I only recently got into daiya and I'm SO in love with frmb!!! I love the slow building of friendship, trust, and the snippets we get of other relationships. It makes the characters feel like such whole people. Plus, as a baseball fan and specifically a Mariners fan, the behind-the-scenes of baseball are delightful to read. I just really need you to know this! I just read your new piece on ao3 about Miyuki conking reader over the head with a baseball and I'm now SO excited for that too! Did not think I could be more in love with Miyuki but you are really putting in the WORK. Thank you!!!

First ship: Third Doctor/Delgado Master from classic Doctor Who. My mum was involved in the convention scene back then so I grew up surrounded by it and we had a massive wall of every story that had been released on DVD. I hope they all made the move with us. I remember being a young kid and her bringing down a boxset with the faces of the first 7 Doctors; I'd point to one of them and she'd pick us an episode of theirs for us to watch. (Simpler times but not really)

Last song: Currently listening to Hell As Well by We Three, a band I found through @frostysfrenzy. My best songs playlist has 140 songs if you want to know my music taste without being overwhelmed.

Last movie: The Road. I saw a meme that had been made for it on here and remembered it being an excellent book, so gave it a shot. It was better in book form unfortunately. I remember it was the first time I'd seen the sentence structure of 'this happened and this happened and this happened' outside of "bad" or "childish" writing. How it was used to successfully show someone's declining mental and physical state has stuck with me.

Currently watching: Rewatching Being Human (US version) and Firefly. Trying not to let unpleasant people being involved (Mark Pellegrino and Joss Whedon respectively) ruin things I've long-term loved. So I'll engage as long as I'm not providing them financial/social/political influence to harm others. Yes, I am looking at people who still pay for Harry Potter merch.

Currently reading: Here, have a google drive full of SG1 and SGA books. I can't remember which blog linked it originally, but I'm on book 6 of the SGA Legacy series, which is basically the plot of season 6 if they'd been renewed. (Though I do side-eye some things in there, like Sheppard instantly getting together with Teyla and there being a hint to Keller being abusive in her relationship with Rodney. I don't think they would have done the former on TV as even though Teyla isn't military she's still under Sheppard's command so it would reflect poorly on the real life US military - which is the only reason O'Neill and Carter didn't get together properly, if I'm remembering right? The latter... I've seen too much of Keller bashing in fandom. I don't need it in my "official" content too.)

Currently eating: I just finished some garlic and chilly chicken drumsticks and rice. I've been eating good since my boyfriend got into cooking. 😁

Currently craving: Hmm... I think I'm good. Full of food and an extra of my ADHD meds because I'm running on night-mode currently, meaning I'd be going to bed around 6-7am except I need a doctor's appointment so I'm gonna have to stay up and tough it out. Took it at 11pm so should have worn off enough for me to sleep after my appointment. (While the able-to-focus effect only last 8 hours, the you-will-stay-awake part persists for 12. 🙄)

AEW Collision 4/20/24

Nigel on Copeland winning the TNT Championship. "If at first you don't succeed, try again and again and again and again until you are finally able to steal what is rightfully someone else's." Lmao.

Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe, and Eddie Kingston vs. Top Flight and Action Andretti -- Some nice exploder suplexes by Mark. Flippy stuff from Top Flight and Andretti. Dumb spot with all six guys colliding with lariats at the same time. Copeland with an impaler DDT. Mark with a Jay Driller on Darius. Backfist by Eddie, spear by Copeland, Froggy Bow by Mark on Dante, then Eddie covers Dante for the pinfall.

I honestly didn't like this at all. Technically, it was fine. But everyone was in the ring at the same time for a lot of the match, and that bothers me a lot more when the action is lackluster or not my taste like this. Rating: 2.5

House of Black show up on the screen after the match. Matthews says HOB will eradicate all their dreams at Dynasty. Black says HOB will dig so deep that they will feel like they are close to hell. And for people like himself and Copeland, hell is where the heart is.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs. CJ Esparza -- Hobbs squshes Esparza with slams on the apron and a torture rack. The ref stops the match. Rating: SQUASH

Callis on the mic. He says he was directly responsible for Omega winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. He says he was also responsible for the biggest match in the history of Japanese wrestling, Jericho/Omega at the Tokyo Dome in 2018, which set New Japan on a course to new heights and success, which they still enjoy to this day. He says when New Japan thanked him for this, he said he would need a favor in return one day. And he has cashed in all his favors to make Moxley vs. Hobbs next week a match the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. That is so stupid. Hate that.

Jericho promo backstage. He apologizes for his conduct on Wednesday and for pushing Taz. He mentions his match with Hook for the FTW Championship at Dynasty. He says the Learning Tree is going to teach Hook one of the hardest lessons he will have to learn. A lesson in humility and losing something that means a lot to you.

The Gunns vs. The Acclaimed -- The Gunns try to leave, but Schiavone tells them that TK said they won't get their match at Dynasty tomorrow if they walk out tonight. Awkward. The Acclaimed jump them and land Scissor Me Timbers early on. Bowens with some nice rolling elbows, a fireman's carry neckbreaker on the knee, then a running knee on Colten for two. Colten lands a Fameasser on Bowens for two. The Gunns land a neckbreaker on Bowens for two. Caster tags in with a DVD on Colten. The Gunns land 3:10 to Yuma on Bowens, but Caster breaks up the pin with an elbow off the top. Colten rolls Bowens up and Jay hands him the bat and holds on for leverage for the pinfall.

This was a perfectly fine match. A lot better than I expected it to be, but still not really exciting in any way. Good, screwy finish. Rating: 3

Danielson interview backstage. He is asked about the Bunkhouse Brawl tonight and the match with Ospreay tomorrow. He says that sounds like a lot, but he feels alive. It seems like something is going on with the Don Callis Family. He wonders if Callis doesn't have quite as much faith in Ospreay as he says he does. He feels alive, because Takeshita dropped him on his head Wednesday, and tonight he gets to get revenge in a bunkhouse match. And tomorrow he gets to test himself against Ospreay, who calls himself one of the best in the world, and he gets to find out for himself. Ospreay comes in and tells Danielson that he has had nothing to do with any of the things the rest of the Callis Family has been doing. He says he wants Danielson at 100% for their match. Danielson says right. Ospreay says come on, Danielson has to believe him.

Excellent promo by Danielson as usual. Love to hear that man talk.

