So for context Minthara’s husband of the Underdark and father of her daughter’s Guardian form is Minthara. And I can’t get over how she looks because she would absolutely look at @menzoberras like this normally, so? No wonder he got manipulated so easily.
Including my favorite expression which I see as Minthara listening to her mother chastised her choosing him to marry:

I think something that's a little funny ( & by funny I mean heartbreaking), is that most people will see Shi'ndra freezing when he sees Minthara as something to be chalked down to the fact that she's a female drow. When really, he freezes because she is the mother of his daughter back in Menzoberranzan, and the one person he left the city to find in the first place. That he had given up hope of ever seeing her again thinking she was probably dead and oop, there she is. Commanding a nest of vile little goblins instead.
People think it's intimidation when really, under it all? He's processing two things: Minthara is alive, and that she's very, very clearly not herself.
