Here she is!! (Kitster, any pronouns)

My concept for this was Kitster heading to a nice party, so he's got this cute sparkly dress (making it look glittery was so fun!) I hadn't planned on adding a background, but when I found a brush good for lights I got inspired and decided to add some. Her possessed tail (Habiti) has a little top hat, as he's decided to be a gentleman :)

So, I started with a traditional drawing where Kitster was wearing a very different outfit - a croptop with cherries on it and a long wavy skirt - but as I started digitalizing I decided I liked this idea better. I did five different dress designs before choosing this one.

There were a lot of small things that went wrong around the way... Like, that I accidentally drew on the wrong layer a lot, and though I fixed most of it, sometimes I didn't notice until way later that something was on the wrong layer. I also just *cannot* find a good blending tool in this program. It's driving me insane.

I tried a tool for the lighting that worked pretty good, but it took a while to figure out and the vague background lines are uneven. I just got fed up with it and was like "nah. Not doing this." The wall teture wasn't very good either, I wish I hadn't shortchanged it and had just put in the effort for a wood plank or brick wall.

Still, it was super fun to draw and I'm glad to have it finished! I feel like I learned a lot and I'm really excited to start on some new art projects. I want to make some examples for a commissions post in the future. :> I changed Kitster's design a bit while doing this, and I may change it more in the future... I really like how both paws now have one finger that's darker (instead of both paws being lighter) and her face now has a vaguely star shaped pattern in the middle. It fits with her heritage as something not quite from Earth.

Still not sure what to do about Habiti though, I can't decide if I like him better with dark purple fur or dark black, and I've considered making him scaly or oozy instead of furry, but... still undecided. Would love to hear some thoughts on that!