Toni Storm promo from Wednesday after Thunder Rosa's attack is shown. She wants to leave this in full color, so everyone can see exactly what Rosa has done to her. Rosa wants to be a hero? Wants to be a martyr? Wants to rally up the troops? There is nothing more disgusting than a wrestler who says they are not selfish. This is a business, this is not a charity. If Rosa wanted to uplift women, she should have stayed a social worker. Rosa doesn't want this title because she used to hold it. She wants it because of everything Storm made this title be, when Rosa could not. Rosa basks in the glow of the sun that shines right out of her ass. Rosa wants to drag her soul to hell? Rosa better check the address, sweetheart, because hell is in her bedroom and she makes love to her demons every night, and at Dynasty, Rosa can just watch.

Holy SHIT, what a promo. I am legit losing my mind over this. Hilarious, but serious at the same time. Legendary, career-defining promo.

Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher (Bunkhouse Brawl) -- Fletcher and Takeshita jump Danielson and Claudio during their entrance. Claudio runs down the arena stairs with a lariat to Fletcher! Danielson slams Fletcher's head into the announce table! Takeshita takes a hammer to Claudio! Danielson wraps a cord around Fletcher's neck! Claudio swings Takeshita into a dropkick by Danielsion! Claudio locks in a Sharpshooter on Takeshita. Fletcher hurls a chair at Danielson's head, then lands something on Claudio inside. Fletcher with a thrust kick and a powerbomb on Claudio for two! Danielson is busted open, and Takeshita takes his fingers to the open wound. Fletcher nails Claudio with a hammer repeatedly. Fletcher hurls a chair at Claudio. Danielson and Takeshita trade elbows inside, Takeshita gets the best of it, sending Danielson outside. Takeshita goes for a brainbuster on the ramp again, but Danielson reverses into a DDT on the ramp! Claudio takes the hammer to Fletcher, then hurls him into the barricade, then slams his head into the steps repeatedly! Now Fletcher is bleeding. Claudio drapes Takeshita over the rope and holds him while Danielson lands a knee off the top to the back of his head/neck. Round kicks from Danielson to Takeshita, then a big round kick to the head! Danielson sets up for the Busaiku knee, but Fletcher grabs his foot from outside, and Takeshita lands a Helluva kick! Takeshita lands a German suplex on Claudio. Stereo brainbusters by Fletcher and Takeshita, then double covers for two. Takeshita goes for a rolling elbow with a steel chain around his arm, but Danielson blocks.

Double rear naked chokes, then stereo hammer and anvil elbows by Claudio and Danielson, then they transition into stereo LeBell locks! Hobbs comes in with spinebusters! Moxley comes out bald as hell to even the odds and take out Hobbs. Fletcher hands Danielson to Takeshita on the top, and Takeshita goes for a powerbomb onto a chair, but Danielson reverses into a rana off the top on Takeshita, sending him back-first onto a chair!!!! Geez! Claudio lands uppercuts and a lariat on Fletcher with a chain wrapped around his arm!! Claudio lands a senton off the apron on Takeshita outside! Danielson lands the Busaiku knee and locks in the LeBell lock with the chain around Fletcher's face for the submission!

That slapped!!!!!! Nonstop, violent action!! Perfect mix of outside-the-ring brawling, weapon spots, and inside-the-ring wrestling. I loved it all. Rating: 4

Danielson grabs a mic after the match. He says a lot of people are asking him why the hell he is doing a bunkhouse match the night before he wrestles Ospreay. It's because when some people think of heaven, they think of streets of gold, but that's not him. His spirit is a part of this. When he dies, his heaven will be standing in this ring, bleeding in front of all these people, having a whole crew of people trying to break his neck before he wrestles one of the best in the world, and telling them there's no way they can do it!! "Tomorrow, Will Ospreay, I am going to beat your ass." HELL YEAH!!!! There is nothing like a fired up Danielson promo. Cannot wait for this match!

Willow and Statlander promo backstage with Stokely. Statlander says you know what they are? Fired up. Fired up is long for FU. Stokely says where he comes from, FU means something different, so he will say FU to Brody and Julia. Willow asks if a confident champion takes a chain and hits their opponent days before a championship match? She doesn't think so. Willow says she is going to lift Julia up and powerbomb her through that mat. Because tomorrow, she's taking the TBS Championship, you bitch! Lol, this was good.

Skye Blue vs. Leyla Hirsch -- Hirsch reverses a Code Blue attempt into a running knee strike. Blue lands a hanging neckbreaker off the apron. Big elbows by Hirsch, then Blue with one of her own. Blue cartwheels into an elbow in the corner. Hirsch lands two nice suplexes, then a German suplex off the top! Hirsch goes to the top and falls. Blue lands a fireman's carry neckbreaker, then locks in a dragon sleeper for the submission. Short match, but solid action. Rating: 2.75

Kazuchika Okada and The Young Bucks vs. Pac and FTR -- Okada's arm hits the announce table early on. Okada and Dax trade uppercuts and elbows! Pac locks in the Brutalizer on Okada, but the Bucks break it up with stomps. Pac slams Okada's head into the apron and stomps on his throat on the floor!!! Nice!!! Okada and Matt pull Cash crotch-first into the ring post. Okada lands a slingshot senton over the ropes on Cash inside. Pac runs the ropes and lands a beautiful flying elbow, then a series of hard kicks, then a brainbuster on Nick for two! Pac lands a quick German suplex on Okada, then dives over the ropes onto the Bucks outside. Dax and Pac land an assisted spike piledriver on Okada for two! The Bucks stop a Black Arrow attempt by Pac, and Okada nails Pac with a big boot. Okada holds the ref, while the Bucks shove Pac into the ring steps and pummel him outside on the floor. They roll Pac inside, and Okada lands a nice flapjack. Pac with a vicious tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Nick! Beautiful!!! Dax comes in with big jabs, a lariat, and nasty chops to Nick! Dax slingshots Nick off the ropes into Pac's hands, and Pac lands a German suplex, then Cash flies in with a jacknife on Nick for two! Nice sequence!!!! Dax ducks a superkick by Matt, Matt kicks Nick instead, Dax lands a DDT on Matt, then Okada comes in with a DDT on Dax!

Okada tells Dax to hit him!! Dax responds with vicious elbows to the jaw and chops to the chest! Okada dropkicks Dax! Dax ducks a Rainmaker attempt and locks in a Sharpshooter, but the Bucks break it up with superkicks!! Triple team running back elbow and double enziguris in the corner by Okada and the Bucks! Okada lands a neckbreaker on the knee, Nick lands a running knee strike, and Matt lands an elbow off the top on Dax and covers, but Cash breaks up the pin! Dax lands a superplex, Cash lands a frog splash off the top, and Pac lands a 450 off the top on Matt! Cash covers, but the others break up the pin! Superkicks by the Bucks, then they land Shatter Matchine on Pac for two! The Bucks land a BTE Trigger on Pac, but Cash breaks up the pin! FTR land Shatter Machine on Matt, but Okada and Nick pull Dax out of the ring. Superkick by Nick, and DDT on the floor by Okada!! Cash with a topé to the outside! Pac lands the Black Arrow on Matt inside for the pinfall!!

