Hello! I wanted to participate in @wisdom-devotee 's 31 days of helpol but couldn't do so sooner, so I'm doing it now. Click here for the original post with the prompts. Below the cut are my answers! I figured I'd add a cut due to the length of the post.
If you were tagged, it's for day 17 where I was asked to @ people to spread some love! Know that I appreciate all you do and that your efforts towards the community (and yourselves) are being acknowledged. Y'all rock, and you deserve to know it! Take care! 🧡
*If there are typos, that sucks because I'm not going back to fix them lmao; this post is EXTREMELY long. 💀*
DAY ONE: Who was the first deity you began worshipping, and are you still worshipping them now? If this has been answered before, how has your worship changed since last year?
- The first deity I began worshipping was Lord Hermes! I'm definitely still worshipping him, going on four years strong. Over the years, my worship has gone through many transformations, but the biggest one this year was a more prominent focus on food and drink offerings, since my room is now right now to the kitchen, rather than being in the basement. It's much more convenient, and I've found I enjoy giving these offerings more as well!
DAY TWO: Which deity did you most recently start worshipping? Were you called to them, or did you reach out first? Do you think there were specific reasons behind why you were drawn to them?
- I don't have physical altars for all the deities I want to start worshipping nor the ones I've already started worshipping. I think the most recent additions have probably been Hypnos and Thanatos, but I haven't given them as much praise as I would like to. I've been thinking of how to incorporate hero worship into my practice recently as well, but it's difficult because, again, I don't have space for physical altars which often remind me to engage in regular worship. For the heroes, I felt a call to them, but I'm not sure if they reached out to me or if a deity has been encouraging me to reach out (this has happened before lol). I had a lot of dreams about these heroes, to the point where it's suspicious to me, but again, I don't think it's them reaching out so much as someone else telling me to reach out. For Thanatos and Hypnos, I genuinely just like them a lot, so I did little things to show appreciation, mostly digitally. Sleep is very important, and I often have vivid and wild dreams, so that's why I reached out to Hypnos - I felt a connection in that way. For Thanatos, I used to have a phobia of death, so I forced myself to interact more with the topic (it helped a lot), and I had an appreciation for Thanatos already, so I like to occasionally show appreciation for what he does. My worship of Hypnos and Thanatos is pretty inconsistent, however, and doesn't happen as often as I would like.
DAY THREE: How long ago did you start Hellenic Polytheism?
- Well, I officially began about three years ago, but prior to that, I considered myself "generally pagan". I'm honestly not big on labels; I find them to be extremely restricting, but I go with this label because it feels the most fitting for my practice. Honestly, though, I only switched to a polytheistic practice after an incredibly traumatizing experience with another pagan offline. Hellenic Polytheism saved me in a lot of ways from that. I got that Greek Tragedy backstory, as someone once put it lol.
DAY FOUR: Are there any deities you don't currently worship but want to learn about?
- Eros has been reaching out for a long while, and I desperately want to start worshipping him, but I need to find a way to make more room to do so (that's been my biggest road-block). There are many others outside of him as well, but the other deities I'm mostly just interested in learning about and not picking up worship.
DAY FIVE: How much have you bonded with your deities?
- I'm extremely close with some deities. Some are like family to me, some are close in other ways, and some I worship but am not extremely emotionally close with. I love and cherish all the gods, though, and I have immense respect and appreciation for those I don't know well regardless. They all do so much for the world, even outside of myself, and I think that's really beautiful.
DAY SIX: What's one way you incorporate Hellenic Polytheism into your routine (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)?
- I always try to pray right before going to sleep, though that doesn't always happen (I'd say it happens 8 times out of 10). I also try to give offerings after asking for assistance and celebrate festivals that I feel connected to (though I need to get better at planning ahead for them ☠️). I've been pretty disconnected with my practice, due to life circumstances, so now that those circumstances have ended, I really hope I can get reconnected with things again.
DAY SEVEN: Are you openly a Hellenic Polytheist offline? How does being open/not open affect your worship?
- I'm typically very open about my practice offline. My friends don't typically inquire about it. I recently cut off some people who were openly disrespectful about it, actually, though that wasn't the reason I cut contact (just to clarify that there's more to that story). In front of older folks, I'm not open in this area, however, because this area is very... judgemental, to say the least. I try to live true to myself, though, despite what others think. It's a tough lesson I'm learning in a new and harsh environment (I moved from a much more open-minded place recently).
