idk if it's just because i'm a raging bisexual but i actually didn't mind cecile and mark's (once he learned to SHUT UP) additions to the flash

i actually adore cecile. was she kinda op??? yeah...but i honestly didn't care. and mark was definitely annoying at first but once he stopped, i liked him just fine. now this might be because i haven't read the comics (and don't plan on it so shush) i don't know, but from a cw-only perspective, i liked them as characters and what they brought to it, but then again maybe i'm just blinded by how pretty they are

it's really just a silly hospital au i never got around to finishing it's cringy and basic but it's funny to me so i kept it

so cas is a doctor ofc i have to reward dean somehow.

he's neurosurgeon because i did watch grey's anatomy and dr. sexy being a parody of derek shepherd who's played by patrick dempsey who also played a guy named cass who was in a polyamory with jensen ackle's character and marilyn monroe. i had to put it in

i couldnt decide if i wanted dean to be a doctor too or a nurse but i know i wanted him in peds

basically it's one sided enemies to lovers with dean having beef with cas for no reason (he's hot and this frustrates dean to no end). meanwhile cas has a crush bigger than texas on that man

maybe a competitive aspect too like derek and burke had but less animosity. i try to lean into the soap opera aspect of it as if they're in a medical drama more than a REAL HOSPITAL because it's easier than doing extensive research <3

so maybe dean is a bit more of an asshole to cas than strictly necessary and no one else gets why. cas essentially gives up on trying to have a normal conversation w/dean and thinks he really hates him so he settles to only talk to him in a professional capacity so he wont encroach on his space more than he has to

dean takes this personally. i love misunderstandings

etc etc it comes to a head when maybe something happens that really sets dean off about cas (i haven't figured what yet) and so to get back at him he nabs a cookie from his lunch (cas already established that anyone can indulge in them but dean missed the memo ig)

anyways ruh roh! his dumbass is allergic to one of the ingredients cos it came into contact with walnuts or smth idk

dean's embarrassed as hell and cas finds him all swollen and fucked up and i haven't gotten past this part but yeah i just wanted cas to stab dean with an epi-pen really

overall very mid and silly and dumb but here's an excerpt anyway:

Ahem. Of course Dean is going to be intrigued he's a human being! It's not like Castiel was interested anyway. Barely said three words to Dean before rushing off somewhere else, probably to bless some other coworker with his angelic ass sculpted by god. Dean tried a few times after that and still ended up with nothing more than stilted small talk. Dude made talking to a brick wall seem like a cake walk. There was always something going on that had to cut their conversations short, and Dean thought Cas was just a shy guy at first, nothing wrong with that. But he's seen Dr. Novak easily chat with other staff for longer than two (painfully awkward) minutes. Especially Masters. God that snake just loves to hang off Novak, like that's her job instead of being a damn nurse. Even Balthazar, their own personal sleazeball of an anesthesiologist, allegedly manages to drag the uptight doctor out from time to time.

Not that Dean has been stalking them or anything. He just heard it through the grapevine like every other godforsaken rumor at this high school of a hospital. And if the grapevine happened to just be Balthazar himself bragging about their nights out in the breakroom, well that's Dean's business.

"I still say you need to give him a chance, Dean," his mammoth of a brother insisted, brushing his mane out of his face. Seriously, dude, just get a haircut. "I don't get what your problem with him is. Castiel is great! A little awkward maybe, but it really adds to his charm." Dean rolls his eyes.

"Sammy, you do realize you sound like you're trying to get me to adopt a dog that's about to be sent to the pound? It didn't work when you were eight and it won't work now. And, for your information, I've given Cas plenty of chances to talk to me. He's the one with the issue. You should be selling him all this kumbaya bullshit. And don't you have some lawsuits to prevent?"

It's Sam's turn to roll his eyes. "Whatever, Dean. If you gave up on talking to him then why the hell do you call him by a nickname?" With another flip of his mop, his brother left Dean spluttering for a reasonable answer. Which there is, of course. But Sam's long gone by the time he manages a weak "Castiel is a mouthful, okay?" "I'll say," came an annoyingly sultry voice from behind. Without turning Dean lets out a sigh. "Can I help you, Masters?" He asks flatly, already resigning himself to an unpleasant encounter. "Oh, don't be like that, Dean," God, he can practically hear the obnoxious pout he knows she's wearing right now. "I thought we could bond over what a mouthful Clarence is!" That has him spinning around.

meg is cas' bestie she can't understand why he's hung up on dean but she supports his terrible terrible taste. and if she can manage to convince dean they're fucking in the meantime well. god forbid women do anything

Anyway hello do you have any reading recs for Hawkeye? Either one tbh but especially Kate? No pressure though.