This was a really great match. Constant action from start to finish. I loved the exchanges between Okada and Pac, and cannot wait for their match at Dynasty. But I also loved the exchanges between Okada and Dax! What a nice, unexpected treat. Rating: 4

Okada and the Bucks try to attack Pac and FTR after the match. Daniel Garcia comes out to help Pac and FTR. Pac jumps on Okada's back with a hanging Brutalizer!! Okada drops to the mat, and Pac holds on until the Bucks pull Okada out of the ring! Pac and Okada stare at each other, Pac in the ring and Okada on the ramp!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS MATCH!!! AAAAHHH!!

Who is your favourite character in 2? Eugene! You know when people are like I STAN? Okay well there is only 1 character I will ever say that about and it is Eugene “Flynn Rider” Fitzherbet, I LOVE him

Who is your least favourite character in 1? Rose tbh, I know, hot take but she was always my least favourite. Clara’s a close second but she got a LOT better with 12 and I LOVED her send off so much TT_TT

What is your favourite episode of 4? I’m only like. 6 episodes in but if definitely has to be “Anne Theft Auto”, it made me laugh the most and I quite liked how they transferred car logic to the giant bugs the frogs use as vehicles!

What is your favourite season of 5? Season 1, I think! It has my favourite episodes in it and that’s literally the only reason why

Who is your favourite couple in 3? This is a HARD ONE because Garnet is GR8 but I love Steven and Connie and Rose/Greg is super sweet, especially after learning Greg’s backstory in SU Future and also, Pearl/Bismuth came outta NOWHERE and I LOVE IT! The Bismuth Casual episode? OH LORD!

The Doctor really acting alien when he stops himself from being poisoned? HELL YEAH! The more alien the Doctor is in an episode the more I love it--probably why I love Ten’s run so much!

What is your favourite episode of 5? The Golden Lagoon of White Agony Plains! I love Goldie and Scrooge soo much and seeing how Goldie played them all? EXCELLENT! Their love story? SUPERB!

What is your favourite season of 2? Ouuu that’s an excellent question! I think season 2! I loved the travelling caravan and how much world we got to see and the shenanigans :D

How long have you watched 1? Since 2014 or 2015! I started watching just after Twelve’s first series! So 2014, and I spent 2013/2014 marathoning it because I saw some gifs of Twelve and went “that’s my Doctor” and HAD to get to him (and I did and he is very much My Doctor. Do they still do that? The who was ur first doctor and who was ur doctor as in Your Doctor? Because if so, Ten was my first but Twelve was MY Doctor)

How did you become interested in 3? Saw a few clips and gifs on my dash when it first came out, as well as a trailer just before that! Marathoned the first 20ish episodes (bc that’s all that were out at the time!) during my summer at home and the rest is history!

I wanna say Missy and Twelve but I don;t think they’re unlikely but strangely okay, I think they’re EXCELLENT and were CLOSE before Missy’s past literally stabbed her in the back! Mickey and Martha! There’s an unlikely but okay match! When I watched that scene in Ten’s v last episode I was like “Oh! Wow! Unlikely but strangely, okay! I dig it!” They both deserved better! Seriously don’t get me STARTED on the way they were treated, ESPECIALLY Martha, I’m super mad about it bc I recently rewatched Series 3 and OH LAWD, RTD MAY CATCH THESE F I S T S 

Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5? OH MY GOD WHY WOULD YOU ASK ME THIS! Ducktales has had lovely season to season storylines, all very well done, but Steven Universe had an overarching storyline that was wrapped nicely and then given a VERY CATHARTIC END IN SU FUTURE! So I’m going to have to go with Steven Universe, sorry Ducktales Lads

Which has better theme music, 2 or 4?

Amphibia for sure. I love the intro, it’s a lovely instrumental! I love the way RTA/TTS did the score and such, but Amphibia’s intro is NICE

It was September 30th: day one, week one. 

I cycled across Bristol that Monday morning with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. I am not a seasoned city cyclist, so crossing the leviathan of roadworks at rush-hour was my first test.

Although we’d all met the week before at a social event organised by DevelopMe (a brilliant idea because I was less nervous having already met some of my fellow classmates) the room was very quiet and you could feel the tension of 12 career-changers psyching themselves up for what was ahead. 

Our teacher for the week was Keir, whose enthusiasm and sense of humour made us all feel relaxed and at home very quickly.

We started with a brief introduction to the internet. 

Now, I knew that the internet was not contained in a small black box à la the IT Crowd, but I had never really considered its complexity: a global network of computers that can communicate with one another at sub-second speeds is something that takes a while to get your head around.  

Although the fundamentals of the internet are fairly easy to digest, thinking about it too much at this point in my understanding is like thinking about the expanding universe - enough to make my brain explode and ooze out of my ears. So, we’re gonna leave that one for another day.

In the meantime, let’s talk about HTML and CSS, our topics for the first fortnight. This post will be an overview of what we learnt, I’ll get into the details in separate posts later on. 

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)

The phrase that has stuck in my mind from our first week at bootcamp is ‘Progressive Enhancement and Graceful Degradation’ - which sounds suspiciously like a general life lesson, or an advert for a skincare range. For our purposes, it’s a way of making sure that every user can access the fundamental parts of your website no matter what browser they use or how slow their internet connection.

The first few days concentrated on writing HTML, which contains the important ‘content’ of the webpage. CSS is used to make it look good and also deals with accessibility. We’ll get into Javascript later, but that allows user interactivity. All three together constitute Front End development. My beginners understanding of this is that a Front End specialist works on the client-side stuff you see and interact with - whilst a Back End specialist works on the server-side stuff you don’t. A Full Stack developer does both.

In terms of HTML, you can split your code up like a human body: at the top is a <head> tag wherein you store all the metadata. Just like a human head, you can’t see what’s going on in there on the webpage itself, but it contains important behind-the-scenes information. The part of the page you see online is the <body> and you can dress this up however you want using CSS. 

Within the body you’ll probably have a <header>, a <main> and a <footer>, which are fairly self-explanatory ways to break up a page. A lot of this stuff comes from traditional methods in printing, so if you imagine your page layout a bit like a newspaper, then considering how to split it up seems logical: for instance, you’ll probably further divide your page up into articles, sections and asides.

Within these sections you’ll have tags for various elements like paragraphs <p>, images <img/>, links <a>, headings <h1>, <h2>, buttons <button> and so on: again, it’s all wonderfully logical. Here’s some I wrote earlier - this is just part of the <header> on my home page: 

The above example is also styled and for the majority of the first fortnight of bootcamp we got to grips with CSS. 

CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)

CSS is a little trickier, mainly because there are SO MANY THINGS and you have to think about accessibility and responsiveness (i.e how a screen-reader will understand your code and what it will look like on desktop and mobile devices - this requires the use of @media queries, which I’ve grown to really like because it is SO satisfying when they work properly).

Potentially one of the biggest challenges I found in CSS was positioning things evenly. When you start fiddling about with margins and padding, and forgetting what you’ve fiddled with, you start seeing issues arising on the page: maybe it’s an <h2> that just won’t align with the image underneath; or maybe it’s a <nav> bar that is squishing all the menu items too close together, and pushing them all a little off-centre.

Now, I’m mildly neurotic when it comes to visuals. I’m trained in visual analysis and I’ve spent the best part of the last decade explaining the composition of paintings and other images - why they have a central focal point, or why they don’t etc. etc. Positioning stuff correctly and with meaning is important to me.

So I became particularly enamoured with flexbox and CSS grid (and not just because I enjoyed playing Flexbox Froggy and Grid Garden). These do a large percentage of the positioning legwork for you and I found myself using them a lot for the project work that we did in the second week.

Week 2: More CSS and SASS

In week 2 we worked on a sample project.

The brief was to practice our HTML and CSS skills by building a pretend portfolio site for a commercial photographer. Our teacher this week was Ruth, who was also super cool and put us all at ease instantly.

The project consisted of a home page with a grid of featured photos and a nav that turned into a burger menu when reduced to a small screen. We also had to create a gallery page, a blog page (and a sample page for one blog post) and a contact page (to practice HTML forms). 

One of the main focuses of week 2 was using SASS to organise our code so that we didn’t have to repeat ourselves throughout the site.

At first I didn’t get on with SASS (it felt complicated). But being a fan of flexboxes, I spent some time creating a mixin that I was particularly proud of so that I didn’t have to create new flexboxes all the time (a mixin is like a function that can be reused by passing values into the variables - in this case, $justify, $align and $flexDirection):

Turns out SASS is super useful. 

And being a bit of a neat freak, I enjoyed putting all my code into separate files and tidying everything up.

Every Friday, we have an individual review with one of the course organisers so that we can discuss how we are getting on. Both weeks I mentioned that I was tired, but in a good way! I was getting great feedback from my teachers too.

So far, so good. 

Downtime

Learning new information day after day is super tiring and it’s important to have a break at the weekends. 

So I’ve been kind to myself and made sure I get out into nature on Saturdays and Sundays and away from my desk. The temptation just to work through is there all the time - I love what I’m doing, so it doesn’t feel like work and I have to drag myself away from it in the evenings and at weekends. This can only be a good thing though, right?! 

The entire cohort are so friendly and everyone gets on really well. A few of us finished the first fortnight with a celebratory drink at Bocabar.

Lo/st Boys, Darl/ings and Pe/ter P/an in CC.

I’m finding the lo/st boys and Pe/ter P/an references over Halloween so interesting, especially in light of today’s dedication to W, because it feels like something both D&C enjoy alluding to so I thought I’d have a go.

This is my opinion and really obnoxious in places, so if that’s something you dislike please ignore. I won’t be responding to hate about it. I wrote this for me to put my thoughts down somewhere.

I��m going to place it under the cut because it’s a long post.

Both D & C love Dis/ney. That’s beyond argument. We know C particularly loves the character of PP. He wrote an episode that allowed him to play PP along with the sweetest of Kla/ine scenes. We all know D’s nickname on set was Tinker/bell (Naya said that) and D himself plays along with PP (LBL song) and Tink/erbell references. Both seem to have fun with this theme.

On a side note I found an interesting interview with C on writing that PP episode in S.5. The interviewer jokes about D&C having recently met old ladies who were stars. C says he’s met more than D and is ‘WINNING’ (grinning at the interviewer) after he says it. 3 seasons after Du/blin and it appears both are still clearly competitive!

Back to my main points though.So C/hris is Michael Darling this year (nice tin/kerbell addition) C 🙂. Especially if D couldn’t be there.

For those who don’t know the character, Michael is youngest of the Darling Family. A character we know D knows very well, based on his watch (below) which has the Darling family on it and D wore for years.  Clearly D can’t plead ignorance of the character.

C also seemed to be signalling Michael as a theme for Halloween earlier) if you recall his Michael M/yers post).

Now C didn’t have to chose Michael Darling, he could have chosen an actual lost boy. Instead he chose the Michael. The interesting thing about Michael’s character is his status as a LB is temporary and he eventually returns to to the Darlings, his ‘real’ family.

Then we have today’s dedication or ‘squirrel friend part 2’ as @ajw720 referred to it.

W has been cleary ‘tagged’ by C as a lost boy in today’s unromantic b’day message. No love, just hugs, cake and presents.

Even if C was PP to W’s lost boy here, it’s still not romatic. The lost boys don’t stay with PP forever, they grow up and have to leave Neverland (usually banished by PP himself).

Add that to C being Michael Darling this year and that characters temporary ‘lost boy’ status I think C is signalling that he and W won’t be part of the same narrative forever and he’ll be returning to his real family and W will disappear form the scene.

If I was feeling really obnoxious I’d add the words to D’s song ‘darling I don’t mind’ which @cassie1022 pointed out. This Halloween C is clearly signalling his status as a darling possibly D’s darling in this. Add to this that C’s costume aligns itself with Ash again (she’s a darling therefore family) and not W, there isno couple costume for the 2nd year running.  It really doesn’t bode well for C/hill right now. I think C’s dedication and choice of costume says a lot this year.

Side note- C also refers to the Lost boys in t/los. They are described as badly behaved, and at one point are looked after by Red and they remind Red that she should go save her prince herself. This gives her courage to look for charlie/froggy.

Now for D and the song LBL.

We know D said he wrote LBL with Ch/uck and it supposedly references the 90s vampire film of the same name. Quote from D ‘Yeah, people forget – they’re like, "Oh, Peter Pan." And we’re like, "No, vampires."

Now D has lied before and I suspect D may have wanted to deflect people from linking LBL to CC, because that song has CC over it, but in a weird way the film works for this Halloween too and in a fun way.

One of the main characters in the film is called Michael (the older brother who gets bitten) and he never becomes a full lost boy. The vampire hunters are the ‘Frog’ Brothers’ (which my t/los knowledge made me smile at). 

 At the end of this film the Head Vampire gets killed by the grandpa and it leads to my favorite bit of the film. When the grandpa says. ‘One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach: all the damn vampires", revealing he knew about the vampire situation for the entirety of the film. Something wrong that was in plain sight if anyone took the time to look. I can see both D&C liking that analogy too.