DAY EIGHT: Do you have altars? If you do, how do you use it?
- Technically, I have sixteen altars, but two of them are on pause and packed away at the moment, so I have fourteen active ones. I also have two more unofficial altars, where I have offerings dedicated to deities, but they're not fully fledged, dedicated spaces. Do I have too many? Eh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
DAY NINE: Is there a practice that's common among other Hellenic Polytheists that you're skeptical about?
- I'd say that the only one that I've been iffy about - that's a modern thing - is the existence of the astral realm. There have been many people that I've met that use it as an excuse to spread misinformation and lies. There are some that I've met who also fall into a state of psychosis due to it, and that highly alarms me; it makes me not want to touch the astral realm topic with a ten-foot pole. I'm also very hesitant about priest/priestess titles, personally. I don't want to cast immediate judgement upon those who use those titles, but I'm pretty iffy about them because of my past with such individuals. Some who have those titles, though, use them for their own practice, rather than as a social title, which I think is a better way to implement that. I don't have a personal issue with it, but I'm definitely a bit skeptical about people who are under 20 and using it, I have to say.
DAY TEN: What's something you've learned about Hellenic Polytheism that you wish you knew sooner?
- Honestly, a lot of the questions I've gotten from beginners on this account contain those exact things. I didn't know jack shit when I first started as a pagan, and when I started ✨officially✨ as a polytheist, I was essentially beginning against from scratch (the person I replied on as a pagan, for advice and guidance, was extremely manipulative, etc. and I had to reinform myself). I just try to spread what I've learned, what I wish I knew, but I'm not, by any means, an educator or authority or anything.
DAY ELEVEN: What is the clearest sign that you've received from a deity?
- I've had a lot of very clear signs given to me because I have this ridiculous habit of things going completely over my head. There was one time where Lord Hermes sent an entire flock of black birds to my backyard (had never happened before and never happened again), the time I had prayed to Lord Dionysus and immediately had an extremely vivid lucid dream about him, or even literally just yesterday when I had agreed to do a reading with Lord Apollon and got constant reminders throughout the evening about him. This is a common theme in my life because I accidentally dismiss things that were obviously signs as coincidences, so when my deities need to reach me, they need to make a big deal of things. ^^;
DAY TWELVE: Do you do food offerings or libations? What do you do with the food/drink after you've offered it?
- Yes to both! I don't call it "libations", however; I simply offer drinks, and that's that. I love sharing my meals with my deities as well and sometimes go out of my way to make something tasty just so I can offer it. I consume all of my offerings, pretty much, unless I have some reason not to (such as it being bad or I get the vibe that I shouldn't, which hasn't happened often). With my room being next to my kitchen, it's much easier to give these kinds of offerings!
DAY THIRTEEN: Do you write your own prayers?
- Yes and no. I have written prayers on ye ol' Tumblr and shared them, but those prayers are typically written specifically for Tumblr (sometimes I write them as an act of devotion to that deity as well). Oftentimes, though, my prayers aren't scripted at all. I usually just share what's on my mind, ask for assistance if applicable, thank the deity and give some praise, then close out. I do have some personal prayers that I wrote that I don't share (and will never share) publicly, but I don't have many of those because it's not really my thing.
DAY FOURTEEN: Do you have any hobbies that fit any of your deities' domains?
- Yes, too many, frankly. I love drawing, painting, writing poetry, writing stories, playing DnD and other TTRPGs, reading classical literature, debating philosophical ideas, pet-sitting for others, spending time with my pets, practicing witchcraft, doing divination, interpreting dreams, analyzing literature and media, playing various video games (the game itself dictates who I dedicate this to), educating others on various topics (not in any formal sort of way, this just happens to me a lot, for some reason), and the list goes on. I do a lot that ended up directly tying into deity domains, none of which were explicitly intentional lol.
DAY FIFTEEN: How has your worship changed you?
- I'm honestly a completely different person from the one that originally began down the polytheist, even pagan, path. I've learned A LOT about the world, about others, about the gods, and especially about myself. The lessons that I've learned from worship will follow me through the rest of my life, and I say this with immense love towards the gods for helping me grow so much in four years. I will be forever grateful to them; I wouldn't be here today without them.
DAY SIXTEEN: If you could give one piece of advice to someone who's just starting in Helpol, what would it be?
