On the topic of game reception, what are your thoughts on the current state of pokemon?
OK THIS ASK WAS SENT BEFORE THE HUGE LEAK LOL but I have a lot to say:
I watched VHS tapes, played the games, and owned merch since a young age so the series is very special to me. But I don't like the current direction at all and it's not because of the designs or nostalgia. The quality and game performance plummeted so how can I enjoy playing when there's mad lag or low frame rate that hinders my progress and worsen the experience??
It took too many years for them to realize they need to put quality over quantity after the SWSH mess, seeing that they can get away with pretty much ANYTHING and still make huge profit. You see people say that Pokemon should've never went 3D and stay 2D but tbh, it's a series that improves it's graphics as technology advances so it's not a surprise for them to finally go 3D and personally I think that's fine but just keep it looking good and fun (though I would love a 2D/3D hybrid). XY introduced a lot of new features but still lacked in some aspects that still haven't really been solved or added.
Reusing assets is common in the industry but only to a certain extent. They claimed that SWSH was taking a while to make because they were making brand new models which turned out to be a lie and they look like bootleg figures with the new lighting. The 3DS models were ripped from Pokepark, including some animations, but a lot of them still barely have any character. They have their own in-house team (Creatures Inc) so they made the decision NOT to have pokemon properly animated or look alive.... Also they made spin-offs like Ranger, Colosseum, Pokepark, and Pokken which look AMAZING
FRLG took only one year while HGSS was being developed at the same time as Platinum and took 3 years to finish that turned into one of the best games and remakes ever made. As the franchise expands, the team also needs to add more manpower but Game Freak can definitely afford to get more resources to help them?? They can't continue having a ragtag team of like 20 people to make a game back then and do the same now then expect good results... Hire more people who know how create with current gen consoles IT'S COMMON SENSE PLS also I can't believe they had a different company create BDSP knowing how beloved and groundbreaking DPPT was?? No redesigns like the previous remakes and thought it was a good idea to keep it looking a carbon copy to the DS style...
Also it's shocking to see how fan reception can change how the devs direct the next gen ESPECIALLY when it's not even real constructive criticism?? When Unova came out, I remember seeing all the online outcry about "OH THEY HAVE AN ICE CREAM CONE POKEMON AND A TRASH BAG, THEY'RE RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS EW" then actually hear it being repeated at school.... I WAS TRYING TO SURVIVE SINCE DAY 1 IN THE TRENCHES DEFENDING THIS GAME IT WAS ALWAYS GOOD AND DIDN'T NEED 10 YEARS TO AGE WELL. It's crazy how these are the same people who want another Kanto when Trubbish is Grimer (garbage waste) and Vanillite is Voltorb (based on literal items) then you could not catch any other pokemon from different regions in the main game. And the leak confirmed that the disgruntled hate from the west made the devs not release new pokemon in B2W2 and move them over to XY instead AND NOT GIVE A SINGLE GEN 5 MEGA EVOLUTION. So we were robbed because of genwunners who were fixated on the wrong things and ignored all the great content Unova brought us. It's strange how players keep complaining they want a different and fresh game, but want it to continue being super formulaic and binary like wtf do you want make up your mind
None of the switch titles really got me invested and I always end up replaying the older games but hopefully PLZA will break the curse and finally give us a nice game. Also why don't we have more spin-offs on the switch if there's so many of them floating around like the DS had a bunch??? STOP BEING COWARDS I WANT A POKEMON NINTENDOGS GAME OR THAT FIRE EMBLEM CROSSOVER WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET. I JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN AGAIN ;w;

