Just because someone snapped his fingers doesn't mean that the wish is actually fulfilled, and if it's not as much as he needs, he'll use the next wish on doubling whatever is there. And if the other's lying to him and just playing an elaborate trick, well then, the joke's on Hilo for thinking this was true in the first place-- but he can't help but believe in it, if only because he needs it to be true.