- Please check my pinned post; I promise you, wholeheartedly, that you will find something helpful there. No, but for real, I'd give them the advice of not solely letting others dictate their practice. I made that mistake myself, and I'm still dealing with the consequences. It's not worth your time, energy, or effort to completely change your practice to fit someone else's mold. Be yourself, and practice in a way that makes you feel happy.
DAY SEVENTEEN: Send out some love! Are there any Helpol blogs here on Tumblr that you follow and really like?
- I honestly have a lot of Helpol blogs that I enjoy, but @ ing them all would be hellish lmao, so I'll only include a few, but know that if you aren't tagged, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate you! You all deserve love. c:
@sephospaganplace @travelingthief @piristephes @captainkaltar @theoi-crow @thegodwhocums @hyakinthou-naos @olympianbutch @winedarkgod @artemis-potnia-theron @fireandfennel and a massive shout-out to those who run the @countrydionysia blog; thank you both for running those festival competitions each time! c:
DAY EIGHTEEN: How can you best describe each of your relationships with your deities?
- There are three that I feel pressured to be particularly quiet about, but I'm pretty close to most of them. There are some deities that I don't feel as close with as others but, rather, worship out of respect and acknowledgement. Two of my deities have come forward to me about being patrons as well which is cool, but patrons aren't exactly what people often think of in the modern day (I'm not gonna dive into that here). Truthfully, if I reviewed each of my deity relationships, we'd be here for the next twenty years, so I'm just going to move on lol.
DAY NINETEEN: If you had to assign one song to each of the deities you worship, which songs would you choose?
- We're going to be here for so long, omg... Strap in, get ready. This is gonna be a long one, fellas.
Hermes - The Devil Went Down To Georgia by The Charlie Daniels Band (this was HARD, but I decided this one ultimately because I have an irrational love for this song and strongly associate it to Hermes for, like, no real reason)
Apollo - Sunkissed by Khai Dreams (it's just such a sweet and happy song, I love it; makes me think of his myths a lot c:)
Dionysus - Na Na Na by My Chemical Romance (it's got that rebellious vibe; I have a lot for him, but I'm too indecisive, so I'm going with this one lol)
Athena - Soldier, Poet, King by The Oh Hellos (I feel this one is pretty self-explanatory; just give it a listen, and all will be made clear)
Artemis - Artemis by AURORA (listen, I know how silly this sounds, but it's just too fucking good to say no); Running With Wolves by AURORA (if you want a song that isn't literally named after her lmao)
Aphrodite - Dream A Little Dream Of Me by Ella Fitzgerald & Luis Armstrong ( I was so torn for this one, but I decided on this song because I love how sweet and wholesome it is c:)
Ares - Wanted Dead Or Alive by Bon Jovi (there were other contenders, but this song is just way too good lol)
Eros (I have a playlist for him, despite still needing an altar) - Lollipop by MIKA (I honestly don't know why; I just strongly associate this song with him)
Persephone - Heathens by AURORA (I just love the power in this song; I believe it's actually about Eve from The Bible, but it makes me think of Persephone so much, for some reason)
Haides - This Could Be My Last Song by Frank Watkinson (an original song made by an old man who sings on YouTube; there are a lot of options I could've put here, but this, I chose very intentionally)
Poseidon - You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC (there's a lot of songs I love for him, most of which are 80's rock, but this one kept coming up, so I chose it c:)
Zeus - Thunderstruck by AC/DC (I am legally obligated to put this song here)
Hera - Killer Queen by Queen (I'm also legally obligated to put this song here)
Hestia - What A Wonderful World by Luis Armstrong (this song makes me feel safe every time I hear it)
- I'm not including the Norse deities I worship, since this is a Helpol thing.
DAY TWENTY: Do you have a favorite aspect of Hellenic Polytheism?
- Probably the freedom of practice. Outside of the deities that I love, I think having the freedom of choice is really appealing to me (and yes, I know other religions offer that as well; this is just one of the many things I love about Helpol, outside of the gods I worship). As a practice, Helpol has always varied from place to place, person to person, and I think that's very beautiful. It feels very personal in that way, and no one has the exact same experience, even if they are extremely similar. That's something I really love about the practice. c:
DAY TWENTY-ONE: Are there any retellings/adaptations of Greek mythology that you LIKE? Why/why not?
