“ you  look  so  pretty  like  this.  “ (to Zoe from Piers)
again i know this is a meme that i have lost and i thiiiink it was a spicy meme sooo have this lol
A grin crosses her features with a slight rush of pink to her cheeks. Zoe slowly drops her bra to the floor next to her before shifting to straddle him and sit delicately in his lap. She leans in, brushing her lips against his as her arms wrap around his neck. "Ever the honest gentleman, aren't you, Lieutenant? Or are you always like this with all the girls, hm? Butterin' them up.... Flashin' that smile of yours."

In terms of getting really obscure facts about my Special Interests(tm) I am a master.
So here’s a whole bunch of obscure Resident Evil facts for y’all!
Part two: here!
Part three: here!
Lemme know if any of these surprised you or if you knew any of these!
☠️ Leon is scared of lightning (Astraphobia) but not thunder. (RE6)
☠️ Chris has a fear of late night phone calls because that’s how he learned of his parents death.
☠️ Piers is very heavily implied to be Bisexual due to a file in Revelations 2 (his concept art also implies this, if you know you know)
☠️ The Hound Wolf Squad is the only squad Chris has had that have all survived the entire game.
☠️ Wesker and Birkin were childhood friends
☠️ The Cerberus are all clones of each other which is why they’re all Doberman
☠️ Leon is a terrible driver, crashing one of just about every vehicle type including cars, a boat, a motorbike, a plane and a helicopter.
☠️ Sheva is one of the only left handed characters
☠️ Wesker wore glasses to hide his emotions (and later his red eyes)
☠️ Chris can play Bass guitar
☠️ Ada Wong isn’t her real name
☠️ Vector is Japanese
☠️ Vector is the only character that can canonically turn invisible (Hunk can too but only in various mercenary modes)
☠️ Hunk is said to respond emotionally to the name ‘Bella’
☠️ The USS soldier who shot Birkin and started the outbreak had the callsign ‘Ghost’
☠️ Nighthawk has two call signs, the other being ‘Lone Wolf’
☠️ Barry Burton and Wesker are the same age however Wesker appeared to stop aging at 38 years old after infection.
☠️ Jake Muller was conceived before Wesker was infected with the Progenitor Virus making his immunity to the C Virus a plot hole.
☠️ Lobo is the only member of the Hound Wolf Squad that had worked with Chris prior to Village. See Heavenly Island
☠️ Piers was introduced in the comic The Marhawa Desire set before RE6
☠️ Chris and Jill both know 7 fighting styles. Leon knows 6
☠️ Lady Dimitrescu is highly implied to be Lesbian
☠️ Heisenberg was the one who told Chris and the Hound Wolf Squad about Miranda (though planned to betray them from the beginning)
☠️ Ethan’s immortality was gained back in RE7 at the dinner table scene with the Bakers as they resurrected him after Jack killed him.
☠️ Piers and Claire kept in contact via email and later phone calls up until his death in China. It is implied he told her nothing about Chris’s amnesia at the time.
☠️ Jill Valentine learned to lock pick from her father who was a French thief
☠️ Leon once considered suicide after the events of RE2 but stayed alive because Sherry needed him
☠️ Leon’s parents were both criminals who died when he was a child. He was inspired to become a cop after the one who rescued him.
☠️ Hunk had an intense rivalry with Nicholai which is why he interfered so much with Vector and Wolfpack.
☠️ Birkin prided himself on being the youngest Umbrella researcher at only 16 until a 10 year old Alexia Ashford came along.
☠️ Wesker made his own blueprints for anti BOW weaponry which later inspired the creations of Thor’s Hammer and modifications based on his original Samurai Edge called the AW Model
☠️Jake Muller is an incredibly gifted pianist
☠️ Chris Redfield was a notorious prankster during his days at STARS
☠️ When Chris went missing after Edonia one of the people Piers contacted was Sheva.
☠️ Leon and Wesker never meet nor interact directly
☠️ Hunk has also never interacted with any of the main characters including Wesker
☠️ During RE2 Wesker/Ada and Hunk were working against each other to obtain the G Virus unknowingly
☠️ Some, if not all of Wolfpack survive the Raccoon City outbreak after sparing Leon, Claire and Sherry and betraying Umbrella.
☠️The BSAA were actively working against Chris and the HWS in Village, implying to even have the green light to kill them.
☠️ Zoe Baker after RE7 is implied to have become an informant for Chris Redfield and a journalist
☠️ Hunk agreed to personally train Vector after they fought to a draw. Vector is also the only character to ever escape from Hunk’s neck snapping headlock.
☠️ The USS were Umbrella’s personal army whilst the UBCS were just hired mercenaries and in the end considered a liability
☠️ Simmons from RE6 was one of the ones responsible for passing the vote to blow up Raccoon City
☠️ About 10% of humans have immunity to the T-Virus and Umbrella never figured out how
☠️ Chief Irons was straight up a serial killer able to cover his tracks thanks to Umbrella’s involvement while also being paid to stay quiet about their experiments
☠️ Hunk developed his own fighting style called Close Quarters Quarantined Battle Zone after Umbrella’s downfall in 2003 in which he became a legendary mercenary.
☠️ Thanks to Shadows of Rose, Chris is implied to still be working well into his 60’s as well as the Hound Wolf Squad.
☠️ ‘K’ from Shadows of Rose is heavily implied to be an older Canine from the HWS
☠️ The new Death Island CGI movie is not only the first time we’ll see Jill in the timeline since 2009 but also the first time we’ll see Leon and Jill onscreen together

didn't the connections just want Evie as a weapon/ tool to end all wars (I need to check that file in 7) and Miranda wanted a replacement for Eva hence why she decided to dig up her dead daughter and give them tissue samples (high key even if Miranda brought Eva back the poor kid would never ever be good enough Miranda has had 100 odd years of putting the child on a pedestal)
also Alan Droney (Director* douche who transported Evie with Mia... again the connections sent two 2 people to transport Evie without the treatments needed to keep her stable will that ever not be a problem for me and something i don't see other people mentioning at all?) was posing as a father figure to Evie who rejected her and Evie wanted Ethan to be daddy instead of Jack when he turned up which made Jack mad and Ethan has no idea what he's on about and of course rejects her as well
*in game they call him that and Mia is a caretaker
basically I hope Evie finds people in the conciousness of mold who know everything about her whilst not being directly affected by her violence and help her out (mold therapy group is a idea near and dear to my heart)
As far as the Connections go--tl;dr i went and did some research which is why this took a bit to answer, but yeah, it looks like the Connections DID always plan to use Evie... but Miranda didn't just provide mold, she also provided DNA of her daughter for use in Evie's creation. This, combined with the fact that rose is a 'perfect Eveline' and Eveline's name being so close to Miranda's daughter (Eva) are contet clues that Miranda wanted Eveline made so she could do what she tried with rose. Meaning Eveline's original 'true' purpose was to become Miranda's daughter, but she was 'imperfect'. Because of the emphasis on rose being 'perfect' and Eveline being 'imperfect', I think you make a great point about how ultimately, Eva probably wouldn't have been good enough. None of the 4 Lords were, despite all their power, Miranda still made them feel like they weren't enough to please her.
