A question about Joanna!lookalike reader.
When she leaves for the north because robert wants her to be able to have the freedom to express her self. is it at first just to stay their, or was there disscusstion of marriage with the Stark family before being sent off?
Also i see that jon snow may be intrested in Joanna!lookalike reader👀
Prehaps when request open i might ask for something about that
I like to imagine that not only is Robert’s first thought to get Joanna!Lookalike!Reader out from the suffocating and distressful environment she’s in but that he would also go with her himself to make sure she gets there safe and settles in alright. Not to mention he definitely wants to fill Ned in on everything going on, spilling all the absolute piping hot tea, and you can bet that big man isn’t leaving without at least discussing the idea of some near future betrothing going on.
You can also be assured that when Robert and the Reader take off for the North, it’s late into the evening/early morning as to not have Cersei finding out cause she would surely throw a massive bitch fit. Robert wouldn’t want her to know of any of his plans to have the Joanna!Lookalike!Reader reside in the North for however long she needs to. Not to mention it would only spite her all the more that she have no knowledge of the Reader’s being sent off.
A part of me likes to imagine that Jaime is well aware of these plans, hell he’s probably on watch when Robert and the Reader leave but he keeps his mouth shut cause he knows deep down that Joanna!Lookalike needs this more than ever after the breakdown they had at dinner that one night. Unlike his sister and father, Jaime does see past the Joanna resemblance and acknowledges the Reader as their own person. And their breakdown just opened his eyes even more so to how much of a damaging effect this has had on them this whole time.
I feel like Robert not only wants to marry Joanna!Lookalike!Reader to Robb (or even Jon👀) to have his and Ned’s blood come together but also to give an excuse for the Reader to stay in Wingerfell and not have to come back home if they don’t want to.
You can bet your sweetcheeks that Jon is gonna be interested in Joanna!Lookalike. Especially given that I completely see the Reader just absolutely letting loose. This is the only chance they get to be as free as they’ll ever be and they’re going to take full advantage of it. They want to run wild, they want to get dirty, they want to not have to be perfect, they just want to be content as they are and I think that would really catch Jon’s attention. There will also of course be a sort of ‘friendly’ yandere rivalry between Jon and Robb for the Reader, not only for their attention but eventually for their hand in marriage as well. At least, it’ll start out friendly enough until things get serious.
If the Reader were to choose Jon, I like to think Robert would be a little more lenient about it. He’s definitely going to talk to Ned about legitimizing his bastard if that’s the case but I almost kinda feel like Robert would let it slide if that’s truly what the Joanna!Lookalike!Reader wanted given everything they’ve gone through and had put on them. Hell, he’s the fucking king he could legitimize Jon himself if he so wanted. And don’t tell him otherwise.
Or the Reader may as well happily give up their royal status if it meant they finally could be who they wanted to be with the person they truly wanted to be with. I could see that being the first thing that crosses Joanna!Lookalike’s mind when the idea of marrying Jon comes up. Heck, the Reader may purposely seek Jon out for his bastard status as an excuse to sever those ties with their suffocatingly overbearing family back home.
Gods, could you imagine yan!Jon Snow (especially Book!Jon Snow) finding out his darling was only with him for his bastard status and so they could strip themself of everything that came with the family they were a part of? As much as that would all hurt, I think what would hit him hardest is if his darling didn’t even remotely share the same romantic feelings for his as he did, not a shred of it. Maybe the Reader liked Jon platonically and saw him as a safer option to some degree. I could definitely see him guilt tripping/manipulating them into being intimate with him. Even if it’s holding his hand or kissing him on the lips. But those small acts would only last him so long, he’s starved after all and he wants nothing more than to feel all of the Reader’s love they have to give. Mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Re: Your tags on that Cersei/Jaime/Brienne post. You don't think Jaime is the valonqar?
there are many things speaking for jaime being the valonqar, but I've never been 100% sold on it. been thinking about the prophecy again and it strikes me as curious that maggie uses the article the over the pronoun your.
Tumblr media
she is similarly vague when it comes to cersei‘s future king-husband. cersei clearly expects to wed prince rhaegar, then changes these expectations to mean she‘s marrying king rhaegar, and ends up marrying king robert.
Tumblr media
I like how the rule of three applies here, kind of how it could apply to the valonqar bit itself, with cersei believing it to be tyrion, the readers expecting it to be jaime, and it ending up being someone else entirely.
in the same scene maggie intentionally uses the pronoun she in combination with death to hint at cersei killing her friend melara shortly after this.
Tumblr media
strikes me as odd that maggie would be so explicit with the pronouns of melara‘s killer and not with cersei‘s.
some chapters after that a tyroshi man presents cersei with not-tyrions head and uses the expected pronoun in combination with valonqar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
intentional on grrm‘s part? idk. I‘ve always liked the idea of cersei bringing about her doom on her own; that she herself is the valonqar. maybe she chokes on some poison that was intended for someone else? or maybe I just don’t relish the idea of jaime killing his twin sister.

