It bleeds into work, and soon he’s wondering if the young men he faces down had childhoods, or if they have a father waiting, and then he cannot quite bear himself to kill as much. It’s when Chuuya and Dazai come home after a mission, too bloody and too bruised for Hirotsu to not immediately start tending to their wounds, that he realizes he’s been too soft. He feels sick about it, but he can’t let them get hurt. Training gets a little harsher, and they learn how to deal with Falling Camellia so quickly that Hirotsu wonders if he was just holding them back.

I have several (and I mean several) concepts that I'm very excited to play around with when I eventually write a fic focused on Comic!Siffrin, but my favorite one - and the one that I'm willing to share rn - is that the party doesn't exist.

Like, the alternate versions of Mirabelle, Isabeau, Odile and Bonnie are all alive, well and unfrozen somewhere Dormont for various plot related reasons, but they never joined a quest to save the Country. In their universe, Mirabelle was never given a blessing, and somehow Siffrin is the lone saviour of Vauguarde.

Frequent combination and decombination accelerates combiner fragmentation. But that doesn't mean that the combiners can stop doing their job. As Decepticon attacks on human cities became more frequent, Defensor is being dispatched more and more for rescue missions and relief work. And that means decombining more often. More often than not, Superion sees his brother's components - the Protectobots, they were dubbed - instead of Defensor himself returning to base. And the few times they do get to see each other as themselves, it's clear that both of them are starting to... erode. Being able to remember less and speaking in shorter, simpler sentences. Some names and faces have already faded from their own memories, the information now sitting in one of their component's own memory banks. With Fenny's symptoms being much more severe. Logically, Superion knows that fragmentation is inevitable, but emotionally? He still struggles to accept it. Not like how his brothers handled it. Back when they learnt about the end result of fragmentation, Com was more interested in the scientific explanation behind the phenomenon of fragmentation, while Fenny seemed at peace with the process. "We gradually fade to give life to more. Our components... our children, if you will, will carry on our missions and legacy. If giving up part of my intelligence and mental capacity means that my children will be able to thrive and discover who they are as individuals, it is a sacrifice I'm willing to make." And Defensor followed through with his ideals. He is staying decombined more and more to give his components more time with each other and themselves. Superion can't bring himself to hate the Protectobots. But Primus be damned if he didn't miss his brother. Damn it, he misses Fenny.

Arguably, this is my first post, I believe?

Anyway, I just dreamt up something I don't wanna forget so I shall share it for either you all to also imagine, but in the way it came in my dream.

So, the first thing I saw was a mermaid/siren child thing just swimming about, she found this kind of glowing orb with shape and went: "Cute! Let's take it!!"

Irrelevant. At the beginning.

Now we change POV, we've got another mermaid/siren but this one is, uh, forgive me, my SVSSS life is always there. This one is SHEN YUAN, of which, is a type of water siren/mermaid, keep that in mind lols.

Shen Yuan, my love, also found an orb, he ate it.

It gave him wind powers. So, now he can freeze stuff!! Relevant. Really, relevant.

Anyways, he told some random siren/mermaid who in response also had one and idk, my dream just went: oppsa, now LQG is dead.

The thing is, for some reason, my dream threw Shen Yuan back in the past before siren/mermaid had one. Qingge is also still a warrior mermaid, so siren/mermaid Qingge is still supposed to help around(?); he helped the siren/mermaid find an orb and gave it. Idk why but it was apparently horrible because A-Yuan went back into the past(without meaning to) and (without meaning to) froze the flower/orb(that was on purpose) along with LQG(that wasn't). So, dead silence, then this creature just bams in and starts tearing mermaids/sirens apart, I think it's some type of mermaid/siren unevolution or them getting infected, like the apocalypse, u know?

Anyway, these mermaids start dropping orbs. The same type A-Yuan put on his goddamn mouth, for reasons, A-Yuan, while he starts swimming away with yelling mermaids, chaos, blood, starts picking this things up. He gave one to someone else, probably relevant idk my dream didn't tell me.

