I was tagged by @bookmarksandbrushpens and @andriacrowjoy to do 10 Facts.

1. My first fandom was Star Trek TOS, but based on the James Blish episode novelizations because the show wasn't on our approved television list.

2. I use a lot of bright colors in my art, but my wardrobe is basically jeans, black tshirts, black Keen clogs/slides/slipons... and brightly colored handknit socks in the winter.

3. I used to drive a purple Escort station wagon.

4. I was diagnosed with celiac disease 21 years ago. Those were dark times to be gluten intolerant.

5. I have a basic book arts certificate from the Minnesota Center for Book Arts.

6. I have two very busy black cats - Chaos and Mayhem.

7. I recently acquired an Olivetti Underwood 19 portable manual typewriter.

8. Although I'm a decent typist, I have to two-finger type on this typewriter because my pinkies are too wimpy to hit their assigned keys hard enough.

9. I also recently acquired (for cheap at a thrift shop) a Penney's (yes, JCPenney's) toy typewriter from the late 1960s. It's in great shape, but horrible to use.

10. I love to take classes from Minneapolis Community Education and also from local and online arts organizations. I've taken classes to learn everything from French braiding my hair to pruning bonsai to mat pilates to writing a will.

Relationship status: single and incredibly conflicted about it.

Favorite color: green. Just about all shades of green. I love a really pale pastel green, a bright celery green, a dark olive green; I just love green.

Three favorite foods: mushroom, spinach, and cheese quesadillas with chipotle sauce; warm, crusty sourdough bread with salty butter, and maybe some honey (frankly, this is my most comforting food. If I'm really sick and not feeling like eating, I can still generally manage some sourdough bread and butter); sugar cookies with royal icing (this is due to my maternal grandfather, who would take me with him to the local bakery all the time, when I was very young, to get doughnuts or kringle for the whole family's breakfast. However, because he very much spoiled me, even that wasn't all. He would also buy me a sugar cookie, topped with royal icing to eat in the car on the way home. In both of our defense, this was a half-hour drive each way. But still, i can't help but feel very comforted whenever I have a sugar cookie with royal icing.)

Last thing I listened to: Willow by Taylor Swift (so, true story, I have a slightly embarrassing, completely unironic love for Taylor Swift's music.)

Dream trip: I'd love to travel internationally period. I've never actually been outside of the US. My anxiety makes travel of any kind pretty difficult. In particular, I'd love to go to Japan someday. I'd also love to visit the Shakespeare and Co bookstore in Paris.

Anything I really want: more bookshelves (always), a weighted blanket, for the US to catch up on humanitarian treatment of people in general, for public libraries to be given the credit they deserve as major pillars of our communities, and for the anxiety screaming in my brain to maybe take things down at least a couple of levels 😅.

Part of my pen collection. Right now my favorites are my TWSBI Diamond 580 with fine nib, (but with my small handwriting I need an extra-fine) and my vintage Parker 51. I’ve got it dated to between 1947-1949. Such a smooth writer. My current journal is a Leuchtturm1917 that I really liked the look of after seeing @bookmarksandbrushpens posts. I still want to get a leather cover for it.

This has become one of my favorite pens for journaling. I keep it in my pen case so it goes everywhere but it’s main use is just for journaling right now. I have Diamine Ancient Copper in it right now and I love how smooth it is. I never would have even purchased the Ancient Copper if I hadn’t seen @bookmarksandbrushpens use it.
