thats why... after discovering some creative names for the shipping names in jshk.... and being inspired by the omori fandom... i decided to create some ship names myself yey

and because i like to be creative with things it feels nice lol

Yugi Twins x Yashiro Nene Honestly I thought of naming it YugiNene at first... But then it would be like I was shipping the whole Yugi Family with Nene... And because I was kinda copying someone else's ship name for them, so....

not exactly sure about this one, but the twinnie (stand for twins) is just me shipping the Yugi Twins with Nene, and not with each other.

The reason why I even came up with this ship name in the first place, its because amanenetsuka/hananenetsuka kind of sounds like im shipping the twins with each other too... i'm not saying that everyone who ships hananenetsuka/amanenetsuka ships the twins, i just wanted to try to make it sound like im shipping yugi twins x nene, and not amane x nene x tsukasa. idk im paranoic lol

Yugi Amane | Hanako-kun x Yashiro Nene I once saw someone name the ship something along with "star" or something like that. I was inspired by them. This one was kind of tricky, since we hardly know anything about each of them (yes, even nene), but I thought of naming it...

love free shipping, kraken, duck, (proceeds to name everybot that changed their design to fit the meta) but if the robots arent gonna improve or atleast be entertaining enough after they changed their design, its time for them to go. bots that aren't doing the best after many seasons like tombstone and the such are atleast entertaining to watch (might be biased here but shhh) but these bots mentions and others like them will only be entertaining now if theyre getting beaten up so its time for them to be replaced by those who might have potential and who might be atleast a bit more entertaining.

for the most part, robots that do well in lower weight classes won't translate when their 250 pound robots. the smaller robots are meant for other smaller robots so making a much much bigger version of that robot won't be perfect (except for RIPperoni our favorite drag race winner fr)

- Yeahh i'd have to agree with Kraken, Free Shipping, and Duck. I think destructathon is a perfect place for bots like them. Although tbh i'd love to see some room in the field for new fan-favorite, not amazing bots. Terrortops might fit into that niche, but they might be able to pull off some nice wins as well! - I honestly don't have much of an opinion on bite force since I didn't really get into BB until WCVI, but it'd be really interesting to see it come back and just get its ass kicked. Would also be fun if it returned and was even better, but I don't see it ever happening. I'm just as happy to have my bbg Endgame in the mix. - it's very hit or miss with smaller weight class bots being scaled up. it's honestly fun to see them try, and it's probably a good way to test some new bot designs, but they're definitely not all gonna be winners. I wonder if we'll see starchild back or if they're done. At least it worked with HUGE and Lynx o7 - There's not a total black or white side to the whole Riptide thing but it's basically "yeah they're assholes, which the edit made even worse somehow" imo. I feel so bad for Felix tbh. Maybe I shouldn't be sympathetic to anyone on their team but just from what I saw he seems like a cool dude and they were totally dismissive of him? sooo hmm a big reason why i love it is that it's very literaturey. on that note, i think @pessimisticgh0st, you'd find it cool

like the main characters are based on japanese dead classical authors- japanese because it is set in japan. but then, they battle the white classical authors like louisa may alcott and fitzgerald in a giant flying ship called MOBY DICK, and then they proceed to fight with a small little cluster of russian authors ( fyodor and nikolai)

it's just so silly and lovable but also it's very insightful and dark with representations of many kinds of trauma and war and war trauma

i've had many people tell me that they didn't really care about the start because it seemed like nothing was happening but i swear when you get attached to the characters (which you surely will be to atleast 25% of the cast because they're just all so well written and -like chronic said- fleshed out) you will love the story

like pleaseee i am begging on my knees please watch it. i'm not gonna really go into what the story gives you because i think chronic already covered the generalities of it very well, but what i WILL say is that kafka asagiri (creator) is a genius and the world of bungou stray dogs is like a second home to me.

if you don't believe that asagiri is a genius, let me tell you a tiny bit about how he connected the characters to their irl authors:

1. the anime version of edgar allan poe is lowkey obsessed with the anime version of ranpo edogawa, which is so ironic and funny because irl ranpo idolizes irl poe. also edogawa ranpo is the japanese pronounciation of edgar allan poe. AHZBDJ i will never get over them

oh yeah quick note: the relationships between the characters are all so beautiful and bittersweet and interesting and every single one of them is so loaded with analysing potential it's *dies*

*restarts back up*oh also- i agree that the anime is a good way to get into it, especially if you're not familiar with watching anime, but if you ARE familiar with watching anime and reading manga then i would say that reading the manga gives you a better understanding of the characters, which makes it easier to analyse them. i would still recommend anime first though.

