Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE NXT - Fandom, Professional Wrestling Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Indi Hartwell/Dexter Lumis | Samuel Shaw Characters: Indi Hartwell, Dexter Lumis | Samuel Shaw Summary:
What happened when Dexter took Indi to medical after she faked being unconscious in the 8 person tag? Why was she so happy when she showed up to the interview with The Way later?
Had this idea floating around in my brain for a while, decided to get it out. Hope you like it. More InDex stories to come later. Link above or read below:
“Medical”
Indi half-opened her eyes as she bounced slightly with the rhythmic footsteps of the man who was holding her. He was staring straight ahead with a purpose. He turned them effortlessly through a doorway and past the gym. A slight repositioning of her body as their respective sweat caused her skin to be slippery in his arms.
She watched him and fought hard the urge to give up her ruse right now and attempt another kiss. Instead, she became transfixed on his profile. She was struck by how handsome he actually was. Not scary at all like so many people would lead you to believe. She saw warmth and a softness in his blue eyes as they began to dart around in search of something.
A quick spin to allow him to push a door open with his backside and Dexter had carried her all the way to the office of the trainer and medical team. He stood holding her and Indi heard people approaching them. As they got closer for a moment Dexter stepped back slightly.
"Just... um... put her down over here," Indi recognized the voice of the head of the medical team. She cringed a little realizing her ruse had led her to this point. She was being walked over to an open table now. Just as Dexter started to hover her over the table to release her she clenched her grip around his neck tightly.
The action prompted Dexter to look down at her for the first time since he had taken her into his arms. She started to open her mouth to speak and explain but something about his eyes. It rendered her as momentarily mute as he was.
He was cocking his head slightly at her now and she felt she should probably speak. So she cleared her throat a little and stole a glance over at the still awaiting medical staff. She knew she was blushing she could feel it in her face.
"I... um... I'm fine," Indi cringed slightly as the words left her mouth. She watched Dexter's face for a reaction. She didn't get much, just a slight raise of his eyebrows. He took his eyes off her and immediately she craved his gaze. He was looking up at the others in the room with a blank look on his face.
After just a moment he managed to slightly shrug with her still firmly in his arms. The motion making her involuntarily giggle. This got his attention again. His eyes were scanning all over her face. She was sure to most this would be uncomfortable but she was finding herself welcoming it.
She suddenly felt his grip on her loosen and she was being lowered to her feet. She wanted to protest but couldn't bring herself to. He sat her down and stood directly in front of her to make eye contact with her. She snuck a peek down his bare chest and noticed his breathing, she found it to be completely in sync with her own as she moved a hand up to touch his chest.
Before skin could touch skin he backed away from her. Slowly at first, seemingly unsure of her. She inched closer and this only prompted to him withdraw and turn to walk out of the room, leaving her standing there with an outstretched hand and a wounded heart.
"Are you okay?" A voice from behind her barely registered as she purposefully jogged from the room and into the hall.
"Wait," Indi's voice was not loud. No one outside of the immediate area would have heard it. He did though. She watched as Dexter stopped just at the door leading out into the large training area of the Performance Center.
He kept his back to her but turned his head to acknowledge he had heard her. He was denying her the eye contact she craved so she inched closer to him. She could feel her heart racing. If it went any faster she might end up actually needing a medic.
"Don't go..." Indi echoed her earlier sentiment. The sound of her voice causing him to turn more in her direction. Still not fully facing her but his eyes were on her now.
She smiled upon seeing this. She didn't expect him to smile in return of course. She had never seen that. However, he did finish doing the turn and faced her fully now. That was enough. She opened her mouth to speak and his eyes moved down to her lips, effectively derailing her train of thought for a moment.
"I... um..." Indi stammered. She gestured behind her at the room they had just exited. "Thanks... for... you know... bringing me to get checked out..."
His eyes darted past her momentarily and then settled back onto her face.
"Even if you know... I didn't really need it," Indi shrugged. His body language changed again and he started to turn from her.
"Wait..." She took a chance and reached for his hand. This gesture seemed to truly shock him as his eyes widened and he raised their respective hands into his line of sight.
Indi gave his hand a soft squeeze in hopes of getting him to look at her again. It worked.
"Are you upset... I'm sorry that I was pretending to be hurt..." Indi stated. She watched his face for signs of recognition of his words. His expression didn't really change but his head dipped just a little, she took that as a sign he understood what she was saying.
Indi was suddenly keenly aware they were still holding hands and she felt her face flushing again. She ducked her head slightly. She was completely gobsmacked by what happened next.
