"Thank you," her voice is soft, a light blush on her cheeks, "they really are beautiful." She takes the flowers inside, allowing the man to follow her as she places them in some water. "I actually have something for you too, please wait here."

Hurrying deeper into her house, Mikyoung searches for the small box and holds it to the light before rushing out to the living room, "tada!" She laughs, passing him the box, "Happy Valentine's Day," she say when Chan reveals a small, handmade pressed flower bookmark she had made for him.

"Please..." Mikyoung's voice breaks, tears streaming down her cheeks, "stop..."

The witches had drugged her when they had injected her with wolfsbane before the fight broke out downstairs. They had knew that she would be able to lead them to the pups while the rest of their coven were preoccupied with the losing battle. It didn't matter to them how many lives were lost tonight - as long as they were able to deal a blow to the future generation of wolves.

The only problem for them is the fact that Mikyoung refuses to give them up.

"We can keep this up, wolf. It's no skin off our nose but you? How long do you think your body can handle the pain?" He grips her chin and forces her head to look up at him and chuckles when she spits at him. "Tell us where they are and we will let you go."

She know he's lying, knows that if she gives them what they want then she no longer has any use to them. "I am not going to tell you where they are." She defiantly turns her head even though he forces her back towards him.

Mikyoung feels the burning sensation in her veins, every movement feeling like hot needles are piercing her skin and her body reeks of the poison. She's sweating, the wolfsbane causes her body to develop a fever as it tries to fight off the effects. She's bleeding, the silver knives the witches use sears her skin as they interrogate her. She's holding out, hoping someone noticed her absence and is trying to find her.

The two witches are enjoying themselves, feeling powerful against a small female omega who couldn't fight back against them. Her body weakened by the poison and their magic keeping her from shifting; they think they are stronger than her, than a wolf, simply because they managed to catch her. They are too preoccupied that neither notices the wolf who has made his way into the room, slowly stalking towards them. Chan's lips curl as he lets out a growl, hearing Mikyoung's pained whine as the blade slices through her arm. The Alpha doesn't let them revel in their victory before he attacks both men with a vengeance they had never seen before. Chan throws his entire body into one of the men, knocking him out; this causes the magical ties that are keeping Mikyoung from moving to release, her body slumping to the floor.

Her eyes fall closed, breathing shallow and all she can hear is the tearing of flesh, the screams for mercy as Chan rips her captors apart until her body gives in from the pain. She doesn't get to hear them beg for their lives, their pathetic apologies as the large wolf stands over them before going in for the kill. She only hears her blood rushing in her ears.

Chan drops the last man, the body a torn apart heap on the floor before turning to Mikyoung and making his way over to her. She's unconscious not dead, he can tell that much, but he doesn't know whether he should move her right now. Chan knows that a bed or even the couch would be better for her but he doesn't want to move her without permission and he certainly doesn't want her to see the mess downstairs.

So, he waits. Chan's large body rests next to her, his head laying on his paws as he watches the door. Protecting, waiting, alert.

The car has barely reached a full stop when the wolves are basically jumping out and rushing to the house. Jongin notices some of the other wolves had arrived just before they had, many unaware of what was going on and arrived too late. He can't imagine what they are thinking as they view the horrors inside the house.

Chris sees the carnage inside before Luna manages to make it to the door and pulls her into his chest, keeping her from seeing a sight that he knows she's familiar with. "Don't look," he says, hand resting on the back of her head and keeping her still when she tried to move away. "You don't want to see it."

With the mutters that are coming from around them, she can easily guess what he's talking about and nods her head. "Can you take me find some ingredients so I can make some healing potions for everyone."

Chris walks with her, allowing her to hide away in the witch's quarters while he goes and helps with the clean up. "I'll come grab you soon." She nods, focusing on her task rather than thinking about what he's going to do.

Jongin, on the other hand, pushes his way through the others, "Channie?" He calls, searching, looking at the deceased and dreading finding him amongst them.

No, he'd know. Of course he would. He'd feel it.

