Zoro carries a grappling hook with him? That's the kind of man I want to be

Zoro and Kuina being all for using real katanas and murdering each other is peak pre-teen behavior

They really lean into Kuro's Freddy Krueger vibes.

Kuina beating Zoro 2000 times and then admitting that she knows that she has the advantage for now, but worries that the weakness that's supposedly innate to women as they mature will take it all away from her - it's such a real feeling? It's so relatable? And Zoro just refusing to accept that? Screaming at Kuina that she's his goal, so talking down about herself is disrespectful not only to her, but to him and his training and his 2000 lost bouts? I have so many feelings guys

And then they get no time together. She's dead the next day of totally natural causes (at least I think it is, based on what I've seen) and its fucking unfair. I'm glad Zoro has Luffy as a friend now, bc he deserves someone who he knows won't die on him

He wants her sword bc he wants her to be there when he becomes the greatest swordsman in the world [me, ugly crying]

Kuro going around, destroying furniture and saying the most out of pocket shit, just to make Kaya miserable as he tries to kill her - this is what makes him an evil pirate. The sheer disregard for human decency

I love the soundtrack in this scene though

I'm sorry but the black cat twins look SO STUPID. Kuro is genuinely scary here and then it jumps to the two morons wearing cat ears. I'm sorry but even when you try to make them more of a challenge, it's still a major tonal shift

'annoyingly resilient' is Luffy's whole m.o.

The Going Merry being named after her deceased family friend is such a heartwarming moment. Also I see you, putting Kaya in an outfit just like she wears in the anime. Don't think I didn't notice

I'm 100% certain that Usopp returns to Kaya after they find the One Piece. It means everything to me

I'm getting ahead a little of myself but I don't really get Nami being upset about Luffy not telling her about Garp. Like, I'm p sure we all know that Luffy has no idea that's important information. He wasn't actually keeping a secret - that would imply he has some kind of interior self that he's keeping hidden, and we know that's not true. She's just getting butthurt bc it hits close to home

Anyways, I'll be taking a break for the rest of the day and starting up again tomorrow. We're just about to meet Sanji and Zeff!!