If Rhaenyra married Daemon while Laenor was still alive and gave birth to Aegon and viserys, wouldn’t they be bastards too?
And if they are then Daenerys’ line shouldn’t technically inherit the throne. The next legitimate heir would have been Rhaena’s or Baela’s children but nobody knew
exactly anon, the show wanted to avoid the ‘bury your gays’ trope, but accidentally made bastards of all of rhaenyra’s children. or they could be legitimate: my personal pet theory is that the little rowboat that laenor escaped in was unfortunately ambushed by a mercenary ship, courtesy of daemon.
daenerys shouldn’t inherit the throne because the kingdom was rightfully conquered by robert, so she doesn’t have a claim to the IT by succession anymore. the targaryen line was replaced by the baratheon line. if we go by ‘lawful’ inheritance the rightful king is stannis and his heir is shireen, but again, the throne was (kinda) conquered by the lannisters, so now the baratheon line was replaced by the lannister line.
daenerys can win the 7K by conquest, and the ‘rightful heir’ thingy will only be a way to make her reign be accepted more easily. one big thing in asoiaf is that no one has an inherent right to the throne, and often the kingdom is gained by bigger army diplomacy. robert admitted it: he came and won the war, now he’s king. maesters brought up his grandmother rhaelle as a way to give him more legitimacy, but what could they do really? try and get him out of the throne and start another war?
if daenerys wins her conquest war the lords will make many excuses about her being ‘the rightful queen’ because she’s the last targaryen, but the truth is that no one can keep her from taking the throne even if she wasn’t. until another dude pops up and takes the throne from her and arguments about this new person being the rightful heir if we go by this tradition or blah blah come up again.

Ik Rhaenys looked at Rhaenyra and said “twin🗣️ where have you been🗣️”
I think they all had fertility struggles. They weren’t sterile but all of them had issues hence why they conduit conceive easily. Rhaenys had an affair and got pregnant by accident. They all needed potent side pieces.
Side note: Also, notice how Aenys had multiple kids, his mother wasn’t fertile at all, since in all them years she didn’t get pregnant by her husband and his dad wasn’t fertile either since he had two wives and the children? Cauldron born and 90% likely Bastard. Yet he (Aenys) popped kids after after kids and Jaeherys too. As Maury said “IN THE MATTER OF AENYS TARGARYEN! AEGON YOU ARE NOT THE FATHER).
We could say that Aenys had kids because of his Velaryon wife but the conqueror’s were all half velaryon and the babies? No where to be found.
Regardless ,I still think,Rhaenys was having affairs (and I don’t judge 😘) wether Aenys is bastard or not. Everytime bring it up, I’m getting ganged on as if I said I don’t support women’s wrongs.
it would also conveniently explain the tension between visenya and rhaenys, especially if visenya KNEW that aenys was likely not aegons actual son and yet.......he gets to be the heir to the thrown???? a bastard???
also for YEARS visenya was not able to bear any children despite being married to aegon for over a decade, which already led to rumors that she might be barren and that aegon should even take another wife after rhaenys death. visenya already had to deal with rhaenys being the favorite, but now she could potentially be replaced completely?? all I'm saying is that visenya is not the type to sit by and watch this happen, and she would definitely be the kind of character to turn to......other means of procuring a child.
because how CONVENIENT is it that all the sudden visenya becomes pregnant with a SON the very next year. and then she tries to push that very son onto the throne because she still believes that aenys isn't the proper fit, even though he's technically the firstborn son
I'm jyst saying, the rumor that aegon never actually had any legitimate children is not one that can be fully rebuffed. these targaryens are absolutely nuts and the idea that the targaryen lineage is based of a complete farce is too tantalizing to completely ignore. and there's a reason these rumors were written in, because GRRM could have also easily written things different and given aegon like 12 sons or something....but he didn't

