🐰 🧸 💎 For the ask meme!
Sorry for the delay! I was literally distracted by BEEES (add reverb)
🐰 What do you think says the most about a person?
A question hard to answer, because for every person it's different. Objectively I'd say how they handle a stressful situation, but you often don't see that until well into knowing someone if you ever get to see it at all. So: how they treat others. Not just people they know, but the people they don't, the service workers, the person who cuts in front of them whether accidentally or not. (My last ex once sneered at me for thanking a bus driver because "Why would you bother thanking them? It's his job," which honestly was about the point I started shoving metaphorical breadsticks into my bag.) So yeah.
🧸 Favorite place to nap?
Gotta go with straight out bed for this one. |D It's comfy, my mattress is still new enough to be delicious, I have a ceiling fan, and I even have a nice balcony with a great view (when it isn't being obstructed by the aforementioned bees.)
💎 What’s your most prized possession?
Ffff that is. Surprisingly difficult because I have moved so, so many times in life that material possessions really kind of cease to have meaning after a while. I would be sad if I lost anything I have, but at the same time I've been known to shear my personal belongings down by 90% just so I can pick up and move easier. I suppose then it comes down to the things I would never throw. Which comes down to things like my Mirage/Archie TMNT comics that have been part of my life for more than 30 years; my little pewter totem pole that I keep for good luck; the Die Yuppie Scum and Have A Psychotic Day tshirts I used to wear all the time. And my cat's ashes and the tiny black and white cat plushie that guards them.
I would be the most sad to lose those. Those are identity items. But if I lost them in a fire I'd get over it. There's a certain transient nature to my life, I guess, and I just put more stock in living people than possessions.
Thank you for the questions!
Ask meme here.

It was fine, it was fine.  It could be a hug and a rescue. Just this once, he’d let it slide.
A very special thank you to @happyfoxx-art for creating this piece. I commissioned her to draw this scene from @plothooksinc's fantastic No Rest For The Weary, an action/adventure fic set post-movie that really lives up its name!
Check it out if you want a good read. The final chapter just recently went live, too!

Dorito duo is funny but honestly i LOVE BUFF AND BLUFF WHAT THE HELL IT'S AMAZING
i... i think i'll be using that i love it so much
So everything on my blog is categorize thanks to tags. So whenever something i post or reblog is specific to a serie or a character, i tag them accordingly.
i also have tags for duo/dynamics (not created by me)
For example, Donnie-Mikey duo is called PB&J, Donnie-Leo duo is called Disaster Twins, Donnie-Raph duo is called Brains And Brawn, and the Raph-Mikey duo is called Sunset. (i know some say those names are specific to ROTTMNT, but on my blog they apply to all versions, every series, for simplicity)
i'm missing a few. Any suggestions? Surely the fandom have come up with names for all of the sibling dynamics right?
The missing dynamics:
Raph-Leo Leo-Mikey
Tumblr media
Here's how it looks i'm basically missing leo-related dynamics name lmao poor boy
Please reply or reblog :)
of course if you have other suggestions that includes dynamics with splinter, april, casey, casey jr, etc, let me know too :D

hi! what are your thoughts on bloodbending in atla and it being framed as this "evil", morally corrupt form of bending? do you think it could have been presented in another manner and something that is capable of both good and bad?
well! it is a kid's show
but in meta-lly it would make sense for it to be used as a medical tool, which would be a cause for good. also it's basically like the nara shadowbending in naruto, which is a neutral thing in that universe
i think it's supposed to be framed as a loss of free will and violation of the body which is Very Bad and it's more Moral to just cut someone's head off
like most weapons, a group decides it's Very Evil when they fear that it'll be turned against them rather than their enemies. water tribes are, for better or worse, mostly isolationists. bloodbending is an elite skill that a water bender would have to practice on their own people to perfect, because no one else is around, and any tribe that has one is basically going to win any fight be default because no one wants to risk being hit by a nuclear warhead, so to speak
so i think the demonization of bloodbending is more practical than anything else

Villain's Coffee Shop part 11
Warnings: aftermath of gravely injured Villain, corrupt Superhero, intimidation
Hero yelped in surprise and fear, springing out of her chair hard enough to send it flying backwards as she whipped around to face her attacker, fists raised defensively …But there was no one there.
