The lengthy silence that follows his posed questions - clear in their intent or not - is worrisome. He hates that he feels such hesitation and what seems tantamount to fear as he allows Lucifer to think it through, though he supposes not allowing the other to take his time in his response will yield worse results. So he is forcing himself to be patient throughout, even as he feels his claws digging somewhat into the wooden desktop in what seems to be the most anxious display that he's allowed anyone to witness in some time.

He holds his breath without thinking very hard about it when Lucifer actually speaks, that near timid plea being offered to him almost catching him entirely unawares. But it makes... sense. If the man has only ever been lied to and walked away from, Alastor can hardly fault him for being cautious. The radio demon cannot relate, in that sense. The fear that he has is that he will be forced to walk away. As he'd convinced himself he had to from Vox all those years ago.

The threat of disappointment in that golden gaze is being held over his throat like a blade ready to cut and spill blood which he cannot regenerate. To trust someone in the way that he wants to... It is a risk. And is he even deserving of something so...

-tender?

As Lucifer brushes fingers over the fabric of his coat, Alastor remembers that his lungs exist and he exhales again, ears that had set themselves back in nervous energy swiveling until they are standing upright again. Resolve? Maybe. He is not sure.

It feels more like weakness.

Despite the gnawing sensation of that lingering fear placing teeth into his blackened heart and tugging with force, Alastor finds himself turning enough to take Lucifer's hand in his own grasp. It's a surprisingly soft touch, but purposeful too, staring at those blackened claws with fixed eyes that linger nearly too long before he is giving in to the impulse to bring it up to the side of his face and press Lucifer's palm against his cheek. As if they are in a war to decide who is better skirting that line of bold.

He wants to be Seen.

"...I did not lie to you," he finally says, unable to meet Lucifer's gaze but keeping possession of the Devil's hand. Not willing or able to release it just yet. Until he can wrench free the poison that is his voice; his words.

"You frustrate me. Make me angry. The moment you walked into that door I knew you were going to step in the way of everything I've worked to do here. You've done that in more ways than I think you truly know. And in doing so you've continued to confuse me - You make me question myself at every damned turn." His tone shifts - withering somewhat as he shuts his eyes entirely and leans his face more heavily into Lucifer's hand. He cannot help it and it feels so akin to Death that he is not sure he has not been the victim of an extermination after all.

Lucifer will be kinder to simply end him here and now.

"...You also make me ache." The words are quieter now, as though he is nearly fearful of being overheard. Maybe he is.

"There is almost nothing that occupies my thoughts more and I am sure that if I try to silence them that they will just come back to haunt my every waking moment." Of which there are a lot.

"...I can promise you nothing," he says. Almost regrettably as his eyes open once again and he fixes them on Lucifer's. Unblinking and unmoving. Serious despite that grim smile he cannot rid himself of even in the most dim of moments.

"Except that I will not waste my time on anything that I do not think to be valuable. And worthwhile.

You are both."

What more that spells for his own future, Alastor does not know.

It is becoming abundantly clear that there are a lot of things the radio demon does not know.

the  gift  leaves  his  clutch,  and  with  that  he  is  content  to  breathe  easy.  there  is  nothing  more  he  hopes  to  hear,  the  acceptance  is  plenty  enough  ━  so  the  following  words,  each  after  another,  surprise  him  more  than  the  last.  lips  part  and  crescents  widen,  a  brightening  of  the  dulled  reds  that  continue  to  stare.   "  thank  you  "   rings  more  genuine  than  he  has  ever  heard  alastor  grace  him  with,  whether  or  not  it  is  the  first.  though  he  does  not  make  comment,  he  will  be  taking  this  mental  note  and  tucking  it  away  for  later  use.

left  with  no  excuse  to  keep  hovering  around  the radio demon  when  his  apology  concludes,  heel  scuffs  the  floor  an  inch  back  in  preparation.  as  far  as  he  is  concerned,  he  has already  overstayed  his  welcome,  as  much  as  he  now  wants  to  stick  around.  and  then  alastor  speaks  up,  unclear  as  it  is,  and  once  again  puts  him  at  a  loss  for  words.  of  course  he  does  not  expect  to  continue  pursuing  this  conversation,  or  what  he  assumes  to  still  be  on  the  topic,   (  though  the  questions  are  disorientedly  vague,  )   given  the  fact  lucifer  has  so  clearly  given  an  out.  one  that  alastor  is  apparently  not  taking, despite seemingly being unwilling to face him.  a  gamble  it  is,  then.