Hey, I've seen you reblogging various things about bsd and I was wondering if you recommend reading it? If so, I was wondering where I could read the manga (preferably online but if I can't do it there, then that's fine).

Hm. I’m not the best person for this because I watched the anime some time ago and haven’t picked it back up since, so I’m going to tag @sleepy-vix in case she can help you out.

That being said, I’ll still give you my input. This will be long.

I don’t read manga that often, and I haven’t read the BSD manga. So in my opinion, I think you should watch around 2-3 episodes of the anime before deciding on reading the manga, since an anime is normally made to promote the manga. Most people end up catching up with the anime before deciding to read the manga because they feel so connected to the story, but I don’t know how you feel about revisiting the same story twice (albeit in a different way). That’s the way I’d do it too, but since you’re most interested in reading the manga, you could look into my first suggestion of watching a few episodes and see what you want to do from there.

That’s how I would recommend doing it. Would I recommend it at all? Yes? I’m not that connected to the story now, but I loved it back then and I think it’s a story you can get obsessed over. It has a plethora of characters, all of which are fleshed-out and worth rooting for despite what side they are on, so you are guaranteed to find an absolute favourite. The world is immersive and the plot is very interesting.

Now for some of my more negative opinions. This probably shouldn’t mean much as someone who hasn’t read the manga, but from what I’ve seen… the story just keeps dragging on? Fake character death after fake character death, random plots that appear from seemingly nowhere (<- again, haven’t read the manga so I could be wrong about this). It is still worth keeping up with, though, because the characters are just so interesting, and I think that’s why the fan base has stuck to it regardless. I also mentioned this to you some time ago, but I’ve moved away from male centric stories because I’ve gotten so tired of having to imagine myself in male spaces. BSD is one of those medias. It has a handful of well-written female characters, but the sheer volume of male characters overshadows them. And, from what I remember, there’s maybe 2 or 3 interactions between two women in the entire series (this definitely could have changed since then). But all of this comes down to personal taste.

BSD is the dark academia anime. Not because of the plot, but because of the general mood and the character design. This makes it even more enticing. However, if you are looking for something that’s more dark academia adjacent, I’d recommend Moriarty the Patriot. Haven’t read the manga for this one either, but the anime is great and is also seen as a dark academia anime.

This one also has a lack of female characters, but as with BSD, it has a lot to offer. It’s a Sherlock retelling from Moriarty’s perspective, but it makes him an anti-hero instead of a villain. It’s almost a love story between Moriarty and Sherlock, except the bucketloads of flirting and chasing after each other aren’t enough to make it canon. Unbelievably queer without actually being queer (and the same could be said for BSD, but this one also contains a basically canon trans character). It contains great murder mysteries and an overarching plot that captivates you. I also don’t think anyone could get over the anime ending. It’s a story about a detective chasing after a villain, but he ends up befriending said villain but isn’t aware of it (the villain, Moriarty, is). Cat and mouse chase ensues.

I’m recommending it because it’s less of a commitment than BSD, and because you seem like you’re finally getting into anime so I thought I’d very politely push my interests onto you. There’s also many other recommendations I’d love to give but this is getting too long.

To sum this up: I am not a hardcore fan anymore, but yes I would recommend the anime, but I can’t say much about the manga because I haven’t read it (in most cases, the manga ends up being better than the anime).

Here is a website I use to read manga, hasn’t given me any viruses yet. Not the best, given that there are ads every second page, so be warned. It’s hard to find good sites for manga, so this is the best I could do. (Vix? Do you have any sites?). For anime, here is my absolute favourite site because it has almost any anime and doesn’t contain many ads. Here is a backup site, but you should definitely use an adblocker for it.

okay so Lyra as you said is my Zelda OC! (And if I ever play DnD, I’d probably adapt her to fit in there) Shes also my oldest OC that’s still around, I made her when i was in 7th grade so about 3(?) years ago. She has a sister but the thing is that OC (Kyra) actually belonged to a friend who moved and we don’t talk much anymore, so idk what to do abt that.

Lyra’s specifically from Skyward Sword, she lives in Skyloft with her older sister, though apparently her parents evaporated or something because i never got to figure them out before my friend moved. She attends the Knight Academy just like Link,Groose, Cawlin, etc, but she hasn’t graduated yet. Her Loftwing is a soft violet/purple and she named it Midnight. By the time the end of Skyward Sword takes place she’d be about 14/15 years old. I assume she and her sister went thejr own way once they finally came down to the surface from Skyloft.

