These words and Adora's expression... they just get to me. It's that one moment when you realize the person you grew up with and you care the most about is just... aggressively ignorant about the world around them. You're conflicted. Disappointed. Hurt. How could someone you love so much be this terrible of a person?

Why am I only* ever compelled to write fanfics about the blond super/magical powered female paragon/hero main characters** of TV shows?

Like I get the main characters are the characters I spend the most time with and that means I probably end up thinking about them the most, and that because the show is about them, changing something about them causes the most change to the plot.

And I get the magic/super powers because that's cool.

And I get hero/paragon because I like good aligned characters.

And I can understand that as a woman I would be more pulled to female led media.

What I don't get is that I consume a lot of non TV media, so why is it only TV shows? And why are they all blonde?

*There are two characters/media that don't fit this mold and both are not TV show and both are male, and only one of them is blond, but they get way less brain time than the others proportionally

**One of them is technically the secondary main character for only two seasons and not the true main character of the show

The Kingdom of Oscuralos kept to the shadows, for the most part. Its princess orphaned at a young age, the land withdrew from its Etherian neighbors and all but closed the gates. Of course, darkness couldn’t hide a Runestone from the Horde forever. But the Umbral Ruby was concealed in the deepest pits of the caverous region, and Faith would keep the flame of resistance alive in her heart as long as it took to burn out all the agents and demons of the Fright Zone.

The other princesses never needed anything from Oscuralos, and it was just as well. Not that they didn’t have anything to offer, but the demon-slaying regal was predominantly focused on fending for herself and her people. Which made the arrival of this golden girl, this Adora, all the stranger.

“How can I be sure you’re not a Horde spy? No one but their soldiers have come to visit in some time. I was certain we were forgotten.”

Faith was willing to bet the other princesses hadn’t even noticed her at Princess Prom. Not that she made much of an effort to be seen, shadowy as she was.
