it's been almost two weeks since the love confession — a confession that, for a unaware noa, had come out of nowhere, leaving her completely floored. for almost two weeks she's tried everything to distract herself : retail therapy, self-care nights, cleaning the house from top to bottom ( okay, maybe it was just a couple of drawers. ) none of it had worked. not even the multiple reruns of her old favourite rom-coms, or the countless pints of ben & jerry's. in almost every moment of the day, thoughts of the other drifted in. she keeps telling herself she needs more time to think it over, but the incessant part of her that needs things to be fixed is nagging, until eventually she's climbing the four flights between them and knocking on the door, hoping who she's looking for will be the one to answer. when the door finally opens, she sets free the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. " hi, " it's soft, and suddenly the world around her once again feels like a blur. " can we talk ? " except, this time she doesn't have a plan of what to say. instead she's clouded by confusion, questioning so much of herself she thought was set.

Belly made a promise that she'd at least put in some kind of effort into getting to know the new side of family better. Even if she'd much rather continue to move around the town and basically ignore them until mandatory family get togethers, she wants to at least pretend to try to keep the woman's mind at ease. Say that she tried and move on with her day.

Which is why she's at the diving club, scanning the area until that one familiar face manages to catch her sight. Taking in a deep breath and walking over — forcing a decent smile upon her lips.