"Puppy?!" His voice grows frantic, the smell of blood is all around and his head turns every which way until his eyes land on his boyfriend sitting on the floor, a young boy clinging to him.

Channie's head pops up, looking over at him, a little distant at first but registering that Jongin is near is all it takes for it all to sink in. His lip quivers before the rest of his face scrunches up and Channie begins to cry. "Nini..." Jongin rushes to him, dropping to his knees as soon as he reaches him. The jolt that comes from the fall is ignored as his hands run all over his love, checking for injuries, checking to see how badly he's hurt, checking to find where the source of the blood is coming from until it clicks.

It's not his.

"Thank fuck, you're okay..." He holds Channie tightly, pulling him and the boy close until he can almost put his arms right around them. The boy seems to be an add-on to his boyfriend right now since the pup refuses to let the older go and Channie seems to feel the same way so Jongin holds them both.

Everyone seems to be finding each other, bodies being moved outside and piled up while those who are suffering a loss are being given the space to grieve. It isn't what any of them thought that they were going to deal with but as Chris looks over the damage, he feels responsible for separating the packs like this. It was his decision to split up, to check everything out just in case... if only he had known...

Hongjoong, however, hasn't settled. His jaw is clenched tightly as he searches downstairs for his sister, heart pounding as every room comes up empty or with another dead witch. "U-upstairs..." He turns to look over at Channie, the wolf's head barely popping up for air from the hold that he's in. "She was- there were pups... I don't..." Jongin hushes him while Hongjoong rushes up those stairs without hearing anything more, taking two at a time.

He runs directly to the room that he knows she would have taken the pups to. Mikyoung had been so excited when she learned that Chris built little hiding places like this for emergencies and begged her brother to make it a priority in their own pack house. If she's okay, if she's safe, he'll do it, he'll build them himself if it means they work as much as he hoping they do right now.

Hongjoong throws open the closet door, nearly ripping the wall apart as he find the pups packed inside, "are you okay?" He asks, offering his hand for them to take so he can help them out. "Where's Mikyoung? Where's my sister?"

The oldest pup, Somi, rubs the tears from her eyes and points towards the hallway, "we heard them take her... she tried to keep them from taking us..."

Gritting his teeth, Hongjoong takes a moment to keep himself calm for the traumatised pups, not wanting to scare them even more than they already are. He knows that she would have died before giving those pups up and that's something he's hoping he doesn't have to face right now. "C'mon, everyone's downstairs." As he's leading the pups towards the stairs, he notices Mikyoung's scent, faint but it's mixed with the stench of blood. He spots an open room at the other end of the hallway and prepares himself for what he might find in there. "Head down, find your parents. I'll be back."

Waiting until the last pup reaches the bottom of the staircase, Hongjoong slowly walks towards the room, the smell of blood growing stronger and when he sees the state of the room - his heart drops for a moment. The bodies lying a few feet from her are a mess, unrecognisable, surrounded by blood but luckily - it's not from her, not all of it, at least. He moves closer, now standing in the doorway of the room and finds his sister passed out on the ground with a large, white wolf beside her.

He knows that the threat is gone, those who had hurt his sister are now dead but someone is keeping her from him.

Hongjoong takes a step closer, crossing the threshold and the wolf lifts his head, a deep growl rumbling in his chest, warning him to not come any closer. He responds in kind, narrowing his eyes as he takes another step forward; his eyes are locked on the wolf, watching him stand to his full height, both males growling at each other, challenging each other to try something. Hongjoong recognises the scent, it's Chan, and while he's always given the other Alpha his respect - he's in the way.

Chan snaps his jaws, snarling at Hongjoong, who keeps inching closer. The omega is hurt, passed out, and Chan's not letting anyone touch her until she's awake. It doesn't matter who he is - he's not coming closer.

The two Alphas are in a stand-off, both snarling and baring their teeth to the other. One sudden movement and they will be at each other's throats without a second to spare. Their noses are nearly touching, inches away from tearing each other apart when there's stirring next to Chan, a low groan indicating that Mikyoung is waking up but it doesn't stop their hostile exchange.

