Selena does not feel late, but in technicality: she is, isn’t she?

The festivities had already begun by the time she arrived, but that had been expected—after all, for an event so anticipated, why should one wait even a moment longer than necessary before indulging in the music of the night?

Selena feels what should be an uncharacteristic degree of nerves, but all the same: she meets the attendant at the door and receives her brooch.

And so, she feels, the night truly begins.

Two layers, though the verdant green obscures most of what is underneath. Heels are less sharp than what she normally wears—it is less likely to tear the hem of a dress or harm someone’s feet if she is not as aware as she should be.

Gloves as well, though they are simple, as is the aim of her outfit. Star-shaped earrings as opposed to her usual gemstones. Hair is tied into a bun, and there hang two braids she did herself. She hopes they look nice, though she doesn’t often braid her own hair.