arms  shift  to  briefly  cross  over.  he  has  half  a  mind  to  ask  for  clarification,  but  he  already  knows  alastor  won't  want  to  give  him  an  answer.  not  a  direct  or  helpful  one,  anyway.  it  is  a  bit  of  a  nerve-wracking  thing,  knowing  whatever  he carelessly  spills  may  be  misinterpreted  again,  so  he  takes  his  time  to  mull  it  over.  even  if  he  already  knows  what  he wants to say,  it  is  a  matter  of  putting  it  into  words  ━  a  far  more  daunting  task.  silence  fills  the  delicate  space  between  the  devil's  dying  hum  and  his  stumble  of  a  response.

plead  hangs  off  the  tail end  of  his  answer,  a  touch  more  distressed  than  he  intends  to  let  slip  through  the  gaps  of  an  otherwise  level  tone.  nails  dig  their  points  back  into  the  black  coverings  that  run  along  his  limbs.  it  is  not  as  if  the  thought  hasn't  crossed  his  mind  before,  just  like  it  is  now  ;  that  this  is  all  some  sickening  form  of  entertainment  derived  from  watching  a  lonely  man  struggle  to  fill  the  vacancy  of  empty  arms.  that  not  a  single  touch  is  or  ever  will  be  real.  but  he  is  willing  to  work  for  an authentic result,  if  he  must.

claws  flex  and  leave  behind  throbbing  indents  in  favor  of  further  testing  the  gap  when  he  reaches  over  the  arm  rest,  and  the  flats  of  his  fingers  brush  to  hover  a  touch  to  the  shoulder  blade  facing  him.  if  he  may  be  so  bold  so  soon,

a while back people requested that i share some of my headcanons for certain bnha characters, so here's some of the characters that i did

Shota Aizawa

- he absolutely has at LEAST 3 cats, he spoils the heck out of them too. that's why he's always eating those gel packs... he spends too much on his cats.

- he really does love his class. and we all know honey??? u haven't expelled any of them. ur soft for them ok.

- he likes to sleep with his cats bc he gets lonely at night... he will not admit it, but he likes having someone/something there :)

- he has reuccuring nightmares about the usj attack and how he could have failed to save his students

- has a very low alcohol tolerance and often ends up getting dragged back to his apartment by mic or midnight when they go out whilst he rambles and whines the entire time

- he hates crying and tries his best to keep his emotions held in, he's only cried in front of a select few people

- he tries not to let others opinions on him rule his life and tends to block it out if someone hates him

- he doesn't know it, but he is the entirety of class 1-a's dad.

- he really likes tea, and dislikes sweets

- as you would expect, he takes his coffee black

Hanta Sero

- he really likes kpop! he stans multiple groups and really wants to attend a concert

- though he seems really chill on the outside, he's actually quite sensitive and has some self confidence issues

- he loves being around people and finds that he gets his energy from being around those he loves

- definitely into e-boy fashion, and he is open about it

- pierced his own ears at 3 am and called kaminari crying about how he screwed it up

- he actually likes to draw a lot in his free time, it's very relaxing. he puts on some nice low-fi music and draws for hours

- he hasn't had many crushes in his life and doesn't find romance to be a big issue currently, but he's open to anything

- accidentally taped his hamster to the ceiling in 2nd grade, he didn't mean to and cried for hours (the hamster was ok)

Nemuri Kayama

- she is a BRO, she likes to crack a cold one open with the boys on the weekends

- she is bisexual and thinks everyone is beautiful in their own unique ways

- most likely talks shit about her coworkers to her classes

- she thinks children are adorable and loves them, often scaring them with her enthusiasm

- very touchy, she loves hugs and will probably not pass up a chance to use you as an armrest if she has the chance

- she secretly worries about aizawa a lot and is scared that he lets the past effect him too much

- did you guys know she has a cat?!

- i like to think she and mic are like... EPIC bros, she loves to paint his nails and do his hair while gossiping with him (aizawa would NEVER let her do this to him lmao)

- she isn't a mom, but finds the idea of having her own children very nice, for now having a cat will suffice

- she enjoys trying to make all might flustered, she thinks his reactions to things are always very cute and funny (it's all in good fun!)

- she's the mom friend! though she may seem very sexual, which she undoubtedly is, she is also very caring and has a very nuturing motherly personality, she's a lot more than just fanservice !!!!!

