Just when he thought this party would be normal-- even a nice opportunity to see his own sister again without going to Kyoto (and how on earth did Honoka get her out of the house at all?) Hikaru pauses mid-conversation with her.

His vision faded out to a white abyss. What could have caused this!? When he didn’t immediately feel his body give out, Hikaru instinctively reaches for Kiku, who he could hear moving beside him. Somehow, he can tell exactly where the cold hands of his partner are, and grips tightly. He can’t go anywhere without someone to guide him around now.

“My vision is gone... is anyone else feeling strange or losing their senses? Have I eaten something bad...?”

Likewise, he’s not doing much better. Kiku’s thoughts are filled with chaos like a wave hitting the shore, the visions of things to come this weekend playing all at once in a cacophony that he’s unable to pull himself out of until Hikaru grabs his hand.

“I know. You’ll be fine.” How did he know? He could see the end of the story playing out when he really took a moment to concentrate on it. Whether Hikaru could believe him after all the times he lied in the past? 

Well, actually...

Hikaru puts way too much trust in me.

“I trust you because we are married. Things are different than they were then.”