(side note: this whole 'Miranda was working with Connections!!!' feels very like it was decided after the fact/making it up as they go along. But this interpretation makes it make more sense, at least to me.)
iirc (and someone can feel free to correct me), Mia and her partner were posing as Mia's parents specifically to avoid arousing suspicion when they were transporting her. They weren't intended to be actual parental figures to her. But she was a heavily sheltered child, likely lonely, so she wasn't going to understand it was fake.
We know Evie latched onto Mia as a mother figure, I don't know if she latched onto the guy as a father figure, though. She killed that guy because he essentially rejected her, yeah. If she did see him as a father figure, it was not for very long and it was not to the extent she latched onto Mia (which is intentional--you're not really supposed to care about that guy, so Evie likely didn't either). She also let Ethan 'defy' her much longer than she did Alan.
Evie did use Mia to lure Ethan, though. re7 is explicit about that, bc when Mia is lucid, she tells Ethan she didn't send him the video--meaning Evie was controlling her. Evie wanted Ethan as a father figure because her 'mom' should be married to her 'dad'. I don't think she ever saw Jack as a father figure, because he had adult children her 'mother's age, and because those children (Lucas and Zoe) would likely have been rivals for his love. It's easier for her to play house with Mithan as her parents, and the Bakers as extended family.
Infected!Jack was jealous, yeah, because Ethan was essentially going to replace him as the male head of the family, but Infected!Jack is not the real Jack. Those feelings and actions came from the false family hierarchy that Eveline set up, in which she is both the head of the family and the treasured only grand-child (which is why her rapid aging works as such a good twist; a lot of southern families have an old matriarch like that, and many of them also have a darling granddaughter who is adored).
tbh I don't really care what happens to Evie in the mold matrix, it's just upsetting to me that people call a child irredeemable and deserving of death. Like... they can't see Eveline as the tragedy she is. But Lady D and Heisenberg get praised to high heaven.

I really want to edit the goofs page of resident evil 7 biohazard imdb page? why?
because this is what was listed
goof: Zoe tells Ethan to 'Use the serum on him' when he is attacked by Jack and he does so. Afterwards Zoe is freaked out by the idea that there is only one serum left, even though she knew that there were only two to begin with.
this is not what happened it was Mia who reacted that way
Mia Winters: "There's only one left? There can't just be one left."
Zoe Baker: "What the hell are we gonna do now?“
will I ever not be annoyed by people being mad at Zoe about this? nope not really. the serum was Zoe's last hope to get out and escape. When (rightly) choosing Mia she resigns herself to staying where she and succumbing to the mold
goof: Several files in the game state that it takes 3 days minimum for the Mold infection to take complete control of it's victims, but the Daughters DLC show the Bakers fell to this in less than an hour.
the Bakers were in direct contact with Evie (Marge and Jack both touched her and what we see of Mia her getting infected was actually from touching Alan) also trauma and kindness in one of the files it states Evie appears as a child in need of existence
goof In spite of having been missing for 2 years, the ship still has its lights on.
3 years and the mold made Mia hallucinate a door being gone so like what?
I'm just not sure how to word any of this all though

If I may. The Four Lords with a reader who is a child of the Bakers who moved to the village, for whatever reason, like a year before Eveline showed up at the house and infected them.
How would they handle the news that their humans parents were infected for years and are now dead? Like would they try to hide the deaths, would they be honest and tell the reader about what happened and how would they go about comforting you? Would they try and track down Lucas and Zoe to bring them to the village?
Long Lost Baker with the Four Lords
(This was an interesting one! Very fun to write!! Thank you for this and I hope you enjoy it! I added Joe cause his dlc was bussin)
Alcina Dimitrescu
She had no idea about your family background
And didn't care to ask you, since you never brought it up
But you where in the library with her
Picking out a book, when you came across a file
"Huh. You knew about the Bakers? They were my family."
"Oh?" Alcina asked, raising a brow at you, "Well they were killed. If they wher-"
You paused, shaking, "What? They... they where killed ?"
Alcina moved to your side, putting a comforting arm around you
"Yes. My Love... did you care for them?"
You nodded, almost choking on your emotions
'Dead.' You thought
You didn't even really say goodbye
Your father, Jack, didn't want you to leave the safety of their home
But your mother, Marguerite, insisted that there was more to the world, than just that old ass swamp
Zoe and Lucas really didn't want you to leave either
But you left, Lucas helping you navigate away and Zoe giving you some money, that she saved up
"The mold... The girl, Eveline, she took over the home... and your parents are gone. But your siblings and uncle live."
You looked at her in shock, you didn't know who Eveline was
But some of your family was alive!
When Alcina saw the hope in your eyes, she smiled, "What would you like me to do?"
"Try and bring them here! Please!"
She nodded, your wish was her command
For months, she had known you might want your family with you
They were being held away from the Castle, so she could surprise you
Though getting Joe and the BSAA soldiers that surrounded said home
Joe was also taken
"Come. I have something to show you." She stood up, towering over you, keeping a hand on your back
You stood, letting her lead you out
Through the Castle and Vineyard, you came up to a house, small enough for a few people
You heard yelling, a familiar voice
"LET US OUT YOU GIANT BITCH!! FUCKIN-"
"Will you shut up? She said, there was someone here we knew."
"HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE-"
You rushed to the door, kicking it down
"OW!! GOTDAMN IT!!"
Tears welled up in your eyes again
"LUCAS? ZOE!? UNCLE JOE!!"
They were speechless as well
What a happy family reunion!