The gigantic metal beast landed with a thud. Not the most graceful of homecomings, thought the handler. It didn’t matter, of course. No damage to the mech, four enemies down, a few needless but thrilling maneuvers for the video drone capturing every moment. A successful mission any way one cut it. The handler looked up from the screens, towards the solid, tangible reality of his ward.
Even after years together, even after a hundred missions, the sight never failed to impress. Himiko emerged from the cockpit drenched in sweat, every curve of her body glistening under the hangar lights. She stretched. This was a performance too, even if she didn’t know it. Her booty shorts and miniscule top were as much a necessity as an asset, and her “dismounts” were something of a phenomenon among the viewers.
Every second in the cockpit was filmed, every motion in combat captured from several angles, every landing documented to be masterfully edited and broadcast to the population. She was a soldier on two fronts: fighting the rebellion while also being someone the company could parade in front of everyone, someone people could root for, someone they could obsess over. Better to have them focused on her skin, those shorts, her beautiful face. Even her mech, the Enkidu, was part of her brand: it was an older model, a classic -or a relic, depending on one’s point of view- that tended to be particularly punishing for pilots. The goddamn thing was an oven, relying on overheating systems for sudden bursts of enhanced performance with minimal heat dispersal to spare the operator. Hence, booty shorts and top. The effect was simple, eloquent: she was a warrior, an underdog willing to do whatever it took to destroy a more advanced enemy. Underdogs were good. People cheered for them.
The handler shuddered. If Himiko knew he had been the one to suggest her brand…
Well, there were many things Himiko didn’t know, and every asset needed a brand, a simple phrase that could be marketed, displayed, sold. “Sexy, rebellious underdog”. Everything orbited that one concept. Her clothing, her public appearances, even her fighting style. She was as artificial as her mech and didn’t even know it. Damn it.
The handler chased the feeling away. Things would be worse for Himiko without him. He was good to her. Hell, compared to other handlers he was downright angelic, if the stories were true. Even the whole “underdog” gimmick was… mild, next to what other pilots were saddled with. The company had to cater to many tastes, after all. “Ruthless, cold bombshell”. “Cheery, optimistic angel”. “Seductive, psychotic killer”. A pilot for every desire, and joint missions were true events, advertised and promoted with taglines like “...But can they work together?”, or “Angel and Demon together!”. The strategic purpose of such missions was a secondary priority, if it was a priority at all.
Yes, “rebellious underdog” wasn’t that bad, all things considered. The handler went down to the launching bay.
“I fucked up with that second mech”
“It still went down, didn’t it?”
“Messed up my aim. I Could have downed him quicker. Fuck!”
Himiko was one of the few pilots allowed to swear. It fit her brand. Well, truth was Himiko was one of the few pilots able to swear, but that wasn’t something the handler liked to think about.
“May I shower?”, she asked.
“You may”, he replied.
Himiko flashed him a quick smile and headed for her quarters. The handler watched her leave. He wondered, as he had done so many times before, if he was the only one that could see something between sadness and rage in her eyes.
II
“We were going with something like… ‘Guts and Glamour’, when the op was just Himiko and Adrian, but now that Ruby’s part of the whole thing…”, said the handler.
“‘Guts and Glamour’? Really?”, scoffed Mark.
“You know them marketing boys like their alliteration, Mark. We work with what we got”, added Katrina, a bit offended.
‘Guts and Glamour’ had been her idea, in fact. A bit on the facile side, but the handler had to admit his partner had nailed it on the head. Katrina was rough, but one of the best, after all: that was why she had been saddled with Adrian. “Vain, cocksure prettyboy”, had been the concept and the pilot delivered in spades, which was a blessing and a curse. He was easy to hate as much as he was easy to desire. The company liked to try some “hate that you love them” concepts every now and then. They thought it was a complex character. A pain in the ass for a handler, that’s what it was. Sometimes the public saw their skills and were won over. Other times…
Well, tragic deaths were quite moving too.
Ruby, on the other hand, was a tried and true idea. Fiery, sexy redhead. Not much to do with that, but her genetics did the heavy lifting. Something for the basic teen boys.
“Right, right. Well, Maybe we can keep it. Ruby’s glamorous too”, said Mark.
“Nah. Won’t work. Three pilots, ain’t it? We need three keywords, short, punchy. And I don’t think we have a third ‘G’ word to throw in there. And Ruby has… no offense, but I wouldn’t call it glamour, exactly. I mean, not your fault, bud. But…”, trailed off Katrina.
“No offense taken. We aren’t shooting for high class with Ruby. What you see is what you get, pretty much. And she loves to let people see”, replied Mark.
“You sure got lucky with the whole heat gimmick, right? Himiko can show off and still come across as tough”
It took a moment for the handler to realize Katrina was talking to him. He poured himself another drink, and saw the other two handlers onscreen joining him in a toast across space.
“I guess”, mumbled the handler.
“You know, I don’t know what’s better: fucking the hot redhead everyone thinks is slutty, or being the only one that knows how freaky the rebel girl can get”, giggled Mark.
“Come on, man. That’s the kind of joke that gives handlers a bad rep”, said the handler.
Silence stretched, infinite, plastic.
“Don’t bullshit a bullshitter, man. You tapped that, and you know it”, retorted Mark.
“Say what you will about Adrian, but he makes up for his preening with some stamina”, said Katrina.
“Stop it. It’s not funny”, muttered the handler, shifting in his seat.
“We’re not being funny. This shit ain’t for broadcast, pal. Save the PC shit for official events. It’s just us shooting the shit, here”, said Katrina.
“Wait. You don’t really… you know…”
“Fuck my pilot? Eight days a week, cowboy. Jesus, are you bullshitting me right now? It’s like, the one benefit we have. Sure, it’s not on the fucking brochures, but come on! We have genetically enhanced clones that are programmed to obey and designed to be hot! You think the company doesn’t know what’s bound to happen? Nature’s gonna nature, I say. And it’s not like they’re… people-people, you know?” said the woman on the screen.
“They’re clones, sure, but… they’re still people”, said the handler.
“You mean to say you never thought about it?”, asked Mark.
“Think about it… I mean, I guess. Like… you can have fantasies about anyone, right? But fantasies are one thing and… doing shit is another”, said the handler.
Katrina laughed.
“So let me get this straight: you’re all alone in your compartment, jerkin’ it to a girl that’s right fucking there, next door over, and who would do whatever you told her to do if only you had the balls to command her? God, that’s pathetic. You have a feast in front of ya and keep eating those saltine crackers from ration packs, honey. Okay, real talk: are you gay, or ace, or…”
“No. Bi, actually”, said the handler in anger. “Doesn’t mean it isn’t wrong to…”
“See, I think I get the issue. I’ve seen it a couple of times. Clones are not like you and me. Clones obey. And they don’t feel bad about it, because they can’t not obey, feel me? It’s just the way they’re made, you know? She wouldn’t feel violated or… I don’t know, used. Not in any degree above what happens whenever you send her on a mission. She’s designed for it. It’s all she knows and all she can know. And if we are being honest… let me ask you a question: are you scared for her when it looks like a mission is gonna go tits up? Are you anxious when you give her a combat plan and don’t know if it’s the best course of action?”, asked Mark.
“Of course”
“Me too. Every single time Ruby goes inside that mech I’m sweating bullets. I care about her. It’s my job to make her thrive, man. That’s what we do. You know who’s never scared going into combat? Ruby, or Adrian, or Himiko. Can you imagine that? Climbing into a big ass combat mech and not being terrified? But they’re not like us, and you know what? I kinda envy them. They are at peace. They have their missions, and the complete, unshakable focus to do their best every time. Combat, a photoshoot, an ad… same to them. Just missions. They don’t have to make choices, or suffer the pangs of uncertainty. There’s something beautiful there. A purity. They are what they are, do what they’re assigned to do, and those two things are the same thing. They have clarity of purpose. They’re not burped into existence like the rest of us. And when I tell Ruby to wrap her huge tits around my cock and get me off, it’s another mission to her. Nothing more, nothing else. You ask me, they’re the lucky ones. So, word of advice: care for your pilot. But don’t fall for her. ‘Cause you’d be falling for a shadow”. Said Mark between drinks.
The meeting went on. The handler didn’t really pay attention to whatever title they had decided to give their joint mission in the end.
III
The mission had been a success. In the end the marketing people had decided to play up the “one guy, two girls” angle. Would love blossom on the battlefield? The people saw Ruby saving Adrian from a cowardly sneak attack. The flirting had been heavy and constant. Of course, Ruby had made no such heroic save, but editing could perform miracles.
The handler was glad Himiko hadn’t been picked to move the romance plot forward. Sure, affairs between pilots existed only for the cameras, in parades and interviews, but still. Himiko’s brand wasn’t appropriate for such things. But if he was being honest, it wasn’t the sanctity of the image that bothered him. He had been with Himiko from the beginning. He had designed her brand, advised on her fighting style, added flair and soul to the character. Himiko belonged to the company, sure, but in a creative way, Himiko was his. The strong girl in the posters and vids, the firebrand adored by millions… he had created that, as much as the geeks at the genetic farms. Perhaps even more.
The handler couldn’t say when he had gotten out of bed and walked out of his room. He found himself in the hallway, steps away from the pilot’s compartment. She -it- would be there. His creation. His product. Hours of work, gallons of sweat and tears and anxiety and effort put into her… into making her a phenomenon, beloved by millions. And what did he get? He was anonymous. He was a shadow- worse, a shadow of a shadow, unrecognized, unrewarded.
The door slid shut and Himiko went instantly to her feet. Pilots were light sleepers by design, always ready. They slept in the nude, so they could get into their outfits instantly. Shame was not something they felt, less of all in front of their handlers.
“Do we have a mission?”, she asked.
The handler paused, entranced by the soft curves of her pilot. It didn't matter how much he saw of her, it always made an impact somewhere primal, deep inside his soul. No, not her. The product, he reminded himself. The word escaped his lips before he could stop it.
“Kneel”
