     Escaping prison is one thing. Staying hidden is another thing altogether, especially while trying to get her name cleared. She has fake identities, and once out of the country it’s easier, but she’s always on alert, teetering on the edge at all times. Walking alone at night in a country she’s never been in is only increasing that anxiety she refuses to believe she has. It’s of no surprise that when she hears somebody behind her, she is quick to turn and hit them right on the side of the neck. It’s seconds later that she realizes they meant no harm and had just been walking like she had been. “Oh. Sorry.” Sun cocks her head slightly. “You...took me off guard.”

              hours  of  going  ‘round  and  ‘round  in  circles,  her  interrogators  attempting  to  catch  her  in  a  lie.  she  truly  believes  they ��want  to  find  something  that  makes  her  guilty,  that  will  make  it  easy  to  throw  her  away  like  the  rest  of  the  project.  gaea  doesn’t  blame  them.  she  deserves  to  rot  in  a  cell.  she  had  been  prepared  to  rot  in  that  house  with  the  corpse  of  her  father,  had  been  ready  to  burn  with  the  rest  of  the  project.  and  then  owen  had  tossed  her  over  his  shoulder,  had  dragged  her  away  and  brought  her  with  him.  and  it  didn’t  really  matter  that  she  hadn’t  held  a  gun  until  she  had  fought  against  eden’s  gate,  doesn’t  matter  she  didn’t  start  shedding  blood  until  she  was  fighting  peggies.  what  matters  is  that,  for  a  time,  she  had  been  silent.  obedient.  hadn’t  done  a  damn  thing  to  stop  what  was  going.  so  gaea  will  be  honest.  she  will  give  them  every  gritty  detail.  but  then  she  thinks  she’ll  hold  out  her  wrists  so  they  can  put  the  cuffs  on  her,  whether  they  find  her  deserving  or  not.

              unable  and  unwilling  to  leave  her  blind  father’s  side  when  he  suddenly  decides  he  wants  to  move  to  montana,  gaea  finds  herself  in  the  lovely  hope  county  and  the  new  owner  of  a  lovely  cottage.  though  not  religiously  inclined,  her  desire  to  make  friends  and  be  a  part  of  something  has  her  becoming  a  part  of  pastor  jerome  jeffries’  congregation.  and  when  numerous  of  them  decide  to  join  eden’s gate,  she  goes  with  them.  she  always  has  an  uneasy  feeling  but  she  sticks  to  it,  allowing  herself  to  be  baptized  and  for  her  sin  to  be  permanently  etched  on  her  skin.  and  by  the  time  she’s  let  in  on  the  carnage  that  is  taking  place,  the  intimidation  and  the  murder  and  the  brainwashing,  it’s  too  late.  with  her  land  the  home  of  a  radio  tower  and  jacob’s  more lucky  house  guests  being  brought  to  her  home  to  be  healed,  gaea  does  what  she  can  to  get  them  back  on  her  feet.  it  isn’t  until  owen  grady  that  she  thinks  it’s  possible  for  the  project  to  be  taken  down.  and  it  isn’t  until  he  helps  her  that  she  fights  back.

key  things  in  this  verse:

the  events  of  the  game  taken  place  between  march  27  and  august  28, 2018.  a  year  before  then,  gaea  and  her  blind  father  titan  move  to  fall’s  end  in  hope  county,  montana.  because  of  her  experience  volunteering  at  a  clinic  in  new  york  city,  she  acts  as  a  doctor  at  her  home,  usually  dealing  with  those  coming  from  jacob’s  compound.  her  kind  and  compassionate  nature  help  them  heal  mentally.  it  isn’t  until  owen  grady,  the  one  that  never  broke  and  is  only  brought  back  to  heal  and  then  be  tortured more,  that  things  change  for  her.  after  the  death  of  her  father,  he  convinces  her  ( read:  carries  her  away  )  to  join  up  with  the  resistance.  it  takes  approximately  six  months  to  compromise  the  compounds  and  defeat  the  heralds.

on  august  28th,  2018,  jacob  seed  is  arrested.  during  the  preliminary  hearing,  and  by  special  request,  gaea  gives  her  testimony  and  the  hearing  lasts  for  three  hours.  between  august  28th  and  october  30th,  2018,  gaea  buys  herself  a  cabin  and  two  acres  of  land  in  montana.  she  begins  taking  the  steps  to  make  a  life  for  herself:  tending  her  land,  taking  online  classes  for  writing  and  opening  up  a  booth  at  the  local  farmer’s  market.  on  november  7th,  2018,  she  is  hospitalized  for  a  week  because  of  the  side  effects  of  milk  sickness,  received  from  cows  that  have  ingested  white  snakeroot.  

from  june  3rd,  2019  and  onward,  gaea  lysimachia  and  owen  grady  enter  into  a  relationship.  during  april  2020,  gaea  finds  out  that  there  is  a  hacker  erecting  a  new  eden’s  gate  and  acting  under  the  will  of  father  jacob  seed  and  god.  the  only  reason  that  gaea  is  informed  of  what  is  going  on  is  because  her  address  is  found  in  a  decoded  message  between  the  hacker  and  his  followers.

ship:   owen  grady  ( @chaordiic )  is  her  pillar,  her  confidante  and  the  person  who  believed  in  her  the  most.  he’s  the  one  she  trusts  with  her  body,  heart  and  soul.  as  it  is,  this  is  the  only  ship  that  will  happen  in  this  verse.  new  dawn  is  a  different  animal.