Hero's chest heaved with frightened breaths, heart rabbiting in her ribcage with adrenaline. Her huge eyes darted around the room, searching for something, anything that could have possibly–
She flinched at Villain's sudden burst of loud laughter, spinning back around to face him. She was enraged to see that he looked absolutely thrilled by the whole situation, not concerned in the least about an invisible attacker. He had the audacity to find her terror amusing.
White-hot anger flooded her senses, replacing the fear of moments before – and impulsive as she was, she lunged forward and swung a fist straight at Villain's smug face. No one toyed with her like this! And she'd make sure he knew it.
Villain looked her square in the eye as she attacked… and didn't even flinch. Hero's fist hit an invisible barrier that felt like punching through thick jelly, slowing her momentum to a crawl before stopping her fist an inch from his nose, halted in its tracks. Hero instinctively pulled back in surprise, but her arm wouldn't move. Ice-cold dread and horror flooded her gut at seeing the wisps of black smoke-like energy wrapping around her wrist, holding her in place.
An awful realization became frighteningly clear. She thought she'd been well-equipped for a meeting with Villain, considering her own fire powers were notably strong… thought she was capable of defending herself… but it was clear now that she was only alive because Villain was letting her be.
“Shadowbender,” Hero whispered in disbelief, and genuine fear edged her voice, making it tremble.
Villain grinned wryly. “Bingo. Truly one of a kind, I am. And that's not all I can do.”
Hero gave her wrist another hard yank, but it didn't budge even an inch, held in place by shadows coiled tight around it. Shadowbending was among the strongest powers someone could be gifted with. No wonder Villain had been able to slip out of Superhero's grasp so many times, with powers like his. Shadowbenders could turn themselves practically invisible if they wished, bending darkness to conceal themselves. And more powerful ones like Villain could temporarily turn shadows into something tangible that could attack and restrain enemies, as Hero was experiencing firsthand.
And not only that, but… Villain had to have time manipulation, too, to have been able to slow her down that suddenly and that fast before using the shadows to hold her still. Be able to create literal pockets of frozen time. Which meant… he had two powers. Something that should be impossible. Having two different superpowers?! It was unheard of. The ability to slow time down and even stop it altogether.
That's why Superhero hadn't been able to catch Villain yet. With both shadowbending and time manipulation, Villain was bloody dangerous.

The Cuphead Show: Dreamstones Edition TV Tropes
A/N: Warning, this fanmade TV tropes will contain for a future fanfiction. Please read with care and enjoy.
Abhorrent Admirer:
It was bad enough that Lexie and Katie are being the object of desire for the Devil and King Dice back in Heart, Soul & Mind, but they now have their TCS counterparts developing a Villainous Crush in them.
Once again, Anubis the Shadowbending jackal Bounty Hunter has his eyes on Natty, stubbornly determined then ever.
Poor Liam winds up getting one in the form TCS Cala Maria. Sure, she’s pretty as far as giant mermaids go but still…
In the separate summer special, “The Isle of Severus”, the titular antagonist becomes a second unwanted suitor for Lexie.
Accidental Karma:
Actually Pretty Funny: While the Devil did deny finding one Cuphead’s jokes funny before he laughs at the last one when they were reaching their turn on the Obliterator, the Devil actually find Katie’s Pokémon themed joke concerning a bus to be hilarious.
Adaptational Karma:
Instead of ditching both Cuphead and Mugman and went on ahead to win the recital competition by passing Cuphead’s song as his own, Ludwig ends up losing, prompting him to throw a tantrum and accidentally confessed to the audience and the judge he stole Cuphead’s song, causing him to unintentionally ruin his reputation and deemed a phoney to the public eye. Of course, he still gets a piano dropped on him and had to be sent to a hospital… where a certain demon makes a call.
Adaptational Nice Guy:
With the Dreamstones being his moral compass, Cuphead is mellowed down a bit and tries his hardest to go down the right track… most of the time.
With Say Cheese being adapted out, Elder Kettle doesn’t display any of his less savoury behaviour.
Adapted Out:
A handful of some episodes either the authoresses don’t like will either be adapted out. The following are Baby Bottle, Another Brother, Piano Lessons, Say Cheese and Lost in the Woods.
Baby Bottle himself will be adapted out due to the removal of his titular episode in the fanfic adaption as well as Bowlboy in Another Brother. It’s left to debate about Ludwig.
The scene of the Devil falling into a thorn bush and getting tangled in some brambles in the retelling of “Roadkill” is edited out and replaced with him falling down the overly long stairways leading out the Underworld and having to climb them back up again before collapsing in exhaustion. The part with the rabbit biting his nose stays the same with a slight change of dialogue when he spots it hopping over to him.