why does this fandom act like dany never suffered again after she gains her dragons? i saw an improperly tagged post on my for you page here and in the tags people are genuinely saying that after dany births her dragons, she never experiences sexual violence or oppression again unlike sansa who has to use her "ladies charms" to survive. i couldn't believe my eyes as i read tag after tag explaining why dany is a girlboss who never experiences anything bad after agot. what is wrong with tha fandom?
It's cause! A subsection of Stansas have adopted the show's (misogynistic) logic that suffering = deserves a good ending, so they want to play the suffering Olympics so Sansa ends up looking the most deserving of a happy ending. They're constantly downplaying other female characters and their trauma to fit their logic. Dany has dragons -> which offers her protection -> which means she hasn't suffered as much as Sansa. Arya has a sword -> which means she can fight back -> which means she hasn't suffered the same way Sansa has. Cersei has power -> which means she has control over her circumstances -> which means she hasn't been victimized the same way Sansa has. And so on and so forth. It's nothing but thinly veiled misogyny based on fundamentally misinterpreting the books cause the story being told doesn't make their favorite look special enough for them. Even a cursory glance at the books would prove these takes incorrect but something tells me they haven't taken the time to actually read them.

Game of Thrones if it was written by Ryan Condal and Sara Hess: Cersei and Catelyn are in love, the show is all about them getting back to each other.
give this pairing to a fanfic writer and we’ll have a well-written 200,000 words story by next week, condal and hess on the other hand? cersei is now a religious nut whose father manipulated her when she was 15 and her fans refuse to let her grow past that, she abhors incest and anything related to it, she's a dutiful wife to robert but secretly pines for her lost love catelyn whom she's shown to have max two conversations with. all of catelyn's children are now bastards that she's passing off (and fuck her for doing so, am i right? we don’t condone bodily autonomy in this universe 😠) cersei spends the years since their fall out (obviously do to the big bad evil men controlling their every decision) trying to get said kids executed but don't worry though! catelyn doesn't actually give a shit about any of her children and is willing to throw them all away for a childhood fling, and so is cersei!!!
i hate the show :)))

omg, don't support inc3st irl and in fiction... that shii is nasty...
I have never nor will ever support incest in real life. Nor have I made any statements of real life support on this blog or statements in personal.
I usually would tell you to just do your own research and advise you to leave this blog right now if you do not want to see any more disturbing content. Unfollow me. Your mental health is more important than compromising it to read a couple of fanfics.
But! If you are willing to lend an open mind and ear to learning anon, then I am more than willing to teach what I know :)
---
Since you are sending an ask to my blog I assume you already follow me or are at least reading my content. In which my friend, I have talked and written about:
cannibalism, kidnapping, unhealthy borderline obsession, psychopathy and sociopathy, dismemberment of familial limbs, nonconsensual kissing and nonconsensual touching and forced sexual acts, and forced dynamics.
Which is why I must ask: Do you not react to those? Are those also not nasty in their own respects? Why is it incest in particular that you are disgusted?
And not just in my works, but fiction in general.
Should your not read about Oedipus Rex, as it is a long hailed classic play about a son marrying his mother? or Lolita because it contains pedophilia?
Truth be told anon, I doubt that fictional incest will ever go away soon. It has been around for as long as the 1700s (The Castle of Otranto and The Monk), and will continue to be around for it is long-standing, staple, horror element in literature (Gothic and Horror. e.g., Flowers in the attic, Crimson Peak, and The Secret History)
Incest carries many themes, and can even dissect societal issues in fiction. Issues that incest talk about within its literary simblosm include things like the patriarchy, misogyny, financial and racial elitism, homophobia and yes, even sex and sexuality. Incest can all be that— an important allegory to many societal issues.
...Or y'know, it could just be... well, hot. The same way unhealthy relationships, borderline obsessions, criminal mafia organizations, dubcon and noncon, kidnapping and captivity and other controversial things are hot and sexy. It's fiction. A safe imaginary and unreal space where NONE of these things are actually happening.
I ask you these anon so that you may also ask yourself. These questions are not meant to prove you wrong, but merely to give you a guiding hand and as we learn together to try and understand why we find these things wrong.
"We are more concerned about the bad taste of a thing than its real harm. But moral sensibilities should be guided by understanding, not by mere emotional reactions." (John Stuart Mill, On Liberty)
If you have reached this far anon, I'm happy that you have tried to be open minded and give this a read :)!
Please do feel free to not censor yourself next time anon. This is a platform free of monetization and purity-driven censorship. We can talk about these things like free adults.