I think there are more connections not mentioned, but I do think C excelled himself this year. This was well played and I guess he had a ton of fun with it.

My only complaint is all that all the Michael references reminded me of AB. That bit wasn’t much fun 😕.

Grelle and L Lawliet? =)

Grelle x Sebastian Michaelis (Sebagrelle, “red and black”)

As you can probably figure out after spending two minutes on my blog, I am extremely passionate about Sebagrelle. In fact, it’s among my most cherished OTPs in any fandom. While I do believe that certain aspects of their personalities would need to be tweaked in order for the relationship to work (i.e. Sebastian would need to be capable of empathy, while Grelle would need to learn to respect others’ boundaries), I am convinced that this pairing is a goldmine of untapped potential. At their core, these two actually have quite a bit in common. Both are inexorably drawn to beauty, but each also possesses a wild ferocity and considerable skill in combat. I also see both of them as individuals who don’t quite fit in with their surroundings– Grelle’s a trans woman whose identity is not respected or even acknowledged by her peers, while Sebastian is a demon masquerading among mortals (and I headcanon that other demons tend to view Sebastian as an oddity due to the fact that he’s an aesthete with an inordinate fondness for cats). Their personalities also complement each other quite nicely. Grelle is sassy, vivacious, and outspoken, while Bassy is more elegant and subdued. I headcanon that Sebastian himself is genderfluid, so I could see him eventually accepting Grelle’s womanhood more readily than the other characters in the series– and that is something she desperately needs. Add the fact that their relationship would likely constitute a forbidden romance (given that demons and reapers are by their very nature at odds with one another), and you have the essential ingredients for a lovely pairing.

Grelle x Madame Red (Redcliff, “the fire and the flame” [yes, I’m that extra])

I readily admit, that, in canon, Grelle is only romantically attracted to men. As such, I don’t believe her actual relationship with Madame Red was ever sexual in nature. However, because I’m gay trash for this woman and lover her to pieces for certain reasons, I enjoy pretending that she’s bi. If that was the case, and assuming that Madame Red was also bi, this could be a delightful wlw OTP. Both ladies love red and have an impeccable sense of style, both excel in their respective professions, neither shies away from violence/breaking the rules, both are passionate individuals, etc. Just imagining them doing one another’s makeup (or Madame Red sharing her dresses with Grelle) is enough to make my bi little heart go doki-doki. And, in some AU. I love the thought of them as happily wedded wives with an adorable foster daughter or two. :D

L Lawliet

L x Naomi Misora (Lawmassacre)

I’ve gushed about this OTP in a couple of previous asks (check out the “l x naomi” tag on my blog), but I consider Lawmassacre to be an awesome yet criminally underrated ship. Besides the superficial appeal (both L and Naomi are pretty people), I see them as the ultimate power couple: Two highly intelligent, dangerous individuals serving the cause of justice, even if their underlying motives differ. With her practical attitude and kind heart, Naomi would be a good influence on L, while the froggy detective would value her worth as an agent. I could see him coming to rely on her as his right-hand woman/personal field operative. King and queen!

L x Wedy (Wedlaw? lol)

This is even more of a Death Note rarepair than Lawmassacre, but it’s grown on me. L and Wedy are both cunning, ruthless, and not afraid to resort to shady tactics in order to get what they want. I headcanon that Wedy was the person who taught L how to pick pockets, that, along with Aiber, she played an instrumental role in L’s victory in the “detective war” against Coil and Deneuve, and that L lost his v-card to her. ;) I see the relationship as an intermittent affair that the two rekindled whenever L called Wedy in for assistance with cases, and that, while not soulmates, both developed feelings for each other.

Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Pac for the AEW Continental Championship -- Pac slaps Okada in the back of the head!!! Nice side headlock takeovers by Pac. Pac with a rana, then a nice twisting dive over the top to the outside! Pac throws Okada into the barricades. Pac lands a running uppercut in the corner, then an avalanche brainbuster for two!! Pac with a nice enziguri from the apron, then goes to the top. Okada dropkicks Pac off the top to the floor!! Geez!!! Okada throws Pac into the barricades, just like Pac did to him previously. Okada with a nice sliding dropkick inside!! Okada lands a beautiful dropkick, then SPIKES Pac with a draping DDT off the barricade onto the floor!! Pac sells it like a murder!! Okada laughs!!!! That rocked so hard, surprise surprise!!!!!!! It was an excellently constructed match with a great build and progression. Great back and forth, and some truly awesome nearfalls. Great heel shit by Okada. Badass wrestling by Pac. I loved everything about this. Rating: 4.5

House of Black vs. Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe, and Eddie Kingston -- Eddie with round kicks to the back and chops to the chest of King. King lands a cannonball in the corner on Eddie for two. Nice running dropkick and uppercuts from Matthews to Eddie. Black comes in. Eddie lands chops, Black responds with vicious kicks and a nasty back elbow. Eddie lands a German suplex. Nice, hard kicks from Matthews to Mark. Then Mark lands an enziguri and a running dropkick to Matthews, sending him to the outside. Mark sets up a chair on the apron and springboards off of it and over the ring post into a somersault senton on King! Wow!!! Mark lands a huge uppercut to Matthew, then Matthews lands a strong knee to Mark on the apron. King lands a DVD on Mark into the barricade. Mark is isolated by the HOB and beaten down. He finally makes the tag to Copeland. Black and Matthews land double powerbombs on Eddie and Mark! Copeland lands a superplex on King! Matthews with a meteora on Copeland! King with a huge discus lariat on Mark! Eddie lands a backfist, Copeland lands an Impaler DDT, and Mark lands Froggy Bow on King! Cover on King, but Matthews breaks it up. Big jumping knees from Matthews to Eddie and from Black to Mark. HOB go for a triple team combo in the corner, but the other team cuts them off with triple spears!! Copeland lands a spear on King in the ring! Copeland sets up for a spear on Black, but Black stops it with mist to the face and lands the Black Mass kick for the pinfall! 

This was a lot better than I expected it to be, with Matthews and Mark carrying the match to its highest levels. Good finish with Black getting the fall on Copeland, which should put him next in line for a TNT Championship match. Rating: 3.25 

Julia Hart (c) vs. Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship -- Julia kicks Willow off the top and throws her over the barricade into the timekeeper area. Julia uses her knee to drive Willow's throat into the middle rope and then wraps her legs around Willow's head in a hold in the ropes. Willow with a sleeper, but Julia escapes with kicks to the head! Willow with a big spinebuster for two. Willow misses a dropkick off the top, and Julia locks in Hartless, but Willow to gets to her feet with Julia on her back. Julia escapes, but Willow then catches her in a pinning combo for two! Julia with some thrust kicks, Willow responds with chops! Julia goes for a moonsault off the top, but Willow gets her feet up to Julia's face and then lands a huge, full body lariat!!! Willow lands the doctor bomb for the pinfall!! 