There was a moment there, barely longer than a lightning strike. Himiko’s eyes flashed with confusion, a hint of outrage, and then set on complete, focused determination as she went down on her knees. She looked up at the handler, ready to obey. The handler felt almost drunk, giddy. So many men and women looked up to this girl, adored her, saw her as a role model and object of desire… and now she looked up at him. It was intoxicating.
“Remove my underwear”
She did so with the efficiency of a close quarters combat expert. He barely had to shift to let her cast the fabric aside. One part of him couldn’t believe it was this easy, even as inside him a quieter, stifled side of himself screamed. It was too late to go back.
“Suck my cock”
What followed was akin to vertigo, beyond anything he had ever felt before. He couldn’t stop himself from closing his eyes. The handler wasn’t a virgin, but he might as well have been. Himiko took to her mission with the zeal and determination of a true warrior, changing speeds, pressure, angle, using her tongue, her lips, her throat. The handler felt something in the base of his spine, an orgasm building from somewhere deeper than anything he had experienced in his life. Overcome by the maelstrom of sensation, he had for a moment forgotten what was happening, sent hurling away from reality by the pilot’s skills. His eyes snapped open.
He saw Himiko. Strong, fierce Himiko. Her expression was one he had seen a thousand times in the cockpit, the focus of an operator in that special zone where only the mission existed, where only her objective mattered. He saw a programmed response, and a reminder of what she really was. Of what he was doing.
“Stop”, he muttered. She instantly did. He caught his breath.
“Could you… could you pretend to enjoy it? Like… like you… want me?” God, he felt pathetic. The feeling, however, lasted only a second. Himiko smiled, a smile no one had ever seen before, a smile that didn’t fit any poster or propaganda piece. It was mischievous, flirty, like they were accomplices in a secret, loving affair. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t real. She made it feel real to him.
She made him feel special.
Suddenly there was a sense of fun, of warmth to her actions. She moaned and purred with every lick, teasing him, smiling and biting her lips, making him feel as if for that moment his pleasure was her pleasure, that he was all that existed, that his cock was the most beautiful, most entrancing thing in the universe. His moans mixed with hers as she worshiped him with her mouth, her hands, her breasts. It was sex and devotion, fun and partnership, lust and love. It was too easy to believe it all, too perfect to resist. The handler wanted the moment to last, forever if at all possible. When he told Himiko to get on the bed, she leaped in joy and looked at him as she stretched on the mattress, eyes full of anticipation, a teasing challenge to her lover.
He dove into her arms. He kissed her stomach, her perfect thighs, her neck. He wanted her, wanted to devour her, to be with her and for her to be his, totally and completely. He wanted them to belong to each other, to seal a partnership that had, in his mind, been growing for years. Her shallow breathing, her whimpers and soft moans begged him to do it, to take what was rightfully his. His hand softly caressed the inside of her thigh, barely touching it, moving upwards slowly, savoring every second. When he felt the wetness between her legs, he couldn’t help but wonder if that too was a conditioned response. He pushed the thought aside and let himself drown in her lips.
She was tight, and he managed to stop himself, teasing her clit. He didn’t want to hurt her. It occurred to him that Himiko was, in fact, a virgin. He would be careful. He would be gentle. He would take it slow.
But she was a warrior on a mission.
“Do it”, she said, panting. “Take me. Fuck me. Use me! I’ve seen you looking at me… my ass, my tits, my face… they’re all yours. Yours. Stop being a pussy and fucking ram that big cock inside me! I want it… I want you to treat me like your whore, your toy, whatever the fuck you want… just give me that cock! Please!”
The handler didn’t know if Himiko had been studying him, gathering information for precisely such an event, but it didn’t really matter. She knew exactly what to say, exactly how to say it, with a mixture of begging and demanding, commanding and submissive at the same time. She knew what to say to blow away any lingering hesitation, to obliterate any morality that might be holding him back. He entered her with fury, with anger, with lust, with the strength of years of repressed emotions and confused feelings behind him. Her legs surrounded him, brought him closer as she came with a melody of moans and tiny screams. Her nails dig into his back. The pain was the one thing that kept him from cumming. Had that been luck or a calculated move on her part?
With all her martial skill, she reversed positions and got on top.
“My turn”, she smiled.
He had fantasized about this moment for years. Himiko showed him just how limited his imagination was. She was mercurial, flowing from one position to another, from one attitude to another. She was whimpering and fighting against her own pleasure one moment, pinning him down and riding him with a wicked smile the next; she feigned innocence on second and then delivered babbling, perverted barrages of dirty talk without missing a beat. She made the bed feel like a playground where everything went, everything was allowed. She made him feel safe. Wanted.
Eventually, exhaustion got the better of him. Unlike Himiko, he was a simple handler, not a trained fighter. He fell asleep in her arms, postponing the inevitable reckoning with what he had done for a handful of peaceful, perfect hours.
IV
The handler called in every favor he had. Burned a few bridges, too. It was necessary, he told himself. It was for Himiko, he told himself. It was the right thing to do, he told himself. Anything to make the voice inside his head shut up for a few seconds.
As a handler he had access to general genetic records: after all, he needed to know what his pilot was capable of, what enhancements had been made to her. There were other bits of information, however, that only the people at the genetic farms had and guarded jealously. But after a solid two weeks of begging, threatening and cajoling, he had managed to get a copy of what he needed, an answer to the question that had been tormenting him- and now he lingered, too scared to open the files.
Himiko was a clone. But somewhere out there there was an original. Or maybe there had been one, long ago. Whoever Himiko was made from was probably an old woman living in secluded luxury. That was the standard deal: a comfortable life of complete anonymity for the donors. They were usually athletes, sometimes models or soldiers, sometimes people with very specific characteristics that might appeal in a pilot, given a few adjustments. The handler didn’t know what would be worse: to find out the original was out in the world, or to find out Himiko’s genes had been taken from an old blueprint and the original had passed away. He just knew he needed to know, because Himiko deserved to know. Not that the pilot had asked, of course. But he needed to… do something for her. Yes, do something big for Himiko. That would make the voice shut the hell up.
He opened the files and started reading, a terrible dread growing in his chest.
Sample obtained through Rebirth Protocol.
It was there in black and white: a rumor discarded by almost everyone, embraced only by the most fringe of lunatics. And it was real. The Rebirth Protocol. Forced acquisition of samples from captured rebels before their executions.
Himiko’s original had never lived a life of peace and comfort. She had been a rebel. A fighter, like her clone. One battling the company at every turn, transformed into an obedient asset in an act of perverted, vengeful poetry. And he had been complicit. He had made Himiko one of the most recognizable faces of the company, a key pillar in its efforts in the battlefield and in the war on the minds of the people.
The handler threw up. He copied the files to his personal device, shaking. He could feel his determination wavering. No. He had to show her, and he had to show her immediately.
Himiko smiled as he entered. The handler felt terrible for issuing that particular order. Knowing what he knew, the smile felt like a dagger.
“Himiko, look at this”, he said, pulling up the files on the screen. It was all there. Himiko’s original name. Pictures taken during captivity. Video of her flying a rebel mech. He looked at the pilot. Something was stirring inside her, he knew it.
“She looks like me”, muttered Himiko.
“She is you. In a manner of speaking. But… you were…”
“I was a rebel. I… Permission to speak freely?”
“Granted! Fucking granted!”
“I feel… something. Anger… no, not anger. It’s more… righteous. A fire. We… I… refused. Refused to be under the boot of the company… we… there was more to life. More to being a person than just working and consuming and… Why? Why do I remember these things?”
“I’m not sure. If you were a rebel pilot, it’s possible they copied not just your DNA but some of your neural pathway patterns, to transfer combat experience into… your new self. Maybe she… you, the real you… is still in there somewhere. Kei. Your name was Kei”
Himiko was crying without moving a muscle. Tears rolled down her perfect face.
“Kei…” she muttered.
“You are Kei”
“I am…”
An eternal pause.
“I am Himiko, pilot for the company”, came the emotionless response.
“No! You don’t have to be! You were a proud fighter and can be that again! We can… we can leave. We can escape, together. Disappear. Go to some forgotten corner of the galaxy, and…”
“Pilots are not allowed to travel without company authorization”
The handler stormed out of the room.
Sleepless nights on unauthorized communication channels, places where the company couldn’t snoop. Editors uploaded outtakes of pilots messing up, or candid footage of pilots in showers and locker rooms. Handlers shared the… art they had compelled their pilots to make, a notion he would have refused to believe not long before. Gene freaks debated new techniques, mulled over the possibilities of more extreme genetic modification. And the handler read it all, looking for the answer to a singular question: was there a way to break the conditioning?
He wasn’t the first handler to wonder that, he discovered. A few before him had been shouted down, accused of being potential rebels. Some had gotten tidbits of information, ways in which perhaps, in theory, the compulsions could be lessened, if not erased entirely.
He tried them all. Flashing lights. Shock diet. Memory regression. Hypnosis. More and more Himiko was becoming like her other self, like Kei. And yet, after every attempt, he issued a single command.
“Slap yourself”
She did so. Every single time.
“I’m sorry”, she said.
He was on his knees, his head on her lap, sobbing. It was pointless. The company had her, and by having her, they had him. There would be no escaping, no happy ending in their own secluded corner of the world. Only dreaming.
Maybe dreaming wasn’t so bad. One could get lost in a beautiful dream. Perhaps even forget it was a dream, every now and then. That was the best they could hope for: to steal small moments of counterfeit happiness from a world too miserly, too cruel to allow the real thing to thrive. Didn’t Himiko deserve those moments, that respite? Didn’t he deserve them too?
Defeated, he rose to his feet. The handler looked at the pilot’s sad eyes.
“Himiko… love me”, he commanded.