Adults are Useless:
Averted for the main protagonists as well as Misterie.
Subverted on Elder Kettle’s part whenever he goes Papa Wolf in some fanmade episodes.
Played straight for most of the other residents of the Isles, most especially when it concerns the Devil popping up.
Affectionate Nickname:
Amusement Park of Doom:
Ascended Extra:
The Devil makes more appearances in some fanmade episodes, making the Big Bad he was meant to be.
King Dice gets a bit more action in some fanmade episodes starring him as well while he only had four appearances in one episode person season (two if you count his smaller role in “The Devil and Ms. Chalice”).
Baddie Flattery:
Berserk Button:
Butt-Monkey: An OC in the form of a toon weasel has the worst of luck on the Isles where he owes the Devil his soul and his sole purpose in existence is being a gag character who has a string of misfortunes that would give Scrat from Ice Age a run for his money
Big “NEVER!”:
Big “NO!”:
Big “WHAT?!”:
Bound and Gagged: In “Rolling in the Dice”, Lexie sadly winds up as the victim of this trope after King Dice catches her spying on him backstage and develops his Villainous Crush in her, locking her in his dressing room during the rest of the show.
Changed My Jumper:
Cheaters Never Prosper:
Crazy Jealous Guy:
Despite a Nail:
Although they’re prevented from sucking up the nourishments from Elder Kettle’s garden to spite the Cups, the Root Pack still run away in terror.
Although he loses to the Dreamstones and the Cups in the music competition and accidentally reveals he had cheated by stealing Cuphead’s song, ruining his reputation, Ludwig still gets a piano dropped on him courtesy of one of his rivals instead of Mugman.
In the adaption of Cupstaged, the Dreamstones convince Cuphead not to sabotage the Devil’s audition in petty revenge and not to ruin Mugman’s moment to shine. However, despite the Devil performed a successful performance, he still didn’t get the role he wanted and had to play the part of Chatman. However, he still gets a Throw the Dog a Bone moment where it’s revealed that the villain in the play does a Heel-Face Turn and is adored as a reformed character.
In the retelling of Roadkill, rather than falling into a thorn bush and getting tangled in its brambles (Gemwing1988’s least favourite scene) after he stepped on a pine cone, the Devil winds up falling back down the stairways and is forced to climb back up again, collapsing in exhaustion. However, he still gets his nose chomped by a rabbit while the mishap with the thorn bush will be recycled and passed onto the weasel OC in one scene of one of the Devil’s attempts to nab his soul.
The Dreaded: As the main antagonist, the Devil is the most feared creature in all of the Inkwell Isles. And despite his silliness, he is still a main threat to the Dreamstones.
Easily Forgiven:
Engineered Public Confession:
Entitled to Have You: Once again, the Terrible Trio are the Dreamstones’ unwanted lovers.
Everyone Has Standards:
Even Evil Has Standards:
Floating in a Bubble: In the retelling of Roadkill, the Bubbles of Failure also bubble up anything the Devil greatly desires… such as a bride as Katie ends up inside a bubble, prompting Lexie and Natty to protect her from the Devil while thinking of a way to free her.
Hand Gagging: The Devil does this on Katie twice.
Here We Go Again:
Humiliation Conga:
As the Karmic Butt-Monkey, Dice ends up facing his comeuppance in the most humiliating way, whether it’s trying to steal Lexie away from Liam, trying to capture Katie and Cuphead or stealing Natty’s wand.
While nowhere near the extent of Dice, the Devil and Anubis have their moments of bad luck and humiliation at the hands of the Dreamstones. Such as the Devil still getting his nose bitten by a mischievous bunny after he collapsed in exhaustion when he had to climb up the stairways in the Underworld again after he fell down on them.
Hypocrite:
I Have You Now, My Pretty:
I Love You Because I Can’t Control You:
Anubis, stubborn as ever to make Natty his despite her defiance and sassy personality.
TCS Devil and King Dice pretty much inherited this attitude from their game counterparts when they set their sights on Katie and Lexie.
Irony: The Devil says he loves it when his victims run before he gleefully chases after the terrified Cups and humans, but he gets extremely annoyed and offended when they escaped him after they tricked him into destroying the Soul Ball machine, freeing all of the souls.
The Devil: (exclaims in outrage as he sees the group running through the exit) You don’t get to run away!