Tears and hugs were given
Joe stood up, from hugging you three, to look at Alcina, "Thank you from keeping my youngest (niece/nephew) safe."
Alcina looked away, "No need to thank me, human. I didn't care for any of you, but I knew this would make them happy."
Angie and Donna Beneviento
Angie noticed that you had been feeling a bit down lately
So she told Donna about it, whom rushed to your side
"My Dear, what's the matter? Angie says your feeling blue."
You looked at her, a sad look in your eyes
"Ah... its nothing really, Love. Im... im just think about my family. I havent really been able to know anything going on with them..."
It really bothered you, and both of the ladies could see that
Donna looked at you and took your hand
"Do you remember how they looked, the last time you saw them?"
You nodded sadly, smiling wistfully
"Yep, Momma was making me a cake, for me finishing off collage. Pops he was rebuilding the old car, with my brother Lucas. And Zoe, she and I were playing in the front yard, supposing to do chores."
Donna nodded, and a bit of pollen began to swirl around you both
You sat up straight, it was your family
The Baker's, as you knew them
They were happy to see you
It made your heart burst, and you smiled
Tears falling down your cheeks, as your family gathered around you and Donna hugging you both
It felt good to see them, even though you knew it really wasn't them
Donna wiped your tears, and you sighed contently
Starting a conversation with your "mother" and "father"
Your "siblings" talking to Angie and Donna
A few hours later the pollen wore off
But you where happy, and turned to Donna
Giving her a kiss, "Thank you. I dont know what's happened to them... but that was good for me. I appreciate it."
But Donna didn't smile back, and Angie grew quiet
"Your family. They... your parents are dead..."
You looked at her, shocked, "How-"
"Mother Miranda has said that their one with the mold..."
You took that information in, knowing about your parents... was a bit of a... surprise
"And my brother and sister?"
Donna shook her head, smiling, "Alive and safe from that."
You smiled and thanked her again with a kiss
You may not be able to see them, in real life, but you COULD see them all as you remembered them
Salvatore Moreau
You had told Salvatore all about your home life, before moving to the village
He had asked about your family, trying to compare his own with yours
You sympathetically told him that you and your siblings ACTUALLY got alone
And that your family was always tight
Your mother cooked badass meals
And your dad was always the person to run to for the best advice and protection
Your brother was a delinquent genius
And your sister was always happy to just be there for you
While his "family" left alot to be desired
You had pictures of them, which you shared
He looked at them with wonder, seeing how happy you were
This is when he decided to get them, well the alive ones
His Cadou experiments had changed
Making them more human, to infiltrate the regular world and kidnap your family
He surprised you one day
Encouraging you to go for a moonlit walk with him
Yelling was coming from a nearby cave
"Moreau, Love. I dont-"
"Its not, my most Precious. I swear, you will love this surprise."
You gave him a frown and let him continue to lead you on
Inside the cave, you where met with 3 cages
Joe, Lucas and Zoe!
Your jaw dropped, and Moreau clapped happily as you rushed and unlocked the cages
Embracing your family, though Joe pulled away ready to blast Moreau away
After a long explanation, your family accepted the fish man as their own
Moreau was careful to hid your family from Mother Miranda
Sadly, he couldn't save your mother and father, but the rest of your family were safe in his domain
Karl Heisenberg
You both were having dinner when he asked you about your birth name
"Oh. It's Baker... I think. I was adopted by them."
"Adopted? Hope they treated you better than that bitch, Miranda." He scoffed
You laughed, assuring him that they did
Then you went into stories about your family
As you finished up a story about you and Lucas dodging the cops and taking quite the ass whoopin from Jack
You noticed Heisenberg narrowing his eyes at the names in the story
"Jack... Marguerite.... Zoe... Lucas... Joe..." he grumbled letting the names roll off of his tongue
Then he stood up, and looked at you
"THEM BAKERS!?"
You jumped at his outburst, then nodding slowly at him
"HOLY SHIT!! THEIR- Well the kids and uncle still live." He told you
You looked at him like he had gone absolutely mad
"What are you talking about, Karl?"
He sat back down, holding both your hands in his, looking you in the eyes
He was serious when he did this
Karl explained to you about the mold and what happened in Louisiana, a couple years ago
"Miranda had a file on them. I dont know how the hell she got it, but I managed to take a peek at it. I had no idea you were one of them."
You sat back in your chair, processing the information
"My... my siblings and uncle are ok?" You huffed with relief
Karl nodded, pulling you into a hug, comforting you
You fell into his embrace, "Thank you for telling me..."
Heisenberg let out a hum and rubbed your back
You opened your mouth to speak
"No." He cut you off, "im not going. And im not sending anyone. You KNOW what Miranda planning..."
You nodded, and buried your face in his chest
You were happy that they would be safe from her
But sad that you may never see them
Heisenberg had a plan for you to be saved as well

I really wish the Daughters DLC was more incorporated in the main game of 7 Mia was infected and she asked to be put in the trailer because she didn't want to infect the Bakers and was in the process of writing them all a note telling them about Eveline and about the serum and what it does (you know the serum that Zoe knows about in the main game and directs Ethan to get) when Jack found Eveline and it all started downhill from there...
also we might never know how Mia met the connections and how long it took for her too learn the illegal side of the business. I wonder how much of the sales pitch is of the regenerative properties of the mold? like one of the files mentions how quickly regrowth can happen (infection report) and then like quick sand they learn more about Eveline and what else she can do
Yeah, I remember the ending of the Daughters DLC and in a way it's so freaking creepy because Mia is just lying there unconscious and you know there's nothing you can do to stop the massacres that will keep happening there over the next three years. It's a great, albeit terrifying, way of connecting it to the main story and letting us know how things went down. Personally I don't mind it's a DLC, RE7 was very heavy lore-wise considering they were introducing an entirely new protagonist and they had to immerse us in the new world and story and infection and all that... so some things are going to be omitted, and luckily they could add it through DLCs. RE7 definitely got a lot of those, lol.
I think the sales pitch for Eveline (yikes I hate that sentence) was that she could infect others and control them. Their justification is that she could "stop wars" or whatever by infecting the one side and making them stop their attacks. I mean we all know that's bullshit cause you don't go doing human experimentation in the name of "peace", but that's what they went with to justify their crimes against humanity. I don't remember enough of the lore, but I kinda think they didn't know about Eveline's (and the mold's in general) regenerative abilities at first. Or at least that wasn't what they were aiming for with their experiments; such a thing would actually be detrimental to their experiment, cause 1) fast regeneration also meant faster aging, which meant their time with Eveline was limited, and 2) should they need to stop her, her regeneration would make that extra harder because they'd just shoot at her and she'd immediately heal. Though I might be completely wrong with that cause I don't remember all the files from re7, lmao. Just a guess with that one.
