The unknown voice caused Summer to lift her eyes off the screen of her phone and to redirect them towards its source. Usually, she never ate alone in the cafeteria, but all her girl friends had other engagements for that lunch break, even Nancy, and there was no way in hell and any dimension that she would sit with Morty.

Being his sister was bad enough. Allowing herself to be seen sharing space with him voluntarily would have meant the death of her high school social life. She liked being invited to cool parties, thank you very much.

The girl who was standing in front of her now looked vaguely familiar. She wasn't one of her classmates, and she was almost sure that she wasn't in her brother's class either.

Summer's brows knitted together for a moment, as she tried to remember where she might have seen the other. In the corridors, probably. Oh, yeah, right. She was one of the kicks who got kicked around by the local bullies.

Green eyes scanned their background, looking bored but in truth being very attentive. Most of the other tables were busy and the ones that weren't had to be left empty because they had been claimed at the start of the year by this or that part of the school elite. So, if she had told the girl to get lost, she would have probably been forced to go and eat outside the cafeteria, which would have been like begging some idiot to come and torment her.

"Yeah, sure, whatever," she finally answered, dropping her gaze back on her phone. She could be merciful and let the girl have some respite for once. "There's, like, plenty of space. Knock yourself out."