- In regards to retellings, I'm not typically a fan of them. Epic: The Musical is fun, but it had been ruined for me for a period of time due to the fandom and some of the creative decisions made (mostly the fandom, though). Many of the fandom people I met just...didn't care to acknowledge that some people actively worship these deities in real life as well as the fact that Epic is NOT The Odyssey, nor are they the same story. Same characters, same end goal, but absolutely not the same progression. Staying away from the fandom, I can appreciate that Epic is a story of its own that's simply based on The Odyssey; it's very much so its own thing. I feel that the Helpol community rightfully has mixed feelings about it but that we should really stop immediately discounting things that are taking inspiration from Greek mythology because it's actually pretty cool that people are taking an interest in these ancient stories. Also, I feel that we often forget that these creators 1. do not worship the gods, and 2. do not realize that people exist today who STILL worship these gods. It's sad, but it's true.
- I also enjoy Hades: The Game a lot! Absolutely fantastic gameplay, and I enjoy the characters a lot. It's not accurate to the original myth, and it does seem to miss some of the point of the original, but it's still a pretty cool game with a really interesting story. There are some others as well, but I can't seem to remember them well right now, for some reason.
DAY TWENTY-TWO: Is there an aspect of Hellenic Polytheism you haven't yet gotten to try but hope to in the future? Do you have any other Helpol-related goals for the next year?
- Honestly, I don't do anything with daimones. It's something I should probably look into more, but it's not something that's ever really called to me. I'm curious to learn more about it in the future, however, in order to understand more and see if it's something I'd like to incorporate. Aside from that, the only goals I have are related to ancestor worship, hero worship, and generally getting more involved with my spirituality in the future.
DAY TWENTY-THREE: What's a bit of UPG you have with your deities?
- The world isn't ready for my UPGs.
DAY TWENTY-FOUR: What's an offering you've made that you're really proud of?
- This question has singlehandedly unlocked a beast within me that's been hiding away. Allow me to explain. Back when I was first starting out with deities, I carved an entire caduceus for Lord Hermes out of soap. I also carved a rose out of soap for Aphrodite. These were things that I was extremely proud of and were thrown away - the caduceus was coercion from an abusive asshole, and the rose was thrown away with my knowledge at all. Both were thrown away due to the same fucking asshole, AND YEAH, I'M STILL MAD ABOUT IT.
┻┻︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ︵┻┻
DAY TWENTY-FIVE: What was the most surprising thing you've learned about Hellenic Polytheism or your deities?
- Honestly, all of it. When I first started out as even just a pagan, I knew virtually NOTHING about Greek mythology. It's pretty funny, actually, because so many people I know were super into Greek mythology as kids or read Percy Jackson or whatnot, but for me, I knew absolutely nothing and came in completely blind lmao. Learning about anything related to Greek mythology, Hellenic Polytheism, and related topics was absolutely wild for me; kid me would be so surprised to see that we went down this path.
DAY TWENTY-SIX: Do you celebrate any festivals? Which ones, or why not?
- I celebrate a few festivals, but I'm also planning to create my own, for my own purposes. Currently, I celebrate Anthesteria (my fav, tbh), City Dionysia, Theogamia, and Thargelia. Sometimes I celebrate Rural Dionysia, too, but that one kind of depends. In the past, I've celebrated others, but due to some interpersonal drama, those festivals have a bit of a bad association for me now, and I still need to reassociate them (I'm not willing to elaborate on this). But yeah, festivals are fun! I want to convert some modern celebrations into Helpol celebrations as well as invent my own.
DAY TWENTY-SEVEN: Share a fun fact about one or more of your deities that you think is underrated or not well-known.
- Hermes is a god of animal husbandry, and this is CONSTANTLY forgotten about. What, you ask, is animal husbandry? As one person put it, "Animal Husbandry pertains to the care, cultivation, and breeding of animals kept as pets or as livestock." This includes, but is not limited to, beekeeping, cattle farming, poultry farming, fish farming, owning a dog, owning a cat, rehabilitating wild animals, and more. Animal husbandry includes a wide variety of animal-human relationships (none of which are romantic or sexual, TO BE CLEAR; that's not what "husbandry" is in this context), and that special familial bond you have with a dog, cat, or otherwise? Animal husbandry, baby. 😎 Hermes deserves more credit for strengthening the bonds humans have with animals, and I never, EVER see anyone mention this - online or otherwise. If you ever need to bond with an animal, Hermes is your guy, remember.
DAY TWENTY-EIGHT: What is your favorite myth?