Todoroki Shoto

- completely oblivious when it comes to love... he doesn't even understand his own crushes

- "of course you can borrow my credit card uraraka" *pulls out endeavors card which he sneakily took*

- would be the person to tell a child that their pet guinea pig didn't go to heaven and be confused when they start sobbing... like "what... don't be honest?"

- allows his friends to huddle up to his warm side when they are cold

- is confused when people show him copious amounts of love and affection

- he would beat up anyone if they tried to do ANYTHING bad to midoriya

- he wants more friends. he really is enjoying meeting new people and having some new friends at ua!

- he gives really good hugs, he doesn't try to hug you too tight, but he doesn't half ass it either, very nice and warm

- he hates his scar. like. a lot. he wants to cover it up so bad but it just doesn't work. he's afraid it'll make other people scared of him.

Shinsou Hitoshi

- loves patd! and fall out boy, a brendon urie STAN

- loves to kiss his kitties on the forehead but dreads human interaction

- he loves to squish his cats' toebeans... he takes pictures of them and posts them to his secret cat social media acc

- he is gay but doesn't know how to feel about it and/or come out, he's really nervous and doesn't trust people to accept him

- he doesn't smile often but when he does it's the cutest thing ever

- he secretly really likes deku and kaminari and is hesitant about accepting their friendship, but appreciates the gestures a lot

- he suffers with social anxiety and doesn't really know how to make friends very well??? like, in middle school people were total dickbags to him so he kinda just closed himself off and decided he was gonna like... not make friends, but now that there's nice people around him he just kind of- doesn't know how

- this is actually canon! but he feels guilty about having to manipulate people when he uses his quirk, during the 4th school briefs book he feels guilty when he overhears midoriya and ojiro talking about him using his quirk during the sports festival, and he's like "i wish ojiro would say something rude about me to show he's angry so i wouldn't have to feel so guilty about this" since ojiro showed no ill feelings towards him

Izuku Midoriya

- "hold on I'll go get a blanket!" *opens closet* *thousands of all might figurines tumble out*

- watches cat vine compilations until 2 am, than freaks out when he realizes it is 2 am

- very good with children!

- used to be very self conscious about his freckles bc of bakugou insulting them; hid them with concealer for a while until someone told him they were beautiful

- loves his momma so muchhh he would do anything for her, he likes to surprise her with small favors to see her happy

- does not understand the concept of letting people handle their own problems

- stays after to class to offer his teachers help

- he has a lot of self doubts and is still struggling to this day to come to terms with the fact that he is worthy of having one for all

- he wants to learn how to cook for his mom and friends

Kyoka Jirou

- she is a lesbian!!!!! she has a crush on momo but is completely convinced that it's unrequited

- struggled with judgmental kids in middle school because of her sexual identity and style

- gets very easily flustered by anyone complimenting her

- that one person sitting at the back of the bus with their earbuds blasting full volume

- was a GOD at guitar hero

- acts like she's fed up with kaminari's (which she can be sometimes), but truly he's one of the people she can trust the most. she secretly appreciates the way he hypes up her talents and how he really helps her through the day sometimes!

- she loves heroes so much... when she was a little girl and didn't know what to do she'd ask herself "what would my favorite heroes do!?"

- she also secretly buys hero merch but hides it in fear of her being seen as sappy

Amajiki Tamaki

- would have trouble standing up for himself but if he sees ANYONE messing with mirio he WILL throw hands

- likes to watch bob ross videos when hes feeling anxious

- he once went to a butterfly museum with his parents and cried out of joy when one landed on his nose

- leaves food out for strays in his neighborhood, ends up attracting an entire hoard of animals.

- he can paint very nicely, he began to paint after he discovered bob ross

- mirio then saw his paintings and showed the entire class to tamaki's dismay, but everyone absolutely LOVED them!!!