Her body is aching from the wolfsbane, head pounding from the attacks that she had sustained but this all seems to take a back seat as her body instinctively reacts to the two males practically at each other's throats. It's automatic, a shift that isn't caused because she wants to but because the tension and their scents are triggering her to react.

In a way that none of them expected.

The pain is greater now that she's a shifted because the wolfsbane that is still in her system feels amplified by her wolf fronting but even as she suffers, Mikyoung manages to make her way between them. With her whole body shaking, she places her head under the Alpha's chin, protecting his throat. Her eyes look up at her brother as a whimper leaves her, begging for him to step down, pleading for him to stop.

Please no more fighting. Please, no more blood.

The three of them stay like that for a moment and she can tell that her brother is trying to figure out what the fuck is going on. Why is his sister protecting another Alpha, why is she protecting Chan? It's not immediate but he eventually pulls away, his growling fading as he stands up straight and looks down at them, confused.

Hongjoong isn't the only one confused because Mikyoung is too. It isn't like she made a conscious decision, it was instinctual, she did it without thinking about it but it's also something she isn't able to dwell on as her body collapses at Chan's feet. The pain is too much for her to deal with like this but it is also the fastest way for her to heal, her wolf taking on the brunt of the process to get the wolfsbane out of her system.

Chan is immediately on top of her, ignoring the other man as he begins to nuzzle the small omega. In that moment, it doesn't matter whether she's a part of his pack or not, his wolf is scenting her, surrounding her in his scent which seems to have her relax slightly. When he's finished, he begins cleaning her wounds, focusing on the areas where blood has started to stain her beautiful coat. While the omega will heal on her own, there's nothing wrong with him offering her a little help to get her back on her feet.

He continues to clean her, to scent her, while Hongjoong scrunches his nose and looks away. It's not an intimate thing but he doesn't feel like watching another Alpha scenting his sister, almost as if he's claiming her right in front of him. "Bring her downstairs when you're done. The witches are helping those who are injured." Without a second look, he leaves, allowing the other Alpha to keep caring for the small omega who whines softly when Chan's tongue passes over an open wound.

Once everyone is accounted for, checked up on and healed as best as the witches can do with their limited resources, Chris suggests that those who don't need to stay head back to their own territories to recover. "I can send you the details once we have more information."

It's clear that the Alpha feels a lot of guilt from what happened. It doesn't seem to matter to him about whether he had known that this would happen, it doesn't matter whether the could have prevented this - all that matters is that it happened under his roof. He recommended that they stay together, that they would be safe at the pack house but they weren't - they lost three lives and nearly lost their pups because of a decision he made.

"It's not your fault," Luna says softly when she enters the room with the others who had decided to stay. While many have taken the time to recover, others have stayed to help and Luna is one of them - she has as much to lose as the wolves do and she doesn't want to miss out on anything.

Jongin had taken Channie home to take care of him while a couple of other wolves from their pack stayed behind. While he wants to be there, the Alpha feels that his partner is more important right now and he wants to make sure Channie doesn't feel too much guilt over what happened.

While Chris had been cleaning himself up, his clothes and skin stained with blood from moving the bodies - Irene had arrived. It seems that the Devil found out about what happened and was understandably worried about him. He stands behind her, arms wrapped tightly around her waist as he takes a moment to compose himself for what's to come.

Hongjoong and a couple of his betas stand at the back of the room, ready to get the party started with the captives. Chris knows that while nobody else really approves of how Hongjoong thrives off the pain and suffering of his opponents, they have all agreed that if anyone is going to get the surviving witches to talk - it's him.

Chan sits beside a resting Mikyoung, her legs resting on his lap as she drinks a tonic that he made for her. Hongjoong had argued that she should return their pack house but Chan argued that she should stay where they can keep an eye on her, mostly talking about himself rather than anyone else. He hasn't let anyone go near her, especially not any of the witches, opting to take care of her needs himself as if he doesn't trust them.