The next is all this bunch of tearing apart walls, swimming up and down in an attempt to get out because, holy moly, the place was fucking infested! A-Yuan climbs this big ass wall like the type that keeps you out of places you ain't supposed to be in, and stills at the top while looking around. Just this bunch of mermaid/sirens jumping off it to escape and he's like: wtf? Anyway, moment.

At the end of it, he shoves some more orbs in his mouth because u know? Just incase.

This is basically it, idk what happened to Qingge, he just froze into a statue and then burst apart, he ain't even one piece anymore:(

But yea, that's my dream.

Meat Marionette #11?

Thinkin about the rogues in this Au, and like, the difference between their relationship with the bats vs this Au. 

 For example, Selina. I’ll admit I take a bit of inspiration from the 2022 movie and mix it with comic depictions along with the different cartoons, which honestly isn’t too different from each other by too much. Now, I don’t think that Catwoman would flirt with this version of Batman, what with his body being a meat puppet that is visibly not human and off putting. There’s also the fact that she would have been an early-ish rogue of his, at least in order of encounters. Which means that she probably encounters the Bat for the first time while Bruce was still getting used to said gifted body, which in turn was probably terrifying. So there’s still a cat and mouse game happening, but it’s more akin to Selina doing her darn best to avoid the Bat no matter what, because to her it isn’t above trying to kill. It’s like seeing a lion where you figure you’re safe at this distance, until it starts moving and you realize that you are definitely not far enough away. 

 Another rogue that I am thinking of is Harvey and Two-Face (Which DC, give Two-Face a proper name :/ he’s his own dude even if they share a body). Harvey was best friends with Bruce, hell they were practically high-school sweethearts in some cases! And Bruce still visits him in Arkham, canonically still talks and interacts with both his friend and TF. Now if anyone is going to notice the changes to Bruce, it’s going to be Harvey. He’s going to be the first to notice how Bruce’s movements are now dangerous and downright predatory, with too much grace even for a dancer or martial artist. There’s something familiar about that movement, and Harvey isn’t an idiot, TF isn’t one either. They know there’s something wrong with Bruce even if he insists he’s fine. In canon Harvey straight up broke down and cried when he found out Bruce was Batman, so I’m wondering what their reaction to this version of the bat would be…

 There’s also rogues like the Riddler and the Joker who are downright obsessed with Batman, but would they still be with this one? I could see Joker slowly becoming obsessed as the creatures continue to thwart him over and over again, but I’m still rotating Riddler. 

 But y’know who would definitely be obsessed with the batclan?

Scarecrow. The man is obsessed with studying fear, with the effects it has and how to cause it. So the bats, who bring terror wherever they go, with something about them continuously tingling at the back of ones’ more instinctive mind that this is something to fear? He would be utterly enthralled, he’d need to know more, he’d need to know Everything. Especially if his fear toxin doesn’t work right on them. After all, how would a gas effect something without lungs? How can you inject something that doesn’t have blood, that’s not quite alive, not in the way that we as humans understand? How can you cause fear of something that has stared into the Tunnels’ heart and lived? Or something like that lol.

Selkie AU

More selkie stuff because I am obsessed and very proud of my worldbuilding with actual words

SO.

These are some physical facts about my selkies:

-Their limbs are dark, Fading to a human-looking skin tone around the elbows and knees. The colors range from purplish, dark gray, darker brown and black, regardless of the color of their pelt as adults (usually a soft, white one after birth).

When diving, blood is shunted away from tissues that are tolerant of low oxygen levels, people think their coloring is a result of necrosis on said tissues over lack of oxygen.

-Their teeth are sharper looking and stronger than a human's, because they will still feed on their raw diet in that shape if needed.

-Their human shape is dependent on their sea shape; bigger pinnipeds will have a bigger human body and reversed, their hair will be a similar shade, etc.

-Depending on the season selkie-folk may develop a layer of bubbler; this will be seen as gaining some weight in their human form, seemingly getting softer on the body parts storing fat. It warms the body since when on seal form the pelt hair provides no insulation. 

When the pelt is off it keeps part of the bubbler and then it does act as insulation when worn as a coat.