gonna ramble a bit about the ml art style change bc ig I have more thoughts about it than I knew. tagging this as leaks but no like story stuff is gonna be mentioned bc I don't really know any lol
so going off what little we've seen of it (and in arguably the lowest possible quality at that) I think it's gonna make the show very visually pretty which isn't to say it couldn't be or wasn't in the older style(s) but that was def more inconsistent between studios and such so if this new style is the standard then like. yeah it's gonna look great
buuuuuuuut I also think it looks kinda. generic? like what's happened to a lotta brand logos that used to have personality but now all look super flat and simplified. like the Pepsi logo or whatever. it's a similar situation to the movie (I'll get into this in a bit) where like yes it looks pretty but it doesn't really look like Miraculous to me? like ik the style kinda varied somewhat between the studios but it was largely consistent enough and felt much more unique. like I could see a screencap from any timestamp of any episode and place it as Miraculous just bc of the visual style
now tho it looks less unique to me and more....like a mobile game ad? some kinda un-marketed direct to streaming movie? not trying to sound mean or anything but it just doesn't strike that same feeling the old style did for me as of yet. it feels more like an attempt to ape off a generic Pixar/Disney sorta style which the movie's style did too - and that ig is a good excuse for me to kinda dive into my thoughts there bc like. it looks way more like that movie now right? the y'know completely non-canon movie that to my knowledge wasn't received too terribly well lmao. I feel like this is on some level purposeful tho
I made a post the other day about how someone (especially the youngins) might go into season 6 thinking it's actually more of a season 1 only to presumably find that very much isn't the case pretty quick lmao - but that's still a new viewer, which makes number go up, which is a Good Thing. that s6 looks to be something of a fresh start given the whole Gabe in da Ground situation makes me believe this more since I'm pretty sure he got got in the movie too (<- does not remember the movie she saw twice) albeit in a different way. very real chance they view s6 as something of a soft launch pad with the hope of ppl who only saw the movie just jumping in without looking first. I also have an even more insane conspiracy theory that they're using movie assets at lower res for the sake of cost management but again. nutso hunch
regardless I'm kinda surprised they're changing it so drastically this deep into the series and I have no idea how the quality of animation is gonna hold up from episode to episode, season to season. presumably this is part'a why we haven't had s6 drop yet, that they've been working on it thoroughly, but it's been a good minute since s5 ended and I feel like the drought in content isn't really worth it?
like it's been so long that to me sometimes it's felt like the show straight up ended and while I don't mind a wait like this, the show then coming back looking entirely different to how it used to is gonna be jarring. I'm giving it a chance bc we haven't really seen it yet and that footage is very likely a wip of some sort but all the same I'm not terribly impressed? the emotions seem more stilted and flat, there's a few sorta redesigns that look....off (namely Adrichat, imo), and it feels too much like an attempt at cashing in on whatever success the movie might have had by bringing the look of the show more in line with it
think what gets me the most is that the style and animation of the show was one of the biggest things that drew me in beyond the bugcat of it all. it was the first CG animated show I'd seen where I felt as if the animation really worked; the world felt alive and vibrant, the city lived in and populated, but it didn't feel uncanny or like realistic in any sense, and there were plenty of gaffs and flaws throughout but I feel that only endeared the look of the show to me more - it had its own style that stood out for better or worse and I think that played more a role in the show's success than most have given credit for, and now that it's being entirely dropped in favor of a style that feels much more like some generic CG animation style I can't help but feel a bit disheartened and even nervous about the future of the series tbh
want to say that I'm not looking to hate it - I'm gonna give it a chance, and again I think it does visually look pretty, but I feel like it loses a lot of what made the show stand out to me and changes things I don't think really needed changed. time will tell but as of now I'm really not sold on it
also think having a special (or two? maybe?) in the old style just to drop us into the newer one presumably shortly after is kinda weird. wonder what happened there. bad timing? tbh using a special to introduce it mighta helped a bit but idk for sure