This is all that they need right now, they don't need a spectacle for this next part, even if every wolf wants their turn with the captives - they only need one interrogator. Chris and the other Alphas all agree that everyone needs the chance to recover, they need to gather their strength because once they have the information that they are looking for - the final plan will begin.

The plan to save his mother.

That Warm Fuzzy Feeling - Part 3

Mingyu x Reader

It was always surprising how quickly the break could fly by but the camping trip was already upon you. As much as you really like Mingyu and his friends, you were staring to worry that getting too close to them would be a bad idea. What if he met his real soulmate?

So far, even though it was a massive undertaking, the camping trip was not the total mess it could have been. You had driven in one of the larger vans with Mingyu, Seungcheol, Seoyeon, Seokmin, and Bom earlier in the day. Some groups left a little later and you knew Joshua and Ahin were leaving last with Minghao and Yunhee when they both got off of work. Part of your task was the initial set-up of the huge campsite you had rented. Seungcheol had set up the initial tasks and you and Mingyu spent much of the afternoon setting up tents for people coming later on and marking out where other tents were going to go, as well as directing people as they arrived throughout the afternoon. 

The evening had been spent relaxing and eventually going for an evening swim. You ended up leaving just after the sun went down but you heard that Soonyoung, Jun, Mingyu, and Chan had gone skinny dipping. The thought brought a blush to your cheeks so you tried to push it away. They may have also been making it up since you were pretty sure what you’d heard about Jihoon joining them was a rumor just to make him annoyed, though whether it was started by Soonyoung or Soomin, you had no clue.

Today had been much more relaxing. You were really able to enjoy yourself and relax after all the work to set up the day before. You did spend a lot of time with Mingyu back at the campsite, anytime he got into cooking or preparing for a meal you did your best to help him. You tried not to touch him too much since every time you did he jumped and you didn’t want him getting hurt while working with the food, but you’d be lying if you said you never had fun with it. You knew what it was supposed to feel like, a jolt of electricity. You didn’t feel anything like that but you could tell he did because if he wasn’t expecting it it would very nearly knock him over, and he was already clumsy enough as it was.

Neither of you had told anyone about what was going on between you, aside from Seungcheol who Mingyu had confided in. He’d been stumped about it, but had advised the two of you to give it time and see what happened. Otherwise everyone seemed to be cooing over the two of you a bit. Mingyu was the last in the house to meet someone and everyone seemed convinced you were soulmates. You tried to hide the pain on your faces any time someone mentioned it to him or commented on him finally finding his soulmate. 

Aside from those moments though you were enjoying yourself. You knew that tomorrow there was some packing up that had to be done since you were leaving the campsite relatively early the next day. So today was the day you really wanted to enjoy yourself. Besides helping Mingyu with cooking you relaxed with him, Jihoon, Wonwoo, and Soomin while Byeol was often off running from one activity to the next. She stopped by from time to time to leave a kiss and a slight blush on Wonwoo’s cheeks before taking off again.

You had to admit that they really felt like a little family, and being with Mingyu made you feel so included in that. It felt bittersweet as you worried more and more that something was wrong, or that you weren’t his real soulmate. There had to be some reason why you didn’t feel anything when he felt so strongly but the longer you were around him the more you desperately wanted to stay with him and this little family you’d been welcomed into.

So you just tried to push the worries to the back of your mind as you leaned into Mingyu’s side, loving the way his arm wrapped tightly around you made you feel so safe and secure. You had a blanket wrapped around both of your shoulders and you chuckled at a joke Joshua had cracked about nearly falling over when he met his soulmate, the whole group gathered around the bonfire. You noticed Seungcheol next to you leaving a quick kiss on Seoyeon’s cheek that left her surprised and flustered. He chuckled and took a sip of his drink before speaking up.

“Shua it’s been how long since then, how do you remember?” he chuckled.

Joshua threw a marshmallow at him. “Hey! I remember perfectly! I was shaky all class.”

“You were so nervous,” Ahin giggled.

“Well it didn’t help when you ditched me,” he teased.