But yeah say Mia went in thinking that she'd help those dudes find a means to stop wars from happening, of course one would want that. And you can't come shaking your finger at me about how "That's unfounded!!11!1" cause all opinions on her are unfounded, buddy. That's the problem when a character is underdeveloped, which is the main problem with Mia as a character. It's not that she's evil or that she's a bad wife/mother - it's that we don't have enough from her POV and backstory to make a complete analysis. Anyway yeah, when you get involved with criminal organizations, you enter because you genuinely want to help (and not me using real-life issues here, but literally ask any N*zi and they'll tell you they're doing what they're doing to protect someone - in their case, the white race. Yeah their arguments can be shot down immediately with logic and historical and science facts but it doesn't change the fact that they see themselves as the hero of their story. It's the same with literally everyone. No-one willingly becomes a villain, literally no-one). And you slowly get deeper and deeper and by the time you realize you should better get out, you cannot get out because you know too much, are too involved so if you leave you'll be hunted for your life, for your entire life.

The retcon about Ethan Winters' condition
(Warning: long post and spoilers)
Tumblr media
This screen belongs to that shocking and somewhat hilarious moment in Resident Evil 7 when Zoe staples Ethan's hand back. As you can see, she is telling to an half unconscious Ethan to not die.
According to Eveline, and RE8 plot, Ethan was already dead right after the first Mia boss battle, when Jack stomps on your head and welcomes you to the family. Then Zoe asks you not to die. Ironic, right?
Fans have been trying to connect the dots by justifying the new direction claiming that Ethan wasn't given any sort of cure after the first game.
I don't think that's the case since both him and Mia needed a cure: he confirms by reading several files by the end of the game that he is in earlier/mid stages of infection (miraculous healing, hallucinations). Mia herself is infected again in the ship, however Eveline's influence is not as strong as before and she can save Ethan without triggering a new boss battle. One could safely assume they both got cured off screen. There's no need to show that.
Or maybe they didn't need to since the Queen B of the hivemind was dead so they were free from her influence, and they could enjoy their new regeneration pack. But that puts Mia on the same boat as Ethan.
Tumblr media
(Lack of sleep obviously)
Another popular claim is that Ethan is now a mold man mimicking a human and tricking himself into being him. Now, we know Eveline really likes to be a pain in that place, and as a kiddo would do, she'd probably hyperbolize the truth, especially to a guy she particularly despises, like Ethan, by telling him he is nothing but mold to let him down. And to add insult to injury, why would his fellow molded attack him? Shouldn't he be their homie now?
Tumblr media
Most likely the mold kept Ethan's vital functions intact and possibly some kind of molecular recombination (passed to his daughter) but it was still Ethan, not some kind of psychological zombie. Ok I'll just shut up before I give them more ideas.
Because dead people can't have children. In theory.
Lucas: another 100% human that could reattach his limbs just like Ethan. But he turned out to be a psycho without weird hallucinogenic mushrooms. Several theories circulated about him being a little different than mom and dad, which included tactically avoiding eating the disgusting food.
Tumblr media
(Conveniently throwing the food at Ethan)
Mia's condition though, caused more controversies than Ethan, during RE7. The fact that she looked almost as gone as the two senior Bakers yet the serum doesn't calcify her but Zoe.
Yet, they never gave her any space to focus on her condition post 7. Except that she was experimented on, but seemed to be perfectly fine. Why would Miranda experiment on her if she was completely mold free.
So, no, it's not like "hey now everything from 7 makes sense" like many claim because it doesn't. But this is not to say retcon is bad. That's not the aim of this rant. I think RE8 was a strong title even though the ending was pretty sad. It's just to notice how you can take several ambiguous moments to create a new direction. And that's what capcom did. But it was unlikely their intention from the beginning.
There are several moments in 8 that might sort the same effect on future games, especially when it comes to the luckiest man on the face of the earth Ethan. He might not be entirely gone (another word they really like to use instead of dead), because what does death even mean for him at this point? Several, in appearance innocuous, stylistic choices in dialogues, are what capcom will use to leave certain doors open for the future. In retrospect, the stapled hand was most likely an artistic choice of impact, for body horror value, but it could be turned into "he lost the hand before he died so he needed staples" when beforehand it was "he was in a very mild stage of infection that he probably needed some physical support to reattach it".
Tumblr media
(100% canon game files that have the purpose to explain why he can reattach limbs)
This series is in continuous evolution that you never know what to expect, especially with the new characters. Like Zoe turning into a crystal fairy, because yes.
Tumblr media
(I wonder for how much money you can sell this to the Duke)
The father's story came to a close but Ethan's (or whatever he is now) is really over? I wouldn't be so sure. He just can't return to his old world after all.

Did you see ETHAN WINTERS from RESIDENT EVIL walking around Limbo? The CISMALE looks like THEO JAMES, and is THIRTY-SIX years old. I’ve heard he can be DETERMINED & CALM but also SARCASTIC & MYSTERIOUS. When I think of them I think of LOSING A HAND & GETTING IT STAPLED BACK ON, BLOODSTAINED WHITE SHIRTS, AND THE DULVEY INCIDENT. They’ve been here WITH their memories as a SYSTEM ENGINEER at VAKARIAN TECH for TWO YEARS. I heard they’re still trying to figure out how they ended up in Limbo.
now ethan here is believed to just be a normal white collar dude, however, imo it’s extremely likely he’s the ethan w mentioned in a file in re5 ?? i think it was.
he was a skilled umbrella chemist, who was supposedly murdered by albert wesker. sooo i’m thinking ethan either faked his death or unknowingly escaped that fate. i don’t think a general civilian is gonna have a heavy knowledge of chemistry like he does, or heal like he did, or handle a gun so well but y’know.
anyway, back on track.
one of the few survivors of the dulvey incident back in july/august 2017.
believed he lost his wife mia in a hurricane in 2014, but in july of 2017 he received an email from her asking him to come and get her at the baker ranch in dulvey, louisiana.
