Stop it, NO WAY!!!

So today I got a package in the mail, and I thought it was a mermaid hair iron that I bought ages ago, so I asked my mum to put it in the kitchen for me to open it after I got home. Flash forward like 3 hours and I open this cardboard box that has been waiting for me. All I saw was a bunch of newspaper with German text, and I went “hold up” and closed the box. No way could this be happening.

No. Fucking. Way.

So I read who the sender was, and just as I suspected, @getwaytooinvolved had sent me something. Oof you best believe I had already started crying by this point. Turns out, this sneaky ass girl had gotten in contact with my sister and asked for my address so that she could send me some stuff that she knew I’d love, and they’d kept it a secret from me this whole time!!!

Nina, thank you so much for my massive surprise, your behind the scenes work is... wow!

I can’t quite put into words how much this all means to me. Sure, it might just look like a bunch of food and a rock, but it’s far more. I’m a sentimental person, and this means the world to me. You’re my best friend and I’m so beyond grateful and thankful every single day to have you in my life. I cannot wait to get you back for this one, pebble 🥰❤️

dirty little secret by @getwaytooinvolved: i honestly don’t have the WORDS for how much i love DLS. like, i hate reading things that aren’t complete ‘cause i’m impatient, but i broke my rules for this one because nina really Did That. beyond her igniting my love for cez, ha, she crafted this incredible story that just felt honest and real. like you could feel the the intensity, the need, the push and pull between all the characters and it was such a joy to read and see them all evolve. also uh the smut? a-fucking-1.

safe + sound by @softboyshawn: this one, i read before i got on tumblr and was still lurking to get a feel for the fandom and is actually a big reason why i got involved with shawn fic to begin with. i love werewolf!shawn as a concept and this series was just an awesome intro to that and the shawnblr writing community in general. we stan a protective alpha, an interesting storyline, and some good old romantic and action-oriented build up!

gin + juice by @smallerinfinities: i haven’t gotten a chance to read this one, but it’s been on my list for a while. i see people talk about it all the time and knowing how talented alex is? i’m ready for it to uh destroy me, especially based on what glimpses i have seen — i’m excited to read something that explores some deeper/darker themes!

Fan-fic writer appreciation

So today (August 21) is the day that we're supposed to show appreciation for all these fan fiction writers that spend their free time writing stories for us. These people don't get paid for it, but they do it anyway because they enjoy it and you enjoy it. And even though a lot of us reblog things that say "give writers feedback" and stuff, none of that ever really happens. Writers are still getting more likes than reblogs, but likes don't get their writing out there for more people.

So, in my time here on Shawnblr, I have compiled a list of people that I absolutely love to read from. These people work so hard on their fics and they deserve the recognition and a follow if you're not already following them. And I know I'm leaving people out because let's face it, I've read a lot of fics and i can't remember them all.

I was a quotes blog to a Connor Franta blog to a 1D one and a 5sos one and multiple Shawn Mendes ones and a few marvel ones damn too many to count. But this was always a place where I could just reblog stuff that made me happy. It was my safe place for the past 6 years. I’ve put my whole damn life on here and it’s been like my diary. It’s the one place I’ve felt completely and openly my dumb self. Thank you for letting me be my true self.
