn't it? Backrooms are weird, and people shouldn't really come back here. Anyway I think that wraps things up.]
So, at this point I'm just going to wait for the rescue team. Probably won't update until tomorrow when I'm back at the lab, but at this point I don't think I'm in all that much danger.
I'm not sure how I'm going to write a report about this? Maybe we'll just call it a wash.

[ID: A video is uploaded with closed captions. It appears to be a large, sleeping creature. With every breath it shifts slightly in color. There is some camera distortion with each exhale.
S- Look at this. I'm glad this camera still works, because the pictures didn't do it justice. I think we can rule out the Z hypothesis... they don't tend to change color, and I'm not feeling any effects of a visual toxin.
ID: The skitty (?) Shifts a little in its sleep and seems to stretch a bit as the speaker continues.
S- I guess that just leaves us with Decamark. I haven't seen a pokemon impacted by one this way before. It might just be visual alteration. I haven't gotten close enough yet to....
ID: As the speaker talks the Skitty (?) Turns its head and stares directly into the camera. It's eyes flash red in the direct light.
S- Oh...oh my its-..
ID: The Skitty (?) lets out a long meow and it's neck slowly elongates as it dashes after the camera. Footage cuts here. ]
So just to update, I am safe! For now! It put up a bit of a chase but I think it got bored and stopped after a bit. I'm going to try to take some more footage now that it isn't acting hostile.
Um.. in case it wasn't clear I'm also officially requesting a rescue @local-pokemart-worker
If.. that doesn't go through I can probably still figure something out. It's just very cold down here.