- Hands-down, Apollo and Hyacinthus. It's the first myth that that made me cry while I was reading it. I favor the version with Zephyrus because, to me, it adds a lot of depth to the story. I do also love a lot of Hermes' myths, like the one where he has a yelling competition with that one guy and the guy dies because he can't physically yell louder than, you know, a god. Or the one where Hermes wanted to do the devil's tango with Aphrodite, but she was like, "Nah," and he was bummed about it, so Zeus, pitying his son (the actual phrasing in the myth), sent down an eagle to steal Aphrodite's sandal while she was bathing in a river and gave it to Hermes, which he returned to her once she started looking for it, and she did the deed with him for the favor, and then they had a kid (and Hermes put an eagle constellation in the sky as a thank you to Zeus). That one's silly to me because of the nature of just returning your crush's missing sandal and your crush being like, "Thank you! I'll do the devil's tango with you now!" But also having your dad steal your crush's sandal in the first place and give it to you in order for that to happen; it's so wild to me. There are some pretty great Hermes myths that I think are a little slept on lol. I also love that myth where Ares gets trapped in a bronze jar by two brothers who were giants (they tried to storm Olympus, Ares tried to stop them and was captured), and, presumably, no one realized what had happened (AFTER THIRTEEN MONTHS) until the giants' stepmother had told Hermes, so Hermes and Artemis went to save him (and did successfully, with Artemis turning into a deer and causing the brother to accidentally strike and kill each other while Hermes secretly snatched the jar with Ares in it). Very silly myth; what a wild concept of Ares just being straight up trapped in a jar for an entire year. Probably indicative of a time of peace, still funny regardless. AND the one with Ariadne and Dionysus, just because they're so sweet together. Ugh, I love too many, I have to stop now or I'll keep going forever.
DAY TWENTY-NINE: What is an aspect of your deities that you really appreciate?
- This is kind of hard to answer without going through each of them, honestly, but as an overarching thing, I appreciate how the deities I'm closest to are incredibly compassionate and understanding with me. They know my faults, and they love me anyway, and that's something I'm very grateful for.
DAY THIRTY: Do you have a visual interpretation of your deities? Is this different from usual depictions you see of them?
- Yes and sometimes. I can detail how they all appear in my mind, I suppose, but that'll take a lot of energy out of me, so I think I'll just...skip describing them lol. I'd rather make a separate post about it, I think. Some of them seem to look very different from ways I've heard them described, particularly Lord Haides and Lady Persephone. Lord Hermes varies a lot in appearance, but I don't think I've ever seen an exact representation of how I see him, honestly; some get close but aren't exactly the same. Lord Dionysus is in a similar boat with Hermes where oftentimes, the representations get pretty damn close, but there's always something that's just slightly off from how I actually see him.
DAY THIRTY-ONE: Share a positive experience you've had this month/year with one or more of your deities.
- Literally just a few days ago, I did a reading with Lord Apollon that was actually very positive. I really needed to hear it from him. I've had lots of other experiences, but they're a bit personal, and I'd rather keep the sanctity of that. They're sacred to me, and that's all that really matters. 🧡
---
Happy New Year, everyone! Take care this year. 🧡🫂
#helpol#hellenic polytheism#deity worship#for fun#not necessarily an ask game so idk what to call it#but this was very fun c:

The OCs you posted recently look really cool- could you talk a bit about them? Maybe the antagonists as well?
!! oh thank you :D
suuure yea :>> it's a smaller, newer thing of mine so not a lot n some of it may change!! but here's some profiles lol,
✧ Tide (the square head; they/them) is some sort of creature thing who lives in a remnant of an old world that decayed a long time ago after finding themself trapped there (that changes after they meet the goddess). they're head over heels for the goddess that still remains in the corridors there and they're not very normal about it hbfhvs - they can't be killed by any regular shmegular means and i have fun with that loll
✧ Vernor (ponytail gal; she/her) i don't have a lot for her, but she ended up in the same place Tide did and is very upset about it, understandably. she's good a martial arts and cries easily, and is pretty suspicious of most strangers :) she has a small knife-thing that works like a witch's broom (you have to hold the little handle for dear life though lmao) but i haven't gotten around to drawing it so !
