❝is that supposed to be new information to me or something?❞ Betty teased, crossing her arms in front of her as she watched Alec leave the training room. her attention slid back to Izzy, lips pressed together in a grin even with the exasperation in the other girl’s tone. it was pointless to contradict her, knowing by now that the sibling rivalry as well as her admission meant that she wasn’t going to change her mind, no matter what. and there was a large part of Betty that admired that trait - doing whatever you wanted without having to listen to anyone else’s opinions, especially the ones that didn’t matter. she was quickly picking up on the fact that shadowhunting wasn’t the only thing Isabelle could teach her.

❝so why don’t you tell me what to do instead?❞ her arms ached from the hours of practice they had already put in, despite it still being relatively early in the day. and yet, Betty wasn’t going to admit to either herself or the other girl that she was ready for a break. swiping her forearm over her forehead she bent her knees again, fingers tightening on the blade she held in her hand. ❝or better yet, show me.❞