Short match that was kind of awkward in spots. It was clear it was going to happen, but it's still nice to see Willow win a championship. Rating: 2.25 

Mercedes comes out to face off with Willow in the ring, pointing at the logo for Double or Nothing on the screen. Hype!!

Roderick Strong (c) vs. Kyle O'Reilly for the AEW International Championship -- Nice start on the mat. Kyle with a drop toe hold into a front facelock. Headlock takeover by Roddy into a side headlock. Kyle goes for an arm bar, Roddy blocks it, Kyle grabs an ankle lock, but Roddy grabs the rope. Roddy lands chops and a backbreaker!!! Kyle with round kicks! Roddy ducks a round kick and lands a nice dropkick for two! Kyle snaps Roddy's arm over the rope, then slams the arm down into the mat! Kyle with more round kicks! Roddy responds with more chops! Kyle goes for a jumping knee, but Roddy picks him out of the air and lands a nasty backbreaker on knee!!!!! Beautiful!!!!!!! 

Roddy lands a backbreaker on the top turnbuckle! Damn!! Roddy with right hands to Kyle's head on the mat! Kyle locks in a triangle, but Roddy quickly escapes with shots to the face. Roddy lands some chops, Kyle responds with elbows. Roddy lands a knee lift! They exchange more elbows! Roddy lands a backbreaker on the knee! Then another backbreaker on the knee!!! Roddy gets Kyle up in a torture rack and drops him into a backbreaker on both knees for two! BEAUTIFUL! Roddy goes for End of Heartache, but Kyle blocks it with knees to the head! Kyle locks in a guillotine, but Roddy escspes. Kyle with a round kick, palm strike, knee strike, leg sweep combo!!!! Ahhhh!! Kyle with an arm breaker over his shoulder and locks in a knee bar on the mat, but Roddy gets to the rope! Kyle lands a round kick to the knee. Kyle goes for an arm breaker over the shoulder again, but Roddy reverses into a beautiful Olympic slam!!!!! Aaahhh!! Roddy runs back and forth off the ropes with beautiful repeated running elbows!! I am yelling!!!!! 

Roddy goes for a knee strike, but Kyle blocks it and lands a round kick to the back!! Roddy gets hung up in the ropes, and Kyle lands a diving knee off the top to the back of the head, then another knee off the top inside, then locks in a knee bar!!!!! Roddy breaks the hold with kicks to the head!! They exchange elbows! Roddy ducks a round kick by Kyle and lands another backbreaker on the knee!! Roddy lands a superplex!! They pin each other at the same time for two! Roddy with elbows!! Roddy lands a nasty back elbow!! Kyle goes for a rebound lariat, but Roddy comes back with a lariat of his own at the same time!! Both go down! Kyle and Roddy trade round kicks and chops respectively! Kyle goes for an axe and smash combo, but Roddy blocks it and lifts Kyle up for a backbreaker, but Kyle escapes his grip! Kyle lands the axe kick and goes for the forearm smash, but Roddy stops it with a huge jumping knee!!!! Hot damn!!!! Kyle reverses a Tiger Driver attempt by Roddy into a guillotine! Roddy escapes by catapulting Kyle neck-first into the rope! Kyle slams Roddy's arm down hard on the apron! Roddy gets a roll up for two! Kyle with a crucifix for two! Kyle lands the Nigel rebound lariat off the bottom rope for two!!!! Ahhaahaah!! I am freaking out!! Kyle lands a brainbuster for two, then goes for an arm bar, but Roddy prevents him from fully locking it in and gets a foot on the rope to break! Roddy lands a beautiful dropkick, then lands End of Heartache for the CLEAN pinfall!!!!!! Beautiful!!!! 

(Wardlow shows up for a second in the match, but does not do anything to directly interfere.)

I am losing it!!!! This was an absolutely fantastic, back and forth match between two of the best in the world. Great back work by Roddy, great knee and arm work by Kyle. Roddy looked like a million bucks, sprinting from start to finish like the machine he is. And a CLEAN Roddy victory?!!! Music to my eyeballs!! What a night!! Rating: 4 

After the match, the Kingdom wheel Cole onto the stage in his wheelchair. He stands up and walks!!! Wow!! Took long enough!! Not that I am happy to have him back or anything. They head to the ring. The Kingdom lifts Roddy up in celebration. Cole stares daggers at the back of Wardlow's head?   

Hook (c) vs. Chris Jericho for the FTW Championship -- Hook with two nice t-bone suplexes on Jericho, then a lariat over the ropes. Jericho goes for Judas Effect, but Hook ducks and locks in a knee bar! Jericho reverses into the Walls. Hook reverses into an inside cradle for two, then locks in Redrum, but Jericho escapes with a low blow and lands Judas Effect! Hook kicks out at 2.5! Wow!! Jericho lands another Judas Effect, and Hook kicks out again!! Wtf!! Jericho grabs a bat and begs Hook not to make him do this. Hook flips him off. Jericho nails Hook in the head with a bat and covers him for three. 

A lot of people seem to be shitting on this, but I thought it was a solid match with some good spots and moments, including the t-bone off the apron through the table and Hook kicking out of two Judas Effects. I don't really like or understand Jericho winning, but at least Hook doesn't come out of this looking terrible, as it took two Judas Effects and a bat to the face to put him away. Rating: 3

Toni lands another backbreaker, then drives her elbow into Rosa’s back and covers for two! Toni steps on Rosa’s back, then lands double knees to the back. Rosa with a sunset flip off top, then Rosa runs into a powerbomb and high stack on Toni for two. Rosa lands a missile dropkick off the top and a Samoan Drop. Rosa lands a crucifix bomb for two! Rosa lands a dropkick, then a DVD on the apron!! Rosa drags Toni inside for a cover for two. Rosa tries to lift Toni, but her back gives out. Toni lands a hanging backstabber with Rosa’s legs tied on the middle rope, then a tornado DDT and a fisherman suplex for two! Toni goes for the chokebomb, but Rosa reverses and rolls through into a stomp on the throat for two! Geez! Rosa misses a stomp off the top. Toni lands the chokebomb for two! Toni bounces Rosa off the ropes and lands hard shots to the back, then they trade elbows!! Rosa runs the ropes, but Toni stops her with a headbutt! Rosa with an enziguri! Toni lands a German suplex, then Rosa lands a German suplex of her own! Toni with another German suplex, then a hip attack, then Storm Zero, but Rosa kicks out at 2.9999!!! Wtf!!! Toni locks in a Texas Cloverleaf, but Rosa gets to the ropes. Rosa lands a backstabber and locks in some sort of choke/crossface hold, but Toni gets to the ropes and grabs the apron. Toni lands a low blow while the ref is fixing the apron, then lands Storm Zero for the pinfall! 

