a/n: i might have projected myself a little into this one >< oh to have a yang jungwon in my life ㅠㅠ

you were never usually the one to date around

but sometimes, desperate times call for desperate measures

having your name known in high school had its ups and downs, you realized

you wouldn’t call yourself pretty or even popular, but you knew deep down that a few people found you attractive

with the way they approached you or tried to get your attention; you weren’t dumb nor were you blind

you didn’t mind it at first. you admit you liked a little attention here and there

but when things got too far, you knew you had to put a stop to it

you weren’t sure how many people had a crush on you, but you knew that there were some

at first, you paid no attention to it, and was even thankful, in a way

but when your suitors realized that you wouldn’t budge, they started to up the ante

from receiving harmless love letters and the occasional chocolate bar, it suddenly evolved into date invitations bouquets and jewelry as gifts

albeit you find the gestures kind, but you didn’t really want anyone to keep spending money on you in fear of leading anyone on

what’s worse is, your faceless suitors have decided to show themselves to you, and to the entire school

most of them confront you in the halls, asking when you’ll accept their courting

others passively wait for you to choose them as your boy/girlfriend

so, on a random tuesday, when your countless suitors are busy bugging you on your way to your next class,

you frustratingly exclaim, “i have a boyfriend!”

now the problem was: you didn’t have a boyfriend

but things were escalating too fast and you just wanted it to stop

you had no heart to reject any of them but you also wanted them to keep their distance

so this was the next best option.. right?

your plan started to go downhill quickly when one of your suitors asked, “who is it?”

you panic, trying to think of a fake name or even someone that doesn’t go to your school

but your mouth worked faster than your brain, and you found yourself saying “jungwon”

“yang jungwon?” someone asked

yang jungwon— the school vice president, soccer team captain, top of his class. also your best friend since both of you were toddlers

“yeah.” you say, feeling unconfident about your plan, afraid that any one of them would peak through the cracks of your lie

but thankfully, none of them do. they leave you be, grumbling about how you’ve been dating jungwon but never said anything

however, for the first time in a while, no one bugs you for an entire day.

you receive no gifts, no guys waiting outside your door to walk you to your next class, not even a passive aggressively suitor “accidentally” bumping you in the halls

your relief is short-lived, however, once classes end and you have to meet up with jungwon

the two of you always walk home at the end of everyday since you’re both neighbors anyway

“hey,” he greets you by the gate. “how was your day?”

“fine.” you reply

the two of you didn’t share any classes, since jungwon was a year higher than you, so most of your walks consisted of you and jungwon talking about your day

he knew about your countless suitors, and was half expecting you to rant about another absurd situation with one of them

but instead, you were quiet the entire time

and he immediately knew that something serious was up, because you were never quiet

“you ok?” he’d ask, genuinely worried about you

absolutely anxious about what you had said earlier in the hallways, you found yourself asking jungwon the craziest question

“canyoubemyboyfriend.” you say, the words jumbled with how fast you mumbled them

“what.” jungwon would just stare at you, stopped in his tracks

you sighed, deciding to tell him what happened: the suitors, what you told them, and how you want the entire ordeal to just be over with

“so.. you told them you were dating me?” he asked, piecing the situation together.

“yeah.” you said. “i’m just so tired of them bothering me all the time.”

“yeah, i can tell.” jungwon laughed.

awkward silence filled the two of you as you continued your walk back home

you treated jungwon’s silence as rejection. you decided to just leave it be, thinking of another solution for tomorrow

but when the two of you made it to your front porch, jungwon suddenly says,

“i’ll do it.” he says

“huh.” you stared at him, unsure if you heard that correctly

“i’ll be your boyfriend.” he nonchantly says, hands in his jacket pockets.

“seriously??” you said, not expecting him to agree.

“yeah. if it means keeping those creeps away from you.” he said

you were so ecstatic of him agreeing that you didn’t think much of what he said

you threw yourself unto jungwon, giving him a tight hug

“thank you, thank you wonnie! you’re a life saver.”

he merely smiles, hugging you back

“let’s talk about it tomorrow.” you said, pulling away

you bid jungwon goodbye and walk back to your front porch, and into your front door

unbeknownst to you, jungwon looked at you the entire time

with a sad smile on his face, he leaves for his house and worries about the repercussions tomorrow

i feel like jake wouldn’t immediately catch your lie

but he’d eventually find out through some signs throughout the day

would be a little sad that you weren’t telling him the truth, thinking that you didn’t trust him enough

but he’d suck it up and make himself think that this was about you, not about him

he’d probably cuddle you in bed the whole day

jake gives me the vibe of someone who likes to talk about deep and meaningful stuff

so he engages into this psychological conversation with you about life, the universe and such just to distract you

following her said advice, sunghoon would try to keep you company

picnics with sunghoon are a rare occurrence; i don't view sunghoon as an outside type of person

but whenever it does happen, it's definitely memorable

he'd take you to a very remote park, under the shade of a tree

you wouldn't eat much, i feel like

you'd just spend the whole time sitting next to each other, reading books or just talking, with him playing with your hand

would definitely put flowers in your hair

so you'd do the same in return

you'd take a lot of selcas together

overall a very peaceful and relaxing date

a/n: the minor members are absent for this one, it makes me uncomfy to think about them participating in underaged drinking, so i hope you don't mind

you were invited to a party by your friends during the weekend

you weren't the party-going type, but you also weren't the type to say no to an invitation when you had no other particular plans

you and your friends were already on your way to the party when you found out that it was being hosted by park jay

cue instant panic

the rest are under the cut.

