The shadows stuck tight to the trees, the leaves several stories above left an ant's foot for the sun to poke out of. Little My's angry strut hindered when she took notice of her surroundings. She kept walking, she didn't like to think the dark bothered her. Her eyes searched the eerie patches below low-hanging branches and behind large boulders. When she stepped on a stick and broke it, she found herself kicking it away with a grunt.

❝I'll be glad if there's monsters this far in ... That'll give me something to fight.❞

With the ground becoming boggy she knew she was a long way from the valley. It felt like she was in another world. Her nose curled as she pulled her boot from a particularly spongey mud puddle. That was when she heard a deep voice, far off between the trees.

She cupped her hands by her cheeks, pushing her whole stance forward.

❝ HELLO? ❞

❝ A robot, ey ? ❞ Little My's eyes sparkled. It was the stuff of fiction, never had she seen anything like a robot — aside from the Snork's occasional odd invention. It must have been what rushed by seconds before she met Kimiko. ( How exciting ! )

As always, she wished for the worst with eagerness. ❝ I hope it goes into town. I'll get us there first — there's a shortcut if we go up the right rocky slope. ❞

A brow arches at the name. Little My? Really? That was extremely weird. But outside of the look that was given Kimiko isn't going to comment on it. After all, it'd be extremely rude after the other had agreed to help her out.

"A little. I was kind of hoping that robot was still around. I kind of need to destroy it. Both because it has something I need, and its associated with a not ideal person." Her features noticeably become more annoyed as she thinks about Jack for a moment or two.

"If I'm lucky, when my phone works again maybe I can track it down before it's too late." Though that might be a bit of a pipe dream.

🎀 Snow White's Poison Bite Favourite songs: Serial Killer Girl, Will You Meet Me In The Graveyard, Valentine's Doom

This band is so good that I actually couldn't believe that they only had 30,000 monthly listeners when I first found them. They're a horror punk band with all of the aesthetics of an emo band but combined with some horror aspects too. It's really sad that they're disbanded because they were a really good and unique band. I think they're a great band to check out if you like Get Scared, Ice Nine Kills, Misfits, or Motionless In White.

🎀 Make Me Famous Favourite songs: Blind Date 101, Inception, It's Now Or Never, Make It Precious

Make Me Famous was a Ukrainian metalcore band that was formed by Denis Stoff, who was also Asking Alexandria's lead singer in 2016. I know a lot of people didn't like them because they thought the band was copying Asking Alexandria, but I really love their music and I hate that Denis's greed made them break up. If you like metalcore, specifically Asking Alexandria, then they're a great band to check out.

🎀 The Birthday Massacre Favourite songs: Looking Glass, Alibis, Happy Birthday, Lovers End, Remember Me

I know they're probably the best known band here, but they're just so good that I had to include them here. I was first drawn to them by their aesthetic and the fact that they're a female fronted band, but then I ended up really liking their music too. They're a great band for if you love the mall goth aesthetic but don't want to listen to something very heavy. I also just really love Chibi as you can probably tell. If you like Evanescence, New Years Day, or The Pretty Reckless, then I'd definitely recommend checking them out. I also just realised that they're the only band in this post that's still together.

🎀 The Black Box Recorder Favourite songs: Child Psychology, Ideal Home, Kidnapping an Heiress

Their song Child Psychology is pretty popular, but I don't think their other songs get as much attention as they should, which really sucks because they're a really good band I love how bleak and depressing their lyrics are and how Sarah's accent bleeds into her singing. If you like Ethel Cain, Fiona Apple, or Lana Del Rey, I'd highly recommend them.

Favourite songs: Dangerous Blues, Cape Town, Nothing Matters But You

I know a lot of people know about TYV because of Panic! at the Disco, but I feel like they don't get enough recognition aside from being 'Ryan Ross's band.' They're lyrics and music and everything are just incredible, as is expected for a band with Ryan Ross, and I wish they were still together because Jon and Ryan are both so talented.