long story short, she & the baker family were infected by a bio-weapon that controlled them & made them pretty much crazy, gave them superhuman abilities, etc etc.
technically had to kill his wife in self-defense shortly after being reunited with her, when she came at him with a knife & stabbed him through the freakin hand. but she healed after a bit & came at him again with a screwdriver which yep she also stabbed him with or pinned him to a wall with whatever. and tHEN she chopped off his left hand ( the same hand ) with a chainsaw. it was fine tho, zoe ( the only not yet crazy baker ) stapled it back on for him & he was good to go.
he managed to beat the bakers after lots more trauma & create an antidote but only had one to give to either zoe or mia. he chose mia bc she was still his wife & he loves her, even tho she cut off his hand…
killed the bio-weapon with the help of chris redfield.
following that he tried to have a normal life but he & mia were deemed to be at risk ( they were both likely still infected on some level ) and kept isolated in bsaa safe-houses.
they had a little girl at some point, tho the idea of children freak him tf out for obvs reasons. she was likely an accident lbr.
the last thing he really remembers before waking up here is chris turning on them, shooting ( killing ?? ) mia, & stealing their mold baby.
probably had multiple surgeries on his hand since all that. it bothers him sometimes but it’s mostly good, other than an awful scar.
really doesn’t like bugs but has like superhuman pain tolerance & doesn’t startle easily/is good at compressing his emotions bc damn the things he saw & went through.
he’d just like a quiet, peaceful life for like 5 mins, ok, is that so much to ask for ??
i’ll likely update him as more info comes out/once village comes out.

So lets actually talk about a scene from Resident Evil 7 End of Zoe DLC
Okay so about halfway through the End of Zoe DLC for RE7, you as Joe “what r yew doin in mah swamp?!” Baker physically rip the head off of Swamp Thing aka Jack “local man literally too gross to die” Baker:
Tumblr media
And proceed to Magic Johnson from downtown 3 pointer buzzer beater throw that septic noggin right into the bayou:
Tumblr media
However, in classic RE fashion, Jack miraculously materializes from the Louisiana sauna mere moments later with his head square on his shoulders ready to snatch crystal mycelium waifu Zoe Baker away:
Tumblr media
NOW I AM WELL AWARE, that the last thing you should do is overanalyze a Resident Evil game of all things, but I cannot get it out of my mind the logical series of events necessary for this to occur. Because there is only one of four possibilities, each equally absurd, which I will now detail below.
Scenario 1: Jack’s body simply regrows the head and regains consciousness, lore files near the end of the DLC detail Jack’s unprecedented regenerative abilities, the kinda damage soaking toughness that even James Howlett or Wade Wilson would envy. It stands to reason the primary concentration of his body mass, the most number of E-type infected cells wildly mutating to heal trauma, could rapidly fashion a brand new dome piece for the Baker patriarch. We already have evidence of Jack regenerating large chunks of his head and brain, seen plainly after he gives himself a lead roof job to illustrate just such a point:
Tumblr media
Scenario 2: Basically the same situation as scenario 1 except in reverse, Jack’s severed head regenerates an entire fully fledged body. This theory is a tad shakier as even with highly generous estimations as to how fast Jack’s cells can divide and reform his vessel of chunk, it’s dubious that his floating melon could whip up a completely new slab of thiccness limbs and all within such a small timeframe.
Scenario 3: Jack’s headless body reanimates after Joe leaves the boat, stumbles into the water and reattaches the head. Evidence for this possibility consists of the fact we know Jack’s body can ambulate independent of the cranium command center, as famously evidenced in his and Ethan’s chainsaw duel:
Tumblr media
Scenario 4: Last, but certainly not least, we have my personal favorite theory, Jack’s head grows emergency appendages and scurries back to the body to reattach itself. This theory, by far the most ridiculous, is one I can support with no real in game evidence. All I can do is leave you with this gif from the crowning achievement of the cinematic medium, John Carpenters The Thing, and beseech you to search your feelings for what you know to be true:

All of the Plot Holes in RE7
Why do the Sewer Gators trek into an abandoned, creepy house despite knowing full well creatures like Zombies and so on exist in their universe?
Why does Eveline let the Bakers/Mia try and kill Ethan despite luring him here for the purpose of converting him? (Lucas has an excuse why he doesn’t listen to Evie, but what’s the others excuse??)
How did Joe not know anything about what was going on with the rest of his family for 3 years when he lives only a few yards away?
Why does Ethan display the symptoms of late stage infection when he’s only been exposed for a few hours at most?
Why does the infection symptoms for the Mold change and flip flop between the files, the story being presented, and the DLC?
Why doesn’t Ethan call the police/authorities on getting a message from his dead wife to drive to this bumfuck nowhere location?
Why doesn’t Zoe, Mia, Ethan, or any of the victims simply call for help via their phones and internet devices? (the bad ending shows Ethan still has his phone and had it on him the whole time and Zoe/Mia has had access to landline phones and the internet for 3 years. If motherfucking Lucas can get cell reception and wi-fi in a fucking cave mine, than I’m sure the others could have simply called for help)
Why isn’t Joe infected after manhandling Molded for ages by this point?
Why and how does Zoe survive calcification and turn into a crystal creature from FF13?
What was the point of making a serum to begin with if it doesn’t actually work on either Zoe or Mia? What the fuck was even the point of the choice mechanic if next to nothing changes in the story??
Why is Eveline such a stupid villain?
How and why is there some weird Cloud backup of consciousness between infectees? Like, what the fuck? That’s completely out of genre and unfitting for RE and makes no sense with what’s been established in-universe how minds and death works.
How does being infected with a fungus give you the ability to produce insects out of your body? And not even freaky, mutated insects, just garden variety insects.
Why and how is Zoe immune to the thralling powers of Eveline?
How the fuck did anyone in this universe allow another Umbrella to exist and why the fuck is the BSAA ok with it?
Why is Chris Redfield even allowing this to exist when he has spent nearly his whole life fighting against everything Umbrella has done or created?
Why the BSAA in this game instead of bringing back Umbrella’s long dead corpse?
Why is the title called “Not A Hero” when nothing that Chris does in the DLC is unheroic?
If the members Chris is with are supposed to be BSAA members, than why the fuck are they dressed up and addressed as BU mooks?
Why is there some random vaccine synthesizer in a derelict rowboat? Why isn’t it at their actual base?