I Want Them Alive!:
Karmaic Butt-Monkey: TCS King Dice has it a lot worse than his game counterpart this time ‘round.
Know When to Fold ‘Em: Even though he had never met the Devil (nor does he ever wish to), Severus greatly fears Old Scratch and is content with ruling his island by his own means without having to give away his soul.
Laser-Guided Karma:
Whenever the Terrible Trio are up to no good in antagonising the Dreamstones, karma is always a corner away.
Hector Wolfe (@akluthor1998’s OC), faces his own comeuppance every time. It takes a few episodes until karma puts him in his place for good.
Lovely Assistant: In “A Bunch of Hopus Pocus”, Katie and Lexie get picked out by Hopus Pocus to be his two volunteers for a couple of acts in his magic show, only to realize too late that it was all a set up to send them directly into the waiting arms of the Devil and King Dice.
Loves the Sound of Screaming: When it comes to terrified people screaming in his presence, the Devil loves it as though their screams were more like cheers of praises.
The Devil: (smugly satisfied) My fans, they just can’t get enough of me.
Mama Bear:
Mass “Oh, Crud!”:
Meet Cute:
Named by the Adaptation: The toon elephant in the green overalls is named Eddie in the Fanfiction while the elderly female elephant is his grandmother named Ellie.
Nice Job, Fixing It, Villain!:
Oh, Crud!:
Offscreen Karma: Given what a terrible place it had been in her flashback episode, the Orphanage of Fear Ms. Chalice had ran away from could be the same orphanage the meteor hurtling towards to as reported in the Inkwell Blotter Henchman had read to the Devil. Which means, if the meteor had destroyed it, that would mean that the harshly strict penguins caretakers would be out of a job after how they had previously ran the place and punish Chalice for trying to have fun and showing off her talents. Thankfully, the orphans had make it out it’s left debatable about what would become of them afterwards.
Oh No, Not Again!:
Papa Wolf:
Scooby-Doo Doors:
Screams Like a Little Girl: King Dice is more prone to doing this in several fanmade episodes.
Stalker With a Crush:
Stalker Without a Crush:
When he’s not busy trying to force Katie to be his queen, the Devil spends most of his time trying to steal Natty’s magic wand as well as Lexie and Cuphead’s souls.
Dice pretty much puts aside his obsession with Lexie at least once or twice to focus on capturing Katie and Cuphead to get back into the Devil’s good graces and continue being Old Scratch’s number one.
Terrible Trio: Anubis with the TCS Devil and King Dice.
Throw the Dog a Bone: Due to the Dreamstones telling Cuphead not to resort to sabotaging him back, the Devil performed his audition without any interference. However, he doesn’t get the lead part as Cup Rogers and winds up o playing as the villain instead, much to his disappointment. On the other hand, the character he plays as has a sympathetic backstory and gets redeemed at the end, meaning that most people adore reformed villains as much as heroes.
Toast of Tardiness: Katie once ran late for her shift at Misterie’s Mystic Grotto and had to run all the way to the shop with a waffle in her mouth while carrying a bottle of soda she grabbed out of the fridge to wash it down (she didn’t had time to pour in a glass of orange juice much less saw any sense in carrying and drinking from a glass cup while running).
Toon Transformation: Happens to the Dreamstones, Matt and Liam once again after they’re accidentally transported into the TCS world.
Trapped in Another World:
Villain Takes an Interest:
Villainous Breakdown:
Villainous Crush:
A Want for a Nail:
In the retelling of Root Pack, the Dreamstones stopped the Root Pack from drinking up the nourishments from Elder Kettle’s garden and swelling up and they scare the con artists away. Elder Kettle’s “babies” are safe and grew up big and healthy enough to be made for his famous vegetable stew which helping serves to the main cast after recovering from his bad back.
Since the Devil earned Sally’s approval in his audition and the Dreamstone persuaded Cuphead not to sabotage, Mugman performed his audition without any mishaps and actually gets the starring role as Cup Rogers with Natty and Katie sharing the lead role as the leading lady as separate characters.
Despite he was given the part as Chatman, the Devil surprisingly gets the Throw the Dog a Bone treatment where his character has a sympathetic backstory and is reformed at the end, earning the admiration of the audience.
In the retelling of Roadkill, the Devil hops backwards and winds up falling down the stairways and is forced to climb them back up again after he stepped on the pine cone. That would make much more sense and is much funnier.
