“how you feelin’?” trey rested a bag of takeout on the coffee table, naturally leaning over to press a kiss to monique’s lips.  they arrived in new york city over the weekend after reaching a consensus on his loft being safer than atlanta.  he had been doing everything since then to make this transition comfortable for monique, but he could tell all of this was incredibly difficult for her.  trey could see that her world, as she knew it, was crumbling around her.  the empire she spent her entire life building had been tainted with a bullet to the torso and questionable loyalties...nothing was the same.  “talk to me,” he settled next to her on the sectional, taking her hand into his.

in his main verse, trevaunn was a drug dealer up until 3 years ago when he left atlanta to pursue his passion for writing in new york city.  his debut novel is a new york times bestseller and next thing you know this brother is the next ta-nehisi coates.  he’s much happier and outgoing in the verse, finally able to live his truth.  he’s out of the closet, and doesn’t mind going public in his relationships with men.  

in the trap trey verse, he is still a drug dealer.  he doesn’t purse his writing full-time, since he’s so busy making money and trying not to die.  he does read a lot, though.  none of his comrades really know that about him, but he uses books as a way to escape his reality temporarily.  he’s in the closet about his bisexuality and doesn’t pursue men in his romantic endeavors for that very reason.  he’s a lot more guarded, cold, and distant.  he’s all about his paper.  however, he will let some of his authentic self, warm and creative, fall through for the right person.

in both verses, trey does love to maintain his solitude.  he prefers to be alone, even in some relationships, but of course, he certainly doesn’t mind spending time with the person he loves.

dating:

trey has only been with black people, both sexually and romantically, and he plans on keeping it that way.

only in his late twenties did he begin dating and having sex with men since he was in the closet until then.

he prefers serious relationships, but has a hard time letting his guard down enough to enter one.  depending on his verse, he’s only been in two, both lasting at least 4 years.