Enough backstory. If i had to put Lyra on an alignment chart I’d say she’d probably be Chaotic Neutral or True Neutral-maybe Chaotic good. She’s usually pretty snarky and tends to be cold or rude to people, and unlike Carter even if she does end up trusting you she’ll still be a butt. She usually always has some smart-assed remark and sarcasm seems to be her favorite way to reply. She loves to joke around though, and I’ll just say she’d probably get along with Sans and Carter- God forbid they meet and if they do save us all from the puns. At times she’ll be a coward, but at others she’ll fight and won’t stand down, and when she believes in something she will not let it go. Her weapons of choice are knives, and a bow and arrow. She’s a a thief, though houses or banks aren’t her thing. She’ll go after shops a but but Dungeons, Temples, etc are her favorite, partly becauss they hold the beat treasure but also because they’re the most fun, full of puzzles and mysteries. Actually thats how she discovered her bow, from one of the first dungeons she raided. She and Link arent exactly on the best terms, considering that they essentially do the same thing but for Link its okay because he’s the “Hero”,and i wouldnt be shocked if they ran into eachother atleast once or twice on their travels.

I tend to ignore the timeline, so noncanonly she’s sailed with Linebeck and later Tetra and her crew at some point, buy those arent actually part of her story.

Birthday

I used to love celebrating birthdays. The cakes, presents, i loved everything about it. I loved it so much tht id plan how my birthdays will go. Like I'd get a surprise or smthg or some presents. Its such a nice feeling, even when ppl simply wish me on my birthday I'd be so grateful. My father on the other hand, was always like, meh. He says tht birthdays aren't meant to be celebrated, cos it just means ur a year closer to ur death. Gloomy ikr hahah. He doesn't care abt birthdays. But, for his family's sake, he kinda celebrates it. Usually we'll just have a birthday dinner or eat some cake, and when i was younger he used to get me some kind of present. I appreciated his efforts but to me, it was abit disappointing hahah. I dont mean to sound like a prick but cmon man atleast get me smthg i want/like. Apart from that, I hate being the asshole that reminds his friends when his birthday is coming around. So as such, i dont think many ppl know when it is anw. So being the egoistic (or normal) teen i was, I'd simply keep quiet abt it (like wht a normal person would do, right?) and keep making up things in my head on how everyone's gonna surprise me or smthg haha (stupid, i know). But every year, im always disappointed. Alot of people forgot, most didnt even know. There are some who did, and till today i still remember them :') So i realized, i actually dread my birthday, because i know, one way or another im gonna get disappointed. Imagine, a girl says she loves you, yet she didnt even wish you for your birthday, let alone know that it was actually your birthday! That shit stung so bad bruh. So as you can imagine, after all those years of disappointments, i hated my birthday. Because not once did it go alright. My best birthday celebration however, was actually my 20th. I was away during my internship, and i knew no one was gonna say/wish me cos let's face it, i was on a ship with a bunch of strangers who couldn't even care less. I knew my family would wish me and all but thts kind of a given hahaha (geez i sound like a dick). So anway, my day was almost over, and thats when the surprise came. There was this huge ass cake, with my name on it, during dinner. I was shocked and totally surprised, but it did feel kinda nice. But the best part was yet to come. The cake was actually totally burnt on the inside, and was as hard as a rock. Only the icing was edible HAHAHA. Everyone took one bite of it(including me) and we all spat it out hahahahaha it was DISGUSTING. But till today, i still consider it as my most memorable birthday. So im sure by now you're wondering why the heck am i suddenly talking about my birthday. Im getting there haha. See, i met this girl (yess typical i know so cliche stfu pls) and well she kinda idk, made a threat using these exact words 'next yr ur birthday you watch out' cos of how i surprised her for her birthday. And, it sort of made me feel like, all hoping and shit. And suddenly, i was kinda looking forward to it. Because it had me feel like, wow someone other than my family might want to celebrate my birthday with me, or like atleast do something. Someone i really care about (other than my family ofcos). Yes i know i sound pathetic as hell rn hahah but it got me thinking, what if... What if it was all just words. What if she was just being polite? Maybe she didnt know how to respond so that's what she said? And i immediately started over thinking (again) and i somehow felt like, well maybe nothing might even happen. It never did, so why would it? So now the shitty part comes in. We talk and everything, and that hopefulness kept on growing. Its like i foresee a birtday date or smthg cliche as tht happening, and all those stupid thoughts which i used to have were coming back. But like i said, my birthday is crap. Suddenly, we start to drift. And i dont even know why. We stop talking, she stopped replying, and even if she did, it was like a short convo and thats it. I mean, im not mad or anything, but i guess you could agree I'd be kinda sad. And now, those stupid thoughts are going away, and I have this strong feeling that my birthday wont disappoint me again, because i already know its gonna be the same, the way its always been 😊
