Would you believe that this was pretty much done for so long, but it took us WEEKS of procrastination before the chimp head above his name was done? Yeah, us, let's just not talk about that.

We love how Jol's dorm uniform design came out! It's got a bit of an original flare to it, we especially like the vest and the suspenders. Oh, and ignore the dorm emblem on his hat instead of a personalized thingie, it took us too much effort to replicate and we refuse to just trash it ^^' ^^'

We finished reading "Book of Toytoriya" and we have thoughts on Jol's feelings about the whole thing! Spoilers for "Book of Toytoriya" below!!!

Jol is usually the one to be on the lookout for any kind of trouble at the dorm, mostly intruders and the like. We imagine that Lotsie would ask him to be watchful for even more - simply anything weird or unusual - during the Festival of Memories. That way, Lotsie would know whenever there's another weak-of-heart student freaking out, or anything else that could potentially disrupt his precious time loop. Which Jol wasn't aware of, obviously. He just thought that the dorm leader was extra careful and wanted the Festival of Memories to go smoothly. And Jol couldn't say no. He wanted to be in Lotsie's good graces.

However, the festival comes with more than just spotting freak outs or telling on students that claim to have a weird sense of deja vu. It's also a lot of backstage work for the rehearsals and plays, since Jol is the one who handles the sound for the performances. Add to that the somehow worsening fatigue because of unknowingly working continuous night shifts while locked in a time loop.

So, when Jol finally learned the truth, he wasn't mad about the time loop itself or the reason behind its existence in particular. He honestly wouldn't want to leave Toytoriya either, a place that reminds him of his childhood years. What really ticked him off is that Lotsie gave him EXTRA WORK on top of festival preparations and put THAT in a TIME LOOP, essentially multiplying the extra work by INFINITY. And Lotsie did that knowingly, and was okay with it! All the while Jol's extra work served to keep this infinite loop (at least in some way). While everyone else was locked in a perfect celebration, Jol was locked in a self-perpetuating motion machine of fatigue.

He felt tired. And tricked. And dumb. And, most of all, real mad. He's not the type of guy to throw hands, of course, but let's just say that his famous loyalty wavered that moment.

After the loop was over, he took a break from his security duties. Or a vacation. Or quit entirely. Nobody knows yet. He doesn't speak to anyone about it. Secretly, Jol feels sorry, thinking that working for Lotsie puts some of the blame on him, too. Maybe that's why he doesn't like talking about it.

A pretty calm and laidback student of Toytoriya, Jol seems like the guy who lives in his own world and doesn’t care about what’s going on around him. But some already know it’s a misconception. After all, he wouldn’t be in charge of the dorm’s security for sleeping on the job. Some students swear they can’t shake off the feeling like Jol can watch them with his eyes closed...

Personality

Jol is the kind of chill and laidback person you’d expect to see hanging around aimlessly and doing nothing. And while, yes, he takes things easy most of the time and naps in the back of the class, Jol is incredibly attentive - he just doesn’t show it. Jol has this skill of paying attention to small details, to all whispers he hears around him, without anyone realizing. Nobody would think you’re staring AT them when you’re known for staring blankly into a wall.

It also helps Jol’s reputation that he’s usually silent. And whenever he does speak, it’s a soft whisper. Jol likes this image of himself and tries to maintain it. Nevertheless, he is perfectly able to keep a scary aura around himself or give you a death glare if you wrong him in some way. He’d never engage in an actual confrontation (neither physical nor verbal), of course, but he will tell on you to an authority figure.

UM: Eyes in the Sky - Allows the user to see and hear what’s going on in a certain location from a high angle. When using this spell, the user is vulnerable in a sense that they don’t see or hear what’s going on around them.

Fun Facts 🥁 • Jol used to play villainous roles on the stage and was incredibly good, especially with ones involving maniacal laughter. He stepped down from acting when he lost his voice (it’s back now, don’t worry).

• He got approached by several important show business people offering him a great future in acting, but Jol decided to wait until graduation - he wants to enjoy the childish experience of Toytoriya as long as he can.

• Jol also thinks that Zackery’s got real potential and acts as an old evil mentor to him. Jol says the reason he stopped acting is because he can’t possibly compare to Zackery.

• Now Jol works behind the scenes providing special effects (light and sound).

• Plays drums in the Light Music Club.

• Jol’s parents put a lot of faith into him and taught him that connections are everything.

• His UM makes it fairly easy to keep an eye out for students sneaking in or out, which he does. Late into the night. Hence the eye bags and napping habits.