LMFAOOO yeah you’ll be hard pressed to find anything MCU related here and if you do it’s probably not nice 💀 but I generally avoid talking about it because I don’t want MCU blogs to follow me and I’ve got it’s tags blocked. If I don’t look at it I can pretend it’s not there.

I would ABSOLUTELY love to give you Kate Bishop recs because hardly anyone asks about her and she is actually fantastic

I would start out with Young Avengers (2005-2006) this is where she starts popping up and you get to see her take on the name of Hawkeye and she is an absolute spitfire and v much fits right into the title.

She is in civil war but honestly civil war is a LOT and I wouldn’t drag through it I would just jump on to Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye (2012) run. A lot of ppl tend to forget she had her own storyline in this run and she is a delight in it.

Now you can look into All New Hawkeye (2015) if you want… I have discrepancies with it. Some things they make Kate and a Clint do seems… off with their characterization. So read at your own discretion for that one

After she gets her own Hawkeye (2016) run and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this run. This is where we really get to dig deep into Kate and see more of her story and her life and how it’s led her to her superhero lifestyle.

There is a cute little in between story called Generations: Hawkeye . I like it. I think it shows how well Kate and Clint work together, no matter what point in time.

After that we get to see the her be a leader just like Clint was in WCA in the most recent West Coast Avengers (2018-2019) cute!! I love it. She is wonderful and very much a Hawkeye. I could kiss her lil forehead about it.

After that she has another Hawkeye run Hawkeye: Kate Bishop (2021-2022) and that’s where Marvel kind of left her! She is kind of in comic limbo 😭 I miss her and I beg for marvel to give her back to us daily

3. john constantine - hellblazer by vertigo comics, specifically the jamie delano run but the entire series is also good. i ignore what dc has done to him. british bastard. dumb of ass and bi of sexual. the second comic book character i ever fell in love with. attachment issues the size of fucking texas. technically a warlock but a lot of ppl forget he has nergal’s blood (tbh the way it happened was p weird so there’s that). funniest bitch in existence.

4. soldier :  76 by blizzard games. a fucking king. gay icon. if you play him it instantly turns you gay. his name is jack morrison and he deserves two (2) things and they are a peaceful life on a farm somewhere and the entire world. the grumpiest bastard in game but i think he is warranted. more than warranted, tbh. 

5. david kim - xombi by dc comics. comedy king. korean-american superhero, technically immortal, has the most galaxy brain in existence. he’s a synthetic “zombie” courtesy to nanotechnology, because that was a good idea to make yourself be able to heal from any wound and never die. he’s dumb sometimes but he’s allowed. 

6. hercules - marvel comics. also dumb of ass and bi of sexual. the most himbo to ever himbo. i owe him my whole life and he deserves the ENTIRE world, no i do not take criticism. every day i thank the lord jesus my savior and brieuc for introducing him to me. 

7. ronan lynch - the raven cycle by maggie stiefvater. a HOME OF SEXUAL. mans is not a fan of lamps and i love him for it. has a pet raven named chainsaw and is one of my most favorite book ppl of all time. he’s so chaotic and dumb and i just think he’s so neat.

8. howell - howl’s moving castle by diana wynne jones. do i even need an explanation here. he’s lovely. he’s so dumb. i love him. welsh sorcerer man who somehow went from modern-day-ish wales to medieval,, wherever. it’s been a while since i’ve read the books, okay? but he’s very apathetic and the movie, while very different from the books, is very valid. 

9. commander vimes - discworld books by terry pratchett. another grumpy old man but this one is aggressively (probably) heterosexual. unfortunately. but he has some of the most raw fucking quotes in the entire series and i am very fond of him both as a character and as a concept. 

10. dustfinger - inkheart books by cornelia funke. also been a hot second since i’ve read these books but dustfinger is my problematic fav. i enjoy his Aesthetic. i just think he’s neat. the way he continually puts himself first? a whole role model. i admire him.