Dexter's hand was so gently on her chin as it coaxed her to look back up to him. She smiled in response to his action and his demeanor changed. His posture loosened and his own face seemed to be on the verge of a smile.
"I did it because..." Indi took in a big breath in an attempt to spit the next words all out without taking another. "I really like you and I just wanted you to hold me and I thought... hoped maybe you could like me too."
She was searching his face desperately now for even the slightest hint of something. Anything.
He stepped closer to her and Indi genuinely felt like she might faint. She had never felt an adrenaline rush like this moment. Something about Dexter was dangerous, but in every way, you could possibly crave it. He was inches from her face now and his eyes were locked into hers, unmoving.
"Do... do... you?" Indi whispered.
A slight nod and curl in the corner of his mouth might as well have been an outright declaration of undying love for how it made Indi feel. She was beaming now.
"You mean it?" Indi asked, her voice still a whisper.
Another nod.
"What do we do now?" Indi's voice was back to its usual register.
His eyes moved back down to her lips and she understood exactly. She leaned in and their lips made the lightest of touches before the door to the hallway behind them opened, and Dexter stiffened and released her hand.
"Hey Indi... Johnny and Candice are flipping out trying to find you... I think McKenzie is trying to calm them down and talk to them," NXT ring announcer Alicia Taylor spoke from her position in the doorway. She eyed the two for a moment before grinning.
Indi nodded and then glanced up at Dexter. She started to move past him and he gave her hand the gentlest of squeezes prompting her to smile widely as she followed Alicia out.
It didn't take her long to find her family. She just followed the sound of their frantic ranting to McKenzie as she attempted to get a word with them. She composed herself as best she could and made her way up to them. It didn't take long for them to start asking questions, she attempted to answer all of them, but it was all just noise. In her mind, she was still in the hallway waiting for that kiss from Dexter Lumis. One day... one day she would get it.

regretti spagetti
Title: regretti spagetti Author: Shiro (TeitoxAkashi [AO3]/ seijuurouxryuu [tumblr]) Rating: Gen Pairing: Fon/Reborn Event: @khrrarepairweek Prompts: Bar/Restaurant AU | Secret/ Hidden Skillset Tags/Warnings: No Archive Warning
Day 3: Sun Day
From incorrect quote generator:
Reborn: So what’s for dinner?
Fon, staring at the food they just burnt: Regret.
AO3
"What's for dinner, Fon?" Reborn asked from the door as he put away his scarf, midway toeing off his socks. He didn't even finish his words when he smelled burning meat. He paused in his movement, hung the scarf back onto his neck and shuffled into the kitchen where Fon's back was facing him.
He moved closer and peered over his shoulders from his back.
"So... What's that." He deadpanned. Fon didn't even turn to him and said, "Regret."
 .
Fon was fuming still even as he smiled at the waiter taking their order. Reborn would have been jealous if he weren't trying not to make the other person anymore furious than he already was. Their burnt pot had been just disposed, and Fon was angry that Reborn laughed at him.
In Reborn's defense, he had not expected Fon to say regret and he did not have time to hold it in.
Fon immediately stepped on his foot and gave him a silent treatment as they headed out—again for Reborn—for dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Once the waiter left, Reborn reached over and not so discreetly nudged Fon's finger, hooking their pinkies together. "Hey," He softly said. "I'm sorry for laughing. I wasn't laughing at you burning our dinner, you know?"
Fon remained silent, but he hadn't move away his hand as he looked out of the window with a slightly sulky look.
Reborn almost cooed at how cute Fon was being, but he had to hold it in. He had to coax his big baobei first, otherwise he would be sleeping on the couch tonight. He moved closer and nudged him. “Will you forgive me, baobei? I’ll do anything you say. I’ll even get you that Mapo tofu you loved so much.”
That gotten Fon’s attention as he gave Reborn a side squint. Reborn hated that stall’s Mapo tofu, saying that it stank too much and would be there for the whole month. Which is why even though Fon loved it so much, he never eaten it a lot. It was a sacrifice on his part, and Reborn did not appreciate it.
 Fon was going to riot.
Reborn grimaced internally and pushed on. “For a month, no, two. You can eat it as many time as you like.”
 “… Three.”
“… Fine. Anything you want, baobei.”
Fon finally turned around and gave him a smug, content smile. Reborn sighed in exasperation, but it was his fault in the first place so he relented. Besides, he loved how Fon looked so smug like that. He all but wanted to kiss him right there and then.
Just as he was going to give into his urge, the waiter came back with a huge grin. Reborn’s eyebrow twitched as he sat straight and stared expressionlessly as the waiter put down their meals.
