why do people equivocate hating rap and hating country like they're at all derived from the same motivations
#op#fucking love rap. agree dismissing all rap out of hand is disingenuous at best and usually just flat out racist#but ive been inundated with too much post-9/11 mainstream country to enjoy the genre much anymore without other genre fusions like lil nas#im just sick to bastard death of the mainstream/current sound from childhood zac brown band poisoning LMAO#i like folk and bluegrass even! especially the older stuff#acting like dismissing country is like Inherently Classist as much so as dismissing rap is racist just strikes me as odd#when people think 'country' they think modern pop country. it's incredibly distanced from the origins#idk im struggling to articulate today.#<- just looked over a bunch of bluegrass/folk/country music readings to make sure i wasnt completely talking out of my ass