“Hey, I said I was sorry!” she whined. He kissed her with a good natured smile on his face. “Besides, I’m the one who thought I was going to pass out from feeling so dizzy.”

“You wanna talk about dizzy!?” Mikyoung exclaimed and the group laughed. It was no secret that she had had trouble when she first met Soonyoung. “My god I almost passed out and threw up!”

“That’s not because he’s your soulmate,” Jihoon added. “That’s just because he’s Soonyoung.”

The whole group cackled as Jihoon grinned, him and Soomin ducking as Soonyoung chucked a bag of chips at him.

“Okay but seriously,” Mikyong laughed. “I really was upset that I couldn’t even be in the same room as him. I know everyone else felt something so someone else must have felt strongly too.”

Ahin bumped Chungcha who was sitting next to her, her arms wrapped tightly around her legs and unlike everyone else, was on the opposite side of the circle from her soulmate. You all knew she had had a fight with Jeonghan, everyone who was in the house had heard it and since then they had barely spoken. You were honestly surprised she came on the trip at all.

“Yeah, It was pretty strong for me,” she muttered.

“It was?” Jeonghan asked. You weren’t sure if he was being sarcastic or genuine.

“Yeah, I felt warm and really dizzy, and the butterflies when I saw you… But I mean I thought it was the party at first.”

“I thought the same thing,” Bom piped up, curled tightly into Seokmin’s side. “I was so dizzy and had butterflies but I thought it was just because I was nervous at first.”

“Honestly my hands started shaking too bad to play any more beer pong that night,” Seokmin admitted.

“I can relate to the shaking hands,” Hannah added quietly. “I could barely hold my pencil to take notes that day.”

“And I had to hold onto the table to stop my hands from shaking,” Yunhee chuckled, leaning close to Minghao.

“Jihoon spilled coffee in his lap,” Soomin said calmly, then having to duck as Jihoon swung the bag of chips from earlier at her as she laughed.

“Wait did he really?” Mingyu laughed.

“Aww Hoonie!” Soonyoung cooed. “That’s precious.”

“Soonyoung I’ll kill you if you ever breathe a word of this again,” Jihoon growled.

Soomin laughed and ran her fingers through Jihoon’s hair as he slowly relaxed against her, a pout on his lips and deep blush on his face.

“Jiah was also pretty shaky,” Mochou added. “I remember your hands were shaking so bad when you handed me your phone.”

“And the butterflies were so bad in my stomach,” she said. “And I went through that twice.” She snuggled between Chan and Mochou with a content smile on her face.

“Ohhh I had butterflies!” said Byeol. “And the cute blush on your cheeks did nothing to help them.” she cooed, pinching Wonwoo’s cheek. He ducked his head, his cheeks heating from both her teasing and the attention now on him.

“Hey, I had butterflies too,” he mumbled quietly.

Mingyu shifted next to you, holding you a little tighter before speaking. “I had shaky hands, and really bad butterflies. I honestly thought I might throw up.” 

You gazed at him with a smile, a warmth in your heart “You did?”

A blush rose in his cheeks. “Yeah, I was so nervous to approach you. The butterflies are still bad some days.”

“That’s pretty fair though,” Seungkwan added, giving Jada a sweet smile. “I still get butterflies when I kiss Jada.”

“That might just be her tongue down your throat, Seungkwan.” Hansol chuckled. Jada and Hannah snorted as the group erupted into laughter and Seungkwan threw marshmallows at him.

Jada spoke up as the laughter died down. “Seriously though, I do still get butterflies too at times, it’s just not as bad as it was at the start.”

You shifted and felt Mingyu’s eyes on you. You glanced at him to see a frown on his face. He could tell you were getting a little upset. Everyone had such sweet stories about how it felt to meet their soulmate and you had nothing. Maybe you really were just broken.

“You know, I remember Seoyeon fanning herself in the middle of winter,” Bom chuckled.

“God yeah, I felt so warm,” she said.

“That’s just because I’m so hot,” Seungcheol grinned.