✧ Dire (red circle; he/him) was created by the aforementioned goddess to dump emotions/thoughts she didn't want into, and then just sent him on his way lmfvhsh - because of that he is confused most of the time and still pretends to know everything but is figuring things out for real lol :3👍he hates to change his clothing and is snappy, and the snappiness may get worse on personal proximity hbfshv
^ these three have a Thing goin on. mostly qpp cuz i think it's fun :33
✧ Sleepy (the antagonist, he/him) the elusive guy. elusive bc i haven't drawn him lmfsh - another budy trapped in this old chunk of a dead world, he is also upset about it but to a much more desperate extent lol - his name isn't actually Sleepy but Tide nicknamed him that when they first met and now he can't seem to shake it hfsh, he Does hate it :) he is violent but he can play nicies so he does that most time loll
✧ the goddess (only thing holding this world together, She/her/it (capitalization is optional :3)) has been here for ages, ages, ages. her world's been long dead but she just keeps living for the monotony of it hfsh; plus, it's like her job never ended if she just keeps doing the same regular things she always did. bc of that it's actually preserved her chunk of annihilation, and sucks other creatures in w/o her knowing. the chunk is like a maze that keeps changing shape, so unless you can see it from a god's eyes the place is iiiiiinfinite! and terrible; the place changes to her moods and wishes, which can be interpreted p strangely lol :3 she's talked to and kept Tide around bc she needed somebody to deal with all these weird people coming into her dang house, and it's worked out fairly well (dubious)! :D
the world-chunk is inspired by vaporwave, abandoned malls, and the distinct smell of chlorine my mother has sometimes loll :)
#just us hi#a dollar and 75 cents#HELLO#thanks for asking. here are many words bfhsvkk#the main 3 have their little powers too but i'm still workshopping those n they aren't so important really lol :)#they're kinda my 'neutral' project so if i get stuck and can't pick anything i wanna do/think abt i just default to them hfh :>>#also tide can go by any pronouns but i am/was tired. depending on whose talking abt them they'll change sometimes hfsbhv#vernor made everyone in the group a lesbian by default so everyone say thanks vernor lmvjskvj#dire is trans 💥💥💥 was created and immediately went 'do we have other options' and She went '? yeah' 'well let's see them' kfsvhb#sleepy was transported here in his PJs n that's how he got that funkin name hfbvsj <3 he's got good reasons for everything but Aaaaawful#methods lolll - he n tide were semi-close but then Uh Ohh !! he went and did a thing hfh :)#the goddess pretends like it doesn't see anything but She is LOCKED in. laser-focused. next to nothing is escaping her#despite being the goddess here she can't harm anybody; thaaat's another reason for tide lol :3#mmm and i think i only missed Diane; diane lives in a place that never moves and nearly anyone can find when they need to#i think the goddess loves her n that's why she doesn't move hfshb :3#//ANYWHO yeah. stuff#this is one of my smaller projects...#can you imagine how unmanageable pi.e is Lmaoooo#//THANKS for the ask and interest ! ! ! :D#[spins spins throws glitter on you spins]

#s 1 and 20, for edward? :}c
OMG HIII FRIEND OFC OFC
since i haven't talked about him much on this blog, i'll be interjecting with basic info every now and then to make answers clearer :3
this is edward - he's a demon living in the outskirts of london in the mid-1800s or so:
old pic, i haven't drawn him in yeaarrsss ;^;
he is a fandomless oc and his 15-year anniversary was last year holy shit whaaa
1. What kind of person is your OC in a crisis? Are they calm and collected? Do they panic? Or are they chronically the cause?
i, er.......... "yes"
or D, all of the above LOL
edward has a 0-100 temperament, he's either totally unfazed or has completely gone off the deep end. the latter is relatively uncommon though, very rarely is he faced with something he perceives as a real threat, both because he benefits from his urban legend/cryptid status-- people either don't know he exists, or they're just too scared of him to fuck around and find out-- and because he's unusually careful for a demon of his caliber. he's cognizant of the fact that he's not truly immortal and that he could attract the attention of the wrong force of nature one day and eat shit.
a true panic response for edward typically manifests with a transformation* and a show of violence, but usually his size alone will ward off the threat. doesn't stop the rampaging though - if he's reached this point he's also reached a point where he's decided people will pay until he's satisfied.