Selkies will let their human partner wear their pelt as a coat or blanket when the weather gets too cold. Those are very intimate moments

-The bubbler also functions as an energy reserve so the selkie can draw energy during periods of fasting.

-They have a great sense of hearing underwater, being greatly reduced on land (to basic human hearing).

-Their vision under water is better than a human's, being adapted for sight in dark and murky water. It's also inferior on land.

Under water, the pupils dilate into a full circle and in bright light, the pupils constrict to a slit.

Their eyes also glow when reflecting light at night.

Pinnipeds lack a tear duct so their eyes secret a mucus to protect them. 

Both hearing and vision impairments happen because sound and light waves travel differently through air and water, not because shifting between forms.

-Higher core temperature than humans, but the limbs are colder.

I'm curious about the role the hat plays in your Lord Wander Au. I have questions like "how dies it feel about wander doing evil?" "How does lord wander treat the hat compared to his Canon self?", specifics about how it works, etc. You mentioned in a past post that you have a lot of thoughts about the hat. So when you feel like sharing them, I'm all ears.

my thoughts about the hat are something i've really wanted to get into!! i think how i view the backstory between wander and the hat is relevant enough here (since that's what my 'lots of thoughts' in that post were mainly referring to) so to summarize, without going into too much detail that'd turn it into a whole fic: before meeting the hat, wander was very cowardly and always running away from problems, with the hat being kind of the first time he'd ever done something so big for someone. and helping the hat taught him many things, like the value of helping people and receiving help in return, etc, one of the most important being to roll with the punches, to improvise. it's why he can be so carefree now—it Has saved his life before when he needed it (inflating while he falls in the breakfast), and everything he needs is in there. it's his comfort item!

and its characterization—it serves as basically the same character as wander, something that loves to help others, even if that help might not always be obviously what someone thinks they need at first. you could even argue the fear aspect—it's confident and happy around wander, but its pain tolerance is Low, and put under a little stress it does what whatever you want to try and Avoid more pain, then when it gets Super distressed it completely panics and blows up. because as an object it's completely helpless to do anything else (haha! the word!)

which, getting back to your questions, is really interesting to think about in this context! because, yeah, i do think it would have Feelings regarding wander doing evil, considering it is stated to like helping people, and clearly has Opinions when it comes to people being jerks. i don't think it particularly likes when wander hurts people, no! but then, why does it still help him? does it still help him? even as a villain, i don't see wander as the type to use violence on the hat to get it to give him what he wants. actually, i think their backstory would happen pretty much the same way. wander still saved the hat, and earned its trust over time, while the hat helped wander get around and become less anxious. wander doing Bad Things would happen some time after that.

so i think the hat probably feels indebted to him—he already earned its trust and proved he would keep it safe, he treats it kinder than others before him—and it's not like it could up and leave him, if it wanted. it might give him a bit more snark, maybe, try to convince him out of things. but wander disregards it and continues anyway. there might also be a little Fear there. even if it's one of the few things wander Wouldn't try hurting, what if he did? if wander wants it to Be a certain way, it will have to be, because who knows what might happen to it if it wasn't? which leads to it helping wander with some of the Bad Stuff. it is also swapped with the dombots, after all. i think it also reflects nicely with how lord wander treats his other 'friendships'. he is Stubborn and has ideas on How Things Should Be. he Knows What's Best. i won't get too into That here, there's another ask in my inbox that's related to that, but that's the basic gist of his relationships here and the hat is the one that reflects that—instead of being a mirror of wander's personality, it's a mirror of how he wants other people to be. like how the dombots were completely obedient to her, the way dominator thought friends should be: wander's hat may banter with him, act as a little friend where both of them have helped each other, but it must always in the end be what wander thinks it is, what wander thinks he wants.

since the last post, i've become more endeared to the idea of wander Actually losing the hat at the end of its swapped the bot episode (or at least at Some Point, with that episode being the Beginning of a hat arc. maybe he would lose it in the equivalent my fair hatey?) after spending time with dee. it may not be what wander wants. it may not be what even the hat wants. but it's what they both need.