Little My was standing on some small storage boxes, and had looked very much like she had been about to jump. By the awkward positioning of the boxes, that may not have ended well. She flicked her chin up confidently.

❝ I'm always careful. ❞ She reached out, partly climbing the other girl as she was assisted onto her shoulders. ❝ Make sure you hold still for me ! ❞

She stretched her arms up to the window, her fingers just brushing past the pane. My strained with frustration — unacceptable. Unthinkingly she used poor Alicia's head to hoist herself further up, even lifting one of her knees to try and get a boost. Ignorant to how it may effect Alicia's balance (or comfort).

❝ DEFINITLEY not in Moominvalley anymore. ❞

Little My was watching city traffic go by with an expression that resembled seeing a beetle get squashed. It had been a silly mistake— though she wouldn't admit it— to crawl into the Hobgoblins hat. She thought it would do something else, something much less drastic. Something in the control of her wits; something she could show off, or use to play a trick.

Strutting the footpath with her arms swinging confidently by her sides, she reminded herself quickly that a change of environment should be far from alien to her. That she could manage wherever she was, no matter the conditions. As she pondered this a bush of red flowers cought her attention, looking a lot like Moominmama's garden.

Carelessly she went into the stranger's front lawn and picked one, frowning hard down at the petals. Ignoring whoever was there.

The tree behind the bandicoot wouldn’t have mattered much amoungst the other trees, except that something hard knocked into his shoulder. Seconds after, an acorn went flying by, a near miss. Coming right from that tree.

A small figure had her black boots balanced on the branches, most of her obscured by the tree's trunk where she peeked out, cackling.

The orange bandicoot scratches the top of his head and he looks over the green grass that cover the land. Green eyes taking in the scenery for a moment before he places both hands on his hips with a smile

Between the rushing rain, leaves dribbled water into the mud. Moody nights like these could bring out frustrations which sought escape. Escape in the form of a thick stick in the hands of Little My.

She was thoughourly enjoying herself, fighting trees in the middle of the woods. Little My pulled her stick over her shoulder and roared, only to swing and hit something that was not a tree.

A stranger. My stepped back wobblingly, still holding the stick up without thinking. She watched as yellow eyes turned and spotted her.

❝ Whoops, ❞ said without a hint of remorse. She sized the stranger up, frowny eyes above a sopping red dress. ❝ You're drenched. ❞

❝ I'm off to find some ants to eat. ❞

My pulls out both cheeks and crosses her eyes. ❝ BLEEEGHH !! ❞

" oh!-- " a pause, then, a giggle. elizabeth then sticks her tongue out at the other in return, pulling her bottom eyelid down, too, " bl-eeeee-h! " 🎂

My landed after her — onto the rock, then onto the ground, arms out as her boots planted in the dirt. While she was accustomed to bouncing around trees, she wasn't properly trained in anything. Not to mention her smaller legs. Nevertheless, the two were a close draw, and My was satisfied with that.

❝ Little My, ❞ she spoke it proudly, as if the title Little may as well have meant Grand. She set of walking through the trees. Darting her eyes sideways to observe Kimiko. ❝ Something distracting you ? I can tell, you know. ❞

"Thanks." Kimiko nods before jumping down and following after the other. For someone so small they sure were fast, huh? Thankfully, her xiaolin training allowed her to keep up pretty easily. This was more or less a breeze compared to some of things she's had to do in the past.

Eyes do occasionally glance about in the hopes of just maybe spotting that Jack-Bot from before but eventually she gives up. That thing is long gone by now unfortunately.

"You got a name I can call you?" She called out as she swung from one of the tree branches and onto a rock. It would be a little rude if she didn't know it considering she was helping her out. "I go by Kimiko."

He'd beaten her to an apology, which she didn't mind at all. He hadn't seemed angry enough, in her opinion, but the sadness rimming his last few words made her bite down the urge to test him. For a moment.