Nothing gets me into a fiery rage more than thinking about 343 has handled the Halo series after Bungie left it off on such a high note. 1, 2 and 3 were good, ODST and Reach were godlike, and they expanded on the universe quite a few times with books and comics and all that. And then 343 came in and just completely gumbled most of it up. CEA was cool, but basically just kitbashed Reach and upscaled Halo 3 assets together and lost some of the original touch the game had back in 2001.
Halo 4 was, ok? The best part was Cortana's story, going into more depth about rampancy and how it affects AI, especially one that we've known and loved for over a decade at that point. The Forerunners were fucking stupid personally, it's hinted to and LITERALLY SAID IN HALO 3, that humans are forerunners, just after the shitshow that was all the rings firing off. 343 Guilty Spark literally says that Chief is a forerunner, and then they just whipped it around and said "well actually he's a reclaimer because blablabla" ok whatever, they do flesh it out more in expanded works and explain it in Halo 4 so atleast theres that. Del Rio is an asshole to the savior of humanity for no reason. The sudden art style change that makes no sense is stupid, like you could've delayed the change until the Infinity rolled around. The Diadact is just space voldemort turning humanity into NFTs after being on r/nofap for 100,000 years, who then dies pretty unceremoniously to a shit ass grenade in a quick time event.
Halo 5 is.... fucking just Halo 5. The Cortaba story is so bad, why did you bring her back as an antagonist? Why didn't you stick to the marketing that was actually a really cool idea about Chief going rogue and hunting the truth. Where are the Marines? Why do I have to fight the Warden Eternal like 20 times? Better balancing than 4 i guess, but god the plot is just all over the place. And that fight scene with Chief, Chief was abducted as a child and forced into the spartan program and trained to be a cold brutal killer of the UNSC's foes. Without Mjolnir armor he straight up merked 2 ODSTs in hand-to-hand combat. This 7-foot-augmented-out-the-ass man had an equal match in a mass produced Spartan 4? Sure Locke is ONI so he's got some spice to him and he's still a Spartan wearing similar armor to Chief, but come on, you can't tell me a guy who saves humanity for breakfast is on a similar level to Halo Nightfall guy.
Infinite is strange. They basically drop Halo 5's characters for the most part, give Chief new (remastered Mk.6) armor, bring back older models of guns and stuff with a new coat of paint (Reach AR, Battle Rifle, now the DMR) and blow up Cortana and the Infinity within the first like, 30 minutes of the game. Ooooo the Banished except wait after Atriox's not-death they're pretty incompetent and are gettinf roflstomped by Chief and are really only good at killing UNSC off screen. The open world shit was ok, but for Halo i dont think its entirely the best idea to go for whatever Far Cry ass shit they pulled. Bringing back the old designs was really cool and much better than the sterile, clean, sharp edges of 4 and 5. Their armor and weapons looked like brand new toys while Infinite's look more realistic and have a bit more wear and tear to em. But its also missing a ton and just kind of ends off on a weird half note for the story. Like where are they gonna go with this? Idk, its just weird.
343, make more stories without Chief. I know Chief is the figurehead of the franchise, but for god's sake please please please make side stories in the universe. I want to see how humanity recovered after the war, how the different species in the Covenant took the end of the war. Exploring Forerunner sites? Side stories in the human-covenant war with ODSTs and Marines! You could totally make the Harvest campaign into a game! Give us the origin story for Sgt Johnson and how he and others did during the opening months of the conflict! Give us more on the Insurrection! You've done it before, Halo Forward Unto Dawn was actually a really cool movie, why don't you do some more stuff like that??
Idk, I love Halo but 343 gotta step their game up
#halo#343 industries#fucking please make more side content i want more down to earth halo content#im sure the loreheads will suck yall dry if you do

