C: what is heart-crushing and awful but fun to inflict on friends

when the time came and arcos died of old age, after a very long and happy life and surrounded by all his loved ones, lloyd knew it wouldn't take long for marbella to follow him. as much as he and javier had changed fate, some things are just as certain as the rising sun. so he just tends to her garden in his father's place and brings her fresh flowers every morning. marbella passes away with a garden in full bloom and the feeling of a soft kiss on her forehead.

bonus hc: lloyd takes up gardening once he grows older. it's not quite the hobby he'd had in mind when he was younger but he finds something very soothing in seeing the garden take on a new life every spring with his help. it feels like having a bit of his parents home again.

There is so much talent in this community, it's hard to pick just a few, but @sniction-fiction @dopaminty @thedevillionaire and @victoriablackrose were some of the first people I followed here because their writing is so damn good. Like I made an account specifically to follow them 😂

But also I absolutely love @suddencolds characters and she is just prolific at writing, and @w1ngxd I recently read my first fic of theirs and it fuckin blew my mind. Omg and of course @onetrickponi jfc talk about a talented person between art and absolutely poetic writing

Last but certainly not least I adore @ghostlychill, their art they share here is so fabulous and the stories they've shared with me inspire me to be a better writer!

I dont know if this is supposed to be just 15 and 18 or every number in between but I'm just gonna do all cos I love yapping about Kwannon.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

Kwannon and Greycrow absolutely, which is probably obvious since I talk about them all the time lol. I just love the way that they are so similar yet so different and are able to help each other be better people, their whole relationship is so sweet and I can't wait for Psylocke #3 for more of them.

16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?

Literally any non canon ship, I mostly see her shipped with characters that Betsy has had relationships/flings with (Warren and Scott), which feels really gross. Thankfully it seems like people are smart enough not to ship Kwannon with Betsy since I don't really see it much anymore. For a while Kwannon was shipped with Alex which sounds so boring to me I don't think Kwannon should be with someone who can't handle murder.

17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite that you're fine with?

I guess her and Shinobi, so far I have no opinion which I guess is fair since their past relationship was only just revealed in a single issue. I'll give it more time and maybe I'll have more of an opinion

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

I don't really know how to answer this question, I guess I admire the kind of professional relationship she has with Scott where they both respect each other and feel comfortable calling each other out when it's needed.

from being a stowaway attempting to rob him ( not really but wont let it live down to this day ) to being a complete little shit who eventually accompanied him and joined his little found family. he sees drake as a younger brother.

their sibling like dynamic is literally ' i would sell you for a single corn chip ( and wouldn't eat it )

would always talk smack about each other to each other on a daily basis. though would try to have drake keep a sense of human decency and would try to have him behave around other people.

despite being a little hard on him at times, law does care. he just has his own form of expression, in which many may not like. but he shows through small things. the banter, helping drake with small pranks or even allowing him to join his little ventures. ( he knew drake would just find a way to sneak past the people he left in charge of him anyways )

would be rather protective to be frank. especially if coming across their journey they encounter people who were rather dangerious. he wouldnt want him fighting at all. drake's still a kid and he wouldnt want him getting hurt on his watch much to drake's dismay of things. would be really distraught if something happened to him.

Any HC of Calder’s family’s impression of Callie and Sol when they first meet them? And vice versa Cyra’s impression of Calder and Sol?

I hesitate to think about things that might happen in the future because I don’t like to get my hopes up for something that probably won’t happen.

However, this is interesting to think about. So I’m gonna do mini ones.

Calder’s family will be worried, immediately, that Calder isn’t well-protected by his new friends. Because Callie and Sol are pretty non-threatening at first glance. It’s an incorrect assumption, for sure, but I do think they will be worried about if he’s actually protected. He is the small one, after all. (And god will they be mad if and when they learn about the Ultrus thing.)

Cyra will, on the other hand, be base-level relieved that Callie has people with her, that she hasn’t been on her own this whole time. Cyra will certainly have some concerns regarding their personalities, but she’ll be happy that Callie wasn’t alone.