How did anyone mange to build a 50 foot wall/gate around the Baker property in the span of 2 to 3 weeks? Much less without Joe or anyone noticing?
Why is there no mention of Joe’s existence at all among the Bakers or their things in their house until EoZ when he lives only a few yards away?
Why the fuck is the Baker Estate built like a puzzle house? And no, having some small, po dunk, carpentry store named Trevor does not explain it. George Trevor has been dead for over 30 years by now, it makes no sense for that small store to have anything to do with him other than just being a easter egg. And even if it was, that doesn’t explain why anyone would build shadow puzzle passageways and shit in what’s supposed to be a regular family household.
How did the Connections build an entire laboratory underground without anyone noticing or finding out?
Why is Eveline so Stupid?
Why does Ethan act so nonchalant throughout the game and throw in remarks that would even make Leon cringe when he’s supposed to be the “everyman” civilian guy?
How does Jack just pop out of nowhere to kill the cop when we never see him enter or hide anywhere?
Why would Lucas keep the video recording of Clancy’s death and let Ethan watch it, allowing him to know how to solve the puzzle without dying?
How does Eveline have these weird psychic power abilities even going beyond the “hallucinations” excuse? Several of the things she does in the game make no sense other than her having psychic powers, which goes against what the games have been shown with scientific explanations for their creatures’ abilities. I:e her teleporting before Mia even gets infected and somehow being able to screw with Mia’s wrist tracking device.
What the hell even gave Zoe the idea that stapling Ethan’s arm on was a good idea?
Why is Eveline so stupid??!
How is Mia even capable of being “cured” to begin with when she’s been infected longer than any of the Bakers? If Marguerite and Jack are considered to be too infected and have already reached the point of no return with stage 3 than Mia should be well past that point but isn’t somehow.
How does Jack manage to survive calcification when that’s supposed to be the final “true” death of an infected?
Why is the showing of Mia getting infected vastly different than how the others get infected?
How was Eveline able to instantly kill that ship worker through the mold if we didn’t even see him get infected and even if he was he’d only be in the early stages of it and thus not consumed enough to kill him? Same thing with Droney.
The Sewer Gators are described as having gone missing on July 9th in the newspaper article, yet in the timestamp for the video they are killed/gone missing on June 1st to June 2nd.
How do the video tapes even work in-universe? Like where did Mia even get a camera to even record said tape on? Are we seriously supposed to believe that the Bakers were just kind enough to let her keep said tape, label it, and then leave it in that room with tv? And how the fuck does the whole memory of Mia on the ship match with it being on a tape??!
Daughters suggests that infection/craziness of the Bakers takes place at night, despite no mentions of this ever being in the files or main game?
Lucas has no idea how Eveline is supposed to work as a bioweapon despite having access to files right where this report he’s saying this is.
The serum has two articles contradicting what is used to make it, one says it needs to D series head and arm while the other needs Eveline’s body tissues.
How does Zoe even know what to do to make the serum? She only was able to  to find out it needed the D series arm and a head.
Why would Chris drop the important Albert-01 gun that’s capable of killing Eveline to an obviously injured civilian to do it for him when he’s a trained soldier who has fought giant creatures like this for 20 years? Plus he has the high ground advantage. That’s out of character as Chris would never put someone in danger when he could easily handle the situation himself.
Reblog with more that you find if you want.

this is actually supported by canon sources! for jack, marguerite, and lucas, a lot of their regenerative powers/mutations come from ingesting the mold, or at least mold-infected food and organs. zoe has her own refrigerator, and for the most part, appears to avoid eating contaminated food. the end credits of re7 display a newspaper that goes more into this, so there IS a distinct difference between the majority of the baker family and ethan!
likewise, in-game files explain that "the infected gains remarkable regenerative abilities" and that during experiments, researchers "removed arms and legs from test subjects and found they were able to coapt the amputated limbs in a matter of minutes" — coapt is just a a fancy way to say that they were able to reattach limbs and secure them properly, not regenerate new ones in their place. this would, by extension, explain why ethan cannot regenerate a new heart, but would theoretically be able to replace it after having it removed and be perfectly fine
the first aid meds from both games lend to this line of thinking, in that they cause "spontaneous cellular regeneration" and close wounds, act as a clotting agent, and restore function to damaged bodily systems. this, combined with the natural regenerative properties of the mold, causes extremely quick healing as seen with ethan and the baker family!
this also leads into eveline “stretching the truth” when it comes to the reality of ethan’s situation. she is just a little girl, and more than that, an experiment herself — her understanding of the mold is probably limited to what she can do, and she likely has no idea what the scientific explanation behind her powers is. all she knows is that she can control minds, vomit mold to create new “friends”, revive the recently deceased, and reattach limbs. given the files from re7, the mold does all of these things by “ingesting nutrients from the subject’s body to propagate itself, and slowly takes over cells within the body”. so, on the one hand, it may not have replaced all of ethan’s organs with mold (in the sense that he looked like a molded inside), but on the other hand, it did infect all of his cells one by one on a molecular level, meaning that he was, essentially, made up entirely of mold (in the sense that the infection had spread to every part of his body)
i’m firmly of the belief that ethan could have survived if his heart had been immediately replaced and covered in first aid med, but otherwise i do completely agree with you. there was only so much ethan’s body could take — having his heart ripped clean out is such an overwhelming injury that even jack or marguerite would struggle to come back from it in on piece. jack, for example, had his entire upper torso removed, and he regenerated... albeit severely mutated. given that ethan never ingested the mold, he wouldn’t be able to mutate, effectively being the thing that killed him in the end
Tumblr media
personally i think people are reading ethan's healing abilities as "regenerative" too much. i don't think anywhere in the games has he grown anything back. and the only times we've seen the mold do that was for jack baker back in 7. and who knows if that was actually an ability of his or eveline doing it for him.
i think he just has very intense healing capabilities. cuts, stabs, burns and those likes are easy enough for the skin to quickly heal from (especially when given the right kind of medical formula). but he has to re-attach missing parts himself.
i also think eveline was stretching the truth a bit when she said he is completely made of mold or something along those lines. eveline is a little shit who we know lies. like yeah ethan died for sure and the mold revived him, just as much as it did with the bakers. but that doesn't mean it completely replaced all his organs, it probably just strengthened them.