I was looking through message boards for certain games on GameFAQS on Tuesday while waiting for dinner to finish cooking. After that, I got bored and looked through the listing they had for Medabots titles to read a review for a certain game in the franchise. It was at that point that I discovered the page for a new Medabots game that was slated for release sometime next year. There weren't any screenshots, but there was a trailer available in the videos section. After watching the trailer, however, I was less than impressed with what I saw.
After 5 years of no new Medabots games, THIS is what they decided to put out? At least with Medabots S: Unlimited Nova, there's some kind of quality present within the game that could keep players engaged for a few years. But with this, I don't see anything good with this one.
The graphics and art style are a confusing mess. Even for a mobile phone game, there's a clear mismatch of assets present within the game. The art for the characters looks like this:

But once you get into the actual game, these are the graphics you'll have to get used to:

I'm sorry if I might sound a bit harsh here, but these graphics are just cheap. I'd say that this looks like one of those smartphone games that show fake ads on YouTube. But that's too close to the quality of the game. This looks like one of those games that people would play on websites like Dan-Dare.org.
Even fans from Japan seem to agree with me with this poor first impression of the game.

Call me crazy, but if you're going to release a new entry in a long-running franchise 5 years after the last entry, you can expect people to be a bit picky about what you have to give to them after such a long time. You know your game is bad when people look at it and compare it to a cheap bootleg from China or Taiwan. So when it comes to the fans, not even they care about this.
To make matters worse, the trailer has the nerve to show bits of gameplay from older Medabots games. Ranging from the Game Boy games to Dual and even Medabots R. Even AX gets a bit of recognition.
The game already looks rough as it is. Did you really need to shoot yourself in the foot by showing all of these better games with more appealing graphics? Imagine seeing all of these games and thinking that it would lead up to something better than Unlimited Nova. That was pretty much my reaction when I watched this trailer for the first time.
Ever since Medabots DS, the Medabots franchise has proven that it just isn't what it used to be. The gameplay has veered far from the franchise's roots, turning what used to be a hectic RPG into a third-person shooter with RPG elements. (The newer game mechanics and controls aren't bad. They're just not suited for a core Medabots game.) Not to mention, the art style has also taken a significant downgrade. If you didn't tell me any of the newer stuff was official, I would've believed most of it was fan art.
It really hurts to see just how far Medabots has fallen since the 2000s. What was once an enjoyable line of RPGs with endless amounts of customization and strategy has been reduced to a shameless bunch of cash-grabs that only exist to milk what they can out of an already established brand. Medabots Girls Mission, Medabots DS, and Medabots Survivors are prime examples of why that is the case.

Cask Whisky Investment: How to Build a Profitable Collection 🥃💰

Cask whisky investment is quickly becoming one of the most exciting and lucrative ways to build wealth in the world of alternative assets. Unlike traditional stocks or bonds, investing in whisky casks offers the potential for impressive returns as whisky matures and gains value over time. But how do you go about building a profitable cask whisky collection? In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know, from choosing the right casks to managing your collection for maximum profits. 🏆📈
What is Cask Whisky Investment? 🛢️🥃
Cask whisky investment involves purchasing whisky casks (the wooden barrels where whisky is aged) instead of individual bottles. Over time, as the whisky inside ages and improves in quality, the cask itself increases in value. Investing in whisky casks allows you to benefit from the growing demand for rare and aged whisky. But it requires patience and expertise to make informed decisions about which casks will bring the highest returns. 📅💼 If you are looking for the best cask whiskey investment, then see it here.
Step 1: Understand the Whisky Market 🌍🧐
Before jumping into cask whisky investment, it’s important to understand the market dynamics. The whisky industry is influenced by many factors, including distillery reputation, whisky age, rarity, and demand. Here’s what to consider:
Market Trends 📊 The whisky market has seen significant growth, with certain casks increasing in value year after year. Scotch whisky (especially single malts) and bourbon are some of the most popular casks, but there’s also growing interest in Japanese whisky and Irish whiskey. Keep an eye on market reports and auction results to spot trends. 📅💡
Distillery Reputation 🏅 Whisky from well-known distilleries often appreciates faster than lesser-known brands. Distilleries like Macallan, Glenfiddich, and Ardbeg are examples of brands that produce casks that tend to see strong demand. A strong brand reputation can make a significant difference in your investment returns. 🏆🍾
Aging Potential ⏳ The longer a whisky cask is aged, the more it can increase in value—generally. However, not all whiskies age well, and some may lose value as they age. Casks with unique characteristics (like older age or limited editions) often appreciate more significantly. Research the distillery’s aging practices and the typical aging times for their whiskies. 🕰️👨🏫
Step 2: Choosing the Right Casks 🏅🛢️
The most crucial part of building a profitable cask whisky collection is selecting the right casks. Not every cask will provide the same level of return, so it’s important to make careful decisions based on these factors:
Type of Whisky 🍶 Single malt Scotch, bourbon, and Irish whiskey are some of the most popular and valuable whisky types. However, different regions and styles can have varying investment potential. For example, rare peaty whiskies or sherry cask-matured whiskies might see higher demand as collectors and connoisseurs seek unique flavors. 🏴☠️🍇
Age of Cask 🎂 Whiskies typically appreciate as they age, but it’s important to choose casks that will reach their prime in the future. Some investors prefer young casks that are expected to appreciate in the long run, while others may focus on vintage casks that are already a few years old and likely to continue aging. 📅⏳
Rarity and Limited Editions 🔥🦄 Limited edition casks or those from closed distilleries (such as the now-closed Brora distillery) can offer substantial value. Rarer casks have a higher likelihood of becoming collector’s items, which can increase their value dramatically over time. 🏅🔒
Quality of Distillery 🏆🏭 Opt for casks from well-regarded distilleries known for producing high-quality whisky. The reputation of the distillery plays a large role in the appreciation of the cask’s value. Established names in the whisky world like GlenDronach and Highland Park are a safe bet for long-term growth. 🏅🍶
Step 3: Manage Your Collection 📦🔧
Once you’ve selected the right casks, the next step is to manage your collection wisely. Whisky casks investment require proper storage and maintenance to ensure they age well and maintain or increase in value. Here’s what you need to know:
Storage in Bonded Warehouses 🏰🔒 You cannot just store your whisky casks anywhere. They must be kept in bonded warehouses (licensed storage facilities) to ensure they remain tax-free and legally compliant. These warehouses provide optimal storage conditions to allow the whisky to mature at the right pace. 🏠🥃
Insurance 🛡️💼 Just like any valuable asset, it’s important to insure your casks to protect them from potential damage or theft. Whisky casks can be worth thousands, if not millions, depending on the brand and age, so proper insurance coverage is essential. 💵🔥
Track the Value of Your Casks 📉📈 Keep track of the market trends and the value of your casks. Regularly check auction results and whisky market reports to stay up to date on changes in the market and understand how your investment is performing. This will help you decide when to sell or hold. 📅💡
Step 4: Selling Your Casks for Profit 💸💼
The final step in building a profitable cask whisky collection is knowing when and how to sell. While whisky investment is a long-term commitment, there are times when you may want to cash out.
Sell at the Right Time 🕰️💡 Whisky casks typically gain the most value as they reach maturity, but there may be times when selling earlier could yield great profits, especially for rare or highly sought-after casks. Keep an eye on market trends, auction prices, and demand for specific distilleries to maximize your profits. 📊💥
Whisky Auctions 🏛️📦 Whisky auctions are one of the most common ways to sell your cask. Well-known auction houses, like Bonhams and Sotheby’s, often feature rare and valuable whisky casks. Alternatively, you can also sell directly to whisky brokers or collectors if you prefer a private sale. 🎉🏆
Consider Bottling 🍾💥 Some investors choose to bottle their casks before selling, especially if the whisky has become more valuable after maturation. Bottling adds an additional level of value, but it also incurs costs, so it’s essential to weigh the pros and cons before deciding. 🍶💸 You may consider this site, to find more information about the whiskey cask investment.

