So I have some good news regarding my mother — she should finally be able to come home soon! Naturally, this means I will be moving in with her soon as that's always been the plan, and I've been preparing for that and making sure we have everything we'll need for our place. I'll be a bit scarce and slow to get to things, but it's all falling into place at last! I'll still be working in the background when I can both here and on my other hub, but don't expect too much at this time haha.

This was the third night the two had a green eyed baby sobbing in their bed about the bad man. It had started out as a normal nightmare children had nightmares--the dark knew that Sizhui did and he sometimes still did have nightmares. Not like this though, ones that led the little boy climbing into the bed clutching his bunny and pulling on the blanket, or sleep robe of whichever parent he could reach.

The tot was tucked between them Sizhui had given him something to let him rest in a warm cup of milk. He was concerned and it showed in the set of his mouth, usually more given to smiles and happiness. Nothing of Lan Sizhui's posture was even close to being happy. Normally eyes darkened with anger but Sizhui's lightened. "The Depths' of your soul knows that he is right." he said as he stroked the little boy's dark hair back from his brow.

Their little boy Lan Lǐwù was the best of them, he had Jingyi's dancing green eyes and Sizhui's little smile. He had the mole at the side of his eye the way Sizhui did and he had Jingyi's infectious laughter. Something Sizhui had heard far too little of lately.

"He's been having the same nightmare for three nights in a row. Dreams by nature are meant to be hard to remember and of course maluable because it is our sleeping mind often working through a problem." he spoke in a low whisper. "It is rare to recall in such vivid detail what our son is saying." and while he was too young to have all the words he got his point across very well.

"I think Father Wei may be right, we might have to go investigate this, see if this manor our son is seeing is real and if it is.." his lips twitched faintly at the side. "We put an end to the boogieman." Sizhui was normally the more calm of the pair the one willing to work out a none violent solution but he was irked beyond measure--not from a lack of sleep but from little Lǐwù's lack of sleep . "We will get Hangung Jun to watch our baby bunny." he said "Then we will travel." Wei Wuxian telling them if it was a nightmare caused by someone rather than something the way to fix it was to stop the person. "This isn't going to be a Night Hunt, this is going to be a witch hunt." he said softly "I don't know whyLǐwù might be connected maybe it was the method of conception, maybe it is his own inner tie to the Dao." he said sighing. He leaned his head against Jingyi's shoulder taking comfort in the nearness. "I'd leave tonight but I don't want our little bun to wake to us not being here."

CONTENT WARNING: fire, house fire, pyrophobia ( actual images show under the read more, so don't view them if you feel the pictures would be triggering for you. )

Let me start this off by saying this first: I am fine, and so is my mother. The fire did not start in the place we're renting, but instead my grandma's house where I previously lived and have most of my stuff still. My dad was the only one home when the house caught fire late last night due to a lightning strike as my grandmother is visiting some of her friends in Tennessee, but he is okay and alive. The fire was mostly contained in the kitchen, and apart from it being unsalvageable, most of the other rooms are okay. There's still a ton of smoke and water damage, but this fire could've been a lot worse, especially considering that the house uses gas. I'm still reeling from it, along with waiting on the insurance company for news on what to do ( I don't think we can go through things and move what we want to save out of the house until they've come down and assess the damage ), but the most important thing was that not one was severely hurt. And while I know I'm not the most active person here, I was actually getting stuff done in the background, but I wouldn't expect too much from me at this time. Thank you guys for being as patient and as understanding as you have been with me.

He had been tired but he had other commitments he had to observe before he could with a clear conscious return to Mulan. Normally Sizhui would have just crashed out on her couch for an hour but he had to tutor another student. It was his job, and after that he had guquin practice with his father. He could skip neither. He was after all an obedient child. She had moved closer for school and she had her own small apartment. Sizhui still lived at home. Not that his parents were always there anyways. Lan Wangji was a international renowned performer and his father Wei had taken to being a doctor. A path Sizhui was following on both accounts. He had stopped off to buy flowers at a small stand to take to her.

It was a leisure walk to get there he had paused to talk to his Uncle Ning who had a Dojo set up. Explaining he was going to visit Mulan and make sure she was alright after math. Since math made many of his friends brain dead after tests, or so they had said. He, on the other hand loved math.

It was with flowers in hand he arrived at her door and noticed something. There was smoke and the smell of something burning. Now Sizhui rarely was alarmed by things but Mulan's apartment might be on fire. He would have under any other circumstances knocked to be let in.

Instead he caught the handle to the door turned it and put his hip into it. he would have to fix it later, or pay her landlord too which ever they decided upon but there was certainly give and he rushed into the house. "Mulan--are you alright ?" he called it was a bit too smoky to see where she might be in this.

Was she alright and what caught fire ?

Another update for you all — I am going to be moving very soon. If all goes well, that'll be happening sometime around the end of this month / beginning of September, and I'm already busy packing.