so yeah when his heart gets ripped out it makes sense to me that he couldn't regrow it. when he defeated mother miranda he had already gone through the wringer with four other super powered baddies, and don't forget all those mini bosses. its a LOT more than in re7. we know that molded and their likes can only come back to life/recover after so many shots/stabs BECAUSE ethan is able to take out and kill so many of them. so same rules to ethan, he can only take so much damage before his mold healing abilities just won't cut it anymore

frend! I have found things! namely old things that prolly everyone already knew in 2017 about RE7 (but I wasn't all that much into fandom even if I've played most RE games) that knda aren't in the wiki. Remember I mentioned the RE7 Japanese guidebook? I found some pages! and a partial translation of other things inside of it! pinned them in my pntrst here: pinterest. c o m / TimTamsAndJimJams / re7 and some translations here (there are some things that kinda read like they put it on a translator and left it as is, but idc, the starting convo is Jack talking to Ethan when he wakes up tied to the chair and it's delightfully creepy imho): residentevilpodcast. c o m /wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Biohazard-7-Lore-File-VERSION2. pdf *I suggest reading up to page 22, everything after that are articles about weaponry - also have in mind that this guidebook "was published prior to the DLC releases of Not A Hero and End of Zoe, therefore all supplemental material references to ‘Mysterious Organisation’ are meant to represent ‘The Connections’" and it also predates the Baker Incident Report that adds even more stuff like their move to Romania was almost immediately after Dulvey *there's also quite a bit of the last files about the stages on infection that reads far easier on the game files themselves that you can find in the labs of the salt mines (or the transcript on the wiki) *Page 19 has a nice timeline Ethan Winters Age: 33 years old - Height: 180cm - Weight: 75kg A system engineer living in Los Angeles. Three years ago, he lost his wife Mia in a maritime accident, and has had a hard time recovering from the heartbreak. He suddenly receives an email from his wife begging him to pick her up, and though he has his doubts, he heads to Dulvey, Louisiana. He has lived a very ordinary life, and has never been involved in sports, but he is blessed with above ordinary physical strength. As he gets involved in a mysterious incident, he also shows his ability to adapt. (so, man's never done sports in his life but has innate endurance and adaptability to handle Dulvey (I find this adorable+cool)) (it me, laa! - can you tell I love Ethan? i mean this game? ... it's been 8 months most of my obsessions don't last more than a month or two... Ethan ;_; ♥ Rose ;_; ♥)
Frend! Hi! And thank you so much for sharing! I had a blast reading through the first pages! The other pages were RE weapon lore so I skipped them XD
The beginning monologue is phenomenal. I especially like this part:
"I have a daughter in addition to Lucas here, but hey, I don’t care how many more children I have. And it’s up to you whether you are accepted or not. You don’t have to shake so much. Even if you are not, you can still be useful, right?"
"You don't have to shake so much" asdgsafadjfoi OMG. Like honestly even though I don't like re7 as much as I like re8, the creepy dinner scene with the Bakers is ICONIC. And reading that stuff, seeing this moment from Jack's point of view, is amazing!
But also, I like the few "new" details we got regarding Mia:
She worked for a trading company, often leaving home for long periods of time whilst travelling abroad, so her relationship with Ethan became strained.
So Eveline's case wasn't the first time Mia was leaving for work. And it makes sense that her relationship with Ethan would become strained, if she had to leave him back. It's probably why she felt she could afford keeping her job a secret from Ethan. She had made a big distinction between the two. When she's at home, she's herself, being with Ethan. When she's away, she's working for a shady company which probably isn't using the most ethical ways in their job. I don't know if I'm explaining it right, but it would make sense, if her job needed her to travel abroad for long periods of time, that she would separate it from her life with Ethan - and that she'd think there would be no reason to drag him in all of it.
Yet! That did affect Ethan, as much as Mia seemed to try to avoid that (by keeping him out of it, trying to warn him to stay away, etc). He had suspected something was up before Mia left for the last time ("You were right. I did lie to you.") and as the text you shared with me says, he had a hard time recovering from the heartbreak of losing Mia. Even he himself says so at the end of re7, that he had just come to terms with losing her, three whole years after her initial disappearance. Our boi is very attached ;_;
Her coming and going was affecting him - and their relationship - he couldn't get over his heartbreak when she disappeared... and he ran to get her back, when the opportunity rose. He wanted her back in his life so much. Is it any wonder that by the end of re7, he's ready to start anew with Mia, even though he knows she was somehow involved in the nightmare he just went through? He really didn't care. The canon ending has him choosing Mia over Zoe (without whose help he would've never managed to do much in the game, and yet he unapologetically chooses Mia - if you choose Zoe, he tries to explain himself to Mia and offers to send help, but if you choose Mia, he only says the part about sending help) and he sees her come back to save him from Eveline's mold, so he knows she cares for him enough to risk her life trying to save him. And he accepts her back. When Ethan Winters says wife before life he fucking means it. We call him Just a Dude left and right but honestly, we wish the average dude was just as loving and willing to understand, forgive and move on as Ethan is.
And oh, is Ethan your first obsession? My previous obsession lasted about five years - in a way I'm still into it, just not as much because Ethan Winters has taken over my life now - so considering lots of my love for Ethan bleeds through to Rose, I'm super ready to invest myself in any future games that include her for years to come. He's definitely a dude worth loving... I just love characters who love so much, you know? There's something so warm and cozy about them, I don't personally need them to be badass or whatever (not that I don't appreciate them being that, but you know), but I can't help loving a character who knows how to love. Love (of any kind) is such an important part of life, and I get so many warm feelings when that becomes such a central part of a character. It makes them feel human, and real, and someone you feel you could trust and walk along with. Emotions, dude. I love feeling them <3

resident evil 7 spoilers for those that are interested.
as many of you know, re7 as leaked yesterday. here’s what we know so far.
there are two endings: an ending where mia lives or an ending where she doesn’t. this seems to be influenced by whether or not you choose mia or zoe to go to the boat (more on that later).
eveline, aka the grandmother, is the big bad. she has two forms: her normal form and a child form, the latter of which she parades around in game.
jack baker found her in the bayou. she infected him and his family because she “wanted a family”. as far as i can tell, she’s some sort of bio-weapon.
the infection is spread through spores. this means that ethan is infected.
she is able to influence/persuade the bakers/those who are infected against their will to get them to do what she wants, as explained by jack baker.
throughout the game, ethan is in contact with the bsaa either through phone or through radio (as in he can hear their radio frequencies). it is implied that neo-umbrella intercepts these interactions.
at the end of the game, neo-umbrella shows up. a blond man lowers from the helicopter and he informs ethan that he’s “redfield”, presumably to gain ethan’s trust. we assume that because ethan is still infected, they are actually heading towards a testing facility.
there are many references to the mansion incident throughout the game through files and examining the surroundings.
there are not many enemy types. there’s the regular molded, a molded with a big arm, a fat molded, a crawling/licker type molded, and insects, not including bosses.
the game can be completed within under 3 hours, much like past titles.
i’ll update once there’s more information.