It okay, I know you've been busy and Tumblr sometimes eats the asks and trust me, I try not to he too persistent Bout asks and I deeply apologize :(
In the ask, that scene where Tyrion played the game of thrones with Petyr, Lord Varys and Maester Pycelle about who he was going to propose a marriage between Myrcella with either Robin Ayrryn of the Vale (it's been awhile since I've watched it), Theon Greyjoy of the Salt Islands or even to Doane so she would be safe if King's Landing fell
What IF he also did the same thing for Joanna!lookalike? He knows that ever since Joffrey became king, things have been going down and Tyrion worries if his nieces will live through it; so thats when he sets plans into motion:
He tells Petyr Baelish that he plans to marry Myrcella to Robin Arryn and Joanna!lookalike to Robb Stark in hopes of ending this war
To Lord Varys, he tells him that he plans to wed Myrcella to Theon and Joanna!lookalike to Euron Greyjoy (not like he really would, he just testing for allies, plus Cersei kill him)
And he tells Maester Pycelle about marrying his nieces off to Dorne; when Myrcella wedded to Tristan I think his name was, and Joanna!lookalike to Oberyn Martell
And of course, Cersei is furious when she finds out as not only is it an insult to her, but to HER oldest daughter; forced to marry a man half her age just like Cersei was to Robert, plus Oberyn already has a paramour AND bastard daughters! So it's basically an insult to her daughter!! 😤
But Tyrion wants his nieces safe, especially for his eldest to he away from her overbearing family, forced to live in the same place as his mother as they basically dehumanize her from being her own person; so its best for her to he spirited away, have a breather away from her suffocating family... :(
In Tyrion’s mind he’s doing everything in his power to ensure Myrcella and Joanna!lookalike!Reader will be safe and protected but to Cersei this is just him trying to take away her precious children and a way to just simply hurt her. She sees nothing about this being for either of her girls’ safety. How could selling both her daughters to treacherous men in a cruel world come anywhere close to being protection??? The best protection either girl has is Jaime or the Mountain and both of them are right there in King’s Landing so why even bother outsourcing.
If Tyrion is so hellbent on sending away one of her daughters then Cersei would much rather have Joanna!Lookalike!Reader stay by her side where they belong. As much as she loves her darling Myrcella, Cersei can’t have the Reader taken away from her again.
Meanwhile, Tyrion isn’t just trying to keep his nieces safe, he’s also trying to get Joanna!lookalike far away from Cersei. He knows his sister and he knows she’ll only take Joanna!lookalike down with her in the end. At least this way the Reader will have a better chance at having some semblance of a fulfilling life so long as they’re away from Cersei and Tywin.
Speaking of which, without a doubt Cersei will run to their father to tell him all about what Tyrion is trying to do. Tywin will surely put a stop to it, at least he’d put a stop to Joanna!lookalike!Reader’s proposals. Myrcella would still end up being shipped off one way or another, sooner or later. But not the Reader, they’re off limits after all. And Tywin would have some very choice words for Tyrion for even thinking of doing such a thing with Joanna!lookalike!Reader in the first place.