“As if,” Seoyeon laughed, pulling the blanket they had around them over his head. “I sure didn’t fall for you because of your looks.”

“You know I’m cute,” he teased.

“Not enough to make up for how annoying you are,” she quipped playfully. He pulled her into his lap, tickling her and she shrieked with laughter, finally admitting he was hot to make him stop. She curled in close to him as her giggles subsided.

“You know I didn’t really feel much of that,” Soomin mused. “I remember feeling, giddy. Like this intense happiness when I met Jihoon.”

“Oh wait!” Chan exclaimed. “I felt something like that! Like I was so happy my heart would burst.”

“So did I,” Jun added quietly. “You know I was talking to Tiyanna and she said she felt comfortable. She said it was like a warmth in her chest, like-”

“Like coming home after a long day.” You finished, a grin spreading across your lips. “Did she really say that?”

“Yeah,” he said. “How did you know that?”

You leaned into Mingyu’s side, unable to hide your giddiness. “That’s how I feel when I’m around Mingyu. It’s just, it’s like comfort and safety and warmth.”

There was a chorus of “awws” around the group before the conversation moved on. You barely paid attention, instead quietly reeling in this revelation.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Mingyu asked quietly.

You shook your head. “All my life I heard people talk about the shaky hands, the butterflies, and the dizziness. No one ever talked about this feeling.” You looked at him. “It’s so subtle I just, I thought it would be this big thing that knocked the wind out of me. But it was just this quiet, soft feeling. I just didn’t…” You trailed off as you noticed the tears on his cheeks.

“Oh Mingyu…” you said quietly, wiping them away. “I’m sorry it took me so long, I-”

He shook his head. “I’m just…” he hugged you incredibly tightly. “I’m just so happy.”

When the rain starts to pour down, interrupting the walk, the two wolves rush for the closest cover; a large tree offers them so relief from the rain as lightning flashes overhead. Mikyoung had suggested that they go for a walk after a meeting Chan had with Hongjoong, noticing the tension in the Alpha's jaw and scent when he had left the pack house. It was a beautiful day so she thought that maybe a walk through the woods, being surrounded by nature would ease Chan as it often helps her to relax — she didn't even think about checking the weather.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Mikyoung asks, looking out at the forest for a moment before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. The smell of the forest, the sound of the rain falling through the trees and the strange sense of peace surrounds her before she looks over at the Alpha next to her. "It's almost like the world outside doesn't exist."

They manage to find a large tree root that they can sit and wait out the rain. Sitting in comfortable silence, the small omega lifts her head up to look at the covered sky while softly smiling to herself.

She winces as Chan touches the wound on her forearm with lips pulled into a tight line. "It was an accident," she tries to placate the Alpha, her voice soft. "The young one didn't mean to. He was scared."

At school, one of the young hybrids had shifted suddenly and got spooked, causing him to bite Mikyoung, who had been too close at the time. While it wasn't overly damaging, it still stings since the healing process is taking a little longer due to the venom in his bite.

Chan carefully cleans the wound while Mikyoung watches his expression silently, trying to soothe the Alpha since she can see the slight tension in his jaw. She's sure he's not mad at the child but just more worried that she had been hurt — he's reacting better than her brother would have if she told him.

"It'll be as good as new tomorrow," she tries to meet his eyes, smiling softly at the Alpha to show she's okay. "I'll send you a picture so you can see it for yourself, okay?"

𝐦. my first attempt at cooking for someone! he's still alive, don't worry and my kitchen is still standing strong though— i may or may not have made a mess heh. i'm sure my class would love hearing about this and they'll want proof that i actually made this so i did have chan take a little video of me making the sauce. it may not be fancy but it was a nice night overall!

Just like he had said, Chan arrives by 7pm with a bottle of wine he had selected for the meal. With a knock on the door, the omega rushes over with a soft smile and her hair in a bun to keep it out of her face. "Hi! Come in!" Mikyoung gives Chan a hug before accepting the bottle of wine from him, "Feel free to take a seat if you want, I'm just about ready to start the sauce." The table is in the kitchen, allowing the Alpha direct line of sight and allowing them to make small talk while Mikyoung starts to prepare the dish.