 friends, enemies: pastor  jerome  jeffries  (  @thepastcr  ),  whose  congregation  she  left  in  order  to  follow  the  herd  that  joined  the  project,  a  dear  friend  who  has  found  it  in  his  heart  to  forgive  her.  deputy  deacon  saint  (  @deputysaint  ),  who  is  full  of  so  much  courage  she  can’t  help  but  worry  about  him.  john  seed  ( @sanctemony ),  who  was  the  first  to  approach  her  and  asked  her  to  build  a  radio  tower  on  her  land.  the  father  ( @gqds-gift  ),  who  leads  the  project  toward  salvation.

shoutout:  to  the  amazing  moony,  who  writes  owen,  because  this  write  -  up  would  not  be  nearly  as  thorough  and  cohesive  without  their  hard  work.  we  plotted  together  but  they  put  together  this  incredible  timeline  and  i  just  …  i’m  in  awe  that  i’m  a  part  of  something  so  incredible.  don’t  let  it  fool  you.  while  i  have  many  threads  in  other  verses,  far  cry  will  always  be  my  favorite  and  it  is  definitely  because  of  how  much  we’ve  fleshed  it  out  (  and  again,  the  amazing  work  moony  does,  jesus  fucks  ).

It’s not a sixth sense, nothing so simplistic in nature as pure, unfettered instinct. No -- it’s a trained & conditioned response. The psychological term for this is called THIN-SLICING: processing the minor details, the glimpses and the background noise and seeing the pattern that emerges from it. The familiar face in the crowd; the same model cars that slowly circle the cafe from earlier this week; the broken threads she seals over her doors and windows to check for tampering. The persistent fucking tail that’s as relentless as gum stuck to the bottom of one’s heel.

She recognizes him. He’s different in this lighting, here in some dingy bar, something just crowded enough for him to blend in. Handler’s mistake, she presumes, to pick a man his size. He moves to pass by her in a beeline for the bar, but Quinn sways to the side, slowly blocking his path. She’s tapping at her phone as she does so, but those eyes are trained on him. Quinn’s eyes crinkle as she smiles, as the phone is held loose in her right hand, and her left hand curls over his forearm as she leans in. To his credit, he’s warm to the touch. To her credit: she’s not. Her tone makes up for it; something light and sanguine; sweet and sly all at once.

WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE :   before i was ever on tumblr , i was on what was a forum site of a kind , where i had actually been writing buckycap. when i transitioned over to tumblr , i went through the standard run of first time ocs and a slew of other characters in an attempt to stick with the writers that i’d come over to this site with , but in the hype for ca:tws   (  like , early to mid - april of 2014 , was when my initial blog was made ?  )   , my sibling’s now - girlfriend , with whom we were mutually friends with from that first site at the time , suggested picking bucky barnes back up as a character. i only had the blog for a fairly short amount of time , to be honest , before i ditched it for a thranduil blog , but i came back to bucky in august of that year , & have kept him since. WHAT  ARE  YOUR  FAVORITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :    his durability. which sounds , maybe , a little like a dig , but i mean it.   (  but also it’s a dig.  )   but listen ! i love that bucky barnes works so hard at being good ! the fact that he has been through so much & still consistently works towards being better is important to me ! & tbh , i love that it’s sometimes a struggle for him -- that even though there’s an inherent goodness to his character , sometimes he’s still got to push himself away from that low boiling anger , because listen , it’s really fucking hard to be good , sometimes , especially when you’re pulling yourself up from this history of trauma but he’s fucking ! trying !! WHAT’S  YOUR  BIGGEST  INSPIRATION  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  WRITING :   is it terrible if i say james dean ? y'all don’t realize how much james dean is actually blended into this iteration of jbb. it’s embarrassing. to be honest , outside of my weirdness w/ james dean , i just read a varied amount of shit , and it makes it’s way through , i think. he’s kind of an amalgam of information gained.  i don’t know that i can peg any one thing ??  it’s just if i read a poem or a story or hear a song and it clicks. i think , more than anything , i suppose it would have to be music , just because i’m ?? always listening to something. WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE :   tbh the Concept of what raynne is a who she is has been a longstanding theme in any of my creative shit.   when i was playing d&d back in like .. 2002 or something ray was one of the first things i rolled, a male character at the time, and then just pressed into a slow evolution to what you see here.   tumblr was her first jump to being a full blow norse myth tho.   having the open concept of tumblr rp was what spurred me into making her and full embracing that kinda of setting.

WHAT  ARE  YOUR  FAVOURITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :    her honesty.   not in a hugely beneficial way, but having a character with no filter is real damn good to struggle with.   it presents aggressive challenges with being exact in what she sees and how she process everything.   im not afforded a lot of flexibility ( beyond ooc redaction ) to go back on anything she says later on.  in a realer sense of like, things i physically write, spooky is my jam and having an otherworldly sense to everything ray does always gets my damn goat.  figuring out how to craft an atmosphere without just stating  she’s really scary, like so creepy, like oh boy  has helped me develop a ton !!

WHAT’S  YOUR  BIGGEST  INSPIRATION  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  WRITING :   actually just talking things out with people.   i mean, there’s a wealth of music and visuals, movies i love watching for ray centric inspiration, but there’s a tactile element to having an actual conversation abt my girl, usually in relation to another character, that does more for me than just thinking things thru on my own.   basically, i have all the building blocks of what and who she is, but until i can put them up against someone else, they’re just theory.   when the tires hit the road and blah fuckin blah.

FAVORITE  TYPES  OF  THREADS :   angry shit.  painful shit.  not just emotionally but physically.   rattling raynne is any way is a good fuckin time, tho not what i want to write all the time.  that would be exhausting.   but in between that i really enjoy just . mundane shit.   raynne existing is a huge point of her as a whole, just being something near human no matter the verse, so i love the quiet bits of being real.