❝ No need to apologize, ❞ she was almost telling him off, tossing away her apple to put her hands on her hips. ❝ I'm not scared. ❞

Strange, though not new— a creature seen as so scary they'd cop her antics for company. She put a hand to her chin, eyes contemplating.

❝ Can't be all bad being so big, ❞ why not find out for herself ? ❝ Hold still . ❞

Once the thought was there, there was no stopping it. Little My ran up his arm. hands out for balance, she leapt and grabbed his shirt— scaling up him like a spider.

Ingvar's frown faded. His expression became far more defensive.

"If I am being a disappointing monster, then ... then I am being glad, for..." he paused a moment, gathering the right words, "for I am being no monster!"

The tension in the silence that followed could have been cut with only the sharpest of knives. He looked away. He hadn't meant to raise his voice — even though he had barely done so at all — and become so cross.

"I am being sorry for becoming so upset, Miss. It is being true that I am no monster, but... others... little folk, they are... perceiving me as one; such... is also being true."

Her inquiry about him living alone went unanswered. She knew the answer already, from the sound of it.

GPS ? Internally Little My shrugged, her eyes batting below a raised brow. This stranger was strange, but so far, she hadn't met a stranger who wasn't.

❝ Yeah, you better follow me. ❞ Another smuggish grin. She hopped down the branches below, not bothering to hold back in speed. It was easy to tell the other girl was just as capable (probably even more so, not that she would admit it).

Still, My's competitive nature had her tongue. ❝ Try to keep up ! ❞

"For the moment." Kimiko responded. Usually, she was with her group of fellow monks but every now and then solo missions were a thing. It's a shame she was going to have to go back home empty handed like this. Maybe lady luck will throw her a bone and that Jack-Bot was heading to Moominvalley?

"You uh, you think you could show me the way?" Her attention turns towards Little My. "I won't be in your hair for long, promise. It's just my phone doesn't really work out here so no GPS right now."

The giant's frown succeeded in shrinking My's teasing grin. She tilted her head, squinting. He did seem incredibly honest. Had he never tried cake ? Or marzipan ? Or chocolate ? She stood up.

❝ You're a disappointing kind of monster. I thought you'd be all���  ❞ She began to mimick stomping, and had her arms out like a zombie— ❝ I'll grind your bones to flour ! I'll boil you into stew ! ❞

She cackled at herself, taking another bite from the apple and wiping juice from her cheeks. She wasn't as daft as she was noisy, letting herself consider the situation a moment. Pointedly she frowned back up at him. ❝ You live out here by yourself, don't you ? ❞

What was so funny?! Ingvar didn't find it funny at all. He really quite liked deer, for one thing, and would never dream of eating them even if he could. He wanted very much to point out that, as a matter of fact, a deer was much larger than an ant to him; it was truly much more like a big mouse to him. Only, he couldn't. Ingvar had never seen an ant, you see, and so he'd no frame of reference as to their scale relative to humans.

"It is being true that I am only eating plants and fruits," he stated, frowning. Why would he have lied about such a thing? Was she calling him dishonest? Oh, he didn't like that; he didn't like it at all, and yet, he'd not the luxury of picking and choosing such trivial things. He was simply lucky that Little My hadn't run away shrieking the moment they'd meet!

❝ You’re headed towards Moominvalley, ❞ Little My had climbed higher to stand on a branch on the opposing tree, beside Kimiko. She leant one arm against the trunk, other fist on her hip.

❝ A little far from here, though. Past those mountains. A'you by yourself ? ❞

At least it hadn't been recorded so there's that. Her gaze looks upward past the trees in hopes of finding or spotting the Jack-Bot that she had been chasing after.

"Well, I was trying to catch something up to no good but...it's probably far too gone now for me to do that." She didn't like that one bit. With easy strength, she's up in the trees now to get a better vantage point. Nothing.

"Is there a town nearby?" Kimiko would question as she turned her attention back to the other.