jay was well-known for throwing the best parties in town

but that wasn't the reason why you were panicking

it was because you knew that if jay was hosting, then his friends would definitely be there

including the one and only sim jake

to say that you had a crush on him was an understatement

you had known him all throughout highschool

you weren't extremely close, but you guys often exchanged "hello"s in your school's hallways whenever you guys bump into each other

and liking him wasn't difficult

jake was the epitome of a model student

had high grades, was an athlete, even part of the school government

he was one of those perfect male leads in the kdramas you watch

which is the exact reason why he makes you nervous

he was too perfect and you were just.. well, you.

it was too late to back down from the invite so you gritted your teeth and forced yourself to enter jay's house with your friends

fortunately, jake was missing on the first half of the party, which gave you enough time to actually enjoy yourself

you danced with your friends, drank a little and even played a couple rounds of beer pong with jay's friends, heeseung and sunghoon

a few hours into the party, they decided to play a game

and you were starting to feel a little tipsy

just a little though; you were still pretty aware of your surroundings

but everyone else seemed drunk

except one, and it was jake

somehow, despite being there for a good 2 hours, you had only seen jake now

maybe he arrived late, because he was the only one in his friend group who wasn't drunk yet

you all sat in a circle in the living room, and heeseung was passing shot glasses to everyone

"what're we playing again...?" one of your friends asked

"never have i ever!" sunghoon shouted from across you. "we take turns saying something we've never done before, and everyone else has to take a shot if they've done it."

jay began pouring alcohol in everyone's glasses, and you sat in silence as the game started, trying to avoid looking at jake in fear of getting caught staring

the game went on smoothly, there had been a total of five rounds already, and you had only drank twice.

but since you were already tipsy, you were started to get a little bit more intoxicated as the game progressed

then came one of sunghoon's turns

he thought for a few seconds, eyelids drooping a little with how drunk he was, "oh, oh i have one! never have i ever liked someone from this circle!"

a chorus of "ooh"s were emitted from all of the players

you looked at everyone and no one was making a move to grab their shotglasses

you looked at jake, and he was practically in the predicament as you

looking at everyone, unsure if he should pick up his glass

feeling a rush of bravery, probably from the alcohol, you grabbed your shotglass and downed the vodka in one go

everyone started whooping, cheering you on, but before you could process anything, jake reached for his shotglass and down his vodka as well

everyone started shouting, eyeing the two of you

fortunately everyone was too drunk to question you about your sudden silent confession

and the game went on, with all of you emptying almost four bottles of vodka

the party was nearing it's end, and all of your friends were too drunk to drive

but you had to go home or else your mother was going to murder you

so you just decided to walk

you weren't that drunk anyway, and you were pretty sure you could handle yourself

but someone didn't agree with that

"i'll walk you home." you turned around and saw jake in all of his sober glory, grabbing his jacket

"n-no it's fine, i can go home by myself." you tried to say as you reached for your own coat

"no buts. it's late, and your drunk, i'll take you home." he said in an authoritative tone, leaving no room for argument

"'m not drunk.." you defended, following him out of the house, staggering into the sidewalk

you felt him hold you by the waist, helping you walk "you can barely keep yourself up. are you sure you aren't drunk?"

"'m not!" you stopped in the middle of the sidewalk to prove your point. "see???"

jake merely laughed at you

both of you resumed walking

the alcohol was starting to sink affect you slowly

you were barely walking in a straight line

and with the addition of the nighttime darkness, you could barely see anything

jake had to hold you up by your arm to keep you steady

to top it off, you had began rambling, giggling to yourself as you talked to jake

"look! s'a frog.." you said, pointing to a frog by the grass, crouching down to greet it. "hi froggiee..."

jake, amused at seeing you like this, laughed. "let's go, y/n"

due to your alcohol-addled brain, you never noticed jake having his arm wrapped around your waist, keeping you close as to not let you astray

your eyes were beginning to droop, feeling too exhausted and drunk to walk

noticing your plight, jake picked you up, and started carrying you all the way to your house, bridal style

you merely hummed, snuggling up to his chest

coerced by all the vodka, you called out to the man carrying you, "jake...?

"yes?" he looked down at you

"rem'mber earlier, when we.. when we took a shot.. during the game?"

his eyebrows scrunched, before finally remember what you were pertaining to

"yeah, what about it?

"t'was you!" you yelled, "i like you.. like, a lot."

jake stopped in his tracks for a second, "oh," before adjusting his hold on you

then, he started laughing

"why you laughing..?" you pouted

"because i like you too." he said

you were too drunk to understand the implications of what he said, but you replied anyway, "oh, thats good"

as if on cue, the both of you arrived on your doorstep. jake rung the bell before putting you down on the ground

your roommate opened the door and helped take you off of jake's hands

but before the door closed, jake called out for you, "y/n?"

you replied, still shitfaced drunk "yeah..?"

"i'll call you." then he faced your roommate. "tell them i'll call."

your roommate nodded, before shutting the door

"who was that?" you asked your roommate, eyes practically closed

"nobody, y/n." they said, helping you get to your room. "absolutely nobody"
