absolutely fascinating (horrifying) that at age sixteen alone, Dazai and Chuuya:

Went through the entirety of Stormbringer, Chuuya lost his friends, had an existential crisis, was tortured in a lab, used Corruption for the first time; Dazai had a backslide in his mental health, was almost killed by Verlaine, is found to be living in a shipping container

Dazai met Oda a few months later and they eventually became friends

Then Dragon's Head Conflict happens shortly after all this and Chuuya loses MORE friends, they officially become partners, Dazai is promoted and recruits Akutagawa

And then there's not a peep of anything timeline-wise when they're 17

Trying to shop for clothing in women's standardized sizes for the first time in years. Very much a "damn bitch you live like this?" Experience

I know my weight and my measurements and you'd think think that would be enough, given sizing charts. But I know their game. I know their sick demented game. No one is the same hateful number in any two stores

(thankfully I'm just re-buying a coat that I've had since high school and that has finally gotten past the point of reasonable repair, so I have the tag to go by. Women who have to figure out their number in a given shop from scratch, so to speak, are braver than any US Marine)

nah the fandom does acknowledge it’s because of his abyss powers he became like this. they believe it more especially after seeing the effect on chasca etc

YEAH everyone acknowledges he became this way because of the abyss but what i'm talking about is like. his character stories make it sound like he gained some sort of cognitohazard Strife Effect that makes chaos constantly break out around him and i've never seen anyone talk about THAT.

Specifically these lines:

In those three months, the swordswoman taught Tartaglia how to pass through the Abyss unhindered, and more importantly, nurtured the ability to stir up endless havoc from within Ajax's trouble-mongering nature.

Shocked by Ajax's great strength and curious about how he invariably became the eye of a vortex of discord, Pulcinella inducted Ajax into the Fatui under the pretext of meting out punishment, ordering him to start from the bottom and take up the duty of serving the Tsaritsa.

Kind of make it sound like it's not an effect of his personality but rather some sort of passive aura he's exerting.

Of course, the reason no one talks about this could well be because it makes no fucking sense, when his personality itself is already quite sufficient to explain all the fights he gets into.

...Could also easily be a case of me interpreting lore way too literally again lol

They always talk about how a lot of little girls don't get diagnosed with adhd bc it presents differently than how it can in boys and while I 100% believe that, it kinda makes the fact that I had the most absolutely stereotypical adhd behaviour ever as a child and yet they still never clocked it and were just like Hmmmm... idk. I think she's just a little cunt, probably.