“Here’s your steak, tropical fried rice, and chocolate mouse cake.” The cake was placed directly in front of Fon. Reborn’s trigger finger twitched instead.
Fon gave the waiter a confused look. “We didn’t order this cake.”
The waiter, ignorant to how Reborn had killed him in 101 different ways in his mind, winked at Fon and said with a purr. “On the house, my treat. You look like you deserve a treat.”
Fon laughed and nodded his thanks. He seemed to have understood what was going on, but he played along just to see Reborn riled up. He propped his elbows on the table and leaned his chin on his hand, smiling up. “Why, thank you. I had been hoping to eat this cake. I heard from my neighbours it’s the best in town and I thought by this time it’d have had been sold out.”
The waiter nodded, too pleased to have gain Fon’s attention. “It has. This is actually mine; I bought to treat myself for finishing my finals, but when I saw you, I knew I had to give it to you.”
“Oh? Congratulation! And that’s so sweet of you, but I can’t possibly take what you’ve been saving for yourself.”
“No, no. I insist. I really want you to try it. And…”
Before the waiter could continue with his bashful yet blatant flirt right in front of Fon’s murderous husband, Reborn picked up his fork and stabbed right into the cake. Both Fon and the waiter jolted and stare at him incredulously while he cut a giant piece out of the tiny slice of cake and shoved the whole thing into his mouth. And he obscenely moaned.
“It is good.” His voice was muffled around the cake as he chewed. He swallowed and then nodded. “Very good. Just a bit tad too sweet.” The waiter’s smile faltered slightly. Reborn did not stop and pointed at the cake while talking to Fon. “Do you want to try it now?”
Fon opened his mouth to speak, “I—" and ended up getting pulled by the neck towards Reborn and was furiously kissed, tongue pushing against his as he tasted the far too sweet chocolate from the other. He frowned and tried to push Reborn away, but the other wouldn’t let go so they ended up having a full blown make out session right in front of the waiter and other customers in the restaurant.
Turned as red as his favourite sweater, Fon bit Reborn’s tongue harshly. He tasted a little bit of blood as Reborn finally pulled away, both breathless and slightly more bothered than they should be in public.
Wordlessly, Fon socked a punch onto Reborn’s stomach as he huffed, picking up his coat and stomped out of the restaurant with headful of red.
Reborn hissed at the bite, licking his inner mouth at the taste of blood, and the punch. It didn’t hurt all that much since Fon wasn’t even that angry at him. His lips tugged into a feral but thirsty smile as he, too, picked up his coat and chased after Fon.
But not before giving the waiter a middle finger.
 They didn’t even pay.
Reborn would have to pay tonight.

A/N: There is nothing to do with spagetti. Yes its a typo.
hfkdlsjflkdsj I was looking for inspiration for this day and the incorrect quote generator or whatever gave me that. And I took it. :DDDD
Baobei = baby/ babe in Mandarin Chinese :3
Reborn is such a piece of shit. I love him.
RIP Reborn tonight *wink wonk*
RIP the waiter even more but it's his own fault flirting with the wrong person.
AND OMG THEY ARE MARRIED :D
[I apologize for any grammar, spelling, etc. etc. misteaks] yes that is on purpose

Pastoral Advice for the Pandemic from Pope Leo XIII
by Joe Heschmeyer
In 1884, facing major threats to the life and health of the Church and of civil society, Pope Leo XIII wrote Superiore Anno, the second of what would end up being 12 encyclicals that he wrote about the importance of the rosary. He explained in the encyclical. He explained that one of the reasons for the letter was that:
With respect to Italy, it is now most necessary to implore the intercession of the most powerful Virgin through the medium of the Rosary, since a misfortune, and not an imaginary one, is threatening-nay, rather is among us. The Asiatic cholera, having, under God’s will, crossed the boundary within which nature seemed to have confined it, has spread through the crowded shores of a French port, and thence to the neighbouring districts of Italian soil. – To Mary, therefore, we must fly – to her whom rightly and justly the Church entitles the dispenser of saving, aiding, and protecting gifts – that she, graciously hearkening to our prayers, may grant us the help they besought, and drive far from us the unclean plague.
A deadly pandemic was spreading from Asia into Europe, and the pope’s response was to call upon Christians to pray the rosary. And you know what? It worked. Outside of Hamburg, Germany, most of Europe was spared the ravages of the cholera outbreak. What’s more, this cholera outbreak led the physicist Robert Koch to isolate the responsible germ, confirming what’s now known as the “germ theory of disease,” revolutionizing our understanding of disease prevention, and saving untold millions (if not more) of lives.
