atlas coughs from his bed, still a bit weak and weary from the after effects of the medication that's fighting back against the infections that plague his wound after his encounter with that previous assassin. his throat was dry, feeling a bit light - headed from dehydration as he weakly opens his eyes up to jianyu, still at his side. " jianyu ... " he begins softly, coughing slightly to the side. " ... water ? "

ARMS CROSSED OVER HIS chest and eyes closed, Jianyu had been merely resting when he heard Atlas’ coughs. Sleep would not claim him while he was on ‘watch duty’, though now that his nerves had calmed significantly, its whispers were quite tempting in the relative quiet of that infirmary. It was kept at bay, however, his focus still very much on the king resting upon white linen. Shifting in his seat he leaned forward, his hand resting atop the other’s chest above the heart and rubbing soothingly. There wasn’t much he could do aside from this, though he knew such a gesture, despite its simplicity, would be appreciated all the same. As soon as Atlas’ coughing fit came back under control, he slipped his hand away once again, his eyes darting to the water that sat nearby long before wounded king mentioned it. Pushing himself up from his seat, he reached for the jug to pour the other a glass, brows furrowing a little as he pondered whether Atlas would even be able to drink from this without spilling. Awkwardly he looked from that clear glass to them, and then back to the glass again.
An idea came to mind; one that wasn’t entirely…orthodox (by probably ninety-nine percent of any healer or doctor), but was…well… Jianyu sighed, a hand dragging down the side of his face as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. ❝Forgive me, Atlas, for what I’m going to do next.❞ He hoped that the other was so medicated that this would be swiftly forgotten later on – that Atlas would think this all but a dream and nothing more. Downing some of that cold water, he didn’t swallow it, rather he leaned over the other, fingers gently gripping Atlas’ chin so that he could part his mouth just a little before he leaned ever closer to press his lips against theirs. A thousand thoughts filled his mind in that instance, although most importantly, he felt flustered. There might have been a completely different way of going about this, and yet here he was, probably choosing the path less traveled. Water passing between lips, he only pulled back when Atlas swallowed, the back of his hand lifting to wipe his mouth as he quickly turned his gaze away.
Gods…just strike him down right now already. When would the ground swallow him whole? When would he be allowed to mercifully fade from existence? ❛Calm down, Jianyu. It’s just – this isn’t that big a deal.❜ Y-Yeah, this wasn’t a big deal. This was for someone’s health. He was the one making it weird. Had this been anyone else, it would have still been...awkward, but this…it was…this was just different for a wide variety of reasons, one of which being that Atlas wasn’t ‘anyone else’. Sighing once again, he drank what was left in the glass, leaning down once more to repeat his previous action. Jianyu tried not to think about anything else, doing his best to silence the loudest of his thoughts to the best of his ability -- a feat that proved to be no easy task in the long run. As soon as he was finished, he pulled away a little quicker than intended this time, placing the glass back down upon the stand with a faint thump. Plopping back down onto his seat, he slid down a little, leaning back just enough so that his eyes were glued on the lines on the ceiling rather than anywhere in Atlas’ direction. If the king was looking in his direction, he was certainly doing his best to pretend he wasn’t.
