i actually literally cannot fathom why so many people are always up in arms about not seeing dazai and chuuya for several chapters. i love them and would consider both of them to be in my top favorite bsd characters, but not once since the pov switched back to yokohama have i ever been upset that we're not seeing what's happening with them right now. i don't think it's necessary to go back to them at the moment; they're not the focus right now. it is absolutely baffling to me that so many people are genuinely angry over the pov being with the main character for several chapters in a row. you guys don't care about a good story; you just want fanservice.

More lighthearted one here - I can often guess who sent an anon ask within my (fairly small) community, based on typing styles. I'm autistic and generally have good pattern recognition for language (I ADORE poetry for this reason); however, I've noticed that if I read a lot of someone's writing (scrolling their blog, chatting with them, etc) I end up subconsciously imitating their writing style. So of course I went "uh-oh, what if someone thinks I'm mocking them?" (plausible concern, since this extends to deliberate Homestuck-esque typing quirks, though these I typically notice and edit out while I'm typing), and started deliberately paying attention to people's typing styles to avoid copying. Kind of like that opposite art style meme? If I've been scrolling someone's blog who uses all lowercase for a while, I will make sure to capitalise my next posts, for example.
Anyway, this has led to me noticing the patterns in anon asks. Coupled with content, personality, time of activity etc (also things I notice about the people I interact with most), I can guess with a high feeling of certainty who sent something.
Example: someone sent an anon ask with a blunt question to an acquaintance of mine, who showed me the ask (they considered it a little sus to be on anon for that), and I thought "all lowercase, no punctuation, no contractions, plus the personality - probably [Other mutual]".
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to check that certainty level, since people tend to use anon for a reason and I would never breach their privacy. (Particularly not with speculation that could get people to consider me creepy... double particularly not with, like, the vast majority of anons which are usually at least tangiental to something divisive.) It's frustrating that I can't test my success rate! I could be completely deluding myself here, and would never know!
...Also, if I'm right, I want to show off. :c
Sigh. For what it's worth, I think my own typing quirk is high variability, due to... all the prior factors, as well as (lately) frequent use of "like" and the ellipsis. Semifrequent misuse of "so" and "and" to start sentences, because I'm lazy. Huh, brackets might be a quirk of mine as well.

Some Stanpat for the soul
Ever since Sky High AU I鈥檝e been really itching to draw Patty with some wings, so I did. Consider this tangientally related, I鈥檝e been planning on turning it into a more fully fledged superpower au so I guess this is just the start. Idk how many of y鈥檃ll are familiar w that movie but in my head Stan is the kid who melts into orange goo. If I were Stan I鈥檇 probably melt around the love of my life too

What does your regency wear look like?! I just bought an outfit but I feel like the jacket wasn't right.
Hello! i guess you鈥檙e talking about my spooky cryptid experience where *i* turned out to be the spooky cryptid, in which case it was this really weird hodgepodge of garments i鈥檇 acquired while working in a theatre wardrobe. i probably have a picture somewhere but honestly it isn鈥檛 very nice lol. the jacket is really important to get the look imo, the one i wore is one i made for a production of midsummer night鈥檚 dream i did costume for, which we set as a regency austenesque production in an open air theatre. like most open air theatre things, it was therefore limited insofar as you can鈥檛 really use lovely period-appropriate and expensive materials because they can get ruined quite easily, especially in a play where the actors have scenes where they sleep and roll around on a lawn at night that might be wet, muddy, dewy, or whatever, and also costumes like that can鈥檛 be too thin (i felt AWFUL for the lead actresses who were wearing regency evening dresses with shawls, but shawls that were obviously not enough to keep them comfortable). so yeah it was a tailcoat that was period-appropriate in cut and style but NOT made of a good material, and i don鈥檛 really wear it anymore
the other parts of the costume were, like, a really lovely and accurate late-regency waistcoat and breeches. the waistcoat is a little more on the 1830s-victorian side of things, but the whole thing looks very appropriate when styled with a good period hat and cravat and so on. on that note, the shirt was a basic one i wore in a production set in 1800 where i was a stagehand and therefore had to be onstage in a fun little regency servant costume. the play was about a scientist so i got to handle these cool jars of like pickled frogs and preserved lizards and dead butterflies in bell jars and things! quite tangientally, i also had to set the scene for the dining room after dessert, and there was a big fruit bowl complete with decorative pineapple - and every night i would take an apple or pear or whatever and cut it up and put slices on the cast鈥檚 plates, and i decided to make every place setting look representative of the actor. the scientist guy had eaten everything very orderly, his quite neurotic wife had left hers mostly untouched, their licentious friend had made a bit of a mess and there were bits of apple peel around the plate, and so on!
i get that this is so not about your actual question lol so i apologise! that experience happened like 5 years ago now, when my actual understanding of regency fashion was totally wrong, but now i鈥檓 making myself a proper accurate costume with good materials and processes and stuff. around this time last year i made a linen shirt, and right now i鈥檓 finishing off some breeches, and i鈥檝e almost finished a blue tailcoat to go with it (i had to pause making it to make the breeches so i could tell how the front needs to look to not look awkward), so once i make my waistcoat i should be ready to vibe! the waistcoat won鈥檛 take TOO long either, as the outfit is an 1805 one, when the double-breasted tailcoat was generally buttoned up rather than left open, so the waistcoat doesn鈥檛 need to be super complicated in order to have the right effect. the whole thing is linen, though, which means it will be potentially unwearable in cold weather (sadly no dawn prancings in the woods lol) but the summers down south are often sunny and warm and lovely enough to give you lots of chances to wear them!