This was a very good match, with Toni working Rosa's back well throughout. Rosa kicking out of that German/hip attack/Storm Zero sequence was a big surprise and a great nearfall. I wish it hadn't been a cheap, low blow victory. But still a good match. Glad to see Toni retain. I would have been devastated to see this great reign end here. Rating: 3.25

Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay -- LET’S GOOOOO!!!!! They start on the mat with headlock takeovers and head scissors, both trying to control each other's wrists. They block each other's round kicks. Ospreay handsprings off the ropes and flips over Danielson's back. Danielson goes for the LeBell lock, but Ospreay escapes. They stand back and stare each other down! Danielson goes for a kick, Ospreay catches the leg, Danielson flips him off, Ospreay lands hard chops, Danielson responds with hard chops of his own!! Danielson with an ankle pick into an ankle an lock. Danielson with a choke, then a kravat, then a knee to the head. Snapmare by Danielson, but Ospreay lands on his feet and takes Danielson down with a rana!!! Danielson with chops, huge uppercuts, and hard round kicks! Ospreay with a vicious running boot to the face, then a springboard cross body over the ropes to the outside!

Ospreay springboards to the inside, and Danielson catches him in midair with a hard kick to the midsection! Damn!! Danielson with knees, then a kitchen sink, then a round kick to the back for just a one count!!! Danielson with vicious knees to the back/side on the mat, then ties up the legs in a hold and lands alternating shots to the midsection and elbows to the face!!! Geez!!! Danielson then ties up the head and arms as well, but Ospreay rolls to the rope to break. Hard chop exchange!! Danielson with stiff body shots in the corner! Ospreay handsprings off the ropes with a corkscrew kick, then lands a boot in the corner, then a springboard forearm for two! Ospreay with Kawada kicks to the head! Danielson responds with a series of chops, then an uppercut, then a body shot! Ospreay springboards/backflips off Danielson then lands an enziguri. Danielson rolls outside, and Ospreay lands a sky twister press off the top to the outside! Ospreay lands a nasty-looking elbow to the back of the neck off the top inside! Damn!!

Danielson intercepts a Hidden Blade attempt with a round kick to the arm! Beautiful!!!!! Danielson lands a tiger suplex into a bridge for two! Danielson with hammer and anvil elbows, then locks in Cattle Mutilation! Ospreay gets to the rope to break. Danielson with an armbreaker over his shoulder, then chops, then a running dropkick, then goes for a rana off the top! But Ospreay lands on his feet!!! Ospreay lands a hook kick, then a tiger driver for two! Ospreay goes to the top, but Danielson shoves him down and he gets crotched on the turnbuckle. Danielson with hammer and anvil elbows on the top, then lands an avalanche tiger suplex!!!!! Damn!!!! Cover, but Ospreay gets his foot on the ropes! Danielson with hard round kicks to the right arm!! Danielson lays Ospreay out with a PK, but Ospreay sits back up! Danielson with another PK, and Ospreay sits back up again!! Danielson looks like he is thinking about another PK, but just slaps Ospreay in the face instead! Nice! Ospreay responds with a huge elbow that drops Danielson!!! Geez!!!

Danielson blocks a tiger driver attempt on the apron and lands more hard round kicks! Ospreay catches the foot and lands a nasty hook kick, then an OsCutter on the apron!! Damn!! Ospreay lands a Hidden Blade off the apron to the back of Danielson's head while the ref is checking on Danielson, sending Danielson hard to the floor! Holy shit!!! Danielson gets back in the ring at 9, and Ospreay immediately meets him with a springboard dropkick, then lands a high angle powerbomb into a high stack, and Danielson barely kicks out at 2.9!!!! Aaaahhhh!!

Ospreay lands a round kick, then comes quickly back around with a hook kick, then goes for an OsCutter, but Danielson catches the arm out of midair in a submission hold!!! Ospreay escapes! Danielson with a guillotine! Ospreay goes for something, and Danielsion reverses into La Mistica and into the Lebell lock!! Danielson traps the other arm to prevent Ospreay from grabbing the rope, but Ospreay gets his leg on the rope! Danielson lays in hard round kicks to the chest, then one to the head!!! Danielson goes for the Busaiku knee, but Ospreay catches him and goes for a powerbomb, but Danielson reverses into a hurricanrana for two!!!! Ospreay with a victory roll for two! Danielson gets a roll up of his own for two! Danielson with a German suplex, but Ospreay lands on his feet!! Ospreay goes for a Hidden Blade, but Danielson ducks it and lands a huge Busaiku knee!!! Cover, but Ospreay kicks out at 2.5!!!!!! 

Danielson kicks Ospreay's head in!!!! Danielson goes for the LeBell lock, but Ospreay tries to block and escapes with elbows to the head!!! Danielson transitions to a triangle!! Ospreay lifts Danielson up and powerbombs him down to try to escape, but Danielson holds on and lays in elbows to the top of the head!! Ospreay stands up and lands a Styles Clash with one arm to break the hold!!!!! Aaaaahhh wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!! They trade headbutts and elbow strikes on their knees on the mat! Danielson lands a huge palm strike to the face!! Hot damn!! Danielson with more palm strikes!! Danielson lands a shoulder-capture suplex!! Ospreay gets right back up and lands Hidden Blade!!!!! Aaaahhh!!! Ospreay goes for an OsCutter, but Danielson takes him out of midair with a pinpoint accurate Busaiku knee to the head!!! I AM FREAKING OUT!!!! Danielson sets up for another Busaiku knee in the corner!! Ospreay gets up and sets up for the Hidden Blade in the other corner, slowly taking off the elbow pad as he stares across the ring at Danielson!!!! I AM GOING TO SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! They both run across the ring at each other, but Ospreay hits the Hidden Blade first!!!!! Ospreay lands the Tiger Driver 91!!!!! I AM CRYING!!!!!!!!! The medical staff check on Danielson, but Ospreay lands another Hidden Blade to the back of Danielson's head for the pinfall!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOLY SHIT, I AM LITERALLY CRYING!!!! MY HANDS ARE SHAKING AS I TYPE THIS. WTF WAS THAT!!!! THIS is a perfect match. From the arm work by Danielson to try to take away the Hidden Blade, to Ospreay's refusal to stay down, to Danielson's beautiful striking and submission wrestling, to Ospreay having no sympathy for Danielson and staying on the attack even when he is being checked on by medical staff, to the incredible counters and nearfalls, to that absolutely epic finish with the two of them setting up for the Busaiku knee and Hidden Blade in opposite corners and racing to see who would get there first. That finish will live in my mind forever. What a match!!!!!!!!!!! Rating: 5

Nigel on commentary during the match about Danielson: “It’s like someone started to mold feet out of clay and forgot to finish them.” Lmao, what?? Danielson is lying on the mat and having convulsions after the match. He is checked on by medical staff and is stretchered out. That was a little much for me, but it doesn’t take away from the perfection of the match itself. 