- every day he becomes more and more capable and sure of himself, he is still very anxious, but he's learning to open up and embrace his talents <3

- he really loves to listen to music and any time he's not around others he'll probably have earbuds in, gently swaying back and forth to whatever he has on

- nejire loves to try out new hairstyles on him, and strangely enough, tamaki lets her, he loves it when people play with his hair

Shirakumo Oboro

- shares one collective braincell with mic

- that one person that brings EVERYONE valentine treats on valentines day at school

- most likely plays ding dong ditch

- *draws stick figure* "ah yes. just like van goh" (he cannot draw)

- hates to see his friends (and even random strangers upset) and will go out of his way to do dumb things to make them smile

- probably played soccer

- he's a massive flirt and likes to believe he will become a stereotypical anime protagonist with a massive harem

- he really wants to see aizawa come out of his shell more and tries his best to encourage him to see the best in everything

- he has most likely worn a schoolgirl uniform to class once

- he's very affectionate and loves to hug his friends (even if they don't want hugs), it's his way of showing he likes people

Hizashi Yamada

- he lives off of caffeine. he is a teacher, pro hero, and radio show host, im honestly not sure how he does it

- gives out stickers when students get the correct answer in class and has class parties when they are well behaved for the semester

- just like everyone else, he has his own turmoil as well, he likes to stay busy because it prevents him from having a lot of time to dwell on the past

- he gives really good hugs, and loves to feel the touch of others, it's very comforting to him

- was probably pretty troublesome when he was very young while he learned to get control of his quirk

- overall a really happy and excitable guy, he loves being the center of attention and if he can make people happy by being what he is, that's awesome!

- he shows his appreciation for people in odd ways, but he always means good, even if his wild antics can be a bit stressful lol

- he likes to sing a lot and does it a bunch when he's alone, he can also play a lot of instruments

- he can be very serious if needed, he does often put on a persona when he's present mic

- when he's hizashi (out of hero persona) he's even more of a dork than usual, very goofy, awkward and pouty. a manchild.

Night at the Mausoleum: Klaus x Fem! Reader - Part 4

Warnings: I’ve taken a few liberties with the timeline…artistic license lol!

All day long you had the feeling that something wasn’t right. You moved through your classes like a zombie and when you got home you couldn’t seem to focus on anything. Klaus would be at the mausoleum that night. You were nervous about how he had processed the kiss - if he had any memory of it at all. To make matters worse, the spirits were entangling themselves in your emotions like never before.

You sat waiting at your usual perch by the window with your book. Your nervous mind’s tendency to wander had you rereading the same passage over and over again. Hargreeves was late and that was a first. He was nothing if not punctual. Having seven children to abuse meant keeping a tight schedule.

You opened your sketchbook to see if there was anything to share with Klaus. You had a meditative way of sketching whatever was lurking in your subconscious. It was usually pretty abstract, but interesting. As you flipped through the pages you noticed something taking shape in the smudged charcoal. You figured you’d show Klaus to see what he could make of it. You stuffed it into your backpack as Hargreeves drove away, then hurried down the hill, excited to extract Klaus from the mausoleum. But the scene when you got there made you stagger back in shock.

There on the mausoleum door was a new sophisticated looking combination lock. Klaus was screaming so loud his voice went hoarse. It all came crashing down in a instant. You had gotten sloppy, left some evidence behind. Hargreeves learned about your scheme and switched the lock. You struggled to breathe. Guilt gripped your heart like a python.

Klaus, sensing your presence, cried out for you. You stood there for a moment paralyzed with shock and guilt and fear and regret. You wiped the tears from your eyes, then forced a deep breath to center yourself.

You couldn’t even look at him through the gap. Instead, you pressed your forehead against the middle of the door. “Yes, Klaus. I’m here.”

“He knows, Y/N. He fucking knows.” You could hear the snot and tears. It was the first time you’d ever heard Klaus use that word and it was appropriate because Klaus was essentially fucked.

“I can see that. He’s used a combination lock…Let’s try some numbers,” you said, trying to remain positive in spite of the overwhelming bleakness the situation.

“Your birthday!” You tried the sequence. 10…01…89.

“No, that would be too easy.”

“Is there anything else you can think of?”

“No, there’s nothing.”

You slumped down to the ground. “I’m sorry Klaus.”

It was quiet for a moment.

“Please just keep talking,” he sounded so scared, like the first day you met.

“Of course.” You repositioned yourself to peer into the gap. Klaus was kneeling on the stone floor with his head in his hands.

“I’m all out of weed or I’d give you some more…” You rifled through your bag searching unsuccessfully for your earbuds. “Shit, we don’t have any music either. I left my earbuds inside. I’ll run back and get them.”

“No, stay here.”

“I could sing…Do_you_want_to_build_a_snowman?,” you belted out the first few notes of the Disney classic.

Klaus rewarded you with a small laugh. “Just taking is fine.”