We Could Rule Together: The Devil says this word for trope when he when he declared to Katie he will make her his queen.
What the Heck, Hero?!:
You Have Got to Be Kidding Me!:

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗
number one: HI HELLO I LOVE YOU FOR THIS /platonic
number two: i.... have not written five fics that would be applicable for this (oops)
that said:
[it was futile]
"This isn't real. It... it was just a nightmare. A lucid dream of a doomed timeline, crafted of guilt and subconcious. To wake up, perhaps he needed to give in, let the creeping fog wash over him... After all, there was no point in fighting the inevitable." Several months after the invasion in New York, Leo wakes up surrounded by a nightmare he thought he had escaped -- and he's not alone. Delirious, scared, and confused, the only thing he wants is to find his way home. But things are never that simple. aka: a (reverse?) future crossover fic that features angst, hurt/comfort, my fucked up reimagining of the apocalypse timeline, and a lot of details that might become plot-relevant later (ahahaha... dw abt it)
this fic is very much a slow-burn. i have a lot planned, so i spend a lot of time weaving in details/foreshadowing that won't pay off for a while. as it stands, we're around 50,000 words in and i'm just about to get into the main plot. so.... yeah haha (really want to get the next chapter out this sunday/monday, but we shall see haha.)
(i am so bad at hyping up my own writing, so i hope my commenters do not mind me using some of their reviews):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
frequent commenters my beloved <3
(this is not the entirety of this review btw -- if you want to read the entire comment, you can do so here. mild spoilers (nothing that would matter), but it goes very in-depth about what you can expect from my style haha.
credit to @shadowbends, you are so cool, and every time i need motivation, i just reread this comment.)

Lampshades on Fire
Well the lampshade's on fire when the lights go out- This is what i really call a party now- Well, fear makes us really really run around- A-this one's done so where to now? Our eyes light up, we have no shame at all- Well, you all know what i'm talking about- The room lights up, but we're still dancin' around- We're havin' fun, havin' some fun now- Pack up again, head to the next place- Where we'll make the same mistakes- Open one up and let it fall to the ground- Pile out the door when it all runs out
made me think of the aftermath of one offshoot where giyuu gets exiled, something something mother killed & replaced by a spy nin and giyuu found out and killed said nin- tsutako only saw giyuu killing their mother & she chased him out of the clan for treason in a fit of despair/broken heart/trust. Giyuu fled to the Urokodakis for comfort from his pack (Sabito & Makomo), they ended up fleeing the southern valley entirely for saftey & then its adventure time :)
they kinda just do their best to distract themselves from the pain of leaving their home the only place theyve really known (& giyuu from the despair & feeling of betrayal abt his mother & sister- their culture is super close so being outcast is VERY serious). really just exploring their wider world outside the word of visiting merchants and learning about the realities people live, avoiding getting killed as rogue nin, finding other rogue groups, meeting new allies-
tomioka to urokodaki & past sends them to the east side of the mountains in the land of Rain, smthn like the kamados get whiped out and im thinking either they meet the whole kamaboko quartet later & adopt em all at once or they rescue tanjiro & nezuko in the middle of a raid & end up also taking in zenitsu & inosuke, loop back north to the bigger Northern valley in land of Volcanoes and meet kyojuro senjuro mitsuri & obanai, group heads west along the northern shore of the great lake into land if Wind and get muichiro & yuichiro, around this time learning of an odd group searching for a way to harness power from the sun based on an ancient myth of the continent's early history(nod to the hq!! msby team, on their own little quest to chase the sun), head around the great lake and meet gyomei at the middle mountain, head south and meet kanae shinobu & kanao at the flowering edge of the swaths of forest and swaths of grassy plains either way, heading into the plains southeast-ward and meeting sanemi genya & masachika, swinging back southwest-ward to avoid the southern valley and heading into land of Forest where theyre caught in the middle of a war between the uzui and another clan, quickly heading back north with a new quartet to the group at their warning the wars only get worse further south around the borders to land of the Dead & land of Ice
its the widest-reaching branch so far, just a massive adventure around the ramshack continent i stuffed several different anime series into and pieced together with ducttape & spit- land of the Dead & land of Ice have vampires, bloodbenders, shadowbenders, demons, an assassin bloodline, ...gojo, its not very fun down there<3 and i didnt even mention land of Water or land of Sand to the west & north respectively- i imagine their journey already would take a few years though, especially between keeping a bunch of kids in line, happy & healthy, and teaching them how to fight & defend themselves while they dont know where they are
map #28363610 ive made for this au.. i fucked up on the bottom mountains, left 'claw' is supposed to be bigger and the middle one's supposed to like. seperate the bottom so Koori's split into 'west' 'east' and 'coast'- also the southern valley's thinner and higher up in the mountains than the north valley (i.e. Very Dangerous, tomioka & urokodaki got it set UP in there getting paid to guide merchants through) and i couldnt add it, but theres a massive frozen lake at the top of the mountains betweeb the southern valley & Koori

explaining stuff ↓
my bright interpretation is very much not human (i luv nonhuman characters ok)
he can turn into this more nonhuman form if he wants, hes also a shadowbender in this form :3
its kinda the only way she can be in her original body, but because of stuff it currently looks nothing like what it used to look like
they could always turn into this form, just that after the thing with able they gained the devil wings and tail cause of 963, the thing that caused the black stuff on their face happens later on
they are a bird thingy in this form, specifically a crow.