*edward is able to shift between his human skin and a towering demonic form at least three times his size
20. Has your OC ever done something terrible and lied about it? Did they run away or blame someone else for it? How long did they maintain the lie and did the truth ever come out?
weirdly enough, edward's less of a boldfaced liar and more of the type to lie by omission... but only to others, not so much with himself. he's very good at twisting words and taking advantage of technicalities and semantics when making deals, but when it comes to having to remediate his own errors, he has a tendency to fumble baaad, especially when improvising lmao
even then, what he considers an "error" is a little hard to pin down. he's done plenty of heinous things, both in his current life and past life as a human, but i think he classes most "mistakes" as actions that could potentially compromise his secrecy. public attention is his achilles heel, for instance, and lying his way out of a self-inflicted scene is weirdly difficult for him. it's just hard for him to go off-script, really, and even harder to run away [skull emoji], and in situations like this, if the truth were to come out it would lead to an immediate panic response.
i guess i can think of one lie that he's maintained for most of his life. naturally, in his current state, he considers himself above anything resembling affection. human emotions suck, they're a waste of time, unfit for his elevated existence, etc. to love or truly befriend anyone would be categorically terrible to him, but... he makes room in his heart for one person only, evangeline, the first who ever showed him kindness when no-one else would. he won't admit this affection out loud, of course, and at this point his feelings for her are merely instinctual, he doesn't even consciously recognize them. but he'd have a panic response above all panic responses if anyone were to ever point it out, and while some people have come close, they've never gotten close enough to confront him about it.
easily his biggest tell is the fact that he continues to blame her death on her. he killed her himself btw
this man will literally set fire to the world instead of just admitting he loves a girl. so the lie has gone on for literal decades in-universe and has, so far, never fallen to the truth
lol look. edward is not at ALL a good person okay, not by any stretch of the imagination, but i still love him :3c
thank you for the assskkkk <3
get to know the oc ask game!

UPDATE: Decided that I wanted to give this meme a different layout this year after all. Also put the image descriptions under the cut so this post won't be so long lol
January: I dabbled in traditional art again and doing an environment, creating some sort of illustration about my character Jurou's island. it came out surprisingly well considering it combined two things I don't do a whole lot: environments and traditional art.
February: I did not draw a whole lot this month it seems, most what I found was reblogs. I did however make this valentine's day Shigadabi thing, so I figured it'd be fitting to put here.
March: Another low-art month, decided to put Toga here as it was apparently the month I started doing my neon palette L.O.V series of sorts.
April: my boy Konjou. HAD to put him here, he's one of my favorites.
May: First time I tried out comic-panel art style with my favorite Spider Dad, Jurou.
June: Another nearly-no-art-month, but I did find this cute doodle of kid Tenko I did in June.
July: My Moth spirit set. Yaguro was my fave from it, as his profile in the image was probably the best profile I'd ever drawn then (and since OTL)
August: Start of my "cool pose ladies" series (that I still haven't finished lol) starting with Yume.
September: Konjou x Jinchou, had to include this one as it was one of the few times I skipped the lineart phase and it actually came out really good.
October: As much as I wanted to include the halloween thing(s) I did, I just absolutely LOVE this piece, so I had to pick it instead lol
November: My favorite villain siblings duo, Angus and Franziska. This one was kinda fun because while I was making it I kept thinking it sucks, but once I finished it, it became one of my favorite pieces I'd made so far. Funny how splashing colors onto a piece can fix a lot of issues lmao
December: Haven't drawn much yet, but decided to pick one of my newest ocs, Kuromoya. I'm quite happy with how that piece came out.

you’re gonna make me cry Jay 😭 I still dunno if I’ll write it since I’ve.. never written anything Shinee related and I’m worried I don’t know them well enough 💀 Plus I’ve been having difficulties writing lmao..
!! Please tag me in any Shinee anything (if that’s okay) that you write from now on tho!! I have notifs on for you but I rarely get them 😭
You have WHAT on?? For my writing blog, right? Cuz if you have them on here you're insane (but ily). I don't post very much, and haven't written much sub!idol stuff in even longer with my random platonic-only focus in my pieces as of late ;; I only have a dom!Minho drabble out for SHINee right now, which is why I wanted to write some more for them. Maybe I'll do a reaction soon but someone *cough subby!stripper!Hyunjin cough* has drawn my attention away from SHINee for the moment. But I can definitely tag you when I write some more stuff for them ^^
Also, if you need any help, please feel free talk to me about it! SHINee is one of the groups I've followed for so long that I can no longer safely choose a bias due to loving them all. We might see them slightly different in terms of what they'd be like in the bedroom, but I can always help assure you if you have ideas that you aren't confident in. I'm sure you'll be able to write something marvelous for him if you can surpass the dreaded writer's block (I really hope you can surpass it quickly cuz jeez those times always suck to deal with)
