you’ve been in a relationship with ricky for a while now

but you haven’t had the time to hang out in your apartment with just the two of you

busy with debut preparations, ricky basically had little time for dates

which you understood

so one morning, on a busy day of his, you decided to surprise him

more under the cut.

you woke up earlier than usual, leaving ricky on his own in your shared bedroom

you were planning to surprise him by preparing breakfast before he left for the day

you were already in the kitchen, busy beating eggs while a pot of water was boiling in the stove,

when you felt a pair of arms wrapping themselves around your waist

you nearly jump in surprise, but end up giggling once you feel ricky’s sleepy figure leaning against you

“g’mornin’” he’s mutter, voice still hoarse from slumber

“what’cha making?” he asks, and you respond that you’re making him breakfast

“can i help?” he’d ask, and even though you had some doubts about his cooking skills,

one look with his wide, pleading eyes would make you say yes

i mean who could deny that man anything

so you both spend a good half hour making breakfast

in the messiest way possible

ricky, although helpful, was not the cleanest person when it comes to cooking, you found out

he’d be mixing pancake batter and end up with flour and eggs on his shirt

he was also pretty clumsy

you’d ask him to chop some onions and he’d end up cutting his own finger

“ow.” even though it was just a small, tiny cut, he’d definitely whine and pout about it

“it hurts.” he’d grumble to you. “kiss it better?”

honestly you weren’t even sure if he was a help or a hindrance to you

but you eventually finish cooking and the two of you eat together in the living room

because ricky trashed the kitchen so much it was physically impossible to eat in there anymore

ricky offers to help clean up, but you tell him he doesn’t have to

plus he already has to get ready for practice since he needs to leave soon

he frowns when you say this, his shoulders slouching in sadness

you try to hug him in comfort, but the two of you only end up cuddling on the sofa

“i wanna stay in with you.” he mutters against your neck, whining about how he doesn’t want to go

you have to go remind him that he can’t skip practice, not when they were so close to their debut

and he agrees

so he reluctantly lets you go and starts getting ready to leave

meanwhile you busy yourself with cleaning up the kitchen

when you finish, you find ricky dressed and ready to go in the living room

he leaves you a kiss and a tight hug

“thank you for the breakfast, baby”

he tells you he’ll be in charge for dinner later as compensation for messing up the kitchen

but you tell him not to worry about it

half because you’re worried he’ll burn the apartment if you let him cook on his own