With her apron donned, she places a glass of wine on the table for Chan to enjoy while she talks about this cooking class she's started. "So, I was talking to a friend and she mentioned how it would be good to start taking lessons especially because I spend too much on take out. Honestly, I never thought of it but it makes sense, right?" She looks over her shoulder with a bashful smile, "It's usually something a mother might teach her daughter but..." Mikyoung shakes her head, not wanting to dive into that and quickly pivots to a different conversation, "anyway! How was your day?"

She listens as she cooks, looking over her shoulder occasionally to show she's paying attention because she's concentrating on making sure she doesn't burn it. Mikyoung has been practicing all day, Chan might have noticed that when he came over, the smell already in the house because she had made a small batch earlier and hadn't gotten around to airing out the house. It was cleaning up the mess that she was more worried about.

"Oh?" She laughs softly when Chan suddenly approaches, his closeness having her wolf reacting slightly, "I think I'm doing okay, thank you. You can taste it for me though! Let me know if it needs a little more seasoning." Mikyoung holds up the spoon to her mouth, hand cupped under before she blows on it and offers it to Chan.

"What do you think?"

There's always something about Chan's presence that feels calming and easy. Maybe it's natural, his aura and who he is that allows the omega to fall into pace with him as they set the table; maybe it's because his scent stirs her wolf, reminding her of the safety in which he provided and how he cared for her. Whatever it is, Mikyoung pays it almost no attention as she follows his lead and plates up their dinner.

A candle is lit, the soft vanilla scent gentle for their noses since she's had it specifically made for her, their wine glasses half-full with the crisp white wine and cutlery placed neatly on either side of their placemat. "Dinner is served~." She proudly announces as she places their plates down and starts to take off her apron to hang up.

The omega pulls out her phone as she sits down, shyly laughing. "Even with a video, the pups will not believe that Miss Mikyoung actually made something presentable so I need to document this as best as I can." She takes a few pictures, making sure Chan wasn't in them just in case he didn't feel comfortable, before placing her phone down and giving the Alpha her full attention.

Maybe it's silly but she watches expectantly as Chan tries the meal and the look of approval on his face makes her face light up with joy. There's no comment about how it could have been better, no mention of how something wasn't cooked enough or snide remark to diminish her effort — Chan seems to genuinely enjoy it and that makes Mikyoung proud. She's always been able to achieve things she puts her mind to but for some reason, cooking has never come easy to her.

"Maybe there's hope for me after all." She laughs, beginning to dig into her own meal.

After dinner and Chan helping to clean up the kitchen, even though Mikyoung insisted that she can do it on her own and he's a guest, the duo sit down on her couch with their refilled glasses of wine.

There's no rush in Chan needing to leave, not that there should be unless he wants to go but sometimes, Mikyoung has felt like there's always something pulling him away. It's not that it bothers her, people get busy and she knows that well, but it does feel nice to be able to relax and talk without this almost instinctual feeling that his mind is elsewhere or he needs to be elsewhere.

"You don't understand," she laughs, showing Chan a video of one of the pups covered in mud and running around as Mikyoung tried to reign him in. "These young pups are almost literally like little puppies sometimes especially since they've started learning to shift. This one is a late bloomer, he's one of the orphans from the attack so he was a little... hesitant to shift and now? It's hard to get him back — especially when it's raining." She shows him a picture of her coated in mud after managing to get the boy in the bathtub and washed.

She continues to share, showing pictures of the pups under her care at the school and even the ones from her pack, sharing stories before realising how much she's talked. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to overshare! I don't have any friends who are werewolves outside of the pack and even then — anyway! How are things with your pack? I talked about mine enough so please, do tell me about yours."

With her glass in her hand and body turned towards Chan, Mikyoung settles in and listens with a smile. It's clear that Chan doesn't always talk about himself but isn't that how friendships and bonds are formed — through sharing about yourselves?

