The PUMA x Black Fives Limited Edition Suede
Tumblr media
PUMA will be launching the next PUMA x Black Fives release in its ongoing partnership with the Black Fives Foundation, featuring a limited-edition classic PUMA Suede, while officially kicking off the launch of the Black Fives Online Museum presented by PUMA. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to research, preserve, showcase, teach and honor the pre-NBA history of African Americans in basketball.
The Black Fives Online Museum presented by PUMA is a free, multi-use, virtual platform that reveals the Foundation’s archives of nearly 1,000 historical artifacts, as well as related content from the Black Fives Era of basketball. Visitors can see, learn, and be inspired by the stories of pioneering African American teams, players, contributors and related historically important items such as vintage images, objects, ephemera, memorabilia and more. Check out the new museum by visiting https://www.blackfives.org/museum/.
This PUMA x Black Fives release consists of a classic lo-top Suede silhouette that pays homage to its timeless style while amplifying the history of the Black Fives Era through thoughtful retro-inspired design details. The special PUMA x Black Fives Suede includes natural dyes, a confident sapphire blue suede upper with a chenille fabric Formstrip and the Foundation’s trademarked slogan, “Make History Now.” This release also includes two co-branded T-shirts.
This collection, retailing for $40 to $80, launches June 18 on PUMA.com, at the PUMA NYC Flagship Store, at the Black Fives Online Fan Shop (shop.blackfives.org), and at select retailers including online and in store at Foot Looker Inc. Family of Brands (including Foot Locker, Champs, and Eastbay) and Shoe Palace.

The term Black Fives refers to all black basketball teams that thrived in the United States between 1904, when basketball was first introduced to African Americans on a large scale organized basis, and 1950, when the National Basketball Association became racially integrated. The period is known as the "Black Fives Era" or "Early Black Basketball" or simply "Black Basketball". #therens #blackfives #brooklyn #harlem #pittsburgh #chicago #ohio #pennsylvania #washingtondc #california #nba #harlemglobetrotters https://www.instagram.com/p/B2RiqxoljBe/?igshid=19qfe3vodhoeq

The period between 1904-1950 is known as the “Black Fives Era” when the first all-black basketball teams began to play. The era ended when the NBA began to accept black players in 1950. SPIDEY SWINGS IN TOMORROW!
Avengers fans... The time is almost here for your favourite web slinger! Tomorrow 30th November sees Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man AKA Science Nerd AKA The Bug AKA “A...thief! A criminal! A menace to the entire city!” (If you ask J.Jonah Jameson) arriving in Marvel’s Avengers for Sony PlayStation 4 & 5!
We’re dropping in with this ass-kicking, web flicking new trailer for the Spider-Man: With Great Power Hero Event, purely for your viewing pleasure and of course, to enjoy those Spidey-isms that he’s so famous for. After all these years what’s become more clear than anything, is that with great power... Comes a great sense of humour.
“Avengers assemble... Bad guys scatter.”
Peter Parker has discovered a new threat and now joins the Avengers in an attempt to halt AIM! Whilst we’re used to Spidey taking on the troubles of the city all by himself, he’s here to show us that he plays well with others too. After all, he ain’t the only star of this show!
Whilst there’ll unfortunately be no single player missions, he’ll be at your disposal throughout the Avengers Initiative as a truly welcomed addition.

PUMA x Black Fives Foundation Clothing Collection
Tumblr media
As part of a multi-year partnership announced earlier this month and in celebration of Black History Month, PUMA and the Black Fives Foundation are releasing a special apparel collection launching this Friday, February 12th.
The first PUMA x Black Fives collection will include popular PUMA styles including vintage graphics and logos maintained by the Foundation’s trademarked slogan “Make History Now.” Five unique silhouettes will be featured in the collection including a hoodie, short sleeve and long sleeve tee, pants and shorts all in a black and cream color palette.
The partnership, which supports Black History education reform and the Foundation’s preservation and education efforts through creative activations, including an engaging, multi-use online museum to display its archives of historical artifacts and content from the Black Fives Era, will also include the release of footwear later this year. Further information on this partnership with the Black Fives Foundation, including a quote from its Founder and Executive Director, Claude Johnson, along with info on some of PUMA’s other Black History month initiatives can be found in the attached release.
Retailing for $45 - $90 the PUMA x Black Fives Foundation clothing collection will be available on PUMA.com and at the PUMA NYC Flagship Store on Friday, February 12th.  PUMA and Black Fives will also be releasing a forthcoming footwear collection this spring.