Tips from a Comic Author

I asked a comic book author friend about making a comic, and she had these tips and advice to share:

1. Art tips- Practice drawing A LOT. Find some real-life anatomy pics (I may/may not have used a lot of playboy/playgirl centerfold pics to practice from lol) and practice drawing from those. It doesn’t have to be just those either.. find stock photos on google and type in a pose and draw them. Don’t just copy your favorite manga artists. And yes it’s ok to trace because it helps to create muscle memory. Use it as an aid. 2. One video that has helped me improve my style- search Drawingwiffwaffles and look up her video about improving your art style. Follow the steps. 3. It’s ok to suck at first. The improvements will happen slowly and over time. JUST KEEP GOiNG!!!! 4. Study up on the English language. For the love of the creation gods- CHECK AND DOuBlE CHECK YOuR GRAMMAR AnD SPELLING!!! There is nothing worse than reading dialogue that sounds stiff and robotic. Write the dialogue like how you would speak IRL. Oh and use all caps in your text so that you don’t have to worry about capitalization. 5. Plot out and script out your story. But don’t be afraid to make changes along the way. It’s ok to improvise. 6. Join Facebook/tumblr  groups dedicated to indie comic creators. Networking with other creators will help expand your career. So you better learn to schmooze and brown nose all you can. 7. Don’t constantly reboot your story. Don’t get stuck in a perfectionist loop. Just keep moving forward and work to make each page/ issue better than the last. 8. Your gonna get frustrated and cry a lot. Get used to it. 9. Your motivations for comic creation better be more deep than just money or fame. Because neither of those come easy. It takes years. 10. Probably what I feel the most important is—- stay true to your vision and what you feel is morally right for you to do as a creator.  There are a lot of movements within the indie creator world that demand certain “expectations” for every single story. If you feel like those expectations/standards don’t sit well with you, then don’t follow them. Stay true to who you are, your own creative voice, and your characters. There is an audience out there for every type of story. You just have to put in the work to get your story out there and noticed by the right people. If someone doesn’t like your story because there isn’t enough fan service/there isn’t enough violence/ there’s too much nudity/ too much violence—- any reason that is just opinion based. It’s not the end of the world. It just means they aren’t your audience. Don’t dwell on the haters. But definitely learn to recognize opinion vs actual criticism. 11. Character development—- don’t just settle for selling your character’s sexuality or gender /race in order to gain an audience. Find more meaningful/unique ways to make your characters stand out. 12. If your doing superheroes... don’t over power them. it’s boring and over used Hmm I’m sure I can think of tons more but those are definitely the first ones that always come to mind when ppl ask for tips and tricks

A/N: This will probably be the longest part in this mini series sorry I’ve been crap at updating lately. Posting this whilst I am away on vacation in LA I hope you like this part! *not proofread read at your own risk*

You and Wanda hit it off from the first day. You bonded over your powers, helped each other control them,  and soon became best friends. The two of you complement each other perfectly, and you tell each other everything like any other pair of best friends.  Which is why it kills you not telling her this.

If you’re being perfectly honest with yourself, you had no idea what it was like to have a best friend until you Wanda became a part of your life. You had your uncle Scott, but that’s not exactly the same thing. Together, you felt like you could have happy moments of normalcy despite leading a lives of chaos whether it be as simple as sharing the same breakfast cereal in the morning at the kitchen counter or sharing your innermost thoughts over a late-night snack.

You knew she would find out sooner rather than later, but as your relationship with Peter progressed, and seeing as three people too many already knew, it just never seemed to be the right time to tell her. She had definitely noticed something off about you lately. However, when she asked you about it, you gave her lame excuses about being tired or having a tough time with the intensive home-schooling program Tony is putting you through.

Her suspicions were confirmed when you left your phone on the couch during one of your movie nights. You were in the bathroom and your phone started buzzing with a call from your secret boyfriend. By the time she had found it lodged between the couch cushions, the ringing had stopped, and whoever called was leaving you a voice message. She thought about speaking to let him know she had answered the phone and he could talk to you as soon as you came back, but what he was saying was too cute to stop him, and she couldn’t give away her cover at that point. Her suspicions were further confirmed when Vision phased through the wall whilst she was listening to Peter talk on speaker. Although he is a man- or rather artificial man of few expressions, Wanda could read him like a book the second their eyes met. To her it was obvious that he knew. Just as she was about to grill him for information you came back from the bathroom, and they stowed away their knowing glances, resolving to speak about it later. Which they did with Nat and Sam, swearing her to secrecy.

