(Also this song is “Triple Dog Dare” by Lucy Dacus for anyone who interested you should go listen rn it is perfection)
My explanation:
The first line being “you’re dancing in the aisle” gives this sense of a strange vulnerability that only Scrooge truly gets to see because he is the only person she’s ever felt comfortable enough around to be able to express this free and youthfully playful self around.
Now for me the line “the radio is singing you a song you know” shows how this persons (in this case Scrooges) world revolves around the other to the extent that even the radio is singing to Goldie because she is the centre of Scrooges world whenever they are together so anything that happens must happen for Goldie (including all of his own actions)
Then the “kid at the counter” represents like how other people interact with Goldie. “Gawking at you’re grace” they are so taken aback by her doing something so simple as dancing to a song why? Because she Glittering Goldie (and I don’t just mean that I’m the sense that at the time she was so well known I mean that why she was so famous was because her performances were hypnotic because she is hypnotic) there’s simply something about her that means people can’t look away and Scrooge knows this more than anyone because yes he’s seen glittering goldie but he’s also seen the woman who worked on his claim for a month straight, who has fought to survive and beat him at his own game time and time again and in doing so she’s given him this insight to a woman many people never imagined even existed.
So yes he knows exactly what “the look on his face” means because everytime he’s with her he feels that he’s blown away by her I mean did you hear how excited he was when Goldie escaped with golden lagoon “isn’t she fantastic” is was said with pure admiration because yes she gets on his tits and he’s grumpy when he first sees her and he’s wary around her because he can’t trust her but ultimately at the core of their relationship he has nothing but respect and admiration for that woman.
Then the song says “it’s not his fault” like of course it’s not Scrooge can’t bring himself to be jealous that other people see Goldie this same way he does because that what she does to a person. You couldn’t tear your eyes away if wanted to but you don’t want to because just look at her.
And Scrooge is sure of how he sees Goldie that while he pretend initially he doesn’t want to see her and that she’s a nuisance he knows this woman but more confidently he knows himself think about the way he spoke to Louie after he returned from doofus drakes birthday party he asks him “crocodiles water works?” “Goldie” “ah” he knows how she makes him feel at each and every turn of their relationship so well that easily recognised it in his nephew when’s upset and calling Goldie’s name that he immediately is understanding
Even though from the very beginning of the episode when he warns Louie against working with her he knows it’s no use because she Goldie she so magnetising of course Louie wants to work with her because he too wants to work with Goldie Scrooge simply likes being around her regardless of how unwilling as he to admit it.
So as Scrooge sees it of course he “looks the same” because that’s what Goldie does to people.