FTR vs. The Young Bucks -- Ladder Match for the Vacant AEW World Tag Team Championship -- The Bucks take a ladder to Dax’s face outside. Cash dropkicks the ladder into the Bucks’ faces while they hold it. Dax backdrops Matt onto a ladder inside!! Matt drop toe holds Dax into the ring steps (while Dax is holding a ladder)! Nick lands a running kick to Cash from the apron. Cash falls back onto a ladder. Matt picks up one end of the ladder, which is propped up by the apron on the other end. Nick lands a somersault senton off the apron onto Cash as he lays on the ladder! Dax’s head is busted open! The Bucks land chair shots to Dax’s back, then they sandwich Dax in a ladder, and Nick lands more chair shots! Then they take a chair to Cash’s head! The Bucks whip Dax hard into a ladder in the corner, then hurl Cash hard into a ladder in the other corner! The Bucks hurl Dax face-first into a ladder set up between the apron and the barricade outside!

Cash backflips into a double reverse DDT on the Bucks on the floor!! Wow, impressive! Cash gets crotched on the ladder set up between the apron and the barricade. The Bucks land an EVP Trigger on the ladder! FTR with stereo suplexes on the Bucks inside! Nick runs the ropes, but Cash catches him with a nice powerslam! FTR with a double team bulldog on Matt. Dax locks in a Sharpshooter on Matt, while Cash sets up a ladder over top of Matt’s back and climbs!!! Nice!!! Nick comes in with a superkick to Dax and starts to climb the ladder. Dax pulls Nick off the ladder into a slingshot powerbomb!!!! Damn! Cash shoves Matt off the apron through a table outside! Nick reverses a powerbomb attempt by Dax into a rana off the apron, sending Dax through a table outside!!! Geez! All four get on top of the ladder! Matt is the last remaining on top. Dax pulls off Matt’s shoes, then pulls him down into a Shatter Machine!!! Ahh! Dax superplexes Nick off a ladder, and Cash frog splashes off another ladder onto Nick! Cash is on top of the ladder! Matt shoves Dax into the ladder and Cash falls. Matt superkicks Cash! Nick lands a 450 splash off the top on Cash through a table!!!! Aaahh!!! Dax lands a piledriver on Matt on the ladder set up between the apron and the barricade on the other side!!! Holy shit!!!! Nick lands a sunset flip powerbomb on Dax off the ladder inside!!!! Cash lariats Nick over the top rope, and Nick hits a ladder hard on the way out. Cash runs with everything he has for a tope, but Nick moves, and Cash goes hard through a table propped up on the barricade outside!!! Nick and Dax are on top of the ladder inside! Dax swings the belt into Nick's face to take him down! Dax reaches for the belt, but a hooded, masked person comes out of nowhere and shoves Dax down off the ladder! Security is immediately on top of him. The mask comes off to reveal Jack Perry!!! He gets a good pop!! Nice!! Nick grabs the titles for the win! 

These guys were in a difficult spot here, trying to follow Danielson/Ospreay, but boy, did they ever step up and just go nuts. This was a fantastic match filled with chaotic, non-stop action and crazy ladder/table spots. This was much better than their last match. And I don't mind the interference finish in a ladder match/no DQ situation like this. This was a great way to bring Jack back. I really liked this. Rating: 4

Swerve jumps off the middle rope, and Joe walks away, but Swerve comes back with a dropkick. Swerve goes for a tope, but Joe catches him and lands a huge uranage on the announce table!!!! Geez! Swerve backflips over the top rope and his knee goes into Joe’s head! Joe goes for a Muscle Buster on the exposed concrete on floor, and Swerve escapes! Joe lands a powerslam on the exposed floor instead! Damn! Joe corners Swerve inside with nasty jabs to the face! They trade chops, and Joe goes low to sweep out the legs with a low kick! Joe lands a big elbow drop for two. Joe with a neck crank hold, then slams Swerve down to the mat. Exchange of strikes! Joe trucks Swerve with a back elbow! Joe goes for an elbow outside, but Swerve ducks and Joe elbows the ring post!

Swerve pulls off the turnbuckle pad and hyperextends Joe's arm over the turnbuckle! Swerve slams Joe’s arm down with an armbreaker into the mat. Swerve lands a German suplex for 2.5! Joe goes for the Coquina Clutch, but Swerve drops down and lands a double upkick to escape. Swerve lands a rolling flatliner for two! Swerve drives Joe’s arm down into the mat off the top rope, then locks in an arm bar, then transitions into a triangle! Joe deadlifts Swerve up and lands a powerbomb onto the top turnbuckle! Joe lands a Muscle Buster! Swerve kicks out at two! Joe goes to grab the belt and tries to climb back in the ring, but Swerve lands a House Call to Joe on the apron, then lands a 450 knee strike off the top to the back of the head, then lands a double stomp off the top for only two!!! What a sequence! Joe has the belt, but Swerve takes it and swings at Joe. Joe ducks and locks in the Coquina Clutch! Swerve grabs Joe's injured arm to escape, then stomps on the injured arm! Swerve lands House Call again, but Joe kicks out at two! Swerve goes to the top, and Joe follows. This was a great match with some great spots, but it never quite hit the next level and felt a bit anticlimactic in the end. I wasn't ready to see Joe lose the title, but I knew it was coming, and it's a good moment for Swerve. Good for him. Rating: 3.5

Place with a New Hope partner: In the care center TeeTee remains fearful and startles upon sudden approach from strangers, escalating to growling and lunging. The behavior observed in the care center combined with her reported behavior towards the child in the previous home causes us to believe she would be best set up to succeed through placement with a New Hope placement partner. In her previous home, she lunged, barked, and growled at the 7 year old child in the home, circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown. It is important to always go slow and give Tee Tee the option to walk away from any social interaction. Tee Tee should never be forced to approach anything that she is uncomfortable with or to submit to petting or handling. It should always be Tee Tee’s choice to approach a new person or thing. Tee Tee would do best in an initially calm and quiet home environment and should be given time to acclimate to her new surroundings. Kennel presence: While we cannot be certain if this behavior will appear in any other contexts, in highly emotionally charged or stressful environments Precious may show behavior similar to what she is currently demonstrating in her kennel.