Or at least, that's how Mikyoung wants to grow their bond.

Mikyoung knows what day it is, she is aware that Chan might be busy but she thought she might as well reach out and see if she can catch up with the Alpha before he has plans. If he has plans. Of course, he’d have plans!

She didn’t want it to be weird but she also didn’t want to take her gift for him on the bus and risk it getting damaged. “Are you okay to come over, Chan? I promise it’ll be worth it!” She smiles, asking him to come around to her place after exchanging niceties. Mikyoung has gotten used to calling the Alpha by his name, even if it was a little strange at first, she finds it friendly, familiar, and a lot less awkward than what it used to be.

Once Chan had arrived, Mikyoung offers his something to eat, feeling bad since it was still in the morning. “I really hope I didn’t steal you away from anyone!” She apologises before handing Chan a cup of freshly made herbal tea.

Neatly wrapped with a white bow and sitting on the coffee table, is Chan’s present. “Happy Valentine’s Day!” She waits for him to open it, the various types of flower art.

“Your Christmas present inspired me and I’ve been teaching the pups how to do it as well! I am now an expert so if you’re serious about learning~,” Mikyoung grins brightly, clearly meaning she’ll teach him.

One of the art pieces is a glass pane inside a frame, the pressed flowers delicately arranged and pasted to the glass. The other piece is several dried flowers preserved and arranged inside a sealed glass box.

“I thought you could be the first one to receive the artwork since you are the reason I did it.” With a small kiss on his cheek, her heart racing slightly as she did, Mikyoung smiles. It’s not often she can show off her crafts like this to someone outside of her class and colleagues so she’s glad that the one seeing it is Chan.

The Christmas holidays are always one of the busiest times of the year for the pack, with the pups wanting to make sure Santa can get down the chimney safely to making sure that there's enough food to feed everyone, there's always something to do. Even on Christmas Day, with Hongjoong wearing a Christmas hat handing out presents while Mikyoung takes plenty of pictures, it doesn't mean it's relaxing when there are 7 excited pups ripping open presents.

The omega watches happily, their parents acting surprised at what Santa brought them, as one of the betas leans over and whispers in her ear. "You ever think about it?" His question is cut short when Hongjoong throws a ball of paper right at his head, causing Mikyoung to shush him and shake his head.

She has, of course she has, just not yet.

Mikyoung has always loved Christmas, has always loved how happy the pack seems to be and it's the one day a year that Hongjoong actually seems to relax. For her, he says, but at least it's something. The bells on her shirt jingle as one of the pups pass her a gift and she smiles, looking over at her brother before opening it.

"What's this?" She furrows her brow, opening the small card and reading the message inside before looking at Hongjoong, confused.

"It's for that new restaurant that you wouldn't— ah, that you've been talking about." She smiles over at him, eyes shining a little as she's touched by the gesture. It may be small to some people but for Mikyoung, who is used to her brother dismissing her interests and always telling her that she's too soft, him showing he actually pays attention means a lot.

Mikyoung had messaged Chan early in the morning, checking to see if he would happen to have some time for a quick visit. She didn't want to intrude, not knowing whether he would be spending it with his pack or family, but when he said he had time, she sent him an address.

Her address. Home, not pack territory, but her home address as she didn't think it would be too long since he must have other people to see.

When Chan arrived, she welcomed him inside out of the snow, smiling as she takes his jacket to hang it up. "Merry Christmas, Alpha Chan." She moves in to give him a small hug, the bells jingling as she moves which causes her to laugh a little, "sorry. The pups love Christmas and I always dress up as Santa's Elf for them." She points over at the Christmas hat, the green and white hat coming with pointed ears.

Her apartment isn't large, a one bedroom studio that is currently in a mess due to all the Christmas paper and rubbish from decorating that she hasn't finished hiding. "I tried to clean up before you got here, I swear it's not always like this." Her cheeks flush a little in embarrassment before she rushes to grab his presents, two small boxes wrapped neatly with a bow on top.