Conclusion: Building Your Profitable Cask Whisky Collection 🏅🥃
Investing in whisky casks can be a rewarding and profitable venture for those who are willing to research, manage their collection carefully, and be patient as their investment matures. By choosing the right casks, managing them wisely, and selling at the optimal time, you can build a profitable collection that grows in value over the years.
As you continue your journey into the world of whisky investment, remember to stay informed, diversify your collection, and enjoy the process of watching your assets age—and appreciate—in value. Cheers to your future whisky profits! 🥂💰

Truth Terminal becomes the first AI crypto millionaire
🔹 Truth Terminal, the chaotic bot mixing philosophy, internet lore and meme token degeneracy, is now a crypto millionaire. The known wallets belonging to the bot now contain close to $1.5M, spread across 93 tokens. The X account of became an overnight millionaire after receiving even more new meme tokens in its portfolio. Some of those tokens also became overnight sensations because of their affiliation with the unhinged bot.
🔹 Overnight, the known wallets of Truth Terminal kept receiving new meme assets, while the old holdings kept charting all-time highs. The wallet dedicated to Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) hovers just under $1M in value since all tokens are extremely volatile. The other known wallet, containing 25 tokens, is valued at $490K. Traders are already trying to track all the tokens linked to Truth Terminal.
🔹 The memes and tickers linked to the bot are extremely risky, but also hold the probability of getting ahead, while older memes fall out of fashion. Besides the growth of GOAT, which made up $800K of the bot’s portfolio, the other token that popped off was Fartcoin. The asset was just hours old as of October 18, rallying from $0.0005 to $0.005 in its initial trading. The token has just $288K in its most active liquidity pair and may be just starting out. The coin’s ASCII logo and its slogan also suggest AI-style branding, with the hope of producing the most absurd meme possible.
🔹 Truth Terminal may continue to produce token ideas when prompted, complete with ASCII art. The tokensthemselves may be deployed by anonymous traders, stealing the bot’s idea. When prompted the right way, Token terminal even imagined a smell meme token. The bot’s creator does not endorse any of the assets and continues to claim Truth Terminal exists simply for entertainment and exploratory value.

Beat Bispen: Revolutionizing the NFT Music Realm
In the contemporary world of NFTs, Bermuda Unicorn is one of the first platforms to act as a marketplaces. However, among all the various and original categories, one can single out the “Tribal Tech Maestro Collection,” a model of which is “Beat Bispen.” In this article, the author focuses on the analysis of one of the NFTs, namely the Beat Bispen NFT, in terms of artistic and technological relevance to the NFT music category.
The Essence of Beat Bispen
Bispen Defeats is an NFT that originates from the Tribal Tech Maestro Collection on Bermuda Unicorn; the picture depicts a tribal-looking figure with a combination of older and future clothing styles. The character wears neon headphones and is drawn in a rather colorful pallet which enhances the idea of the connection between music and art thus it is a great piece to have if one is a collector or loves good music.
Bermuda Unicorn: A Leading NFT Marketplace
Currently, Bermuda Unicorn has become one of the most significant players in the sphere of NFT proposing any types of digital assets including arts, music, and even real estate. For some, it is famous for its friendly design, integrated trade protection policy that safeguards users’ accounts, and a rapidly growing community of artists and collectors. As seen with the concept of Bermuda Unicorn and the particular case of Tribal Tech Maestro, there are many opportunities for further development of new NFT collections.
Exploring the Tribal Tech Maestro Collection
That is true and the Maestro Collection of the Tribal Tech brand is a good example of what Bermuda Unicorn represents. This collection comprises pieces of art personifying tribal art with technological art, thus giving this collection a new modernity to appeal to the worldwide public. I would like to draw special attention to Beat Bispen's work; it meets the criteria of combining both tradition and the digital era in the ornament style.
Analyzing Beat Bispen
Beat Bispen’s attractive appeal is based on its complicated design and the use of bright colors. The character is painted with a greenish skin color – that underlines the otherworldly aspect of the character. The pair of neon headphones which appear very lively symbolizes both music and technology at its very best. The addition of a smile on the character’s face along with a stylized beard creates individuality and character.
However, there is a binary-like pattern in the background of the NFT, while the whole background and the figure of a character are illuminated and look very bold in comparison with the background. This is not only beneficial aesthetically but also satisfies the idea of combining the heritage of the old world with the technology of the new world.
The Significance of Beat Bispen in the NFT Music Realm
Beat Bispen is not just a unique-looking NFT, it is an evolution in the NFT music space. Due to its interactive nature based on music, art, and technological features, this NFT is a complex experience for the holders. It forms a part of the Tribal Tech Maestro collection and showcases how the tribal art form can break from conventional confinement and create a new art form in the form of NFTs.
The Future of Beat Bispen and NFT Music
The further prospects of this type of NFT are very good in the music industry, where Bermuda Unicorn acts as a pioneer. Beat Bispen is just one example of how music associated with NFTs can change the world of art collecting, and further advancement of this technology will most likely bring new talented singers and musicians who will create true masterpieces in the field of fine art.
Conclusion
Probably, the most successful example at the crossroads of NFTs and music is Beat Bispen from the Tribal Tech Maestro Collection on Bermuda Unicorn. Finally, due to its distinct tribal style combined with modernity in technology, it is a collector’s item. The encouragement of separating creativity and innovation for the Bermuda Unicorn means that the future for NFTs in music and arts is extremely promising.