Hurt that you didn’t tell her about this, she tried to coax you into admitting your secret relationship every occasion she could. Each time, you had managed to lie smoothly, avert the subject, or avoided having any one-on-one encounters with her where she’d have the opportunity to do so. This led to you seeing her less, and the two of you growing apart. You missed your best friend and you knew that she knew you were lying to her, but you simply couldn’t find the words to do so as well as giving her a legitimate reason why you hid this from her.

Your best friend is indecisive, albeit when she does have her mind made up, it’s for good. Today is the day she will catch you in the act, and you will not be weaseling out of it.

“I’ve given her a lot of chances to tell me the truth about her and Peter, and she keeps lying to me! I can’t take it anymore!” Her usual placid tone is irate as she rants to Vision who sits across the kitchen counter from where she paces back and forth. Vision listens to her quietly- not that she’d listen to any of his protests anyways. “I’m going up there right now, and I am confronting them right now.”

Vision does nothing to stop her since he knows there’s no use, so watches her stomp her way to your room where you and Peter are cuddling. Her angry footsteps turn to quiet socks sliding on the smooth floor as she pads her way to bust you two. You lay comfortably in Peter’s arms, his soft sweater hanging loosely over your smaller frame. The topic of conversation coincidentally leads to how dangerously close Wanda has been to catching you two in the act lately, just as she’s about to open your door to confront you.

“Peter, were both terrible liars,” you reason with him. “And I hate having to lie to Wanda.”

“But we’re not ready to tell yet.”

“I know, but it’s just that-” You pause for a moment, thinking maybe it doesn’t have to be that complicated; maybe you don’t have to hide one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to you from your best friend. “Wanda has been there for me since the beginning of this whole superhero thing, and she’s the only person who knows what it’s like to have powers like mine; to be feared and judged by people for something I couldn’t control at the time. We tell each other everything, and I miss her so much; she’s my best friend.”

She never thought she could ever have a best friend like any other teenage girl could, and especially after her brother’s death in Sokovia, she never thought she’d be able to trust anyone as much as she trusts you. Hearing that you do want to tell her and that you never meant to hurt her is enough for her to give the space you need. She trusts that you will tell her when you are ready, and until then, she’ll let up so you two can resume your friendship. She leaves, but not before her socks slip on the floor that definitely was not that smooth before and falls back on the door to avoid sprawling on the floor. Unrealistically hoping you didn’t hear the really loud pounding noise it made, she attempts to run away, only to have you open the door to see a disheveled Wanda.

“O-Oh my- Wanda! W-What are you doing here?” You’re both caught off guard and end up being stuttering messes, talking over each other and stumbling over your words.

“Hi! Uh- I- uh, wanted to borrow your- your hairdryer, but I see your busy right now-”

“What Peter is doing in my room is, uh… He’s tutoring me!”

“Yeah?”

“Uh-huh,” you hum, the uncertainty clear in every word you pronounce. “I’ve been doing terribly awful in physics.” You internally kick yourself for the blatantly obvious lie; you could have named literally any other subject but you chose the one you were actually excelling in.

“Uh yeah-”

“You know, when I told you earlier that I was tired, I was just embarrassed that I’m having such a hard time with this schooling program- A-And Peter has been helping me out so I don’t have to disappoint Uncle Scott. He’s been a big help I’m doing so much better.”

“Well that’s great! That you’re, um, getting the help you need.” Wanda’s eyes dart around the hallway, trying to avoid eye-contact with you. You are terrible at lying to her and she’s trying so hard to help you out so you can feel like you don’t have to walk on eggshells around her. “I guess I’ll go ask to borrow Nat’s hairdryer then.”

“A-And I’ll get back to studying.”

There’s a moment of silence where Wanda thinks about how happy she is for you, and you think about how grateful you are to have a friend like her. Wanda can’t contain her joy anymore.

“I’m so glad that you found such a good tutor,” she says, her voice slightly cracking as she pulls you in for a hug. Of course what she really means to say is that she’s overjoyed that you found a great guy. The hug only lasts for a second before she takes off again.

“I never thought Wanda would be that gullible.” Peter pokes his head out from your room.

“Yeah.” You roll your eyes at Peter’s naivety. His arm reaches out to grab you by the waist and pull you back in, shutting the door behind you.

“Now come here, we gotta get back to studying.”
