with regards to the last reblog, i'd like to make the case that vagueblogging/vagueventing can actually incite more drama than just being direct with people.
because you're not directly addressing the problem, you're going to cause a lot of people to get anxious you're talking about them. take it from me, because this happened in personal experience. i once mistook a vaguepost for an attack on my friend who had a duplicate muse, and because of that, we were practically STALKED and lied about for two years (perhaps even longer) until i chewed out the person publicly for doing so. i hold no ill will towards the other person involved, and i hope they've made steps to become a better, more responsible person.
years before that, someone who was extremely abusive to my friends and me was vagueblogging about our RPC and how WE were the toxic bigots they needed to get away from, shortly before we called them out for literal predatory behavior and their own bigotry. if you know, you know.
point is, vaguing is not the solution. sure, maybe you'll feel a little better for five nanoseconds, but then what? you haven't actually resolved the problem. you haven't actually addressed what's going on with you. chances are, you're now more likely to let the issue fester and blow up to become a bigger problem than it would've been if, you know, properly addressed it.
i've previously stated i want this to be the year we be more direct with each other, and that still stands true. dedicating an ENTIRE BLOG to enabling people to latch onto resentment and allow negative feelings to fester is a huge cartwheel in the wrong direction. if someone accidentally upsets you, talk to them. if someone is a danger to the community, EXPOSE THEM.
(yes, you can reblog.)
ps. addressing the general problems of a whole community is not equivalent to vaguing.