The darker shadows beneath Python's eyes carry the weight of their time in the Ruthalia mountains, but his crooked smile lightens up his expression. "You celebrate by finally eating something so your loved ones can fret a little less. Cute tradition, don't you think?"

Surprise first colours the monk's expression, followed second by delight (a gift! for him! yay~),

and then third succeeded by a brief, dramatically feigned indignation.

"You speak as though I weren't the only Hoshidan monk in town!"

But dear Python is soon forgiven. It is a holiday, after all. And Azama can be rather magnanimous when he feels like it. He cradles the bundle o' buns with one sleeve, head tilting to better appraise them, and goodness, they seem to him the most heavenly of foods he's ever seen in his life.

(Such has, mind you, been the case for any and every edible morsel he's come across in the short time since their return to the monastery, but that's neither here nor there.)

He plucks one free from the bunch of them, goes to pop it into his mouth, but he stops short.

"Ohoho... An adorable tradition, I must agree! And I would know," he goes on, gesturing with the sweet bun, "as Hoshido is the land of tradition."

He chuckles, but his smile doesn't quite reach his eyes in the same way Python's does.

Loved ones, hmm~?

He thinks back to the little gremlin of Ruthalia village and her outburst.

It is a holiday, Azama reminds himself.

"So, you'll join me in celebrating, yes?"

Not that he gives Python any choice in the matter, redirecting the roll in his hand right into that mouth as soon as it opens to give any manner of response.

The monk but smiles, and this time it's the genuine article.

this is not 'this could never work with canon' as much as 'canon didn't care enough to explore this' but i think scheherazade would absolutely be in platonic love with marbella. and marbella would love her soooo much too. the day of the wedding marbella asks her if she can help her braid flowers into her hair and sheherazade tears up a little bit because she's still not used to being treated so gently, she's still not used to julian treating her with so much kindness, and now here's yet another person doing her something unnecessarily kind for no other reason than because she wants to and it's just. it's a lot for her. even if scheherazade wasn't already completely in love with julian, she would've still married him just to get his mom in the package. her mom now.

i don't think julian ever told his parents how badly og lloyd treated him. and i think he went through great pains to keep it from them. he probably thought they had enough to worry about without adding his own issues with og lloyd to them. that's also why he never told them he was being harassed at school. he was used to keeping things like those from them.

oh my gosh that is a really cute pick 🥹 i would have to watch through adgth again to get a feel for how i would write her because it's honestly been a bit, but even just watching through some clips for a refresher i love how sweet and kind and silly she is! i'm really seeing how similar melody is to her. which til they're the same age too!

and omg her friendship with charlie earlier in the film is so funny. the way charlie tolerates her and how she of all people calls charlie out on his behavior. once i get around to rewatching the film the ending will probably make me cry lol. they're dynamic as a whole is great

Replayed ‘Ghostbusters: The Video Game (realistic version)’ recently, and there’s something interesting that I noticed (spoilers for that btw).

Throughout the game, the only Ghostbuster (aside from the Rookie) that fought all the Mandala Guardians was Egon Spengler.

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like being the only one who dealt with all the top members of Shandor’s cult would have been the starting point of the “paranoia” he would come to have by the time of ‘Afterlife.’

I too like to think of TVG as being canon or at least partially canon. Egon having more experience dealing with the guardians than the others could certainly contribute to the paranoia that caused him to leave. However, I do believe he's not the only one who fought the guardians besides Rookie. It's been years since I played the game so you can correct me if I'm wrong, but the whole team fought The Chairman and the Juvenile Sloar. Egon did help Rookie fight the spider witch, so that gives him one more fight than the rest of the team. That could still help support your theory.

If we want to make things even more interesting, we can take into account that Rookie eventually goes to work in Chicago (according to the comics). Callie, Trevor, and Phoebe were living there at the start of Afterlife. Perhaps Egon asked Rook to go keep an eye on his family and keep them safe?