Six reasons on why the Mold makes no sense
1. How did Zoe survive calcification? They wrote up an explanation (a hamfisted one that I'm sure was just made to handwave Jack being back as another boss, but that's besides the point) for Jack, saying he's just unique, but how and why did Zoe survive? Especially since she explicitly dies through the same manner in the Zoe choice ending process. Hell, how was she never corrupted by Eveline in the first place despite also being infected? Why did she become a crystal person?
2. Why and how was Joe never infected despite living in the same swamp for years during the outbreak? As well as touching up and all over Molded and never experiencing any symptoms.
3. How is Marguerite able to produce regular insects from her body? Controlling them I can understand, possibly through pheromones (but the game never specifies or states that method, but whatever), how does being infected by a fungus cause you to produce random insects out of your body? With T-Veronica, it makes sense given how it's expressly stated and clear it was made with ant genes and things infected by it show a consistent theme with it. With Marguerite it's just "Surprise! centipedes coming out of her throat and bees out of her hoohah from nowhere". And while it's a neat little theory that the Mold has T-Veronica in it, it's just that. A theory, not confirmed or supported by anything in the game or story.
4. The consciousnesses of the infected somehow being "backed up" in some form of Cloud and being able to go to it even upon death in the Mold makes no fucking sense.
5. How did Mia become infected again so quickly after being given the serum? She may as well not have not even taken the serum since she still is experiencing hallucinations and still has her possessed look from before. How did the serum not kill Mia upon injection since she's been infected even longer than the Bakers? All of her cells should be infected by that point, even with Eveline controlling the Mold, it's been three years! On that note, how was Zoe able to be calcified and killed if she was given the serum as well in her choice cutscene? Seriously, what was even the point of gathering the serum in the first place if it doesn't even do anything?
6. Why is there contradictions on how infection progresses in both the files and story itself? This is the biggest issue with the Mold and one of the biggest issues of 7's story. In the main game the files detail, repeatedly, that the process is gradual and the stages take time over the course of days.
This is said in the files you find in the labs.
This is also supported and shown in Marguerite's diary in the Old House and in the doctor's note in Grandma's Room.
Yet in Daughters, where the events in it are supposed to be canonical, Jack and Marguerite (plus presumably Lucas) immediately jump to Stage 2 of infection upon the first night they encounter Eveline, within minutes! On that logic, Ethan, Mia, Clancy, and even Alan Droney should have all become thralls upon being infected by the Mold.
This guy talks in depth about point 6's issues and his video is what brought it to my attention.

This is what happened to Ethan, fair and square. Nothing says that test subjects are dead before being injected with the “bacterium” (which is a wrong translation since we are talking about fungis). In the rest of the files it explains hallucinations and mind control start in mid stage, total transformation and calcification is the last one. This doesn’t even contradict his death in 8.
Regenerative Abilities after serum administration/E-series destruction
At the end of RE7, everyone was basically agreeing that both Ethan and Mia were going to keep their mold regenerative abilities. Lucas Baker, another character infected with the mutamycete, starts cooperating with The Connections who provide him with a serum, that frees him from Eveline’s control, although he keeps his regenerative abilities, as seen in the dinner scene.
We assume injecting the E-necrotoxin into the E-series will cut all her ties to the people she infected. But it doesn’t necessarily kill them as well. Jack Baker survived both his calcification and Eveline’s death (although this creates certain plot holes).
Zoe Baker
She is the most similar infected person to Ethan. Except it’s been 3 years, not one night. She is the one telling him where to get the ingredients for the serum, and the only one who is free from Eveline’s control. I doubt Eveline would keep her that way if she had any chance. We didn’t see her being injured but most likely she has regenerative abilities as well.
Ethan’s tests, BSAA and Chris Redfield
This is for sure the weakest part of the plot. Unless they explain Chris’ role in BSAA and Blue Umbrella (apparently the “good” umbrella). He doesn’t seem to be that much collaborative with BSAA yet he was the one in charge with the Winters’ relocation in Romania. We certainly know though, that BSAA has traitors who leaked Rose’s information to The Connections/Miranda. They are also creating BOW soldiers now. This alone confirms that they knew Ethan’s condition, but probably faked results, maybe on Mia’s request (unaware there was a spy).
Ethan’s “will of power” as the reason why he didn’t become a molded
Now, I won’t stop saying how much I reject the molded Ethan with a copy of his memories. The philosophical zombie is such a complex concept to be literally introduced for 15 minutes and then let it die. In my book he was infected from the moment he touched Mia’s driving licence, or when he swam in the basement. And it’s not like the other victims in the Baker estate didn’t have sheer will to save their loved ones (Trevis and his girlfried Courtney for example) that would make Ethan a special case of “power of love”. Did Ethan die when he entered the Baker house though? Yes, because his life changed forever after that event.
The issue of translation from Japanese
Now listening to someone who actually had the decency to check the original japanese version, as it often happens with anime, a lot of stuff gets lost in translation. In RE certain things are explained so badly to make it seem like it’s a fantasy more than sci-fi. There are certain terms that get completely bypassed byt the official english translation when they would actually explain how these fungis work better.
well... Mia was injected with the antidote and so that probably did something
I apologize if I misunderstand but is this re Mias pregnancy? I suppose that could be the answer. But wouldn’t it in a way counter balance the mold? Or am I totally misunderstanding this ask? Or is this how Rose survives?
I’m still very much feel like there has to be more of this stuff out there. Or they’re successfully growing it elsewhere? I dunno. It makes my brain hurt. Maybe Rose is partially human enough to survive? Or she is just sentient? I still don’t understand how Mia could be pregnant. I’m gonna avoid to many details to stay sfw but this whole process has me....curious to say the least.
Again apologies if I totally misunderstood