But Leo recommended the rosary for more than just deliverance from the pandemic:
We have deemed it Our duty to exhort again this year the people of Christendom to persevere in that method and formula of prayer known as the Rosary of Mary, and thereby to merit the powerful patronage of the great Mother of God. In as much as the enemies of Christianity are so stubborn in their aims, its defenders must be equally staunch, especially as the heavenly help and the benefits which are bestowed on us by God are the more usually the fruits of our perseverance. It is good to recall to memory the example of that illustrious widow, Judith – a type of the Blessed Virgin – who curbed the ill-judged impatience of the Jews when they attempted to fix, according to their own judgment, the day appointed by God for the deliverance of His city. The example should also be borne in mind of the Apostles, who awaited the supreme gift promised unto them of the Paraclete, and persevered unanimously in prayer with Mary the Mother of Jesus.
The point he’s making on perseverance is brilliant, but easy to miss. Let’s take the examples in reverse order. After rising from the dead, Jesus charged the Apostles “not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father” (Acts 1:4) and said, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:7-8).
Nine days after He ascends into heaven, this prophecy is fulfilled with the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. These days, we have “novenas,” prayers that you do for a particular cause for 9 days straight, in honor of the Apostles’ waiting. But they didn’t know they were making a novena. For all they knew, it could be 9 years. Not only did they not know how long it would take, they didn’t even have a clear sense of what they were waiting for. They were just praying, along with Mary, for an indefinite time: “All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren” (Acts 1:14).
But what about Leo’s other example? In Judith 7, the evil Holofernes and his men have laid siege to the city of Bethulia, and cut off the water supply. After 34 days, the people want to surrender. The city officials convince them to wait another five days, saying (Judith 7:30-32):
Have courage, my brothers! Let us hold out for five more days; by that time the Lord our God will restore to us his mercy, for he will not forsake us utterly. But if these days pass by, and no help comes for us, I will do what you say.
The numbers here matter. 40 is the perfect number of preparation (think of Noah’s ark, or the Israelites in the desert, or Jesus’ fast before His public ministry), and both the people and the officials are hijacking that. The people want to give up after 34 days, the officials want to give up after 39. But either way, they’re trying to put God on a human timetable. Judith stands up to both groups, and tells them that they’re both in the wrong (Judith 8:11-12):
Listen to me, rulers of the people of Bethulia! What you have said to the people today is not right; you have even sworn and pronounced this oath between God and you, promising to surrender the city to our enemies unless the Lord turns and helps us within so many days. Who are you, that have put God to the test this day, and are setting yourselves up in the place of God among the sons of men?
Instead, she calls them to a radical trust in God (Judith 8:15-17):
For if he does not choose to help us within these five days, he has power to protect us within any time he pleases, or even to destroy us in the presence of our enemies. Do not try to bind the purposes of the Lord our God; for God is not like man, to be threatened, nor like a human being, to be won over by pleading. Therefore, while we wait for his deliverance, let us call upon him to help us, and he will hear our voice, if it pleases him.
This is a truly Marian faith. She’s making a radical yes to God, without knowing the timetable, without knowing the plan, without even knowing if she would escape with her life. She prayed for and hoped for God’s deliverance, but ultimately trusted that His plan was the best one, even if it involved her death. Trust, pray, and wait.
I’m sure that wasn’t a popular message to the thirsty people of Bethulia, fearing for their lives; and I’m sure it wasn’t a popular message to the people reading Leo’s encyclical in 1884; and I’ll wager that it’s not a popular message today. But this is the kind of persevering faith to which God calls us, and it’s the kind of faith that He rewards. So instead of complaining, like the people of Bethulia, let’s take up the spiritual weapons that we have at hand, and place our trust in God.

“To Mary, therefore, we must fly – to her whom rightly and justly the Church entitles the dispenser of saving, aiding, and protecting gifts – that she, graciously hearkening to our prayers, may grant us the help they besought, and drive far from us the unclean plague.”
Did Christ or the Holy Spirit so entitle her?
So Leo XIII is saying Mary “grants” the “help” sought of her in prayer? I thought the doctrine was that Mary intercedes with God the Father or God the Son and They grant the the help that supplicants seek in prayer?
So, why not ask of them directly; that is after all the only injunction that Christ made in regard to our prayers: that we ask of the Father in Christ’s name.
Oh, I forgot, the popes can change all that…sorry. Silly me.
“The Cult of the Virgin”. Isn’t that what they call it?
“Oh, but it’s been our custom, our doctrine for centuries” you say? I suppose the Greeks and Canaanites and the Babylons and the Egyptians said much the same.

Everything I read points me to the Rosary. If I complete a Rosary my day is beautiful and useful.