I just realised that Aegon’s line might not have actually ended, it did end with his children with Helaena and the history books. But in the series we were shown his bastard child and Ser Arryk presumed there would be many more. So if any of them survived and their descendants survived Aegon’s line could still exist in game of thrones but they would be part of the smallfolk
oh i love the idea of some random white haired families in the main line of asoiaf, just chilling in king’s landing. some of them like to bathe in really hot water and others have weird dreams they just ignore lol.
but i think most importantly, aegon’s impact on his world is more than just the children he had. he mirrors some great rulers who didn’t have children (or survived them all), like alexander the great or elizabeth the first. even characters like daeron the first and aemon the dragonknight never had children but they’re remembered often because of their actions. daenerys will probably never have children of her own but she will be remembered for centuries to come for her deeds and dragons.
like it or not, westeros was never the same after aegon the second, just like it never would be the same after aegon the first. he had the most striking dragon in westeros, and the closest bond with him. he wrote the laws of succession in blood (unfair as they were), he buried all his enemies, he died with a crown on his head.

It’s so unfair the way fans underestimate Cersei’s love for Jaime when in the last book after everything that happened between them, even after she found out that he went with another woman instead of saving her, she is still worried about him and when Kevan says that he might be dead this is what she says “If he were dead, I would know it. We came into this world together, Uncle. He would not go without me.” It’s so sad that even when they’re estranged they still love each other so much!
Like I've said, I think the underlying opinion a lot of people hold is that love is redemption and they can't fathom that Cersei and Jaime can unconditionally love each other in the way that they do without being redeemed, which is why they bend over backwards to pretend their love isn't genuine or it's one-sided or rooted in manipulation or whatever.

you, team green >>
or team black >>
?
long pretentious answer i find the team sides to be worthless, its all the same!!! theyre all the one family eating their own tail!!! i think anyone who is pro/anti team whatever and posts incessantly about it is like... Girl Take A Breath. i think people project a lot onto these characters and can get very personally insulted because if you identify with alicent or rhaenyra, characters who have gone through so much horrific trauma and specifically gendered violence, it can feel deeply upsetting to have people disagree with them. i think people need to remember that not only is fiction not reality, but people's opinions on fiction also aren't reality. if someone thinks alicent or rhaenyra is cruel, they probably wouldnt think that if ali was some random woman on the street or if nyra was their friend. i think getting emotionally invested in anything is such a beautiful human experience but there does need to be a reality check once in a while LOL
mid length proper answer: team black im sorry those kids are so adorable ^_^ i understand alicent's paranoia and rhaenyra was doing nothing to help LMFAO but i do think in a no-war scenario where rhaenyra became king, she wouldnt punish the green kids or alicent. possibly force them to abdicate their rights on threat of punishment tho LOL
short actual real answer TEAM NETTLES ^w^

wrt valonqar speculation, if the valonqar is allowed to be someone else's unrelated younger sibling, let's stretch that to use the "but maester aemon said gender doesn't matter in hv" clause to mean the valonqar is not even restricted to being a younger brother either. that makes just as much sense as noting the prophecy says the valonqar, not your valonqar. what if cersei is killed by someone else's sister who keeps a lannister vendetta list? no, i don't mean arya stark, dummies. i mean her undead mother, lady stoneheart!
but catelyn was an eldest child, not anyone's younger sibling you say? wrong! "Her two older brothers had both died in infancy", meaning she was actually a younger, thirdborn child. if the valonqar is not restricted to cersei's own brothers, and could be younger siblings in general, why not count someone who was a younger sister only to two dead brothers she never knew? of all the non-lannister younger siblings, did anyone else specifically dream of strangling cersei? ("dream of riding to King's Landing and wrapping my hands around Cersei Lannister's white throat and squeezing until her face turns black." compare that to the valonqar prophecy of "the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you." why else would grrm ever repeat the unique phrasing of "white throat" in such a way? obviously it has to mean something!) and the chapter where cat speaks of her dreams of choking cersei (Catelyn V, aCoK) comes right before her chapter revealing the existence of two dead elder brothers (Catelyn VI, aCoK). that can't be a coincidence, people! grrm wants us to connect those two facts in the back of our minds, so when the true valonqar is revealed it will be shocking but make perfect sense in retrospect to those few of us who have been paying attention.
c'mon now, folks! who has a higher lannister threat level: the former lannister dog who killed his brothers' goons only in self-defense and became a lamed dog; the knight of flowers who has only ever killed baratheon soldiers, his own men included; some child whose little hands probably can't strangle anyone; or the spirit of vengeange hunting down all frey- and lannister-affiliated enemies, who had cersei lannister near the top of her hit list before her death? i rest my case. accept no other non-lannister valonqar substitutions.