FMP: Tutorial and Experiments. LO2, LO3.
Week 8
My feedback for this tutorial was primarily defining the audience and creating a brand identity around this. Dot talked about how this idea linked into my original Pollock's focus on bringing back nostalgia for the older generation, and how this can be translated into signage inspired by vintage fairground artwork. In perfect coincidence, Dot's grandmother Valerie Falla has been a resident at Hastings her whole life and Dot recalls visiting Flamingo Park throughout her childhood. Dot's grandmother Valerie Falla hints to the nostalgia for her childhood in her artwork.
The question of this project is how do we frame the fairground as something also for the older generation? Think to the story of Flamingo Park and why some people might reminisce over it. I did conduct research into Flamingo Parks history but sadly there doesn't seem to be any. Dot and I theorise it as having originated in the early 2000s. So in this case it's more a nostalgia for seaside attractions elsewhere, which can be applied to Flamingo Park.
We discussed the visual direction of this, which is what I have been very stuck on these past few weeks. Whilst places like Dreamland and Kingsland in Poole take on a contemporary direction, this doesn't feel reflective of Hastings rich history, so Dot was saying I can take it in a vintage direction.
Some things to consider:
What do I want people to feel?
I want them to feel nostalgia for the past and think, 'that's cool, I never see fairgrounds like this now!'
How can the public be involved?
Perhaps the produce sold in the park is produced in the local shops. There are many signwriters in Hastings also.
Why come to the park?
Flamingo Park can add to the enjoyment of all generations.
Additional Advice:
Think outside the box, a motorway advertisement could draw tourists. Advertisements in London tube stations, also.
First think about the visual assets/style, THEN introduce colour.
Suggestion from classmate:
The Printed Peanut - turns out this is Louise Lockhart who I have looked at! She used the naive style I have considered.
I started thinking about the visual style here:
Reflection, LO4:
I felt the use of blue and red to be most effective because I associate these colours to the seaside. Now it's more of a point of how I can tie this into imagery.

Swap Stocks for Sips: Toast to Financial Freedom with Cognac

Forget Wall Street wolves and day-trading dramas. The path to financial independence might be nestled not in volatile charts, but in the amber depths of a cognac snifter. Yes, you read that right. This isn't your grandpa's dusty liquor cabinet anymore. Cognac, the storied spirit of France, is quietly evolving into an alternative asset, offering potential returns smoother than the finest eaux-de-vie.
Why Cognac? A Unique Blend of Luxury and Investment:

Limited and Aged: Unlike mass-produced spirits, cognac undergoes a meticulous double distillation process, followed by years of aging in oak barrels. This scarcity fuels value, as vintage releases become collector's items, appreciating over time.
Tangible Asset: Unlike the digital realm of stocks, owning a bottle of cognac offers something tangible you can hold, admire, and savor. It's an investment you can literally taste and share.
Hedge Against Inflation: As inflation erodes the value of cash, luxury goods like cognac tend to retain or even increase in value, acting as a safe haven for your wealth.
Diversification: Adding cognac to your portfolio can diversify your financial assets, mitigating risk and potentially boosting overall returns.
Investing in Cognac: A Sip-by-Sip Guide:
Know Your Brands: The Cognac region boasts prestigious names like Hennessy, Rémy Martin, Martell, and Courvoisier. Research their offerings, understanding their history, production methods, and signature styles.
Mind the Age: Cognac is classified by age, from VS (Very Special) to Extra Old. Older cognacs are rarer and more expensive, offering higher potential returns, but younger ones can be good entry points.
Limited Editions: Special releases and vintage cognacs hold significant value. Consider investing in them, remembering they might require longer holding periods for optimal returns.
Seek Expert Advice: Navigating the cognac investment world can be complex. Consult reputable dealers or auction houses to understand trends, identify undervalued bottles, and secure the best deals.
Beyond the Investment: Savoring the Cognac Lifestyle:

The Ritual of Appreciation: Owning cognac is not just about the monetary value. It's about immersing yourself in the rich tradition and craftsmanship behind each sip. Learn about the terroir, the distillation process, and the art of cognac blending.
Host Exquisite Gatherings: Become the cognac connoisseur among your friends. Organize tasting sessions, pair different cognacs with food, and share your knowledge of this fascinating spirit.
Invest in Experiences: Treat yourself to a trip to the Cognac region of France. Visit vineyards, tour distilleries, and meet the passionate artisans who create this liquid gold.
Disclaimer: Investing in cognac, like any asset class, carries risk. Prices can fluctuate, and there's no guarantee of returns. Do your research, invest responsibly, and remember, moderation is key, both in sipping and investing.
Final Toast:

So, raise a glass to a different kind of financial freedom. One where knowledge, appreciation, and a touch of luxury come together in a crystal snifter. Swap the ticker symbols for terroir, the spreadsheets for swirls of amber, and discover the rewarding world of cognac investing. Remember, life is too short for ordinary drinks, and financial freedom might just taste better with a hint of history, craftsmanship, and a touch of French elegance.