they have digitigrade legs u just cant see them really well in this
everyone in their family is the same species and can turn into a form that is some sort of uh animal hybrid thing idk
he also has a cool scythe :3
yes 963 is in their eye, his original body kinda no longer has that eye and stuff happened to the other eye, so it acts like his eye in this form, if someone were to like idk rip it out she would just be blind
ill explain the black stuff on their face uhhhh another time lawlz

i wanna ramble about my canon more gjdjjfjdjcj

Villain's Coffee Shop part 12
Warnings: intimidation, deadly threats, villain whumper hero whumper
That's why Superhero hadn't been able to catch Villain yet. With both shadowbending and time manipulation, Villain was bloody dangerous.
"Let. Me. Go,” Hero growled quietly, but her voice came out shaker than she'd hoped, and Villain's eyes lit up at the blatant fear, like a shark smelling blood in the water. She winced as she felt the shadows tighten, pain starting to bloom as her bones creaked under the pressure. “Villain–”
“What's the magic word?” Villain cooed teasingly, like this was all some sick, twisted game to him with Hero as the entertainment.
“--Please!” Hero blurted, face coloring with shame. It hurt so bad, there was nothing she wouldn't do to break free – and she hated that Villain knew and weaponized that fact. Her hand was starting to turn colors with lack of circulation, and she fought to tamp down the rising panic clawing up her throat at how useless she'd been rendered. She could try to blast Villain in the face with her fire powers to get him to release her, but that would likely end in her own death, now that she knew what kind of powers he had.
Villain tilted his head, pretending to think it over. “Hmm, I don't think that's quite convincing enough–” Mocha suddenly jumped from his lap to the table, surprisingly unconcerned by the noise from before and the chaos Villain had created now, as if it wasn't new to him.
Hero's eyes were watering from the excruciating pain blazing from her captive wrist, but she watched in confusion as Mocha walked over and placed his single front paw on Villain's hand, looking up meaningfully into his face and letting out a raspy meow like he was talking to the criminal.
Villain's jaw clenched, but his hand relaxed a moment later, and Hero stumbled backward as the shadows retreated back to the corners of the room, and the strange time-stop on her fist lifted. She clutched her injured wrist close to her chest, trembling all over and deeply rattled by her brush with death.
Villain waved a dismissive hand at her like nothing had happened and that he hadn't been about to snap her wrist like a twig. “I'll think about your offer,” he said slowly, carefully. “I'll give you a call later with my answer of whether I wish to try my skills out as a hero like you. You may leave.”
Hero didn't need to be told twice. She whipped around and rushed for the door -- when her body suddenly seized up, frozen in time. She was aware of it, which made it all the more terrifying. Her hand was an inch from the door handle, but she couldn't move anything more than her head.
"One more thing before you go," Villain's voice called out behind her, "Don't tell Superhero about my powers just yet, will you? You won't like the consequences."
And Hero believed him. The time stop trapping her in place lifted, and she stumbled forward, barging out the door, the cold air hitting her in the face as she ran off, putting as much distance between her and Villain’s shop as possible.
Villain watched her go before turning his attention to Mocha, who was staring up at him with a worried expression – if a cat was even capable of making such a face. He sighed heavily, stroking his black fur. “Thanks for bringing me back, friend,” he murmured affectionately. “It's… easy to get lost in the darkness.”
But it wasn't his powers he was referring to.