“Okay, Klaus…We’re gonna get you through this.” You struggled to think of something to talk about. Your mind kept coming back to the kiss, but this was definitely not the time. “I saw an owl eating a snake the other day…it was really wild. At one point I wasn’t sure who was eating who. Was that a pun? I didn’t mean that as a pun.”

“Not helping!”

“Right! Sorry, I’m nervous. This is a lot of pressure…Oh, hey…I have some sketches to show you.” You ripped the selected pages out of the notebook and slipped them through the crack in the door. You saw the lantern light shift and it was quiet again. Too quiet for too long.

“Uh, what’s going on in there, Klaus.? What are you thinking? Talk to me.”

“I think you should leave.”

You waited for the punchline to what must have been a joke, but Klaus stayed silent. “What is it? What do you see?” Klaus?…Klaus!

“Just go.”

Your mind was racing. This was not like him at all. In the years that you had known him he had never reacted to anything his way. You tried to recall exactly what you drew, what could have upset him so much, but the image in your brain was somehow gone, erased. Without knowing what to do or say, you left the mausoleum crying, alone and confused.

very much a love-hate friendship

from afar, it looks like you guys have no boundaries and you will say anything 

but both of you just toss it aside w “character building” and you laugh sometimes he's sweet and it surprises you (like w the kids ep in monsta x-ray omg) 

like he'll buy some food for a homeless man, or pull a funny face at a kid on the bus 

and you tease him about it again, just character building;)

he's silently supportive

he's not great at the words and talking bit, but he's happy to just sit and listen

or he will instantly know what to do, and just order some food before you say anything

so you know ppl are wrong when they say he's just a lazy and standoffish idol

but he's extremely good looking and you had to learn to avoid stares when you guys go out together

he probably has a gift he bought you abroad from 2 years ago

says he'll give it to you, but still forgets

you really hope it's not candy that went off months ago

as much as you love your best friend, you don't want mouldy sweets

whether he's making you laugh or you're laughing at him - he's funny

you guys were definitely childhood friends

and everyone loves him

your close family always talks about him, asks about him

he's like a brother you never had (as cheesy as that is)

most friends drift apart, especially w his idol career

but - you guys are the definition of inseparable

you met bc someone was picking on you at nursery and baby jooheon intervened

and since then, you guys have never been a part

he is v protective

even little things like accompanying you home when it's late

any partner he has to meet just to make sure they're good enough for you

you sometimes have to tell him you're okay on your own

and he'll apologise, that he's just looking out for you

he doesn't mind you ringing him at early hours when something's on your mind

and the same with you

when you guys hang out, it's simple

going out for a drive and just watching the sun go down

you'll blast your favourite music and enjoy each other's company

he'll sometimes even treat you – like take you out to dinner or something

to say thanks for being such a good friend all this time

you tell him he's cheesy, that it's not necessary

but he just blushes a little and says it's no big deal

he's the boy you'll mum will nudge and say “oh isn't he lovely”

you'll roll your eyes and say“he's just my best friend”

but you've thought about it, trust me he's definitely thought about it

who knows, all I can say is that it could happen

( i fell in love w changkyun while writing this i am such a sap )

you guys are like the chillest pair of best friends known

that's probably bc lil' changkyun is definitely more the introvert

he would much rather retreat to his studio to unwind than go out

which you're all for

you guys sit for hours in his mini studio

you listen to his stuff, and you just beam as he talks about his passion

it just fills you w joy when your best friend is so talented and you get to hear it

you do have to bring him out of his shell a little

bc this dorky, funny side comes out that has you cackling

you guys get food together mainly

and he loves it when you cook

you also feel it your duty to take care of this smol

feed him, look after him bc he's still your lil' maknae although nobody thinks he is

but it's not patronising, he's completely chill w it

the guys joke that  he had/has a major crush on you

sometimes you question it, but he's like a younger brother to you

so you just throw something at minhyuk and jooheon to end the teasing

although changkyun always gets a tad shy when they mention it ??

there's never any arguments bc you guys are so alike

you have the same music taste, like the same foods, have the same opinions, watch the same tv shows and movies

it's really weird, but neither of you are complaining

makes life 10x easier !

he always feels super bad that he can't see you more

(which is v fucking cute fite me)

so he tries to plan these elaborate well thought out days for when he gets back

but he gets really bumbly and shy about it

bc it feels like a date but it isn't but he kinda hopes it is

so you guys always opt for a night long catch up w pizza

and you don't mind bc you're happy to see your fave human

i can assure you, so is he;)
